Episode description

Mark Coleman is on today’s podcast, and he is the author of From Suffering to Peace, Make Peace with Your Mind, and Awake in the Wild.

He’s the founder of the Mindfulness Institute and has an MA in clinical psychology and works as a corporate consultant, counselor, meditation teacher, and wilderness guide.

Mindfulness has gotten a lot of hype recently but Mark’s mission is to bring meditation and mindfulness back to its roots.

He has a unique definition of mindfulness being “clear awareness” and developed the “one” less mantra to truly focus on what matters in life.

Also, in this podcast, we discuss…

  • Mindfulness and cultural shift in the west in the last 20ish years
  • Mindfulness as clear awareness
  • The difference between being alone and being mindful
  • His mantra of “one less”
  • How using the lens of mindfulness to view death and live a more meaningful life

How often are you quiet and mindful with yourself? If ever? This episode will help bring you back to that.
