Day 24 - How the podcast did in 2023
Most popular episodes, how much money I've made, how the ads work in general, how many people listen per week!

I know it seems like I have no filter and I overshare constantly but believe it or not there are things I have been holding back!
How did I do? The goals I fully completed and the ones I abandoned or totally face planted on.
Big progress towards retirement savings goals in 2023 but not so much progress towards wrapping my brain around actually doing it.
Annnnd what I've done in years past.
I try to look on the bright side but here are 4 things that drove me bananas last year.
What I subscribed to (and what I regretted) in 2023
The total I had withheld in taxes and of course how I felt about it.
Things that did not bring me joy.
Five things that I absolutely loved in 2023. The very best charging cable: https://amzn.to/47ITfbW (That's an affiliate link!)
And why it doesn't really matter and why you shouldn't obsess about it like I do.
I've been choosing a word of the year and it's showing up in ways I didn't totally expect.
A key metric in YNAB is age of money! Here's how we did in 2023.
TWO IMPORTANT THINGS: One, I mistakenly said it was Day 12 because I was tired and counting is hard. Two, I forgot to tell you the total spent! It was $951 for two people. That's around $71 a month.
Peloton minutes, books read, hours outside! There's lots of things you can obsessively track.
I'm a big fan of the effective altruism movement! The Life You Can Save - Enter your income and get a suggested annual budget for giving
Did I save it, invest it, or use it to pay off debt? Listen to find out.
I love books and I love free books even more.
2023 was completely bonkers in the stock market. My net worth has been waving around like those inflatable guys outside a car dealership.
My credit score from January to December and two times I realized how fickle (and important!) the score can be.
It's not much but it adds up!
One more day on food, and then we'll move onto other topics. I was reminded that we're not all wired the same and I am wired to hate doing pantry challenges.
Everyone's favorite spending category--food! How much two people spent to feed themselves in 2023.
Kicking off 31 days of a new episode every day in January!
It took me a real long time to figure out what was what with life insurance. One, most people need it. Two, you only want term life insurance (most people don't need whole life). Three, if you want to get a free quote to start shopping your options in less than ten minutes, go to Quility Insurance to get started. Thank you to Quility Insurance for sponsoring this episode!

Unpacking a statistic I see thrown around all the time. It's true, but it's nuanced. Remember The 47 Percent Who Pay No Income Taxes? They Are Not Who You Think.
