Welcome to Music to our Ears, where we share some interesting tidbits and stories related to our favorite Lingo kids songs. Oh it's stormy, we'll have to cancel our picnic. Actually, who says we can't have a picnic indoors?

Speaker 2

I don't know, not me, no bebby.

What if we spread out a blanket, plates, and utensils right here on the floor. Sure, I'm in, let's go. You know what could make this picnic fun? What a food rainbow? One easy way to be healthy is to eat different colored fruits and vegetables a rainbow to be sure you're getting all sorts of vitamins and minerals. Should we try it? Sure? Yes. Let's each pick a color red, orange, green, I can do blues and purples. Do you know how to remember the colors of the rainbow? Roy G BIV.

Each letter of this name, roy G BIV is a color of light in the rainbow. Are red, Oh, orange, y, yellow, G, green, B blue, I, indigo and V violet. Cool. Let's go check out the fridge, and don't forget the pantry for dried fruits and canned vegetables. Yeah, use these bowls to collect your magnificent munchies. We'll meet back at the picnic blanket to build our rainbow. Ooh, heyya, all right, gather around.

Look at these be utiful fruits and vegetables. They're rich in vitamins A, B, C, E, and K to help your body parts work properly. Some help fight off illness, and some help heal wounds. Who found rainbow colored birthday candles? I did? We obviously won't eat those. Let's stick them in this loaf of bread for a fun centerpiece. Yay, so cowie, you chose red. That's at the top of the rainbow. I see cherry tomatoes, A jar of red peppers, apples and strawberries. Ripe red fruits and veggies are packed

with vitamins C and cake. Cool. Next is orange. That's yours, Lisa, A yep, sweet? I see oranges, dried apricops, canned peaches, oh, and baby carrots. Orange foods give us vitamin C and potassium. Oh. Potassium is a mineral that's great for your blood, muscles and heart. Knock knock, who's dare orange? I too?

You glad? We have fruits and vegetables. Who's next, right, Philly yellow? We've got bananas, pineapple, lemons, and corn. Yellow fruits are packed with vitamin C and vitamin A for healthy skin and eyes. Elliot, your turn. You've got green foods?

Speaker 3

Sure do?

Speaker 1

Mmm, green goodies, lettuce, snap peas, broccoli, avocado, and kiwi. Green produce has many vitamins, including vitamin E, another health booster to fight off sickness. Red orange, yellow green that leaves me yay. I found blueberries and blackberries. Oh, and eggplant or aubergine as it's called in many places. Blue and purple. Superfoods help your brain and heart. Our rainbow is complete. Grab a plate. There's hummus and salsa for the veggies. Dig in is everyone enjoying their meal?

Every day I walk into the store, filling up my card and then I'm headed out the door. Gotta heap banana's, keepi's oranges and more. Every day I walk into the store, can't wait to eat these foods. Us weary, so much to explore how my carrot's members broccoli, tomatos and more.

La la la la la la la Shalla la la la la la la Shalla la la la la la la. Every day I walk into the store, I want to try some healthy foods I've never had before, grabbing Jack's lentils, tofu bean sprouts and more. Every day I walk into the store, skipping down the aisles, I see things I can't ignore, loading up on hummed snappies, berry, yogurt and more.
