Episode description

On this episode, I invite a fellow career coach to have a candid conversation around the topic of  embracing a non linear career and making a career pivot.  I interview my dear friend and colleague Laura Myers. In our interview she shares stories and examples of people making successful career pivots and offers advice on how to leverage and build skills, how risk-taking is involved,  and how to be intentional about pursuing a graduate program or additional training when thinking about a career pivot.  She also shares how her career path has been a winding road and how she ended up in higher education and career development.

Laura Myers is an Associate Director at Northwestern University as part of Northwestern Career Advancement (NCA). She has been providing career advising to both undergraduate and graduate students for over 13 years, and has been working in higher education for 18 years. Laura earned her Bachelor's degree in Communication-Journalism and her Master's degree in Community Counseling. She is also a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
