🇫🇷 Paris? Who, What, Where, When, & Why?

WHO?

Tanner & Madison Klein, children of the Most High God, highly motivated by the love of God, message of Jesus, and His Great Commission to His followers in Matthew 28:18-20:

18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

WHAT?

Moving back to France as full-time missionaries in less than 3 weeks, ready to serve and support a local church plant in the 9th arrondissement as well as a prayer & worship ministry in the 12th arrondissement of Paris.

The Lord provided a 10m2 (107 sq. ft) home-base for 4 months, a tiny Airbnb studio. During that time, we plan to apply for a residence permit for Madison and look for a longer-term place to live and steward as a home-base and gift from God. I got to serve in a church plant and in a prayer & worship ministry for nearly a year in 2022-2023, and the Lord has continued to build His church in Paris! The gates of hell will not prevail against it. We plan to immediately rejoin the church plant and the prayer & worship ministry. We believe our ministry work will focus primarily on discipleship, prayer, worship, evangelism, and equipping believers to shine Christ’s light in their city and beyond, to their friends, families, neighbors, and colleagues. Intentional Parisian disciple-making most often happens over a meal, over time, so we intend to open our future apartment/home to welcome others in, show Kingdom hospitality, build friendships, and disciple friends toward Jesus.

In addition to our Kingdom work on the ground in Paris, I also plan to continue pursuing my God-given priorities:

* Seek Jesus 1st, abide in Him and become more like Him,

* Publish 3x weekly at 7:33am—Monday, Wednesday, Friday—through this online publishing ministry, “LIFE ON MISSION with Tanner Klein,”

* Publish my 1st audiobook for my 1st book—Thank You, Father: 30 Days of Gratitude, Prayer, and Praise - Men's Devotional—by May ‘25,

* Publish my 2nd book on ‘Avodah’ by mid-June ‘25,

* Reach B1 Intermediate French fluency by mid-June ‘25,

* Be ready to teach three courses (e.g. Entrepreneurship Strategy, Business Strategy, Social Entrepreneurship & Impact) from a faith-filled, Christ-centered, God-fearing perspective by November ‘25, and

* Complete the 1st half of my Master’s degree in Innovation and Entrepreneurship at HEC Paris while adapting and developing course content by December ‘25.

WHERE?

Next stop: Paris, France. Greater Paris Population: ~12m souls, ~18% of France’s total population. % Evangelical in France: 1.23% according to Joshua Project.

WHEN?

March 7-God knows. We’re willing to stay as long as the Lord wills. We are embracing the fact that we, greatly loved sheep, get to follow our Good Shepherd where He leads, when He leads, how He leads. Our lives are not our own; we were bought with a price. We surrendered our lives to the One who laid down His life to ransom us from the kingdom of darkness and deliver us into the Kingdom of the Beloved Son. We’re choosing to trust His guidance and perfect timing, however unconventional it may seem to us. We remember Proverbs 16:9:

“The heart of man plans his way,

but the Lord establishes his steps.”

So, we are committed to following the Lord, not our own plans—we’ve learned from that mistake. Based on the unforgettable words in James 4:13-16, we gladly entrust our future to the Lord and seek to plan with Him, according to His direction, not according to our own wills and limited perspectives.

“Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”— yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.” As it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.”

WHY?

First, Jesus is worthy, so we go, work, serve, & worship.

Second, in love, the Lord has called us to leave our families, lives, and lands and go by faith to Paris for the sake of Christ and His Kingdom, trusting He will provide and care for us. Madison Rose and I met in Paris during an evangelistic outreach almost three years ago, both convinced we were called to France. The Lord continued to make it clear that now is the time to go back to Paris to live and serve as disciple-making disciples and ambassadors of Christ, to build up the Body of Christ, and to make Christ known. We know we are accountable to the LORD, so we’re happy to respond to His invitation to go back to Paris in faith.

Third, Paris needs the light of Christ to shine and expel darkness. Paris is a beautiful city rich in culture, but beneath its man-made grandeur, many hearts remain distant from the love of God, living in a dark spiritual desert—a place where millions of souls are searching for hope, yet to encounter the life-transforming power and presence of God.

We long to see Parisians turn to God, experientially know God, seek Him first, and boldly make Jesus known. In response to His love, we’re going to work with, serve, and worship the King of kings and Lord of lords alongside His sons and daughters there. Jesus is worthy of being known and worshiped by every people, in every language, including the French worshiping the Lamb in their native tongue.

“After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, ‘Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!’” - Revelation 7:9-10

We’d love to welcome many French souls into this celebration of the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.

* Faithfulness to abide in the Vine, Jesus, and to follow His will amid the many distractions present in and around Paris
