God is at work in Paris 🇫🇷💡

Thanks for joining in praying for this set apart city. Paris needs prayer. My daily reminder to “Pray for Paris 🇫🇷” rings at 4:44 PM. Feel free to set a calendar alert or alarm reminder to Pray for Paris 🇫🇷 at 4:44 PM. We can pray in faith together! If not then, pick another time and cover this city in faith-filled prayer. Before I pray in English and in French, here’s a quick note about God at work in Paris.

While there are so many lost souls in this dark, spiritual desert, that doesn’t mean it will stay that way. I am convinced that God will redeem this city for the sake of Christ, the Gospel, His people, and the Kingdom of God. I know Christ is the Light of the world. He said in John 8:12, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” That is good news for those who trust in and follow Jesus. Our Good Shepherd also calls us the light of the world in Matthew 5:14-16 saying:

14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

As the Lord dwells in the hearts of His people through faith, His Spirit shines the light of Christ through us. John 1:5 says about Jesus, 4 “In him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” A big problem remains: there are many lost sheep wandering in the darkness in and around Paris, yet to be welcomed into the covenant family of God. There are also many believers in God who are hiding their lamps under baskets. It’s true, there is much to be redeemed in the city of lights, in the hearts of the Bride of Christ and of the lost wandering in darkness.

Even still, the light of Christ is shining and shining brightly through numerous faith-filled sons and daughters across the city. The Lord is building His church in Paris, and there’s nothing the gates of hell can do to stop Him. I hope and pray that God stirs your heart to pray for the people and city of Paris, and as you do, that the Lord would grant you more of His heart and love for the city and its inhabitants. There is hope for Paris, even Paris, and it is found in Jesus Christ, the conquering King of kings and Lord of lords. Hallelujah!

Let’s Pray!

Lord our Creator,

Holy, holy, holy are You. Thank You for knitting us together in our mothers’ wombs as you attentively and lovingly shaped us into being. Thank You for caring for us all our days and years, regardless of our awareness of You. Thank You for Your steadfast love for us shown through the life, death, & resurrection of Your Son Jesus. Thank You for the countless ways you have proven your love to us in ways we have not even see or noticed. Though times and seasons change, You remain the same, steadfast Savior. Your love satisfies. We celebrate You, Lord our God.

Lord Jesus, may Your name be glorified and exalted across Paris and beyond throughout this holy week.

We uplift the church in Paris and all our local churches and communities to You, Good Shepherd.

We pray for pastors and preachers of the Good News to remain undistracted in seeking You first this week. May they sit at your feet and abide in You, merciful Savior. May they truly be satisfied and find all they need for their hearts, souls, and minds in You, Lord Jesus. May they proclaim Your victorious resurrection from hearts overflowing with love and experiential knowledge of You, Resurrected King.

We pray for unity in the church and among all those serving on and leading up to Easter Sunday. We ask that there would be no room for harboring offense or division as your people stay rooted in You, the Vine, and serve out of love for Jesus and for their neighbors. May we be one as You and the Father are one, Lord Jesus.

May the joy of the Lord be the strength of all those who volunteer. May those seeking to prepare the way for others to encounter Jesus be blessed and refreshed in Your presence. In Your presence, there is fullness of joy.

We pray that Jesus would be on the center stage of our hearts and of all the church does this week. You are the King of kings and Lord of lords, the King of our hearts and Lord of our lives. Empower us as Your Bride to serve and live like this is our reality. More than seeking to perform, may our desire be to be faithful to You, Lord. May Your love motivate us to make known Your name and fame, not ours. May we work and serve not by our own limited strength, but by Your Spirit.

May Christ Jesus be celebrated and any cynicism be cut off. Keep us pure in heart. Inspire childlike faith and hope in us. May we be the most excited to share the Good News of Jesus, the best news ever. May fear of man be replaced by fear of the Lord and deep love for You, Lord, so that we may joyfully share the Gospel and freely invite people to come celebrate our risen Servant-King.

May all who come to Easter services be present in heart, soul, and mind. Keep us from allowing distractions that would keep us from experiencing all You want for us, Lord.

We pray that the Gospel would be proclaimed simply and clearly in full. We pray that not a single messenger of the Gospel would leave out the reality of both Christ’s death on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins and His rising again to new resurrection life that we now share with Him. Thank You, Father, for reconciling us to You and restoring our relationship through Christ’s sacrifice.

In Your grace, we pray that all newcomers and guests would experience the love and hospitality of Your Kingdom, God Almighty. May the Bride of Christ clearly show Your love and hospitality, so much so that people would feel not like outsiders, but like they belong to a family, to Your eternal family.

We pray for multitudes to receive the offer of salvation through faith in Christ, repent, and cling to You as their only Savior and Lord. May prodigal children come home and find themselves welcomed into their Father’s loving arms.

Loving Lord, keep us from going through the motions this week and on Resurrection Sunday. Keep us from growing familiar with the Good News of Jesus. Rather, may we grow in Christ as transformed sons and daughters of God, renewing our minds daily in the Truth, and growing in our love for You, Lord our God. May we worship You in spirit and in truth, in word and in deed.

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

We pray in the transformative, life-giving name of Jesus Christ our Savior, Lord, and King.

Amen. Thank You, Lord!

Prions (en français)! 🇫🇷

Seigneur, notre Créateur,

Saint, saint, saint es-Tu.

Amen. Merci, Seigneur !
