Hello everyone. Welcome to another week of Let's
Hello?
The
I've missed you.
I've missed You. I haven't seen or spoke to Hannah properly for what seems like weeks and weeks, but it's been like,
Oh my God, it feels like, yeah.
messaged you to us or you like hellos
Yeah, I received an eight minute voice note one day,
That's nothing. I've got more on me. More on me if you need it.
but then I replied to her with a five minute, so not as bad, and she didn't even reply. She probably didn't even listen to it.
but not until today.
There you go. See?
I'm useless on
Ah,
Honestly, it's, and what's even worse is I've stopped getting, like, you know when you get the push notification, say you've got a
yeah,
Well, I was bad before when I got notifications and just stop Notifica,
I was, I.
notifying me that I had some, so
Oh
I just don't even think to check it. Sometimes I leave

become this person, but I leave my phone somewhere and I just leave it for
That's great. That's a good thing though. That's good. I don't have any notifications on
that's
none. I can't cope because that would just distract me.
Yeah,
Mm. You know?
mean. It's like, ding, ding. Annoying.
And then I would look at it. So yeah.
true.
Should we get started?
Let's do it.
Hi, I'm Hannah.

day long.
Ah, speaking of witch, um. Happy Easter. Everyone. When this goes out, it's the day before Good Friday, so I'm intrigued. Do you celebrate Easter? What? What's your vibe on Easter?
freaking love Easter and I'll
Do you?
why. Because it's all about chocolate.
Well, yeah. So true. Well, it's, it's actually not, but yeah.
if you're religious, but. you are religious to chocolate, which I am worshiping it, then yeah, it is.
Fair play. Fair play. I like that. I like that.
I've always loved Easter and this year particularly, we, we are going in, well, I'm going in rich. Not
Nice.
when you have a child, it's just an excuse
Yeah. Is this, can she do be doing like treasure hunts and stuff? Egg hunts? Yeah.
she's not walking on her own, but she can walk us like with a little trolley and thiss. So we're
Oh, cute.
and,
Yeah.
some bits and bobs over the weekend with family. So I'm really excited. I've actually
Nice.
to decorate,
Christ.
do, like, I've got banner, like I have Easter, a
Oh my God.
and pieces.
Wow.
I've already gone to town. I've even bought like a little strip of fake grass and I'm gonna do like a proper like scene on my table
Oh my Jesus. Are you, are you gonna do a proper nice buffet in that? Nice.
not gonna do a buffet. We're gonna do a barbecue, but then we're
Yeah.
I know what the weather's gonna be like.
Yeah.
it outside and then bring it all in, and then
Nice.
Bits like
Yeah. Nice. It's, do you know what, it's weird because we, when we were kids, we, yeah. We always had the Easter egg hunt, and then we always, without fail, it was almost like Christmas day. So we'd sit down to a roast dinner. We always had a full Easter roast dinner.
Sunday, we, we, we always
Yeah.
like Christmas day. It was
Yeah, yeah, yeah. But when Martin's family didn't, so we've never really done anything because he is like, well, it's just fricking Easter. So at the minute we don't really have any plans. We, uh, we've got, um,
I've
yeah, but I'm up for it. I'm there.
Do you know what I found hard though because I've been given up. Dunno if anyone mentioned it. I've been
Oh, oh,
I've
she's mentioned it to me.
You cannot buy Easter eggs without UPF in. They're full of any, everything's got emulsifier in. It's really hard. So then I was like, well, I'll make my own, buy my own mold and make my own, but I
Yeah, but even that, well, so I buy my chocolate, I dunno if they'll have eggs. I buy my chocolate from like a Whole Foods website. It's called like real foods.com or something, and I buy all like the, you get it. It's almost like in like button form. Some of it does still have a, a soy, something in it,
or
but it's only like one thing. And then they say it's a very, very minor percentage. So like, it's not of a risk or anything, But there is also a lot of, of layer chocolate if it's dark, that it's fully organic and lint do, do you know what? I think it's actually Tesco. Tesco Chocolate. It's called a Dark Milk and it's got nothing in it.
buying, so I
Yeah. Isn't it banging?
Ecuador dark chocolate.
Yeah.
And it's the only one I've been able to find Tesco's finest brand is, and
Yes.
It's
Is it called Dark milk?
mine's just Ecuador. 70%
this one is a dark milk, so it's milkier dark, but it's not got any other le le, whatever they're called. They're called Litan
lesser
in it.
soil, whatever it is. Yeah.
I'll, I'll find it and I'll send you a picture. 'cause honestly is so good. I could eat a whole bar banging.
Nice. Oh,
Anyway, that's boring for everyone, but, uh,
thanks. No,
yeah, so, oh yeah, so Easter.
Yep. So Easter. Easter is Easter. And I wonder, do people have Easter themed weddings?
Yeah.
I mean, they've had Shrek themed weddings, so why
Probably someone's probably having an egg under their wedding. I've never seen one, but I've seen like Easter, um, Easter like colors, you know, the, the pastels and all those kind of bits and bobs. But do you know what I always say with Easter? For me, Easter is. It's that point where as soon as Easter's happened, that's when your weddings kick in. That's the start of wedding season. It's almost like the marker, isn't it?
And actually, normally we have weddings over Easter because everybody wants like the bank holiday. Yeah.
It's
But I haven't actually got any this year. Yeah. And which would normally mean that you is busy, but I haven't got any this year. Um, mine doesn't kick off till May this year. We are quite late this year, um, which I'm quite loving because, well, we start really late and then we've got, we are really busy for like eight weeks and then, uh, then, uh, it's a little bit calmer again, so, yeah.
I've got a busy, um, June this year,
Mm,
that's when it starts for me.
June is
June. Yeah. And it's later, isn't it? It's sort of, well, it goes into September, but it normally does anyway, to be fair. But it does feel busy at later this year. But yeah,
Well, mine has technically started early, although it's not weddings, it's corporate.
Yeah. So you've been away in Munich
I have, oh.
Fill us in. What have you
tell you how tired I am.
I bet you're knackered.
I did Haley across traveling and working in 10 days. I did 112 hours,
God. Oh my God. That's mad.
112. I know, honestly, you think on average people work a 40 hour week, so this was like, and I didn't have a day off for 10 days. Like I got it there. I did not stop for 10 days. I worked
continuous
which I was getting paid by the hour, so that's all right. But
Yeah. But still,
honestly, it just didn't stop. Um, the first couple of days we would like set it up and it was things like. We had to put all the shirts for everybody had requested like their sizes, so we bagged them all up. But the hotel wanted all the bags, like they wanted them per day for check-ins. So all the check-ins on Sunday, all the check-ins on Monday. So we did that and put them in alphabetical order, which to be fair, everybody raved about how organized the
Wow. That's right.
seamless it was, but it took us seven hours.
Oh my God. Oh, that's like gross.
packed up in order, honestly. So that was like Saturday. Then Sunday, we basically had this whole palava because everybody was supposed to get shirts and a jacket. Well, when we got to the hotel, so I got there Friday night, went to the hotel Saturday morning, and the hotel were like, we don't have any jackets. And we're like looking for all the orders, and we're like, what's going on? And then we noticed on the boxes it said box like three, four, whatever of 10. And we are like,
so boxes were missing.
No. Well, all the boxes were there. We had 10 boxes there. But the basically what had happened was we'd sent all the shirts to be laundered, so they weren't in boxes anymore, but we worked out that they would be in roughly around seven boxes. Then we had three boxes there, so we were like, so that would be 10 boxes, but there's no jackets. There was only one box of jackets. There was six jackets, and we were like. There should be like a hundred jackets plus.
So anyway, we're calling people, the marketing team that ordered them and all this. And anyway, it transpires that the company had missed an error where there was this error in the system and basically they hadn't sent the jackets. So we are like. Uh, it's it's cold. It's gonna be cold. So the first day, a couple of days was due to be cold. It was saying it was gonna be like down to minus three. Everyone's gonna expect a jacket. People are gonna be moaning if they're not got a jacket.
Yeah.
Like they might not have bought their own jacket 'cause they know they're gonna get one. Um, and we need these jackets. Well, it's Saturday, the event starts on Monday. People are checking in. Su majority of people are checking in Sunday. And the company are Dutch. Well if you know the Dutch, they do not work at weekends, so they're like. We'll go back to the factory on Monday. We'll get 'em out to you and they'll be with you Tuesday. And we were like, no, it's not good enough.
No, absolutely not. So basically we fought this poor woman who works there, say, poor woman, they should have got it
Well, it was an error that they
Ah, well
you know how well,
was thankfully South African. So she spoke to the whole team and company and they were like, no, we don't work on. Weekends. Like she said, she couldn't even get a hold of half of them because of Saturday she agreed to drive down. So she drove nine hours from, uh, Amsterdam kind of area. Uh, they're in, um, I can't remember what it's called now, but they're near that kind of way. She drove nine hours. Rotterdam, that's it. She's in Rotterdam. She drove nine hours to
oh my God.
With these jackets. Um, we put her up in a hotel for two nights, by the way, and she got to see the event still. So, so then Sunday afternoon when we got them at 4:00 PM we had to then pack 'em all again,
Oh
do the process again. Thankfully, that only took us a couple of hours and I kind of pushed that
Oh
else a little bit because I was like, I literally can't even I was so tired.
Alive at this point.
And, and also I was getting so many, like change people that are sick that couldn't come medicine at hotels, no, people change your dates, like flights being, you know, all these kind of shit I was dealing with. But yeah, so the event started Monday, honestly, never seen anything like it like. Basically they set, so it's a big construction expo, so anyone that's not, so it's a company called JLG.
They hire me to do their delegate management and then help on site with anything delegate related, meeting room related, transport related. That all comes to me. So it's basically having somebody that people can go to if they need someone. So, um. It's when I say like this stand, the stand, we had like, so it's all construction machinery, so we had like six massive machines in the stand,
That's so cool.
three meeting rooms, two kitchens, like a whole show truck. That was just one stand and there's hundreds of these stands. When I tell you right, my hotel was opposite the main entrance of, of the thing. It goes two ways. So you are in the middle and it, it took me 25 minutes to walk to our stand, which is on the right hand side.
Whoa. That's mad.
you an hour basically to walk across the whole place. It's the biggest construction expo in the whole world.
Wow. That's amazing though. But there was some really cool stuff there.
Yeah, I mean, there probably was, I didn't look, but
Didn't get a chance to look around.
also just, it doesn't interest me, you know, like, looking at diggers and construction and fork lifts and, and you know, the, the lifters and the scissor lifts and the, you know, no, no, no. Not,
no, no, no.
but like the caterpillar stand. I did go and look at that 'cause
That's cool.
Saying like, the tires were
a huge.
looking up at the bottom, the bottom of the, the thing
Isn't it might not how they get it all in there though.
I know right. Days, days and
Yeah, I
we got pictures, so the event finished at 4:00 PM Sunday and we just got photos to them. They've only taken like half of it down so far. Like it took like, it took our team 10 days to put to erect the stand, but some people had been there like two, three weeks.
hell. Yeah. I'm not surprised though, to be honest, at the scale of some of them. Like you say. That's so cool though. Did you meet anyone else in
Yeah. Like, so in terms of, uh, no, not in mind. No. I mean just people like at JLG. But in terms of staff, there was about, I'd say about a hundred staff from JLG. And then the rest was all customers, which is about another a hundred, all their customers. So the sales teams all come and bring their customers and show them stuff and get sales and blah, blah, blah. Um, but yeah, I've met some really, really nice people because I've worked for them before. But obviously teams change and whatever.
So. yeah. that was really nice. And yeah, it was,
really busy.
it was, yeah, there was a lot going on and some, but some days towards the end of the, so obviously the expo's really busy, like Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, really busy. Everyone wanted a meeting room, which all came through me. Everyone's coming to me. Obviously everybody leaves at last minute, so I'd started a whole WhatsApp group and you know, you put the schedule on each day. This is the meeting rooms for today. Let me know if you need one. Obviously people don't.
on the stand? Sorry. Or meet, oh my god. Bloody, how?
Yeah. They're like almost made out like containers, I suppose. Which I keep meaning to say to Martin that I really want an external office and like they erected
Containers.
10 days. So can't I have one in 10 days in office outside?
Yeah.
Uh,
are so good for
I know they don't look like containers, but you know what I mean? Like you get the vibe
Like is it prefab or whatever you call it when they're like, yeah.
but like one was like a restaurant and two meeting rooms, and then upstairs was another restaurant with a private terrace area. So people could hire that. But people would come up to me and be like, oh, I need a meeting room today. And I'd be like, yeah, no worries. What time? Oh, now. that, that was my
Um, okay.
Yeah. Oh, I'm not happy in this hotel. Can I go to this hotel? That was my vibe for four days. Then once it got to like Thursday and a lot, obviously Friday, Saturday, Sunday is norm is more like family days. People are bringing fat kids and stuff to look at the machinery. So by then it kind of dies off a little bit and I, yeah, by that point I was like, I'm just ready to go home.
Yeah. Like I've had
But yeah, it was long. And obviously going back to the hotel and. The only things I would say that it was, it was really, really good. It was a really good event. Everybody was really happy. Everyone was like, it was so organized, so well, like yeah,
like
happy. You know, there wasn't any major issues in terms of hotels and stuff, which is normally where your problems lie, and everyone was really happy to have had me there. The things I'll miss is I really liked doing that walk to the stand every day. Like it was almost like, oh, I get up, I leave at this time and I'm at work
Walk. Yeah. I suppose as well, like when you're self-employed, like obviously I know you're there, you're kind of like freelancing or whatever, but you're not, it's nice to go to like an a separate place of work. 'cause like I know that when you're working from home and stuff, you're just the same thing, isn't it? And it's just you. But actually when you're working with a team of people and then you're well walking somewhere, like I found that with freelance and I like that kind of team vibe.
the day and
Yeah, exactly. There's like a start and a finish.
for the first three days we had to work till late because, um, they had parties every night. So we hired the stand for extra years. So till 10:00 PM for three nights. But then the last couple of days, we finished at six. After six. So. And then I, but I wasn't working in the evening. I, I, I actually had that mental capacity of my laptop shut. I'm not working like,
for the
Yeah. originally I was like, oh, I'll get my laptop out in the evenings. But I didn't, I went back, I went to the gym. I like, yeah, I had my dinner. I watched some telly. Like it was really nice. I'm also
It's like a holiday.
I know I'm also not gonna miss having someone come in and make my bed every day.
Oh my
was nice. Clean towels and all that
Oh yeah. I would actually love for someone to come make my bed every day. You don't realize how good that is.
I'm gonna miss that, so Yeah. But no, I'm happy to be home. It was, yeah. long coming home. And also I, so everyone kind of left by lunchtime on Sunday. They just left like minimal staff, but I, they, typical corporate fashion, they really told me the plan, so I just thought I'd finishes at half four, but. No one. Our stand was dead all morning and it was basically everyone was just setting down, really like doing everything they could start setting down and
Yeah, like start
there and he was like just cooking up all the final food and whatever. So I was like, hmm. I could have really left at lunchtime, but my flight wasn't till 9:00 PM so I tried to ask British Airways the day before, 'cause everyone was like, oh yeah, we're leaving at lunchtime. So I was like, Jesus, I could have left
Yeah. Should be hanging around my own for nine hours.
so I, um, tried to drink British Airways. My return flight to Munich was 300 pounds, and they wanted an extra 350 to move my flight three hours earlier.
What?
absolutely not. What a joke.
Yeah.
So in the end I thought, do you know what? I haven't actually seen Munich. So I got the train into Munich and went and, uh, left my luggage at the station and went and had. Done a little bit of exploring. It was all right. It's not, it's not a big city, so you can get round it in a couple of couple of hours.
Oh, that's cool.
for a wander.
a chance to see it a little bit though, because I know you were hoping to at some point,
yeah, exactly. so yeah, I thought at least I've done it. I know now
50 quids are
I know.
an absolute joke. What a ripoff.
take. But then I got to the airport. I was like, oh, I'm gonna get to the airport like two hours early. So I know I'm there and I'm sorted. I'll have dinner in the airport. Worst airport ever.
Oh no. Why,
duty free.
yeah.
So your fags, your perfumes, your, your, your, your booze. Then there was, uh, like a WH Smith kind of vibe, you know, magazine
always a w Smiths,
think it was actually W Smith, but you know that vibe? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Books, whatever. And then the only food place was like, there was paninis. And then there was like chicken nuggets, wedges. Cheese. Cheese bites. That's it. That's all they do. so I had a panina and pat wedges, and I just felt rank
Yeah, that's like carb overload, isn't it?
they had this like ch like chicken noodle salad, like it was all, well it said salad, but it wasn't really, it was like teriyaki chicken and noodles, like a Wagga Mamas kind of vibe. And I was like, oh, do you, can you heat that up? And they were like, oh no, it's cold. I was like.
Ew. Uh,
I was rank,
disgusting.
I had a panini and some wedges so that I was a bit
had to slum it.
Yeah. Because then I'm sat there for two hours. Just what? Eat and take away
How long is a flight?
Uh, only an hour and a half,
okay.
but I didn't get home till one in the morning. know. So I was so tired and I think it's still like impacting me today on Tuesday. It's Tuesday today guys, so, yeah. But yeah, it went well. It is, uh, happening again in three years, so I'll see if they hire me again.
Yeah, hopefully,
Last time I worked them it was 2021, so yeah. Oh no, 2022. Now it's 2025. 2028
gone quick. That's gone real quick, isn't it? Uh,
yeah, I, it, it went quick. It felt like I was there for ages when I left my hotel room. I was like, I feel like I've been in this hotel room for decades. But at the same time, I dunno, it felt like it went, I don't know, mix of quick and
Yeah, it was just busy busyness.
That's what that's what I've been doing. How is your, how has your time been without me? 'cause we haven't actually recorded for two weeks because
no.
haven't been here.
Oh, well, I've been, um, been busy. I've been doing a bit of freelancing still, so that was, um, really good. So I got to do some really cool stuff for the place that I've been freelancing at. And, um, they do like a lot of stuff, events for like, well for big sporting events in London and around the, that area and some of the big hotels, Kensington Palace and the, the science and the history museums as well.
Have you been to Kenny P yet? Oh, love it. Love it. So
I really wanna go. Yeah, I really wanna go and I'm excited to hopefully maybe go at some point, but yeah, so, so hopefully you get to go there. But I am, but I've been doing some flowers for there just at their like
Yeah. Oh, I see what you mean. And then they transport it. Yeah, Nice.
Um, really nice team of people. That's been really good as well, like actually being able to work on a team, because normally it's just me making flowers and I've been quite
that's what I liked this week with the corporate. It's nice to be in a team, isn't it? And you get all the office politics and I'm
it. You're like, oh, but a gossip, eh, tell me more.
Yeah.
Uh, but no, it's been really good and I've enjoyed it and, um,
Have you seen any nice colors, any nice trends coming
Oh, um, do you know what? You just can't steer away from classic white and green. But there was a really cool flower combo where it was like dark blues and oranges and dark greens, um, for the science museum. So apparently it was for a, a, like a banquet underneath a rocket. So I thought I was awesome. Yeah, really cool.
But yeah, so just, just doing bits like that's, I feel like I'm not actually, I think it's good for me because when you work on your own, you don't really have anyone to be like, oh, that's nice. Like for me, a lot of what I do is visual and it is. It's kind of
yeah, yeah.
I find myself self like doubting some of the work I do sometimes it's nice
I'm the same.
someone be like, that looks really nice. And like they're all, they're all really good like that there they'll be like, oh, that looks really nice, or You've done a really good job of that. Or No, that
Boost your ego.
Yeah. But then they'll tell you if something needs to be done a bit different. 'cause obviously they're working to a standard and I totally get it. Like, and everyone has like a different style, so you kind of gotta fit in with what, how they want it. But luckily for me. The style there is very natural and very big and flowing. It is very like my vibe, so I'm, I'm really hoping, yeah, it's like a long-term thing, but yeah,
Nice. And you're learning stuff as well,
Totally. Yeah. Learn some really. So they don't use any floral foam, um, at all. So I've been doing different techniques and, um, using different kind of mediums to work with. And it's just been really, and that's been really good 'cause it's kind of teaching me how I could perhaps change the way I do things a little bit. It is not just good to save money for me, but it is also good for the environment of, which is like the main reason. But yeah. So yeah. Good. Good.
Nice, nice. Well, I need to give you an update because I'm sure I mentioned on the podcast, I'm, I'm sure I mentioned this about the never have I Ever Pod
is this where they said about wedding?
did we, talk about
yeah, we did a whole episode where we would clap back about it. Yeah.
And did I mention that the Never I Ever Pod had. Basically, which is dot, joel dot and his wife's pod had
They had said, yeah,
wedding industry is
yeah, yeah.
Well I'm just giving you an update. They did apologize
Did they? Ah.
They did a podcast and they said, they said, oh, we've had a few wedding industry supplies. Contact us. I dunno if that's a few of That's just me.
Is it just me and you?
Ah, it's just me moaning.
Just you and
but they said, you know, they, they kind of said it in jest, but they get, you know, they get that we work really hard and they don't wanna take that away from us and blah, blah, blah. So, yeah, I thought it was actually very good that
At least I addressed it because most of the time people don't, they just slid
Yeah, I thought that was good of them tr they, and they kind of said, you know, it was more from us being cheap skates than it is, you know, if people wanna spend money, great. Good for them. We're not telling you not to, you know, so That's good. Yeah. So that's
we'll accept the apology.
Yeah. And also in the news, um. This week I, again, I dunno if I've mentioned this. Look guys, I'm not gonna lie, I'm really fricking tired. I don't know my
I dunno where I'm, who am I?
I haven't got a clue what's going on right now, but, uh, I dunno if I mentioned that I was doing a Skype
Yeah, you said you were doing like a, you'd been asked to do an interview, uh, about, I can't remember what it was about though. Is that
It was about being a wedding planner, and one of the questions were, you know, obviously, you know, the, the price always goes up when it's wedding, but, um, does that mean that you earn loads of money basically? And I basically was like, that's a myth. Well, so it got released last week and, uh, they actually put the title as like wedding planner busting the myth of, uh, wedding.
busting bars.
They basically had the, in the head in that it's a myth. And I was like, yes, I'm so glad
That's really good.
And, and do you know what? I didn't even think anything of it because I, a lot of journalists I've realized over the years are freelancers, so people will use freelancers I like. So the sun, for example, doesn't have their own. So they probably do have their own team, but they use a lot of freelancers to write stuff or, I dunno if, I dunno if freelancers sometimes say, oh, I write an article and then they put it forward to mag to
Oh, I see. Like, oh, I've written this. Is this of interest to you in your paper kind of thing?
Yeah, so it was like an at Gmail account. It was like a Gmail account that emailed me. But anyway, so I didn't
is it?
a lot of it probably, I didn't think a lot of it, and she sent me the link and was it went to Sky News, but I had like a handful of people message me like, oh my God, I've just seen you on Sky News.
can you send me this link then
yeah.
we'll put the link up. We'll put the link up on our, um, on our stories. Yeah. After this episode airs.
Yeah, so people must actually read Sky News and have flick through in the
Ah, that's so cool. Hey, can you go? I wanna do one as well. What would mine be? What would mine
about being a florist.
Yeah, but
Yeah. Well,
no, I dunno.
so basically the, the part that the woman that I was speaking to does a, a feature on there every week where she talks about different jobs. So
that'd be a good one.
yeah, the previous week she'd done a driving instructor, and that week she was doing a wedding planner.
Oh my God, yes. The humble florist. I'd love to do one. I could go on for ages about it. Bow, the all, the whole work that we put in, it just goes unseen.
Yeah. Well, and they would send, they send you all the questions and then it's just helping people who might be like looking for
Yeah. Oh my God. Awesome.
So that was good. But yeah, so news,
News. News, newsy bits. What have we seen in the news this week? I think the biggest thing I've seen in the news this week, or I suppose it was the last week and a half, is about the Universal Studios, which they're building in Bedford, which is really cool because I was literally on our doorstep.
Yeah, I was about to say the first thing I thought when I saw that announced, 'cause it's been in the works for
yeah, I have heard things about it over the last couple of years.
now. The first thing I thought was, there's no way you're gonna move from your house now, is there? Your house is gonna be worth of fortune.
I've gotta wait six years until it's built
A hundred percent you'll be Airbnb and that out.
yeah. But maybe I'll just do that. Exactly. That's, that's the thing. And where I live, where I live in Bletchley is really close to the, so, so it's in Kemp? Yeah. Literally the A 4, 2, 1, like goes, it's really close. So I'm, I'm excited for
I said to mine, we are definitely buying a house in Bedford in the next
Oh yeah.
just to, just to Airbnb out.
Yeah, imagine not Disney.
Universal. Sorry. I'm not into this at all, right? So when you go Florida, there's Universal and then there's Disney. Is it not the same thing? Oh, fine. I'm sure it's Disney.
it's a uni. No, it's universal. A
So, why is everyone like, yay, Disney's coming to the uk I've seen loads of people saying, yay about
It's Universal Studios.
maybe I've just read it wrong. I just
Oh. Oh, well no, but loads of people have said that and then I'm like, then I got confused. But that's when I was looking at up and I was like, no, it is universal. 'cause at first I was like, oh my God, Disneyland. But to be honest with you, I'd be way more inclined to go to Universal, not Disney. 'cause I'm not into Disney.
I'm not into either. I
Well, I mean,
roller coasters, so it's
Oh my God. So funny story. I took Rich, bearing in mind I hate them. Richard hates them. I thought it'd be a great idea to go to Fort Park. A couple of years ago,
idea. Great.
Richard went on that nemesis like inferno, basically shit our pants and went home.
Oh, poor
a day out. But
Yeah, I mean, yeah. Great. it's great news.
boost for hospitality.
Huge boost for hospitality. I feel like maybe we're gonna be getting some universal related weddings. Is it gonna bring maybe more Americans even more, I mean Americans love coming to the UK anyway for weddings, but is it gonna bring in, I mean, they've got one in Florida, but will it bring them to, will it bring basically people that live up in other countries to us to have their weddings and also have like such a big attraction? It's just gonna put us on the
I think so. It'd be cool, wouldn't it, if you came over here, got married because bearing in mind, we have some beautiful wedding venues in this country. Um, to come here, get married, and then honeymoon and Universal Studios for a few days, like with all your guests or whatever, and then go home. But
it a bit more of a family trip. People that might not wanna be traveling all the way to Florida, but they're gonna, they wanna go to Universal, you know, people that live in like France, Spain, you know, all these different countries, Germany that wanna come and, yeah, it's great
cool. I'm loving it. And, uh, yeah, I wonder if wait isn't, I'm trying to think if Shrek is universal or Disney. No, it's Dreamworks isn't
work. Yeah,
cause I was like, well look, we could get like a full on Shrek wedding, but no,
How exciting.
brand.
We've also gotta bring up, you must have seen this bloody AI trend. I say bloody, I've been trying to get it to do me for
Oh, the thing in the box.
and the the toy
Oh, I haven't done it. Oh, we should do one each and put it on the, on the po, um, on the Instagram.
Let's do a podcast one. Let's do it. Honestly, I have been trying to do it for me as a wedding planner, but it could all only create like three images a day on the free plan. And anyone that's like, oh my God, chat GT is so clever. Which I do think chat GT is very clever. I'm quite pro AI in, in ways, but um. They're like, oh, it does it so quick. It fucking doesn't. You have to, honestly, the amount of times it is brought one back to me and I'm like, that does not look anything like my photo.
So I've gone down the route now of having a Fisher Price toy of me
what Lily loves vision price,
there you go. The real ones just are weird. Like your face is just weird.
I know what you mean. It's very like, yes. What's the word? Um, airbrushed. So airbrushed in
just looks nothing like you. and you're like, and then it kept making my legs really fat and then it made me
How dare you?
like, are my legs that fat? Yeah, but we should definitely do one of us. But I was just thinking about like cool ways, like that you could do that kind of thing as like bride and groom. Groom and groom, bride and bride. Like, you know, if you wanted something fun like cartoon vibe for like, you know, um, I did. Um. For my guest instead of a guest book I had, um, a big frame. Uh, everybody signed around a photo of us.
But you could do something like fun, like cartoony of YouTube or you know, like even like a cake topper or something. You could probably, I dunno, there's probably people out there that could then print in 3D like, you know, like your stationary if you wanted something fun, a bit more cartoony.
it? Like whether
can do Barbie. Yeah. you can do Barbie vibes. You can do like, you can do any vibe you want. So I've gone down
cool. I see what you're saying.
but you could do Barbie route, you can do a realistic route when it actually looks
Oh,
I don't think that works. So that's the one a lot of people have been doing, but I don't think it looks anything like me. But if you wanted to do like superhero route, you could do that like Yeah, for like you're stationary and stuff.
I think it's, I. Yeah. No, but that is a good idea. Like you could do it like a, a as an alternative guest book, couldn't you? Like if it was quick enough and you had like a laptop or it was like a screen set up, someone could, you could go over and each guest could, like upload themselves into
Oh yeah. That's a cool idea. Yeah.
or something. I don't
Yeah. There must be ways of, yeah, we're doing that now. Start a business. But yeah, anything that you wanna include, like in your stationary, something a bit different. I thought it was quite cool. You turn yourself probably into like a Disney princess or something like,
I'm, always up for new ideas, new things. For
if you want, especially if you want something a bit like alternative and cool. You know, maybe like cowboys, turn you both into cowboys, you know? Yeah. I quite like it. I think it's cool, but I mean, the trends do my head in a little
Oh, I get annoyed with it. I feel like once something goes on Facebook, like
and it's just too much.
it's just everywhere. And you're like, well now I don't wanna do it 'cause everyone's doing
Yeah, that's what I mean. I've taken four days trying to get my own right and now it's nearly right.
it's gone. Trent's gone mate.
Sick to death of seeing AI fucking dolls. Oh
we're gonna do one of us, so
Yeah, we are. Um, I, another one that's a bit more serious, a little bit more, oh, that've seen this week. And actually I wanted to raise it 'cause I've also seen it on Facebook. So, um, a local venue to us. Hardwick Moe, I think, I wanna say it's Hardwick Moe. Have you heard of them?
No, I don't
It's in Bedford. I'm sure
have a look. I
Hardwick. Yeah. Hardwick Moat. But basically the news report was saying that they've been denied planning permission that they've asked to have a permanent structure essentially. Um, now the reason that I wanted to flag it on here was it I then saw from the venue a post saying they wish that Scott, uh, that BBC had got in touch with them. 'cause it's actually not correct,
Oh.
like. That they haven't just been denied permission. Their venue's been closed down. Yeah.
on their website now. So it looks to me like they offer like a glamping village and then they have like a marquee up for weddings.
And I think essentially the way the news article was written was that they were trying to make it permanent. So a permanent marquee and permanent glamping was, I think at the minute you, they put, put it up on a Friday, take it down on a Monday kind of thing. You hire your marquee and you.
But yeah, so the council then said to them, oh, because the amount of weddings you're doing, you need to make, or, because they would, you know, probably applying for temporary event notices, quite often you're gonna have to clo like you're gonna have to apply for, uh, for a permanent venue and that it's been denied
so wait, have they had to close even though they've got weddings booked?
Yeah. Isn't that
Oh no. I hate that when I hear about
about weddings. Actually, let me read out the actual art of sort what they posted. Um, so they said, um, the Hardwick team would like to address a blow article that appeared in BBC Cambridge News today without us knowing if only they were have approached us, we would've loved the opportunity to say about how the local council closed down our small business. That brought so much joy and magical memories to local customers.
Couples, Hardwick Motors create weddings, was created by a small team, myself, my husband, Um, during Hardwick season where events were only held on Saturdays until 11:00 PM uh, they never underwent any major groundwork. In regards to the article, we are upset. We never got our say. The council made us apply for planning permission for a temporary structure after a long and very draining process. But men, mentally and financially, we had no choice but to close our beloved small business.
We worked so hard for to date, we're still not entirely sure why the planning was refused. They say permitted development was denied, but we are on the understanding this only applies to permanent structures. I wonder if maybe 'cause it was taken so long, they just hadn't taken any new
Maybe they put it on hold because they weren't able to. maybe when you apply for permission. Perhaps in the meantime, they, like, while it was all going through, they probably weren't
just didn't take
or maybe they
how sad is that? Do you know? It actually makes me angry because, and they've kind of mentioned this at the bottom of the post, but. Come on. People not watching the farm,
Oh.
DI farmers need to diversify now and people are trying to do this. Like we are just gonna end up with no farms and no British farming because people are trying to diversify to make the, to be able to make money. They're
be profitable.
Yeah, they're doing weddings on a Saturday from what? May to September Probably. Yeah.
contested it?
They've got acres and acres and acres of land. Well, by the, by the looks of that. Nope. They don't really know why it's been denied. The council have just denied it. No one's
isn't it?
it. They've just said no. And it's so bad because money like that is the profit that brings it in because as from the farm that Jeremy Clarkson has shown us, they make no money from farming anymore. So you need to do other things to make
That's it. And so they're doing what everyone like should be doing. Like you say, they're trying to diversify, they're trying to be, you know, profitable in other ways with the land that they've got because there is such a vast amount that they have, but then they can't like.
If they can't plant on it or it's not viable financially, like it's a great way, like everyone's got really into these kind of like teepee glamping festival style weddings and they'll, they can't, but I'd like to know why it's been denied.
know. Hopefully we'll find
Yeah.
I, I feel like it's one of those things with the council, look at what they show on the farm. I just think it was
Yeah, exactly. They just don't care, do they?
it's just so frustrating and I really feel for them. And if anyone is listening that got married at that venue, or they were due to get married at that venue, please get in touch. And, uh, yeah, really sad. Sorry to end newsy bits on a
That's all right. It needed to be brought up though because it's just, you know, I feel like if there's a venue near you doing these sorts of things, and there's a way, I dunno, maybe you know that they've applied for plan permission or they're trying to. I dunno, upscale a bit or whatever.
Just, just support them if you can, like even just, um, like a letter to your council or something just to say how much, because at the end of the day, it will be bringing money into the local, that local economy in some way because people will be using local suppliers. So it's all good. It's all good for your village and for your town, so, yeah, exactly. So we've got listeners questions now and um, this one's come through on Instagram. Uh, so should I be planning or practicing the kiss?
Um, I don't want it to look staged, but I also don't want it to look awkward. I've never been told to kiss under instruction before, so the idea feels a bit odd. Are we likely to already be facing each other at this point, or holding hands? Where's the best hand or arm placement for the photos? I've been to so many weddings and I can't remember what other couples have done. I'm very much at the overthinking stage if you can't tell.
Aw.
Oh, I love this question. That's so cute.
I do, and I think the only thing I could say is just go like,
do whatever.
I feel like you're overthinking
totally. I mean, I don't even remember, I just remember we just did like a little kiss, you know? And like, I just feel like you just naturally did it. I, I
got a picture where Martin's literally like grabbed my head and I you, there's a picture where it's just the back of my head and his hands, like, here, like, give me a kiss. Which is actually quite nice. I like it. I mean, Yeah. I, I feel like, do you know what, I see so many TikTok trends now where it's like, oh, practice walking back down the aisle
Oh, oh, the dip. Ugh, ick.
out.
an ick. Anyway, can I just say, I want it to be told here now that the dip is an ick, and if you're doing it, you're an icky, ick, cringe. Okay.
That's all you people.
Just kiss each other and walk back down like no one cares. Yeah. If you're dipping each other, no one's gonna be like, woo. Yeah.
I also feel like that's pressure. That dip ain't easy.
No, I'd probably get dropped on the floor. I'm quite heavy. I'd be like,
Can you imagine? Imagine if that goes wrong, that's gonna look shit if that
That'd be jokes
I've seen so many people on TikTok that are like, Oh,
Oh, Don.
for your wedding planning. Make sure you're practicing the dip.
not a top tip, mate. Listen to our podcast, then you'll know what the top tip is. And the top tip is to not do it. 'cause you're not cringe. Oh
so I would just say, just go
See how the moment takes
Yeah. Honestly, on the date, I, I am completely with you there. You are very much at the overthinking stage. You need to put that thought to one side. Don't fucking worry about
worry about it.
The only thing, other thing I'd say is don't do tongues. That's
I,
cringe too.
oh, sorry. Yeah, that actually made me feel a bit sick then. Sorry. As you can tell, I'm not into public displays of
don't get the tongue.
Ugh. Oh God. Oh. Oh, thank God I've not eaten. 'cause I'm fasting, by the way. Ugh.
And on that note, think I sauce for this week, isn't it?
