Episode description

In this episode, Dr. Gina discusses what motivates perfectionism, how perfectionism is reinforced and praised in our society and its pitfalls. While perfectionism leads to positive outcomes such as a job well done, a positive self-image, and being a great employee, for example, over time, it leads to stress and burnout.

Perfection is an unattainable goal motivated by a feeling of “not good enough”. It is a standard no one can live up to. It leads to poor sleep,  robs you of your joy, and you say "no" to things that matter to you. It can even lead to procrastination and broken relationships because no one can live up to your expectations. Dr. Gina proposes simple strategies on how to move past striving for perfectionism.
