Hey, hey! Welcome to part two! Woohoo!
part. Yay
Part two. Basically, we rambled on for so long last time that we thought Let's just split this into two bits. So here's Yeah! So here's the second part. Shall we go?

wet! Woo!
I reckon that's the best one we've done, you know? That was well in time. Someone asked, one of my friends asked me, do you record that every time? I
Yeah, people ask me that. We should just record it and then use it.
like, I mean, it
Yeah.
beyond my editing skills to be fair. Oh dear. So I want to know what the cuisine was like in Costa Rica.
We went to a couple of, they basically call them sodas. And the only way that I can describe it is basically like, how we have a fish and chip shop. Essentially, I suppose. So you go in and well, actually, I suppose a fish and chip shop's got loads on the menu, but basically you go in, it's basically like a shack on the, it could be on the side of the road or in a town or whatever. And then there's, you can sit in there. There's like seats and stuff. And then there'll just be somebody.
In there like cooking in the kitchen and you'll literally get an offering of like two different dishes The one that I always had was like a chicken. It was basically chicken rice, but they'd put like this salad on the side with this dressing which was amazing. And then like big like plantain crisps that you like scooped your rice up with. But honestly, I don't know what they put in this rice, but it was incredible. I keep craving it actually. That's
you should
so good.
like, recreate it at home.
Oh, I bet I can.
I went to Barbados, I actually bought a book because we like the food so much. They did like a, like a local cookbook.
Oh, nice.
And they sell this thing which is
Yeah.
like macaroni, cheese and tomatoey sauce.
Oh, nice.
I bought the book and made it at home. It's really
Nice.
Yeah.
think never things never taste the same when you do it yourself though.
You've got that honeymoon, you know, what do you call it?
don't know.
Everything tastes better on honeymoon.
Yeah. And they just taste better when they do it, doesn't it? And, and also, I don't know what we think is like, how you cook things. It's like, well, you cook it in and, you know, things are different over here, aren't they? But yeah, and then like the drinks were amazing. You'd literally go in and they'd ask you what flavor of juice you wanted. So I would always have mango because I love mango. And they'd literally, in a blender, you'd see them do it. And they'd just put in loads of mango.
Bit of like, coconut milk and water, blend it up, and you'd literally get a, like, a massive pint glass of this juice, which was just insane. And also, you'd so the chicken and rice was on a massive, like, oval plate. You'd get a huge portion. So we'd get, like, two of that, so one each, a juice each, and it would be, like, ten dollars.
so good.
I know,
Do you know what?
good.
Every time someone goes away on holiday, they always say to me, Oh, we did this and this and it cost like, not a lot. And I'm like, Oh my god, that sounds so good. When I go away, I never, I never come across these places that are like,
Well, I think,
go into like, the actual like,
yeah, you can't go to the touristy parts.
like, out actual,
Yeah.
town or whatever.
I will say though, is that everything else, these are just like, these sodas are just like shacks on the road, they're the kind of place you go for lunch, you wouldn't go there for dinner, they're not even open at dinner time I don't think, it's like a day thing.
Yeah.
restaurants are the same price as the UK.
okay, I
Yeah, wherever you go as well, like we'd be back in the back end of the mountains and they'd be charging, it's the same price as like America UK, so, yeah.
So is there like a main town or like a city there and then you've got like jungle? How is it
Yeah, so you've got San Jose is the main city, which is where the airport is, and that's where all, like, a lot of the people live. Well, it's quite weird. It's a bit backwards. So, you know how normally you go somewhere and the city's the tourist bit? The city is not the tourist area. If anything, they tell you to avoid it at all costs. We did go there for a day. I thought, I didn't think it was as bad as everybody makes out, but apparently it's quite dangerous and stuff.
But that's where a lot of people live. People live and then then you go to, there's all different areas. It depends what you want. A lot of people go down South if they want to go like surfing and on the coastal areas. We went to a place, we went to all different places, but what two of the places were a bit more touristy called Monteverde and La Fortuna.
That's where, so when we, Monteverde is probably not as touristy, but La Fortuna had loads of Americans there because that's where the Americans kind of go on their. Holidays, same as we'd go to like Spain, France, Italy, they're going South America.
I see.
So yeah, it was really good, but the food's so fresh and like, I struggle a lot when I go, it's like when I go abroad, my stomach just knows that, Oh, you're on holiday, you're abroad. I'm going to really play up and be an asshole and cause you loads of pain. I'm going to ruin your trip. But I had no problems at all. And I think it's because everything's so fresh. Like they don't have. Stuff imported. Like, if they can't grow it, they don't have it.
it,
Yeah, I think that's our issue, is like, we import so much stuff, so it has to have so many preservatives to make it last.
the
Yeah.
I mean, it never used to be like that, did it? Like, back in the
No.
we could grow here. But now, yeah, everything's got like, oh, what do you call it? It's got that weird
Preservatives?
or
Oh, I don't even know. Yeah, probably.
and things that like, keep it all, basically a lot of ultra processed gunk that just
Literally, yeah.
even stuff that you think is fresh ends up being like,
Oh, yeah, nothing's fresher.
Like an avocado, it's like, super processed.
Well, yeah, because we don't grow up Avocados come from like, South America. Like, so, like, well, there they were so fresh. The avocados were amazing. Well, you think they have to be on like, a ship for like, God knows how long, because they have to be fertilised.
Yeah. Yeah.
you know, had something put on them to keep them fresh. But, but yeah, no, really, really fresh. All the fruit and stuff is really lovely. We love the sodas. There's a lot of Italian restaurants there. So we eat quite a bit of Italian as well, I don't know why.
food.
Me too, but a bit random in Costa Rica, but. There you go. Yeah, no it was, it was very, very good. Yeah? Yeah,
sounds lovely. I mean, I always like trying, like, whatever their local dishes are and
you've got to, haven't you? Yeah. Yeah.
it's important when you, especially when you're going to somewhere that's a bit more interesting. Like, I mean, if you go to, like, Spain, really, like, yeah, they've got really nice food, but you can get, like, I mean, you get that here anyway, don't you? But whereas you go somewhere like Rica, it's just a bit, a bit different. So I feel like,
Yeah, and I'm glad we did something that was a bit like, I just don't really understand how people can just kind of like sit on a beach all day or by the pool. Like that would just drive me insane personally. So I'm just glad that we went for something. We did get to that point where we were like, Oh, we do just want to chill now, but that was like the last couple of days. But yeah, we just did so, so much stuff.
And I think you've got to really, you know, You can't go, you know, like the Maldives and stuff sounds brilliant, but, like, I'm really scared of the sea. So, if you go somewhere, like, has all the, you know, like, the Maldives is basically like water excursions. You look
then it's
Yeah! Exactly!
Yeah,
scuba diving, I've done I've done snorkeling and I'm just not, I hated scuba diving, I could not, I was awful. The ears, the pain in your ears.
it really claustrophobic
ya?
I didn't like I did it. I was glad I did it so that I could say I've done
Yeah.
I wouldn't do it again didn't like it
No, and I've done snorkeling, I don't mind snorkeling, but, Yeah, but again, it's just very like, you know, the boats take you out to certain areas and it's quite, you know, everybody goes there. I remember going on like snorkeling when I was in Egypt or something. There was just like kids like kicking the coral and stuff like Yeah, it was like really bad. It's just you know, it's just just not for me. It's just not my kind of vibe So yeah, I'm just glad that we did something that was very
that's
us
you have isn't it with a honeymoon because obviously like you just had a wedding so it's been quite full on and I suppose if you want you can either go like full relax where you just do nothing but
Yeah,
the beach and sun lounge or whatever
yeah
like use it as kind of like a holiday of a lifetime let's go and like do something adventurous that we really want to do but
got to be something that you would, I feel like that you'd never go again or, you know,
I mean, we didn't really do that. We went to Cape Verde. So basically, we didn't know much about it, to be honest, before we'd gone.
yeah.
isn't actually much to do there other than sunbathe.
Yeah.
was absolutely beautiful. Like, it was lovely. Like, it was like cocktails all day. It was amazing. And they were all like really fresh and really nice and the people were lovely. But the actual, sort of, island hasn't been there. I don't really got much to do there. They don't have a lot of, sounds bad but they don't, you know like, some places have a lot of history and there's a lot of
Yeah.
much like that there. And we did a few, like, trips out but it wasn't very,
What was it? Was it like an all inclusive resort kind of thing?
Yeah, so we basically stayed in an all inclusive hotel, so the whole island's mainly all inclusive resorts.
But we didn't really know that because I'd got a lot of information from like family members that had been and they said like, there's loads to do, like you can go, you can see the sharks, and there was like an island tour, and we, to be, the best thing we did when we were there was we saw turtles laying their eggs and going back, so that was amazing, that was actually incredible, and I just Did shed a little tear because it was really, it was really sweet.
Oh my God. So that was really cool, but otherwise there's not a lot to do there. But I think that if, if your idea of a great holiday is like all inclusive cocktails laying in the sunlight, it's hot all year there, like beautiful beaches. Then it's, then, then it was incredible.
just think you go somewhere clo If you're literally gonna Like, I know people that literally go to an all inclusive resort and do not leave. And I think,
Yeah. Yeah,
a lot less Like, a lot quicker journey.
exactly. I mean, we We literally like, don't get me wrong, I love, I love a good sunbathe, I love the sun,
yeah.
I do, but I can only do it for a couple of days and then get bored.
hour.
end up hiring a car and going off and, yeah, I need at least two days just to like,
can't sunbathe and it ages
Oh, Richard can't.
to? It
age is you. I mean, I think, I think I look quite youthful. But, no. Yeah, I know it is to be fair. But, I mean, I always wear a good old Factor 50 and then I just lay there and, ah,
Fair
chill.
I wear factor 50 and sit in the
age 20 years, come back. Who's this old bag?
you tan for like a couple of weeks and then it goes
Oh,
so what's the
dear.
no I don't
I'm actually normally used to getting my builder's tab on about, but
Yeah,
haven't been outside much. Yeah, that's good. Yeah.
yeah. And quite a lot of people, when you research Costa Rica say that they have a lot of problems with their like the car hire rental place, but
Oh really?
We got a good price. Yeah, it was good.
Did you do it when you got there or did you pre arrange it?
Yeah, yeah,
Okay.
Yeah, so we did that. I mean, the guy said to us when we picked the car up, like, be careful. Cause if you're speeding, like the police come down really hard on you. Honestly, there's no way you'll be speeding on them roads. They are.
Dodgy.
like the main roads in the city are insane. People literally drive like maniacs. I've never seen anything like it. And then, there was like this road that we were driving from one town to another. And it was a two hour drive. And it looked, like I said, it looked like a main road. It was, I swear to God, for two hours it was like a dirt track. Like, with
Oh my god.
just like a gravel road, essentially.
That's so funny.
Google Maps. What is going
Yeah. What's going on here? They drive on the same side as us?
other side.
Oh, see, I couldn't, did you drive or did Martin Drive?
but we don't mind that cause we go to France and
Oh, of course you do. Yeah. Oh, that's fair enough. See, I would be like, oh God.
a car, so he was sat the other side, but he got used to it quite quick. But it's fine. So, but yeah, I just, I like driving, being in the car and stuff. Cause you just see so much more stuff and you think, Oh, that looks cool. Let's stop here. And quite a few times we'd stop at places like the view would be insane. And we'd be like, Oh, let's pull into this lay by and let's take some And yeah.
Yeah.
that. I think
Oh, I love that. I, I love hiring a car. It gives you that freedom, doesn't it?
Yeah,
You're not like trapped in your resort or whatever. You can just go and do what you like. But how did you how did you actually book your honeymoon in the end? Did you do it for a travel agent or?
all ourselves. I think I mentioned before that I use TikTok a lot
Yes, yeah.
booked our flights direct. So we actually, and again, I've mentioned this before, but so we did get a cheeky little business class flight on the way
Cheeky.
purely because we had loads of avios So we were a bit like, why not? But I
Yeah, that's good.
Experience and like I said, we didn't really pay for it because we had the avios or avios or whatever you call them points. So,
Yeah.
really worth it. I think it's just like, a nice experience, like you get on and you get a glass of champagne and you get a full on like,
Oh, that's nice.
yeah, and then you've got like a proper bed to sleep on. Although, I still don't sleep because the noise of the plane, like how anyone
it's like really loud. Were
put your feet up and like watch, watch films and stuff. So yeah. And the
you and Martin like next to each other or? Lovely.
good. So yeah, I was quite impressed by the food to be fair, even coming back. We were just like in standard quality. Class coach or whatever it's called and we actually did get emergency seats. We had extra leg room, which was good. But Even the food then was was good to be fair. I
Who did you fly with? Oh, okay. Yeah.
kind of a foreign one Airline, but but under the british airways umbrella, like they're all the same basically yeah, it was good. So I say it's definitely worth it But the way that we got our avios points was we got like an amex gold card Which you do
Yeah.
for but I can't I don't know what the annual fee is But when you first get it you get like an extra like so many thousands of points And then every time we would just buy like fuel on it food shopping and then just pay it
Yeah.
Like, as
That's a good
as soon as we'd put the, the, use the
Yeah.
put the money straight back in. But you're constantly getting Avios points. So we got enough to like, go on business class flight, come back. I think our flights return.
did it take you to kind of like, amalgamate that amount of points? Did it take you a long time, or? Ahhhh.
we got engaged. He knew we were getting engaged. That must have been like June 22. And we booked it.
It's just pretty good, there's not a, yeah.
book it until December 23. So, yeah,
That's not bad, really. Yeah, and you got enough to take you to Costa Rica, that's pretty good. Yeah,
like that for both of our tickets returned. So that's pretty
that's really good. That's, especially because you went business class on the way there. That
probably would
good.
like three or a couple hundred
Yeah, yeah.
the other
Well, why not? Treat yourself.
sign up to the gold card You get a companion voucher or or it's once you've spent so much money on it You get so you basically get a flight for free So you pay for one and
Wow.
free So we basically already had a free flight and then the second one got and then obviously you pay for your upgrade But
interesting actually. That's a good tip.
yeah
For people. If they know they're going to, obviously if they're engaged, they're going to be going on a honeymoon.
and I definitely think it's worth
Look into that. Yeah. Yeah. Hmm. Yeah. Yeah. Don't,
So, yeah, like, we yeah, I definitely think it makes it like a nice experience. Like, oh, we're going on a honeymoon. Like, if you think, if you're a bit like, oh, we want to do something different. But at the same time, I was like, Bye. Bye. we both said we wanted to travel like long distance because we did toy with like, should we just do Italy or a Greek island, but we were like, you know, we've been to Italy a lot in our van and things like that.
And we were a bit like, if you're gonna fly business class, you want to, well, a lot of short haul flights don't even have, like, they have business class, but it's just a nicer seat. They don't have like the whole experience.
yeah, like with the bed and yeah.
these avios points, we need to use it to do a long
Actually, yeah, make it worthwhile.
Because normally that would cost
yeah.
to do that
Yeah, you wouldn't normally pay for that, would you? Like, you wouldn't, you wouldn't splash out on Like, I personally wouldn't, if I even had the money, I probably wouldn't spend that sort of money just to go
no.
business class, because I just think, oh,
know
it's But actually, really, is it Oh, is that good? LAUGHS LAUGHS Ooh. LAUGHS Yeah.
we spoke about it before again, we have spoke about it, but we did use Prezola for our gifts and it did
Yeah.
really well. We literally got so many gifts like the last couple of days. I think people were starting to think like, Oh, what do they want? And then looked at the website and
Yeah, then got you.
Yeah, we did get some cash. But, yeah, we just put that into like our account honeymoon funds
Yeah.
had our own money that we'd saved obviously to put towards it. But yeah, literally in the end our preso on our preso every single excursion that we wanted to do, Was booked and paid for, which was good. So the way it works, I'm going to explain a little bit about Prezola, because I don't know if people fully understand the in depth. So when you actually set up your Prezola, Prezola very much push you to use gift service. So create a gift list of like, saucepans and, God,
Yes.
of
Oh, I remember, I think someone bought us a picture frame.
There you go, yeah. But you, but Prezola will only show you Will show your guests what you've put on your gift list, right? So,
Yeah.
a backend bit on your account that you can do gif gift cash donation ca cash gifts. And you can, again, you, they, they try and push you to use that cash to buy stuff off
Yeah, yeah.
is a bit where you can tailor it and set up your own. And it's not very clear as to how to do it, but there is a way of doing it. You've
Yeah.
look
Just like, make your own. Yeah, that is pretty good.
oh, a hundred pounds and that would be like we went ziplining, right? So, ziplining
Yeah, yeah.
So you set it up, you put, create a little picture. So, I downloaded pictures from the websites and the stuff we wanted to do. But that hundred pounds, what happens is, Is that then, on a date that you set, so we set it to like four days after the wedding, it then sends you that money into your bank. So what I did was I used our own
Yeah.
buy all the
Yeah.
a few weeks before, and then we basically just got that money back. And I knew, right, this is how much money was spent on excursions, this is how much money, when we get the brazola money, pays back,
Yeah, yeah, that's really good. That's that's basically what we did as well because we had the same thing So we'd set it up so that the money went into our account two days after our wedding, but we'd already paid for certain things
And they
So yeah
So it's not bad at all. So if you get a
Yeah, no
quid.
Yeah, yeah and I don't think that's bad actually for the convenience of it and the fact that you can like tailor your gifts so that People and I really loved it. It was almost like people were like They were like interested in what you were going to be doing so they were like oh well we've paid for you to have like cocktails on the beach or like your zip lining or the waterfalls that you could go and see and so you kind of feel like you've bought that you you have bought that for them
yeah.
you can like take photos and send it to that person and
Yeah, we
yeah so that's nice.
take a photo and send it to them and be like, thank you so much for this gift. And
yeah,
nice. And I think people are more likely to do it because like a couple of people said to us how much they loved like looking through and like seeing what we'd put on there. And yeah, so I definitely think it's worthwhile.
yeah I like, I really like that as well. I think it's a good.
didn't
Good little wedding hack. Oh,
we wanted to do were paid for. We didn't actually use masses of money so we actually have got some money left, so I think we're going to book a weekend in London. I really want to go and see the Harry Potter play. I've wanted to go for ages, so we're just going to book a weekend in
yeah, go and do that. That's nice. That's nice to have a bit. Yeah, why not? We did that. We used some of what was left for us to go to Cornwall in September. So like a year afterwards, we went to Cornwall. That was
love
really nice.
But yeah, I would say like, you know, I was quite surprised at the the gifts that people got us It was it was really amazing. We were really really grateful So yeah, I think some people really stress about being able to afford a honeymoon But maybe even if you just took a few days off After the wedding and actually the wedding, I did a wedding this weekend and they, they are gonna do the same. So they, I don't think necessarily 'cause they were waiting for like honeymoon funds, but
Yeah.
like what they wanted to do or, and just hadn't got round to booking a honeymoon. So you could literally wait until the day after your wedding, chilling in bed, read
Yeah.
lovely, this is how much money we've got, and then just go
Where should we go?
days away.
Yeah, get a better deal if you do it last minute as well.
Yeah, even if you do
Yeah.
you go, but, or even if you, you know, you leave it a couple of days. I don't know, like, a lot of people I see on Facebook groups and stuff take like the week leading up to the wedding off, and I just don't get that. Like, use that time, take the week
Use that time after. Yeah, you don't really need that time, do you? I don't think.
away for a week,
Yeah, go away, go abroad.
do some nice day trips or, I don't know, in the
I think as well, like, you don't, that time beforehand is, I feel, unless, even if you are doing everything yourself, by that time everything's done. Or at least it should be. Like I don't know why you'd need to take I mean I can understand people taking like the day before off so they can sort everything out organise, get everything to the venue, whatever if you're doing that but I don't think you need to take like a week off beforehand do you?
proper DIY ner, then you probably do. But also, surely
don't do that.
organised. Like, and get
Yeah.
your own stuff, surely you do that, like, a month before, not the week before.
Yeah.
to But yeah, no, it was really good. Do you know, I, people keep asking me for photos, but I didn't hardly really take any photos. I think Martin, we mainly use Martin's phone, and I still haven't got all the pictures off of him. I need, need to do that. But it's really one of the, trips we couldn't do, so we were trying to like, do pictures on our trips, and then send them to people who had bought it for
yeah.
We went to the Bioluminescence Water, which was
Oh yeah. I really wanted to see that. I know, obviously, but you said you couldn't. Yeah.
it, like, but it's so cool. Like, the guy was saying, like, it was a really good night to go. And we could see, like, all different blues and greens. You're literally
Oh, that's amazing.
And it's all on your hands. That is so, it's really, really cool. Yeah, definitely advise
what time did you have to go?
We went at
Was it like late?
Because the
Oh, okay.
Costa Rica is, all year round, so every single day of the year, it gets dark at 6pm. Because they're so
Oh, of course. Yeah. That's interesting. Yeah, but that is, we're so used to having like lovely long evenings when it's summertime.
Yeah.
I think I remember that from Mexico. 'cause they're really close to the equator as well, aren't they? They're like, I think, where is Mexico? Near Costa Rica? Yeah, yeah, yeah,
Similar
yeah, so, yeah, I remember that was getting dark at like six o'clock
yeah.
of time. So what was your favorite trip while you were there?
There was a couple of ones we really loved. We went to these waterfalls which were insane. It was really, really good. And there was loads of different ones. And it was, it was dead. We felt like we were like some of the only people there. Which was good. And We also did zip lining in the jungle, which we've mentioned. That was
Oh, yes.
the first zip line I did. I don't, I, I was shocked. I actually continued because I'm a bit of a scaredy cat, if I'm honest.
Oh my god.
a scaredy cat. And the first zip, I mean, you're in Costa Rica, so there's no real kind of like heath health and safety there. They just put on a video, off you go, you've got a little helmet and
See ya.
But they don't really explain like, what's gonna happen. You UK, I feel like they really like, you know, you know, This is what's gonna
Oh yeah, we're like, if anything we're too health and safety. It's like, too much. Overkill.
and this is what's gonna happen
Yeah, yeah. So we're used to that.
literally just off you go. So what I didn't realize was there was a board at the start of each one that kind of expla that said, you know, what, what type, you know, whether it's the longest one or the tallest one or the fastest one or whatever. And how tall, it would tell you how tall they are and how long they are. But obviously your first one, you don't really know what that means. And I didn't even notice
Yeah.
So the
No.
one, we got to You then had to climb a really high ladder to get to the top. But the other side, the way that this one was like, I must, I don't know what it was called, but it must have been like the biggest drop or something. Because normally a zipline is even, so you go from one side to the other and you just go along.
Yeah, yeah.
was a lot higher than the end, so you're dropping down to the other
Oh no.
hate that feeling in your stomach, like I do not go on roller
Yeah, that's why I don't go on them. I don't like that either. I hate it. Yeah, yeah.
on it. Martin said to me as I was about to go off, cause he, he went after me. He literally said, Oh, when you're on it, scream? Well, I kid you not, I screamed, out of fear for my life, and I couldn't, I naturally just screamed. I didn't even, like, put it
It wasn't even put on, yeah.
and Martin was
It was your soul leaving your body as you plummeted down.
like, you sounded so scared. When I got down the other side, the only way Martin describes it was that I left in a white t shirt I went to the other side in a translucent t shirt because the sweat was pouring off. I don't even sweat, I'm not a sweaty person because, because
Oh my,
I
oh my god.
I just like put my head between my legs because I was so scared. Even the
For a minute.
who was chilled as anything was like, are you okay?
you okay? For a minute there, when you said that Martin described your white as going translucent, I thought you were going to say it was white, then it was brown. I thought you were going to shit yourself. Oh.
your back, Hannah. Like, you've only,
minger. Oh my god.
I was so
Just fear.
the
Just sheer

in his very limited English, was like you go with me. And I was like,
Heh
Because
heh heh heh.
are. The faster you go. Cause, so,
Yeah.
I must have
Yeah.
fast.
Like a torpedo. Heh heh heh heh.
and he was showing me around. And, and like I say, it was level. I don't think
Yeah.
I was skip, didn't like the drop, you know? So then
Yeah. Yeah.
I was absolutely fine. So yeah, it was really
Oh, that's alright. At least you enjoyed it after that. God, that's Oh boy. Oh boy, you alright?
honestly. So
Sorry. Oh, didn't expect that. Didn't expect you to come out with it like that.
the last zip line we're doing. And,
my god.
like on, on the wire. So they send one of you off and then they get the next person ready and you
Yeah.
there's jolt on it. And the guy looks a bit confused and he's radio and obviously talking in Spanish. So couldn't understand him. And then I just hear Martin shouting in the background. Oh my God, there was a monkey. There was a monkey. I'm like, what's going on? And the guy was like, Oh, we
Yeah.
a monkey. And I'm like, Oh, that's cute. That's really nice. Get to the other side. And he's
Lovely! Oh my
what we felt. Go. And then obviously had nowhere to go. So Martin's then like face to face with this little monkey, bashes into this monkey. And then it just
god.
fell. And,
Oh,
we
oh, oh.
alive? And he went, monkey, R I P.
Oh my god.
Cause obviously they don't
Oh.
would have got
Oh no.
to grab onto. I don't,
We'd like to think that that monkey didn't see its grizzly end and that it caught onto a branch on its way down. That's what we're gonna
was in the jungle. There
hope for the best.
know, we
Exactly. It would have been caught by the canopy of the trees. Hopefully. That's what we're gonna say anyway. Yeah poor Martin there, that'd frighten me to death
he
if something like that happened. What would you do? You can't go anywhere, you just go full pelt forward. Like, what,
can't
what do you do in that moment? You just
Gotta keep going.
Fancy.
One of the other things I loved doing was We went for like a really nice like nine course taste a meal dinner, which was It was in like, we're in like a glass box suspended over the jungle. It's just you
Wow,
They only have like six tables, But
exclusive. Yeah,
out and you, they give you a little passport and each course is like a different, supposed to be a different area related to a different area in Costa Rica. So yeah, no, it was really, really nice. So we use some
that sounds incredible.
had gifted us to get that. So yeah. It was really
Oh, lush, that sounds so nice. How did you find these places? I
one, to be fair. A lot of stuff I saw in TikTok,
Yeah.
just on a big billboard as we drove into the town and I just
Oh, just googled it, yeah. That sounds incredible though.
But no, it
Love that.
It was really nice. We saw lots of, so much wildlife. We saw sloths. Monkeys.
my god, I love sloths.
bit
Oh,
Yeah,
god, they're so
iguanas lizards.
Oh,
it was
I'm so jealous. That sounds amazing.
monkeys are weird. If anyone's
Oh.
monkey, Google it, because they sound, like, sounds freaky. I
Oh,
We checked into this
Oh!
and we were like, what is that noise? I'm like, oh my god, it's a bear. And it was a howler
No. Okay.
Yeah.
Are they big monkeys or little?
on the terrace and there's just these monkeys.
Oh, I'm a little bit frightened of monkeys.
you?
Yeah, I just find them really unpredictable. Like, you know when you go to the zoo and they're like all over your car? And I just think they're gonna come in and like, take over your car and
But I
drive you, keep you hostage.
like, like these ones don't really come like near you, near you,
Don't come close.
yeah, they're obviously not, yeah. Those ones at the zoo are probably like trained to do that, aren't they? For a bit of
Yeah, they're like, give me the bread, bitch.
Yeah.
Give me that. Give me a lunch.
Yeah. But no, so it was
Oh, I'm so glad you had a nice time though. It sounds incredible. It sounds so good. I can't wait to see the photos when you finally get them off of mine.
I want to finally post some. Don't you feel a bit like though, from Did you feel like this? Like, obviously we had our elopement as well, so we've got like two sets of wedding photos, plus honeymoon photos. Like, posting them is just a bit like overkill.
I don't want to spam everyone, but I know, I mean, I just go for it. Post it all. People love to see people are nosy online. People want to see people want to see.
it in my stories and then just save it as a highlight, I was thinking. Instead
Yeah.
over
Do that.
you know. Yeah,
get more content out there and not feel like you're annoying everybody I suppose. But I mean, I look, I want to see it all so it wouldn't annoy me.
see it all.
So we've got some questions from the listeners. So, someone has asked, Do you actually need a honeymoon? Or is it not just a holiday?
No. I kept saying it. Do you know what? It's really funny, as I kept saying it. Every time someone said to me, or Martin said, like, Oh, holiday, blah, blah, blah. I'm like, it's not a holiday, it's a honeymoon. But then I
It's a honeymoon?
Then I kept
Oh.
blah, blah, blah. And I'm like, oh, I've just done it.
Oh no, oh no. Oh, you absolutely need a honeymoon. It's honeymoon is different.
The idea I feel is that you are like I mean going on like old fashioned is like supposed to be like first Like holiday away as a couple isn't like your new life together and everything So it's like a celebration of like everything and I feel like it should be something that you do It's kind of like once maybe like a once in a lifetime holiday or something definitely a bit more special than your I mean No, nothing wrong with going on a trip to spain or whatever, but you know I mean like something
you do every year should be a little bit more like special
I will
Yeah
massive believer in going like literally straight after your wedding now, like a hundred percent. And I've, and I think there are pros and cons, and I was trying to weigh them up. And I know quite a few people that have left it a few months and you know, they're like, Oh, but it extends the celebrations and stuff.
But I do think like, it's been such a busy time and there's so much anticipation in the lead up, like just to go away for a couple of weeks and just chill together is a hundred percent worth it.
Yeah, I agree. I just, I feel like you need that time together after you've like planned a whole wedding or whatever and
had this conversation with people before, but it's a bit like literally get married at the weekend, and then you don't go away, what, you're just going back to work on
Gonna go back to work. Oh,
or got married?
got married.
when we
Yeah.
jabs for our honeymoon, which is another point, If you go in somewhere, make sure you check out if you need jabs because we kind of forgot and then Martin kind of
Oh. Oh.
we got them done. But she, the lady that did the jabs was like, oh yeah, I got married this weekend. Like, just got,
Oh, just, just
was back to
Blase, like didn't got married. Oh yeah. Those feel like you need to extend the celebration as far as I'm concerned. As long as you can take your honeymoon straight afterwards, if you can a couple of days later and just go off and enjoy, you know, marriage bliss with no distractions. It's really nice just to check out of the world for a little bit.
you go. Next one.
Yeah.
Should I arrange thank you cards for after the wedding? Do you know what, this is actually, this one in because I was gonna ask you if you did this because I have not
Ah.
Not
Yeah, so I did. I did thank you cards, yeah.
okay. Oh,
though, with Prezola is that you can send a thank you on there. So it obviously doesn't cost you any money. So if people gift you, you can say thanks. Like you can, they'll obviously leave their like contact details. So you can just be like, oh, like send a nice thank you note or whatever personally to each person.
at
But if you, because obviously if you do thank you cards, you have to pay for them. I think mine cost me like an extra like 40 quid. Like I said, I love them to everybody. And then you've got to go through, remember what everyone's got you. You've got to get everyone's address, stamps, send them all. It's just an extra cost. If I'm honest with you. I don't think you need to do that anymore. I just, I dunno why I did. I think I was just like, I just went over kil on everything. Like
if I can do it through my wedding website. Might be
Yeah.
might have a look.
Yeah. I'd have thought so.
yeah, I would, I feel that you've got to say thank you to people for coming 100 percent
Oh yeah. Absolutely. Absolutely. Yeah. So I feel like,
and posting them off I tell
yeah,
that doesn't listen to the podcast doesn't deserve a thank you Anyway, but anybody that
How dare you. Yeah. That's it.
wants us to do
That's so nice. So heartfelt. Heartfelt.
anyone wants to do a public thank public that could be like a segment in our podcast
Yeah.
in
Write in your thank you notes and we will read them out.
them out and put it on the ground for you And then you can just tag all your
Yeah, exactly.
go
Oh, that's good. So someone said, Did Hannah get any terrible gifts on the wedding day? Eager to know after she said she didn't want any. I'm dreading the Mr. and Mrs. Mugs.
The misdreament. Do you know what? No, we literally got somebody got us a bottle of champagne here. We don't know who that is. It
So if that's you, thanks. Yeah.
They live in Wales and obviously we had our elopement in Wales and they live quite close to Snowdon. And they got us like like an A4 hand painted picture of the Snowdon mountain range,
That's
which
That's thoughtful. That's really thoughtful.
and I actually messaged him and was like, thank you so much. Cause that is such a thoughtful gift
Yeah.
it'd been signed. So it was probably from somebody local. Yeah, I was really happy with
Lovely.
really
I feel like that's the thing with these Mr. and Mrs. mugs, is not only do they symbolise tat, they also symbolise somebody who just couldn't be arsed. Because, I mean, I mean, literally, like, how easy is it now, like, to go onto Etsy or something and get something handmade, or like, if you, if you weren't living near Wales, for example, you could get a Snowden watercolour picture or something sent to you,
what
what I mean? Anything.
don't get why
You're just, yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
for money for their honeymoon
Yeah. Just do it.
get a gift as well.
No,
what they've asked
no,
what they
the reason they've asked for it is because that's what they want. Yeah, they're doing you a favor.
when our auntie and uncle from america got us We we're really into like the yeti range. So they got us some like coffee mugs and a bottle and stuff
That's cool. Yeah, nice.
so yeah, no
Yeah,
everything
luckily you didn't have any shit. No tat, that's good.
I would just you know What you got to do is you've just got to be those people That just make it very clear that that's not what you want. So,
You just need to start a podcast
yeah
keep mentioning it in every episode in the hope that people will get the hint, not buy you shit.
No I yeah, I just think you've got to bring it into conversation art Oh god God, I don't get why people do these atmospheres. But it's like
hee hee hee Awkward
people get you a mug with your age on it. Like, why
Yeah
want that? Ever. Also, a year later, it's then, like,
Is that a date?
yeah? Ha! Yeah,
still clinging on Ha ha ha ha
like, yeah, that's
Oh Oh, oh god
Yeah, dear oh dear
That's funny
to make it very very clear that that's not what you
Yeah
you know
And then you'll be fine
need to contribute, like, but if they do, we did get a lot. I was quite surprised how much cash we got to be fair, but
That's good. Cash money!
the bank and then, then used it. So,
Yeah, that's really good.
again, I think when people give you cash, make sure you do do that. Like we've put ours into a different account so we can use that for our London trip,
Yeah.
don't like just sit there and use cash for your food shopping, do you know what I mean?
Well, that's it.
cash.
Yeah. Yeah. You need to make sure you bank it.
Yeah,
Save it.
you know when people give you cash and you just
Yeah, and you just use it on your shopping or something. You start floating around. Yeah.
then
I know what you mean. Well, I mean, I
myself
I don't have cash floating around, but I wish I did.
online nowadays, don't they? So,
Well, yeah, yeah, so it's sort of like, it ends up being like, I mean, I would just find a way of spending it, but, Ha! Ha! Amazing, wow, that was, I've really enjoyed listening about your honeymoon and your wedding, It's been amazing, it's been, it's been quite the journey, isn't it?
and
It's been quite the journey.
bit of normality now and
