Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages. Welcome to another edition of Let's Get Biblical with your host, a man formerly in the world of entertainment as a stand up comedian and actor, now in evangelist for Christ. Here he is your host, my host, our host kad music beside my session. These folks gotta give him a message. What's going on? Guys, Welcome to another edition of Let's Get Biblical right here on your favorite podcasting platform, whether

it's Spreaker, Spotify, Apple, iTunes, and more. We thank you, guys for listening to Let's Get Biblical over the last several years. It's just this your first time listening to us. Come on in, believer, non believer, someone that's been studying the Bible way longer than I have. Come on in because it's all about the good old b I B l E. The Basic Constructions before leaving Earth, Manual, and the love of Jesus for you, I and the world around us. And we'd like to do it in a

different way. We really do. I love to take those scriptures, wrap them around our world and we use it in the forms of transparency, testimony and the hopes of transformation in your life and my life in the world around us makes sense. All right, let's put our hands in a huddle and say let's go. One, two, three, let's go, and let's get this very interesting show started here today we're starting a new series here, a new series called

Bible Breakdown. I'm sorry, we don't have a very cool drop at this moment, you know, because we don't ask for funds on the show to produce a higher quality network of sound drops. So you're gonna have to deal with can we do it again? Bible Breakdown? Right here on, let's get biblical with Katie and what is it? It's exactly how it sounds. We are going to take scripture from the Bible today, read it out, and break it down so we all can understand it together. Now, some

scriptures are very very simple. Some scriptures get very very in depth. But we're going to start today with a man that I'm kinda like, We're kind of all like, a disciple named Peter. You can turn your Bibles to First Peter Chapter five if you like. If you're a non believer, it's okay. We just want you to stick around.

Come on, come on, let's hang out. All right, because it's like hanging out with someone that just went to the gym and you're seeing them transform and they're looking good and they're on a new diet, and you wonder, man, I want to look like that. You look good, you sound good, You got a new light to you. How do you do it? You ask them? Right, well, this is the same way when believers in Christ walk with Christ. You see a different light in them, and you're like,

there's something different about them. Come on in, Come on in and hear our testimonies, and let's have a little fun and learning the word of God in a unique way. All right, let's do that. Let's sit around that good old round table and have a little discussion, and we'll all start around first Peter chapter five, and we're gonna be in verses five through ten today talking a little bit about the proud and the humble, and also using your elders around you. You ever grown up? You ever

grown up? Guys? We've all grown up. Okay, let's be honest, all right, we've all grown up, and we think, man, we're the man we know more than that old man over there. What are you talking about, old man? What are you talking about old lady. I'm twenty something years old. Man. I know life, right, I know life. I got a job. Yeah, it's eight fifty an hour, and I can't afford to pay my bills. But I got a job. People like me do they? I know what I'm doing in this world.

And you have that young that older gentleman or older lady that's trying to push life into you. Oh wait a minute, that absolutely sounds like somebody that I know right now. Oh me as a podcaster, Yeah, I've got white haired wisdom too, But I need those other white haired wisdoms that almost cover their whole body sometimes for me to look up to and to hear about their

testimonies in life. Here's a guy in the other's end of a microphone right now sharing his life with you, and you might think you got it all together well. In One Peter, chapter five, we talk about that. Today we talk a little bit about to the elders and the flock. I'm an elder. I'm also a part of a flock. This message is for all of us, how we need to respect our elders, how we need to listen to our elders, because they're the ones that have

been through it. I know if I haven't been through a situation in my life, whether it's my walk with Christ, or how to put in flooring in my house, or how to change the oil in my car? What do I do? Don't say google it. The younger generation will absolutely say google it. Okay. But you turn into an elder and you say, hey, mister so and so, I see that you're a carpenter. I want to put flooring in my house. How do I do that? Hey, let me show you. But the younger self of us will

be too prideful to do that. Sometimes I'm that way now. Sometimes I'm too prideful because I think I know a lot at my elder age, but I need people to show me things well. In one Peter five, verse five, it starts out by saying, in the same way, you who are younger, submit to your elders. All of you clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble. Verse six says, humble yourselves. We've heard that word twice humble now actually

three times. Therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Verse eight says be alert and of sober mind your enemy. The devil prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing

those same kind of sufferings. Verse ten finishes with this and the grace of all God, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you suffered a while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm, and steadfast. So let's start that again at verse five. Right, if we're younger, submit ourselves to the older generation so we can learn from them. But in order to do that,

we've got to humble ourselves. We don't always humble ourselves because the world teaches us to be prideful and do it yourself. It's yolo, though I don't need your help. Have you ever asked anybody for help? They've given you help, and they're always there for you. Maybe you're somebody that grew up in a household that you never got help. Maybe you're the person that's always being kicked to the side. Well,

Jesus called Peter his rock. I'm a little like Peter, right, Peter little backstory on him is and you're gonna say, wow, that sounds like me too. Peter loved Jesus. Jesus loved Peter so much he called him the rock, not if you smell not that rock, okay, not Dwayne the Rock Johnson okay. But he was Jesus's rock. But Peter stabbed him in the back three times. Peter denied him three times. Think about the rock you have on earth right now?

Family member, wife, husband, spouse, best friend. What if that rock did the same thing to you three times? What happens? Three strikes? I'm out, yo, three strikes, I'm gone. You're not my friend no more. I'm not gonna deal with you. I'm not gonna show you love. Jesus though Jesus, when Peter denied him three times, continues to show all of us love when we turn our backs on him. Absolutely absolutely does. So. Think about that rock in your life today.

Peter was Jesus's rock. Peter denied Jesus three times, but Peter also was prideful at that time. No, I won't I won't deny you. Jesus I'll never deny you. I will follow you. Heck, he even cut off a guard's ear when the guard went to go change Jesus. In the gardens of Josemone, he went to go attack a man, and Jesus goes, no, Peter, but he already got to him, and then Jesus healed that man. Peter's kind of like the I like to call him the honey badger for Christ.

He loves Jesus, but he'll cut an ear off man. He just will. But that's that pride we were talking about. Peter showed that he was prideful. He had to humble himself, and boy, the third time he denied Jesus, he humbled himself, and here he is writing about it. In First Peter. God opposes a proud but shows favor to the humble. Clothe yourselves and humility. Humble yourselves. Therefore, under God's mighty hand, he will lift you up in due time. And he

lifts you up in any situation. You need to humble yourself. Do it today? Do it today? Are you an alcoholic, You're a drug addict? Are you living somewhere that they oppress God? And you can't read the Bible? Stand up and see what happens when you humble yourself. Lord this, I'm sorry for that. I want to end this. I want to get rid of that. I need your help. When you humble yourself, He's going to lift you up with his mighty hand, cast all your anxiety upon him.

That's verse seven. He cares for us, he loves us. He has those arms open wide all the time. But those rocks on earth that you're relying on, and they stab you in the back three times, you or them either turn their backs on you. Jesus again, never will be alert in a sober mind. The enemy's there, y'all. I don't like to call the horned, pitchforked guy that the world has presented ahead of us the D word. I'd call him the opposition because he's always opposing anything

you're doing good in your life. You ever had good things going, and you're like, it's just stopped. I don't know why it stopped. God, why would you allow this to happen? Because you're strong enough to come out on the other side, and you need to rely on him as the rock, not your friends and family. Humble yourselves, that's where you need to come back to humility. The devil's going to try to tear you apart. He don't want you to show He don't want you to be happy.

Why would you accept that in your life? All because you're opposed against somebody that loves you so much and is trying to show you ground rules of life. Man, that sounds like parenting to me. Sounds like parenting to me. When you try to do anything on your own and your head hits that glass ceiling, you can't go any further. The opposition loves it because, man, you're hurting yourself. Cast all your anxieties on him. Because the Lord cares for you.

Be alert, sober mind verse nine, Resist the devil, resist the opposition, Resist the opposition. Standing firm in our faith because we know Jesus has got us Yo. I keep saying yo. I don't know why I'm saying it, and I clapped right there because we need to tag him in. We need to tag Jesus in when we can't do it on our own. Because you want to know what you can rest your faith on the King. I'm of believers like me, like my wife, my kids, other believers.

We go through the same thing. I'm not riding out a rainbow all the time. I'm not on the top of the mountain. I like being in the valley. Why I didn't say in the pit, or in the shoal or in the depths of hell. That's set a valley. Picture a valley with nothing but vegetation, flowers and green because that's where the valley gets all the nutrients. When the mountains soak down the water from the mountain, where does it go into the valley? You're being nourished with

that holy water for growth in your life. We all want to continue to climb, and that's the problem. We keep climbing. We're climbing, We're climbing. We get to the top where there yo, mmm, we fall back down. Sometimes we fall all the way big deck down into the valley. We think it's the pits of hell, but it's the valley. And we need to learn to grow again by being humble. Didn't go with that pride. There's a kingdom of believers out there to suffer like you. We all suffer, but

how do you handle it? And finally, and the God of all grace who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you suffered a little while will restore you and make you strong, firm, and steadfast. Now I know you may be thinking, why would I go through something like that? Why would I continue to go through that? Why would he allow me to go through that? Because he knows you're going to get through it. He knows

you're going to come out on that other end. It's gratitude, gratitude, humility, pride. When we learn what these words are, especially in First Peter chapter five, verse five, it really soaks in. That's when we need to come to him. Guys, drop to our knees and just so show gratitude. No matter where you are in your life, you have breath in your lungs, gratitude to him that you're still alive and he's waiting for you to come to him. It's easy, it's simple,

it's fun. Hopefully you guys enjoyed this episode of Bible Breakdown. We'll be bringing this to you guys over the next couple weeks on the show, and then after that we're gonna do music Verse Breakdown, some songs that really touch the heart at a certain moment in my life. I can't wait to share those testimonies with you, guys. Thank you for listening to another distance of Let's get Biblical

with Katie. Follow us on YouTube and just drop that pride, show some humility, and check out First Peter Chapter five. God bless y'all. Take care,
