Day 6: God our Healer

"Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's."

Psalm 103:2-5

"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."

Psalm 147:3

"And he went throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction among the people. So his fame spread throughout all Syria, and they brought him all the sick, those afflicted with various diseases and pains, those oppressed by demons, those having seizures, and paralytics, and he healed them."

Matthew 4:23-24

Devotional

The living God is the ultimate Healer. He not only forgives sins but also heals physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual wounds.

No wound is too deep or too great or too old. No wound is beyond our Healer’s ability to restore and redeem.

In the ministry of Jesus, we witness His authority and compassion as He healed all kinds of brokenness, bringing restoration and wholeness to those who came to Him in faith.

As we remember the Lord’s power and willingness to heal, we can rejoice and draw near to the One who brings restoration and transformation.

We can bless the LORD who crowns us with steadfast love and mercy. He alone truly satisfies and renews us.

Men of God

As men, we are not unique in bearing physical ailments or emotional pain, but we can be prone to believe the lies that we should hide it, disregard it, or bear it alone.

These common coping mechanisms may help temporarily numb the pain but resolve nothing.

These passages from Scripture remind us that our Redeemer cares for us.

He is able and willing to heal the brokenhearted and bind up their wounds.

Whether in spiritual, emotional, mental, or physical brokenness, in Christ we find the Source of healing and restoration without shame.

Application

Approach the LORD with honesty in faith, seeking Him first, more than just the good things He gives. Give thanks as you remember His healing power and redemption. The living God is able to restore us completely, in the blink of an eye or over time. His timing is perfect.

Acknowledge the LORD as your Great Physician. Consider your need for His restoration in specific aspects of your life. Our Healer cares for us. He knows what we need before we even ask Him. So, submit your desires for healing and wholeness and listen. Trust in the Lord and be ready to follow His counsel.

Prayer

Dear LORD,

You are the Great Physician. You are the Source of healing, forgiveness, redemption, love, mercy, and satisfaction.

Thank You for Your tender love and compassion. Thank You for Your willingness to bring restoration to every aspect of my life.

I bring my wounds and pain before You and ask for Your healing touch, Lord Jesus. I believe You are able.

You know what I need. I thank You in advance for Your provision.

Guide me to the right paths of recovery that I may step forward in faith, gracious God

By the power of Your Spirit, I will trust and follow You today.

In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
