Episode description

A recent review on apple podcasts that said “remember where you came from” sparked a memory of some song lyrics that has resonated with Heath for many years. Our scars that we accumulate are sometimes covered up for one reason or another. We feel like we need to hide our scars, both physical and mental, so that we don’t appear to be “damaged goods” to the outside world. When in all reality, we need to wear those scars like a badge of honor to show off what an amazing finished product we are. Heath talks the Japanese art of Kentsugi, and touches on appreciating his scars by celebrating his milestone of surviving 10 years since his second fight with cancer. We need to view our scars from a place of appreciation, and what they taught us from that experience- rather than looking at it from a perspective of loss.
