Episode description

Listen to the audio version here.

This Saturday on 2nd June I??ll be running a workshop at the Cornerstone Community Centre Keys to Wellbeing from Mystics and Scientists. I hope you can come along.

On the face of it, what would a 13th century Sufi poet like Rumi or the teller of an ancient myth know about being stuck in traffic jam?

Well I??m a hypnotherapist and run training courses in emotional wellbeing and I??m fascinated by exploring the answer to that question.

Ancient wisdom might come from a different world, but the essence of life remains the same. And in this workshop, we??ll be exploring what spiritual poetry, Buddhist teachings, myths and modern psychological research have in common and what they can teach us in our lives today.

We??ll look at some of the fascinating ways our minds can play tricks on us and what a slim grasp on reality we actually have

We??ll explore how you can break free from habitual negative thoughts and cultivate resilience and optimism

I??ll show you how you can use your unconscious abilities to create emotions so you can begin to feel good when you want to

We??ll explore how to escape from those half-asleep autopilot states we can so easily get stuck in and how to develop joyful mindful awareness

And we??ll find what ancient myths and spiritual poets tell us about how our individual lives relate to eternal, timeless themes

So do come along. It would be lovely to see you.

The workshop is being organised by the Holistic Network and will be at the Cornerstone Community Centre, which is next to Palmeira Square. It will run from 10-12:30pm on Saturday 2nd June and costs £18.
