Episode description

Love in the Bible is a central and transformative theme, woven throughout both the Old and New Testaments. It is portrayed not only as an emotion but as a divine command and a way of life. From the unconditional, sacrificial love of God for humanity—as seen in John 3:16— to the call to love one another deeply and selflessly in 1 Corinthians 13, often referred to as the “love chapter,” the Bible presents love as patient, kind, enduring, and without pride. Love is depicted as the greatest of virtues, fulfilling the law and reflecting the very nature of God, who is described in 1 John 4:8 as love itself. Whether through romantic love, brotherly love, or divine love, the Bible teaches that genuine love is rooted in action, compassion, forgiveness, and faithfulness.
