I'm Honey German. My parents are Dominican. I was born and raised in New York City. I love sneakers and I'm a body positive advocate. I'm Carolina Bermudez, but i was born and raised in Ohio. I'm a wife, a mama, and a worker being. This is life in English. Hey, what's up a honey and Carolina and we are doing this little mini episode thing because we want you guys to know what life in Spanglish is really like. So, growing up, my mother used a word all the time.
What word was this? The word is gonzejo. Gonzejo is well, by the dictionary, it means advice. In our house, it meant something you're not gonna like. It meant I'm about to tell you you're fat, I'm about to tell you you're out of control or how and you're like, fuck, here we go now all bets are off. So no gonzejo is advice. So if somebody's gonna give you one, you want to brace yourself because you never know what
you're gonna get. You really don't. It's and it's usually an unsolicited exactly it's like, well, wait a minute, I didn't even ask for this but you're about to give me one, all right, And it can be about anything from your relationship, to school, to work to anything. They decide. Moms decide, they really do. My mom's always had to
do with eating and weight loss. Yeah, well, my mom to this day she'll look at my and I know when one is coming to because like the other day she was with my boys and they were playing together and she's like, yeah, ha, Gonzelo, you have to put a time limit. You gotta just told me to put a time limit on their Nintendo DS. Mom. Okay, that's the SA. So that's it. That's it, So use it in a sentence today, gonzejo, I wish my word was just as fancy as yours is. Why what do you mean, listen,
we have we have this word choppiadoda. Choppiadoda is that a person who talks too much? And you could be a choppiado too if you're a male. What is it? This is a person that uses other people for financial gain. Okay, and it's levels to choppiaoa, like you could be like a choppy choppies for short. This is like a whole new thing. Is this a Dominican thing? This is a this is like a street Dominican thing. But you know
there's levels to the choppies. You know, you got people over here chapiando for dinners, and you got bitch just choppy on the surgeries and Mercedes Benzes. Damn at its levels that skills. It's like Choppiado with a maximum. That's like you at the top of the chain. Got apartments, you got benses, You've got surgeries, and you ain't pay for none of them. Man, I am in the wrong business. So you know you have like baby choppiadoas and you know they just getting Mom's coming and sneakers. You know,
she's just learning the ropes. But you know in Dominican Republic, there's like full blown like they will talk about it. They will get when I saw like an interview and they were talking on the radio and they were like, yeah, you can't get up in here if you're not paying my rent and if you're not buying me my cars and my surgeries need to be on point. That's like
a full blown Chappia. And she's open to it. And sometimes your family members can choppy you, Like last night we went to dinner and and and Bella was Chappiano man. She made me pay for the something he kind of she was like, yeah, you got this bill and people left me a message. They were like the that means like you let somebody choppy you take your money from take it. So that's my word I would explain to
you guys. So if I go out to lunch with Andrew and I'm like, yeah, you know I'm not doing good. You got this, and He's like, I got this, Andrew, So okay, let me take the money from and then if you get like a trip, yes, if you get a surgery, you the queen choppy surgery. Now what are what are these women that are having multiple surgeries by the way, everywhere You're just not following them, Like, if you don't tag your doctor in Colombia, I'm doing this,
they'll get them fake abbs to you. So my word of the day was choppy. Orda
