Episode description

What makes a Project Manager a true craftsman?

In this episode, we hear Richard Pharro, CEO of APMG International, talk to, Andreas Trautner, Published Author, Project Management craftsman, and lifelong entrepreneur.

Starting as a fisherman, Andreas followed his curiosity to his PHD studying Agricultural sciences,  when he got the opportunity to Manage a Project due to his 8 years of experience managing Denmark’s largest musical festival.

Join us as Andreas recalls the moments that have shaped his career and success, from that first failed university job as a Project Manager, to the moments that stayed with him: like the key to cancelling project ‘noise’.

Andreas goes into detail about how he realised he was part of the problem in his first failed project : In in his own words “Project management is as a craft”, and he was a poor craftsman.

The Author of: " The Six: why so many projects fail and how to succeed” Andreas introduces us to the  6 parameters of his book, his guide and the missing pieces of making PM your craft. Hear Andreas break down the lessons from 20 years experience and techniques we’ve never heard phrased before like: rehearsing your project both on paper, and in your mind, before planning.

We’ll finish by hearing Andreas disclose the three things he’d tell his younger self. The key? It’s simple: “You’ve got to want to succeed”.
