Hello, beautiful glow getters and welcome back to Let's Glow Your Go-To podcast for all things self-care, beauty, and living your best life unapologetically. I'm your host, Jamie, and I'm thrilled to be here with you today. Today's topic is one that's been showing up a lot in our inbox, in our consult room and in our treatment rooms. It is semi-permanent makeup, laser brow removals.
So that is bad microblading, bad powder brows, or any tattoo brows that no longer serve your face or your confidence. Let me just say this upfront. If you've got brows, you regret, we've got your back. So let's talk about permanent makeup. it's actually semi-permanent makeup and it's meant to simplify our lives. We wake up with perfect brows, it saves us time in the morning What happens though when the color fades to blue or orange or green or black? or the shape just is not right for your face.
We unfortunately see this all the time, brows that were placed too high, too low uneven arches, shapes that don't flatter your natural bone structures and the colors can be a problem. even when the colors look beautiful at first, they sometimes can shift into something totally unexpected. let's talk about why this happens. Permanent makeup pigment is actually meant to fade over time, but how it fades depends on how it was placed and what type of pigment was used.
If the pigment was actually placed too deeply into the skin, your body will actually see it as a foreign object, and your lymphatic system kicks in and tries to remove it, and that actual process can leave behind only the heavier carrier pigments, which are typically. Black, green, blue sometimes, bright orange. I've seen it all.
And that's how you can start with, a really nice color at first, but then you end up with something that you're like kind of confused about and it's truly because that technician went a little too deep into the skin and it triggered your lymphatic system. Sometimes pigments can also oxidize in the sun. That means, they can change color from warm to cool or like a light brown to something more dramatic, like a pumpkin orange or even like a silver color.
this also can happen, even if the color was beautiful at first. So the good news is we can help fix all of this at GLOW permanent makeup pigment is actually designed to fade over time. And it's less concentrated typically than regular tattoo ink. and it should be deposited more superficially in the skin. The pigments actually contain smaller particles, which are key because they're easier to clear with your lymphatic system.
and this is one of the reasons why permanent makeup, laser removal is often much faster and more predictable than traditional tattoo removal. Now if it is placed a little too deep, that is okay because we can remove it with our technology and our training. and really most clients see a dramatic fading. Or a full removal in just three to five treatments.
We always go at the pace that is safest for your skin at GLOW, and our ultimate goal is simple to give you a clean, healthy canvas so you can feel confident again, whether you decide to just pencil moving forward or you'd like to try another round of permanent makeup, you will have a nice clean canvas to do that. Now if you're thinking, okay, laser near my eyes, what about on my face? That sounds super intense. And you're absolutely right to be cautious.
That's why expertise matters so much and the proper equipment as well. At GLOW, we have spent thousands of hours performing laser tattoo removal and permanent makeup removal, Me, myself, the owner of Glow Laser Aesthetics, I've trained with some of the best. Some things that can affect how many sessions you'll need include for one, your skin type, so what is your skin tone. also the number of permanent makeup layers or touch-ups you've had. Because every time we go over that ink, we are smashing a layer essentially, and the colors and quality of the pigment are a biggie as well. Other factors are, are there any scarring left over from previous work?
how well your immune system breaks down the pigment, and even how carefully you follow your aftercare instructions, but the biggest factors are the technology used and the experience of the provider. So we've got you on both those fronts.
