Episode description

Have rednecks evolved since the 60s to accept widespread individual freedom and equal opportunity? Maybe, according to Morgan Freeman; and maybe not for the whole country, according to Randy Newman’s song “rednecks”.

We discuss the idea that social freedom follows institutional freedom. Possible examples are: The war on drugs, the war on poverty, welfare, police immunity, and education choice
