Living the Questions with Dr. Jim Robinson
Episode description
Dr. Jim Robinson is a scholar of eco-theology, eco-feminist theology, and contemplative practices. He recently completed his dissertation at Fordham University, analyzing the letters exchanged by Rosemary Radford Ruether and Thomas Merton, as well as their broader bodies of work. He is a lecturer in the religious studies department and associate director of the Deignan Institute for Earth and Spirit at Iona College. He is especially interested in the capacity for contemplative-prophetic communities to promote and display the possibility of radical conversion, and is actively involved in the Agape Community in Ware, Massachusetts, the Benincasa Community of Guilford, Connecticut, and the International Thomas Merton Society.
Jim and I met nearly five years ago at the Agape Community in Massachusetts and have remained in conversation since then around themes of vocation, spirituality, and engaged contemplation.
