"The term 'Grinchy' shall apply when Christmas spirit is in short supply." I don't know if this discussion will fill you with Christmas spirit, but we're definitely full of something. Listen to us talk about the very divisive 2000 film starring Jim Carrey " How The Grinch Stole Christmas" , directed by Ron Howard. What would you choose between this movie or a sea-sick crocodile?
Two fat men discuss Fatman , starring Mel Gibson, after a 15 minute discussion about shovelling snow.
We go through some movies we’ve seen in the last few months that we feel are worth mentioning. And Steve is back, thus Star Wars talk.
We did it. Us crazy sons of bitches did it. We finally talked, at length (as if there is any other way), about the 1993 masterpiece, Jurassic Park. Hold on to your butts...
We've listed our top 100 favourite movies, but what do they say about us? What were the most common genres? Decades? Year? Actors? What does it sound like when we read off all 100 movies successively? All these answered and more, on this very special episode of Line of Sight.
Can you believe it? We can't. Christmas has come early, and we're unwrapping all our favourite movies. It's more exciting than counting down at New Years Eve. These are our top ten favourite movies of all time, folks. There's a lot to love here, and we don't hold back. Or maybe we do a little, because 4 hours is frankly a little short for talking about 20 movies we hold near and dear to our hearts. Perhaps they'll each get their own dedicated episodes, if we haven't done so already...
We are getting close the the end of our ten part series on our 100 favourite movies. This week the wonderful Holly Hunter appears on both lists. Join us and join us next week for the most anticipated podcast ever, our TOP TEN
This is our best episode yet, although I may be biased because we're talking about some of our favouritest movies ever. Numbers 30-21 to be exact. Another mixed bag containing a lot of 90s from one of us, 70s from the other, space movies, comedies, a lot of sequels, and we both allow one western each. Good stuff. Nothing but the best, here on Line of Sight.
Here for your listening pleasure are two 'men' who have never seen John Carpenter's 1978 horror classic Halloween.
In the music industry, the top 40 is the current, 40 most-popular songs in a particular genre. But we're not talking about music, and not necessarily what is popular. These are the next ten of our favourite movies of all time, #40-31. Brought to you by our (unofficial) sponsors: Duct Tape, and Corn!
We are at it again, in the top 50, a few surprises this week to say the least.
Further insights into what we love, coming from all eras and genres, setting us up for next week as we get into the top 50. But let's not take away from this selection. These ten films could be in anyone's favourite movies list. Maybe yours? If you're Adam's brother-in-law Reuben, then absolutely they are.
We take a break from our Top 100 list this week and deal with a current and timely film, 1985's St. Elmo's Fire. Why St. Elmo? Why indeed.
This train is moving at full steam now, we are getting into the movies we are very passionate about. Some old, some new, and a lot that we've already discussed on the show before! How is your top 100 list coming along?
The hits just keep coming, this week we talk #80-71 of out top 100
It's week two of our top 100 movies of all time, and we're really starting to see what kinds of movies do it for us, and where these influences came from. Here are our 90th-81st favourite movies.
We finally made it, here we go, Adam and Nathan start their top 100 movies list with #100-91. Will Aquaman make the list?
We are celebrating our 100th podcast in style with past clips, trivia, reminiscing with our oft-guest Steve, and regress back to arguing about Star Wars. A perfect representation of our podcast! Here's to the next hundred and more!
In our longest, and therefor most ambitious episode yet, we take on the two biggest Avenger movies in this finale to our journey through the Marvel Cinematic Universe (Phase 1-3, excluding Spider-man: Homecoming). These are the crown jewels to Kevin Feige's accomplishment with this franchise. There is no denying that these are in fact "something special." Listen to all 6+ hours at once, or break it up over a week, we won't judge either way, we just thank you for listening. Next week is our 100th...
What better way to approach episode 100 than seemingly picking a random movie from last decade on this 90's heavy podcast? Thats right no one asked fo it but here it is anyways, Adam loves it Nathan does not hate it, 2011's REAL STEEL. Thats it, that's what we picked.
In the second to last of our Marvel Cinematic Universe episodes we discuss Ant-Man and the Wasp, which Adam has been criticized in the past for liking, as well as Captain Marvel, which we are both fairly lukewarm about. Or is it fair? Maybe we're just sexist pigs? Who's to say, except you! But only if you download and listen!
Another month ends, and another discussion begins. What exactly did we watch in July? Some Bigfoot movies, some Amazon originals, Underwater, Attack of the Clones, Once Upon A Time... In Hollywood (twice!), Flash Gordon, and Megan Fox's Rogue, to name a few. There are debates to be had, so hold on to your butts.
This week we talk, you guessed it: THE MASK. Special guest Brad joins us.
This week we discuss some movies that didn't quite live up to the trailers that were made to promote them.
We reach the half way point through Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Black Panther. Two movies that are fairly disconnected from the main "Infinity Saga" but should both definitely comes after Civil War, despite what Disney+ would tell you is the correct "Timeline order." You'll have to listen to find out why...
What we've watched this month, Luca, Mitchells VS The Machines, Exists, Star Dust, The Big Door Alien Connection, Wag the Dog, Best of the Best, Army of the Dead, The Fighter, Tombstone, Indiana Jones 4 films, Down Periscope, Nine to Five and Kenny Rogers Dolly Parton Concert.
Bigfoot - myth or legend, fact or fiction? Either way, I think we can all agree that Harry and the Hendersons is the best visual representation of Sasquatch on film, and the best movie about Sasquatch. This week we discuss the film for longer than the film's actual run time, but it must be talked about. This is culturally significant, much like the discovery of an actual Bigfoot.
Well we did it, here it is. You asked and we delivered. Pirates 1 , 2 and 3.
It's strange, but who are we to judge? In part 8 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe we talk Doctor Strange and Thor: Ragnarok, and find out why Thor and the Hulk were missing from Civil War.
