Transcript

Don't get down when you're seeing the worst. Cause the last. This is Jimmy Nanette, and we are coming to you from our studio in the middle of Fredericksburg, Texas. Good morning to you. Good morning. It's been a minute. It has. It's been a hot minute since we've been on the air together and have done a podcast. Yes. I've missed this. Well, we've been kind of busy. We've been very busy. And traveling. We're going to have

more. construction going on in the church so we may have to move it home you know what if there's if you hear something if you're listening today and you hear stuff banging and you won't today though they're not doing anything stuff out there yeah they are actually they're fixing that hole That's true. So, yeah, there's stuff going on here all the time. That's just the way it is. It's our life. We're always under construction.

Well, luckily, our office is pretty, or our studio, I should say, looks more like a studio than an office at this point. Oh, definitely looks like a studio. Luckily, we have it pretty soundproofed. Yeah. No, it's fantastic. It's just when they're above us that that's where it sounds like. A freight train. Yeah, and we're doing audio only today. Yes. Yeah, I didn't want to have to make Faith do all the production side of it. Even

though she's in here and would do it. She's with us, but I didn't want to have to do all that production side of it because... Most people, hey, somebody's at the door. See, this is our life. Yeah, you can answer the door. This is totally our life. Hey, it's okay. It is what it is. We want to welcome you to Living Up and Down World. I think we're on episode number 100. You think? I think it's 100. I thought it was like. It may be 99. But you don't know. I can

tell you. I can look it up. So let me see where we're at on this. Do you know? No, I'm looking. Okay, look. Do you know what episode we're on? Do you think it is? I think it's 100. I was thinking it was 90. I thought it was 98. We have been running and gunning and blowing and going. So I'm looking it up right now, going to my dashboard here. We are on number 100. We are. Wow. There should be like bells going off or something. We should have like fireworks going off. 100

in our busy life. Wow. 100 episodes. Well, we finally did it. That's a milestone for us. That is a milestone. You're looking particularly spiffy this morning. Absolutely gorgeous, as always. People are going to tell us to get a room if you keep doing that. Room with a view. Room with a view. We have a lot of travel. I don't want to go into all of our travels, but we did have a really big, wonderful, fun weekend. We just got back from the K -Love Fan Awards. Someone

asked me, why would you want to go to that? Oh, my gosh. Because we get ministered to. This is where we can go. And it's not just... It's not just concerts. It's actual mostly worship where we can go and receive. Whereas when we're here at the church. We're thinking about everything we're about to do, going to have to do. If the music is off, if it's, I mean, there's so many things going through our mind when we're here that we don't really become fully abandoned to

worship. But we go there and it's like refreshing time. But receive. Yeah. And we just need to, everybody needs a place where they can go and get their buckets filled. Yes. And if you're a worshiper, you'll understand it. If you're not, you would not understand. But we love music. You're a guitar player. Going to play on the worship team this Sunday for the first time. I just did a sound check a little bit ago. Has it been a year? It's probably been over a year.

It's probably been about a year since I played on the worship team, so I've been missing it. But this K -Love Awards, which will be shown on TBN tomorrow night, we were part of the actual taping. But we were also, they do a full -on... worship, concerts, speaking, all kinds of stuff from Friday through Sunday night in Nashville. Basically three, two and a half days of music. And it's the highlight of our year. We go every year. This is our third year. Yeah, it's one

of our favorite things we do. We already are signed up for next year. And CeCe Winans was probably my favorite. Wow. She is like the queen of gospel music. It was phenomenal. She's phenomenal. When she does That's My King. Oh. I just I just want to fall down. It is so good. And she led worship for the church. They actually have a church service on Sunday mornings for anyone who wants to come. And I mean, the whole place was packed out. We were almost on the back row

and she led worship. So it was reminded me of when we were at our church at Bethel World Outreach Center. in Nashville and Debbie Winans, who was her sister, led worship. And they look just alike. They look alike. They sound alike. They both sing the same. And so it was like, it kind of took us back. It did for me in a good way. But she led worship. And then Jonathan, what Jonathan? Jonathan Pacluda. Pacluda. He. Did a phenomenal message, really spoke. He preached. He's one

of the pastors. He's from Waco, Texas. He pastors a Baptist church in Waco. Of course, he's from Texas. All good pastors are from Texas. There we go. And so he spoke, and he's been part of a movement called the Unite Us Movement. And what it is, it's a group that goes to all these college campuses. They've been to 17 college campuses in about the last 18 months. Is it out of his church or is it just part of a movement? It's just part of it. They have several different

people they bring in to speak and preach. And he's done 17 of these. I mean, on Auburn campus, all these college campuses. That you're hearing about. I got to sit down and visit with him for a little bit. And I just said, so tell me what's going on. I mean, what do you think's happening? He said, it's the gospel and it's Jesus. He said, God has stirred a hunger for Jesus. and the gospel of Jesus Christ in the next generation. Which is, they're our next leaders, which this is what

we need. We don't need to regress. We need to progress. He said that he, in his meetings, the 17 he's done, he has seen 20 ,000 students give their hearts to Christ, come to the altar and sign a card saying, I'm giving my life to Jesus Christ. They pray to receive Christ there. Then they get follow -up materials. Okay, I was going to say, I hope they're getting discipleship. They get materials and they plug, this is what's needed. about this movement. I read about it.

One of their hearts is to make sure that students get plugged into local churches so they can be discipled, so they can grow. Because that was the one thing Billy Graham said he regretted. He said he did all of these revival meetings, but there was no follow -up. Remember him saying that before he passed? He said, that's my one regret that we didn't do. I would totally agree with that. So Jonathan, I was talking to him and I asked him about, so he said, yeah, definitely

the gospel. There's a hunger for the gospel. It's new. The people that are leading this movement in all the meetings they've done. Boy, I said he's done 17. He hasn't done 17. There was. There's 17 total so far. He's done some of those. He saw 20 ,000 people come to Christ. Gosh, just in the ones he saw. These are all college students. In all of the meetings combined, they had over 80 ,000 young people give their hearts to Jesus. That's unbelievable. That is miraculous. It is.

But yet you're not hearing that in the media. No, you won't see that in the media. CBN reports on it and several Christian outlets report on it. But really, it's almost an underground movement, even though it's happening on these campuses. Wow. I think it's just the beginning. I think we're seeing the beginning of an end time harvest that is going to be not just the great awakening, it's going to be the greatest awakening. Or the

greater, I love that. Or the greater or greatest awakening where we're going to see hundreds of thousands of people come to Christ. We need to in this day and time. Which right now is happening all over the world, by the way. Yes, yes. So God is moving, as we say, Aslan is on the move. God is moving in major ways all over. And Jesus...

He always used an interesting phrase when he was talking to not only his disciples, but when he was teaching to broader audiences, he would use this phrase for those who have ears to hear. And the reason that's so important is that. You can be sitting in a revival, and if you don't have ears to hear, you won't even see it. You won't even know that it's happening. And a lot of the historical revivals, a lot of people didn't even know they were in the middle of one. Right.

And then they read about, oh, wait, we were in the middle of one? I didn't even know. History tells the story. Because when you're in it, you can't see the forest with the trees kind of thing. But right now, revival is happening across the world. And the bottom line is we have to ask ourselves, do I want to catch this wave? Yes. Do I want to be a part of it? And a lot of people

don't. And that's part of my heart is to stir people's hearts to say, wherever it's happening, I want to be that revival looking for a place to happen. I want to be the awakening. Well, this reminds me, yesterday you posted a post about this revival happening, and you had great positive comments, and then you had that one. I actually shared that in my Bible study this morning, what that person said. Said that they're

serving a fake Jesus. I'm like, what? So he's judging what this conversion that's happening with these young people. Who are giving their hearts to God. I'll read it to you. I think this is worthy of talking about. I was in shock. So I posted, I said, God is on the move like a wave. We don't generate the waves. We simply catch the waves that God brings our way. And I said, I don't want to miss his waves. Revival isn't coming. It's already here. I stole that line.

It's already here from Twister. It's a great line. Because you watch that every time we get on a plane. And I was waiting for that line, just like you were watching. He's hilarious. And you were waiting for that line. So anyway, here's what this guy said. I'm not going to use his name. And I didn't respond to it because I don't respond to people who. who have a negative critical. There's no point. I don't have the energy for that. Here's what he said. So I shared

the link from CBN .com. The return to religion is a turn to Jesus, even among its skeptics. And then it says most of us can't remember a time when belief in God was growing, but now it is. I got a report yesterday. Pastor Brian brought me that report from Barna Research Group saying that we're seeing a sharp rise in interest in the Bible, in the gospel, in Christianity.

Christianity itself, not other occult stuff, but I mean, literally Christianity is rising in America as fast as it's risen in decades. So we're seeing good things happen. So this guy says this, after all this good, positive things, he says, sadly, a wave to false Jesus. I'm like, what? Because after my catching a wave, a wave to false Jesus. So what did he mean by that? He says, we need to read and even more so study the Bible rightly divided. Amen. I agree. Definitely.

We're reading the same Bible, I think. It's funny, though, you have different eyes, different perspectives. He says, there's a counterfeit coming. It's been happening since Jesus Christ resurrected. Well, we know that. We know that. The Bible doesn't say it will get better. So we need to be really saved, discerning, and ready. So what does that have to do with their conversion? I think he's looking for a massive downturn and destruction, yet we're seeing this great end -time harvest,

and God's moving. Exactly. Why not get excited about that? Instead of throwing buckets of cold water on new Christians, why not build them up? Why not disciple them? Exactly. Why not get them in the Bible? So that when the bottom drops out, you can handle. They'll be ready. Exactly. But that was a terrible statement. It is. This is a joke. We need to have more of a positive outlook, especially when people get saved. I'm going to refrain saying what I really think about this.

Because we can't judge everyone's salvation. You know what I mean? I mean, there may be people that it wasn't real, but. But why not celebrate those that are? Why not let God be the judge of that, not us? That is just wrong. It's called living up in a down world. Right. That's the title of our podcast. I mean, really, the idea is there's so much to be excited about in this world. We know the world is off the rails. We

know things aren't great. But we need to look at the positive things and not at the negative things. Yes. My gosh. You know, Jesus, the Bible says he was filled with joy, the oil of joy, more than all of his brethren. I mean, he was. He was joy. The second fruit of the Spirit is joy. I know I say this a lot. I'm a broken record, but I just get frustrated when... People can't see the good, and they're always looking for

the bad. In our Bible study, we were talking about how some people— Set that up a little bit because not everybody knows what you're talking about. Yeah, I'm in a Bible study with a bunch of women on Thursday mornings, and we're talking about the seven mountains. And today, though, we were talking about the mountains of arts and entertainment, which is, you know, the arts and entertainment world is— there's so much propaganda

in there and just evil. But we were talking about— Within this Bible study, we were talking about how some people don't believe we're supposed to be happy as Christians. And I said, I made the comment. I said, well, you know, in the Beatitudes, it says, blessed are you, blessed are you, blessed are you. That means happy are you. So why would God say happy if we're supposed to be sad all the time and mad and doom and gloom? No. And obviously he wants us to be full of joy. The

joy of the Lord is our strength. Hello. Joy relates to being happy, being full in him and enjoying his presence. Joy is enjoying. Think about that. And so why would we? I mean, how can we lead people to Christ if we're not happy? And if we know where we're going. Yes. Why would that not light up our circumstances? We have darkness here. And right now doesn't mean that we won't have it. We have to endure the light of the world. So we're light in a dark world. We're up in a

down world. It's the same thing. Another piece of that, which I think is really critical, is that. First of all, we know that I love what Steve Maxwell said when he had his encounter with Jesus after he died for 15 minutes. And he said, heaven isn't out there. It's not up there. It's right here. He just put it over his face like it's literally right there. So there's so much to live for. There's so much good to live for. And there's so much. joy to be had

and found. The word blessed means happy. It literally means that. That doesn't mean goofy. It doesn't mean silly. It means there's a joy that penetrates the darkness. It's a light that penetrates dark and it's life giving. Well, and go back to the K -Love Awards that we were at. Most of the artists, they do a showcase, artist showcase where they talk about their songs, where the song came from.

And most of the people, that we heard from these artists, their songs reflected a deep, dark place they were in, but they were able to come out of it because of Jesus. That, that should, that to me, that was so, I loved how vulnerable they were in telling their, their weaknesses, like a Katie. Katie Nicole. Nicole talked about. Ben Fuller. Yeah, but Katie talked about her being in. She has depression. Depression. She struggles

with chronic pain. And so when she writes her songs, it's out of that pain, but she's given God the glory. And I love that. Ben Fuller, he was an addict. 15 years. 15 years. He was in the country music world. And now he's become a Christian. Now, did that make everything fine? No. But now he has a better. outlook. And so when he sings, you can feel God in his songs, the presence. That's what I love. What they're singing about is they've been redeemed from that.

I noticed something in social media. This is, it's always bothered me. I've never verbalized it like in the open so much, but if I write a post, I do a daily devotional. And if I write a post about living a victorious life, I get like no likes. I mean, people are like, Because people tend to relate more in pain than they do in victory. They do. They do in joy. But we need to flip the script on that. As believers, we've got to grab hold of this fruit of the Spirit

called joy. First one's love. Second one out of the nine is joy. We've got to grab it. And sometimes you've got to grab joy by faith. It's not a feeling. Right. It's intentional. But it's hard. And I can get that. I do too. Yesterday we got bad news. We've had issues with their kitchen. We've been in the process of rebuilding and remodeling our kitchen for a year and a half. Almost two years. And the cabinet people went out of business, dropped all of our cabinets

off unfinished, basically. We've been in a dispute with them, with a credit card company, trying to get our money back because we had to pay someone else to redo them. And we got news yesterday that Citibank is... Siding with them, even though we have pictures, we have emails from them. Total ripoff. We're out $15 ,000 that we're being stolen. Now we have a choice. And so yesterday I wallowed in it a little bit because I was mad. I was mad. Well, I think I was in shock that now we have

to pay an extra $15 ,000. No matter what level it is. And I was bothered. I literally, I had to get to the point, because that's a lot of money for us. And what did you hear me say this morning? What? What did you say? I don't know. I didn't have my coffee, so I don't remember everything you said. You're in a fog. You can't talk to me when I don't have my coffee. I literally said out loud, I forgive them. I release them. Yes. I refuse to let them. And we'll let God

judge them. I'm not going to let their actions dictate my mood, my countenance, and I trust God. With the outcomes. That He'll return it back to us a hundredfold. He'll take care of it. I don't have to worry about it. And I had to, this morning, I had to literally go, God, this is in your hands. We're out this money. I'm asking for you to... Restore that money back to us because this was not our fault. None of

this was our fault. We were listening to Caleb this morning, and I love that they said that there was a survey, and they were asking people what their favorite story is in the Old Testament. Remember that this morning before we came to work? And I told you my favorite story is Joseph. Oh, that's great. And I think it's because Joseph, he didn't do anything wrong, although I'm a sinner. I've done a lot of things wrong. in my life, even as a Christian, but he had not. And yet

he was wrongly accused. He was, he was enslaved. He was put in a, you know, a pit. He was enslaved. He was put in prison, falsely accused of rape, and he was put in prison. But in the end, God. restored him a hundredfold and he became second in command in his nation. And I think that's how I ended well, he finished strong, he finished strong because he didn't give up. And I feel like for me, I, in thinking about hearing, you know, Caleb talk about, um, people's, you know,

their old Testament. favorite. And I thought about that. I'm like, Lord, why did I think that? And I think it's because of where we're at right now. We didn't do anything wrong. We didn't cause our cabinet people to go out of business and to not finish our project. And yet we're out and then lie that they did. And yet here we're out 15 ,000 because we had to pay someone else. And I'm like, Lord, you, you're our redeemer.

There it is. You're, you can restore this. And I had to switch the, I mean, I had to flip the switch on, okay, God, we're going to walk in joy in this, even though it's hard. It's not fair. It is not fair. Now you sound like a teenager. But, you know, someone asked me, well, can you get an attorney and can you sue? Well, yeah, it would probably cost more money than it would be what we lost. It wouldn't be worth the effort.

But as Christians, this is the difference. As worldly people, we could just... bad mouth and we could go online and put them down and call them out. Or we can say, you know what? God is going to redeem this. We don't know how. We don't know how He's going to restore $15 ,000 to us. Can I get the word on this? Yeah, get the word on it. Let's get the word on this. The thing is, what we're talking about right now, everybody can put their own story into that because everyone's

had stuff happen. Whatever they've been lied about, they got unjustly fired. I mean, all kinds of house burned down. We've all got stuff, right? Where things happen and it's like, it wasn't your fault. You didn't cause any of it. You just happened to be the recipient of it. Here's what Psalm 91, I've been spending a lot of time in Psalm 91. That's been my go -to. Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. You know, we heard

this a lot at K -Love too. We did. And you know, you don't go to K -Love and experience everything we experienced. Come back home, get bad news, and then go back to the way we used to be. No, we can't. That's why those experiences that we have. that lead us to Psalm 91 should help us be able to overcome this rather than sit in it. Wait a minute. You're talking about living in victory. We will get no likes on this podcast. We won't. That's true. Yeah. We're trying to

overcome. It's so hard. It is hard. And that's the thing. But it doesn't mean we don't have hard times. Let me say it this way. It's simple, but it's not easy. Simple doesn't mean easy. But to choose victory, to choose blessing, to choose joy when everything is happening around you, screaming, run the other way, or quit, or give up, or end it. And that's the fight we're in. The Apostle Paul told young Timothy, he said, fight the good fight of the faith. And the thing

is, we all have a fight to fight. We have many of them and there's many battles. We know that ultimately the war has been won. Jesus died on the cross. He took the keys of hell, death and the grave from the enemy, the keys of the kingdom. And he took them away and he's given them to us. But now this is where we have to fight our own battles. Jesus had to go through his temptation. He had to go through his being unjustly. accused, being slandered, being betrayed by some of the

people closest to him. He had to go through his. We're going through ours. Now the question is, what will we choose? Because this comes down to a choice. It comes down to a decision. It doesn't come down to how you feel. If we operate out of our feelings, we'll be blown like a West Texas spring wind, which can be 60 miles an hour with these storms we've been having. And you're just blown back and forth. But when you choose and you say, no matter what it feels like, I

choose this. My heart says, choose the right thing. My head wants to go the other way because my head's subject to my flesh. But my heart knows and trusts that God is good. No matter what, I can with my mouth say, I forgive them. I release them. And I release them to God. And I take it another step. I bless them. And when I bless them, I place them under God's canopy of justice. God's canopy of righteousness, God's canopy of truth, and now He's the judge, not me. Right,

exactly. Which means we can't come in the aftermath of being stolen from and badmouth them if we say we forgive, release, and bless. Right, exactly. Does that make sense? This sounds impossible, and in your mind and in your flesh, it is. But this is part of our spiritual growth. Yes. It's very telling about your growth. how you respond to things like this that happens, betrayal or injustice or anything like that. And I want to be found faithful. Yes. And yet it's hard because

we're human and we're... We're not happy. This was a huge setback. Right. But I really felt like even today, because, you know, I had my day yesterday where I was just very somber. I didn't really, I just was somber. Your brownie mix day. My brownie mix. Because I was in shock. And today I felt like the Lord said, it's only money, even though it's like, it's only money. It's a chunk of change. It's a chunk of change. But you know what, at the end of the day in the

big picture, it's not going to matter. Yeah. Not going to matter. Yeah. It's funny because I opened up the mail yesterday and there was a letter in there and it was from, I didn't know I had a 401k. I guess I just started it when I worked. Back in the day. Franklin Dental Care. And I got a thing from Vanguard saying, if you'll send this in, we tried to send you a check in 2017. I was hoping it was $15 ,000. It was $99. But I'm like, okay, there's a 99. of the $15

,000. Okay, God, this is a sign. I was thinking, because that came out of nowhere. We're talking, what, nine years ago, eight years ago. I'm like, what? I mean, that's pretty crazy. And so I was like, okay, God, He can get it to us somehow. He can get us that money. So think about what the enemy intends. Speaking of Joseph, what a great line at the end of that story. It says, what the enemy intended to destroy. God is used

for good. And that's what the, you know, so the enemy, we come off of this weekend, we're high, we're, our buckets are full and overflowing. We're like singing the songs in our head. We're replaying the moments. Yeah. And then boom, we just get this news like out of nowhere, left field. I felt this, remember all weekend at the Caleb, I felt this darkness. Remember I told you, and I talked about it with the Currys because they went with us, this heaviness. And I, I wasn't

sure. I just had a lot of things inside that have been hanging over us, mainly our kitchen. It is still not done, still not done. And I think subconsciously it was worrying whether this is because they credited the monies back to the Citibank card, but they hadn't given a letter saying it was complete. And then now. One day from the deadline. Wow. One day. One day from the deadline. It's been, what, six months? Six months. We get the bad news. Now, we can take

that and go cry. You had your cry yesterday. I didn't cry, but I almost did. Like I said, I think I was in shock. Or we can say, not today, Satan. Yeah. No. No, we will not give over our joy to that. Right. Just like I wouldn't give my joy over to that guy who wrote that stupid comment. Yeah. I'm not going to give my joy over that. I mean, he's the guy who makes all of us look bad. You know what I mean? Right. I'm not

going to give away my heart to that. Right. And make room for that in my mind or my heart or my head. And so how, okay, so we've talked about this. Let's talk about this practical. So what's our go -to? How do we, when you get news like that and you're reeling from it because you're trying to process it all because it was just wrong at the end of the day, how do we turn the corner to find that victory? I went to the Word. I went to the Word of God. Now, I didn't just

go get my Bible out and start looking. I just began to remember scriptures in my head. And the biggest one was... Forgiveness. Well, and one of the things I do. I don't want to be in a prison of my own making. Right. One of the things I do is I go back to where God's been faithful in the past. Yes. Because we have history with God. If you've never had history, you can't go back. And some people have to start. But we've had history in God where he's restored when we've

lost. And he's restored everything. And I just, I have to go, God, you did it before. Yeah. I know you'll do it again. Very good. The founding, the building block or the foundation of faith is trust. Yeah. And that's what you're saying. He's trustworthy. He's trustworthy. If he's worthy of our trust, then he should be worthy of our trust when things don't look good. Right. And that means when you get the bad news. Because

he's good all the time. He's not only good when we want it, when we, when he's good to us or when, when things are going well, he's good. All the time. It's easy to be, oh, yeah, yay, God, when things are going well. But when the bottom drops out and you wake up the next day like we did this morning, we went on our walk this morning, and I said, I choose to forgive. And I said, I choose. I didn't say I feel like forgiving them. I said I'm making a choice to

forgive. And I don't know if it's the cabinet. People were at Citibank. I think it's Citibank. I don't think the cabinet people ever responded because Citibank said last week and never heard from them. So we don't even know who to be mad at, right? Yeah, exactly. If we wanted to be mad, we don't even know who to be mad at. I think I'm mad at the Visa company. I'm mad at the devil. Well, yeah, I'm mad at the devil, too. In the words of Striper and one of their... Best Songs

Ever to Hell with the Devil. Oh, my gosh. That's the name of the song. Wow. It's the name of the album, too. It is. So, yeah, check it out. Probably from 1989. But anyway, back in the day. You should play a little clip of it. Oh, my gosh. Well, yeah. You could. I maybe have it on a ringtone, probably. It probably is. Anyway, so I want to end the show today, our podcast, talking about what do you do? So you turn to things like your history in God. That's a great one there. I love

that. I remember when we heard that years ago. where we have to understand if God brought me this far, he's not brought me this far to abandon me or to let me fall. Well, our first history of God is when we got saved. Oh, yeah, totally. That's it. So, I mean, you can't say I don't have a history with God. And if nothing else happened, the fact that I'm going to heaven instead of hell, that should be enough. That is an indication. Man. God's work. You can bank on that. Yeah,

exactly. Maybe we've got to put up with some stuff in the in -between, living here in this fallen world, down world as we call it. But at the end of the day, He's good. He's faithful. So the faithfulness of God, the trustworthiness of God, the goodness of God, then that's something you've got to decide before the bottom drops out or before you get the news, the news that we got or anything in your life. Because stuff happens in this world, and it's not always fair,

and it doesn't always add up. And if you've already decided God's good, you've already decided, I refuse. I love what Michael W. Smith said a number of years ago in one of the documentaries we saw. He said one of the things, one of his number one things is, I refuse to ever be offended again in my life. I refuse to be offended. I will be unoffendable. Right. I don't know if you remember that. I do. I will never forget it. I refuse. I will never be offended again. Because we can

receive that. offense, but we can do something with it. And that is just to throw it out and not allow us, we don't live and dwell in it. Not carry it. And this is an offense to us to be ripped off. So we have a choice. Do we carry it or do we reject it and drop those seeds to the ground and say, no way, not today, Satan. Yeah, that's good. That's real. That's victorious living. That's living up in a down world. That's living as though you're blessed instead of cursed.

I'm happy. Yeah. Are you happy? I'm hungry right now. You're hungry. I'll be happy when I get some food in my belly. We do have some people to thank. Yes. Steve Wise. What a wonderful night. You've got to share this. We went to dinner last night with one of our listeners. He and his wife, Steve and Stephanie Wise, came in town, asked us and the Currys to pick our favorite steak place or barbecue place. Our favorite barbecue place was not having barbecue last night, so

we chose a steak place. And he blessed us. They blessed us with a wonderful meal. And we got to hear their story and who they are. And he does technical for Lyle Lovett. Well, what he is, he's the front line sound guy. For Lyle Lovett. It has been for years. In fact, when we asked him, what do you do? Because we were just meeting him for the first time. But they've been a faithful giver. Thank you, Steve. I didn't put it together last night until you drove off and I went, that's

Steve Wise. He's the one who's been giving to us monthly. And we want to thank you for that, especially right now. Thank you for the 60 -ounce ribeye last night, too. That was amazing. But when we asked him what he did and he said he worked technical for Lyle Lovett, I was expecting him to laugh like it was a joke. But it was true. That's what he does for a living. That's why they're in Texas. I was like, oh. They live in

Las Vegas. They're visiting Texas. But it took a little time for vacation to come over and hang out with us and the Currys. But also, they've got a show coming up with Lyle. With Lyle Lovett in Tomball. Starting a new tour in Tomball. And then she works for Cirque du Soleil. How do you say that? Circus. Yeah. Did I say it right? Oh, okay. It is French. It is French, and I'm from West Texas, so that won't happen. And she's worked for them for 23 years, she said. She's a technical

director for them. It was a delight. to meet them and get to spend time. I wish we would have connected who they were while we were sitting there instead of when they drove off because it didn't, I knew you had talked to him through email, but we, I didn't connect that they're the ones who've been faithful listeners and givers and Steve, Stephanie, thank you. If you're listening to this, which I hope you are, I know you are. Um, thank you. Thank you. Thank you. That dinner

was next time you come in. It's our time to buy. It's our treat next time. So, but thank you. It was a blessing. It was such a blessing. Who else? James Barron. He's a, he's a regular giver. Adam Curry. I saw he boosted us again. I mean, Adam Curry's a regular giver and just our best friend ever. Yes. And that's who we went to Caleb with. And we're going to Florida with them in July. We travel with our besties. Yeah. You know, there's, it's, travel's not always easy with

everybody. We've had one of those trips. Well, we've decided that the K -Love trip is just us four and no more. We are not inviting other people. That is a special time. It's so hard to corral a lot of people. It's hard to get six people to sit at a table anywhere. And so that's kind of our secret vacation, yearly vacation. We all signed up again. It's just beautiful. I highly recommend you watching the awards tomorrow night. So here's my question for you. Yes. Audio or

video? Well, I like audio because you know me, I don't like pictures of myself and videos. Kind of leaning towards audio with this and then video with the interview. I think that's the way it should go because I feel more comfortable when I'm not worried about the camera. And when we're off in July, we can take one of the rigs home and we can do it at the house. Yeah, we'll be taking the whole month off in July again. We do that every year. Every year. It's our rest

time. That way we can keep up. I don't like missing. Yeah. I feel like we're... Not that we're letting people down, but we're not building people up that we could. Does that make sense? Yeah. We'll try to be more consistent. We're going to be more consistent. And I think we can do that on the audio side a lot easier. And we're trying to keep it to a minimum because we recognize your time is valuable. Which, by the way, our time's up. Oh, and we want to be, we want to

value you. I was letting you rock. You're rocking and rolling today. Thank you for sharing today. You shared some amazing things. It was great. And it's just good being on the mic with you again and, and reminiscing about an amazing weekend where we were very blessed. Very, very blessed. So yeah. So Faith, if you'll go ahead and hit our outro there. There it is. Well, again, we want to thank you for joining us. Episode 100. 100. Big Mark. Milestone. Living up in a down

world. We want you to have an amazing day. Yes. On purpose.
