Episode description

What if the secret to a long, healthy life has less to do with what you eat and more to do with how you live? In this thought-provoking episode, I share a fascinating insight from Warren Buffett that challenges conventional wellness wisdom and might just transform your approach to health.

Despite drinking multiple cans of Coke daily and enjoying McDonald's breakfasts well into his 90s, Buffett attributes his longevity to just two factors: doing work he genuinely cares about and surrounding himself with people he likes. This revelation sparked my own reflection on what truly contributes to wellbeing beyond the typical health advice we're bombarded with daily.

And, as a special bonus, I want to give you FREE access to my signature course, Slay Your Year (usually $997)! All you have to do is:

Simple as that!

Warren Buffett's Surprising Health Habits

Speaker 1

Welcome to Let it Be Easy with Susie Moore . So I saw this interview with Warren Buffett my friends recently . It was a clip on social media or maybe it was on YouTube , doesn't matter . But an interviewer was asking him and I think he's in his 90s now , right , and he's finally taken , I think , a step down Is he still the richest man in the world ?

I think he might be , or he's at least in the top three . Warren Buffett , my husband has all of his books here , because my husband used to work in finance . And what was so interesting was the interviewer said to him I see that you're drinking a can of Coke and I hear you have a McDonald's breakfast every day .

Right , this man , who's fit , he's in his nineties , he's still working full-time , or was until recently . And he said yeah , actually , I think he has three or four cans of Coke a day . Right , most people would balk at that . We'd go what ? That's crazy . It's going to put you in an early grave .

It's terrible for you , your health , your arteries , your teeth , all the things . But he said something really interesting and I thought , yes , I agree with him . What he shared was this excuse me , he said look , I think that my good health and his longevity is like I think my good health and longevity has really come down to two things ,

Four Keys to Wellbeing

which is fascinating , right ? He said number one I only do work that I care about . And number two , I only work with people that I like . So think about that .

You might be putting quote unquote trash into your body , but if you don't have stress at work or well , you know , there's stress in all jobs but if you generally love what you're doing and you're surrounded by good people , this is important for your health .

He said something along the lines of and I'm paraphrasing here look , my stomach isn't churning , I don't feel heavy or stressed because I do work I care about and I essentially don't work with assholes .

He pretty much says something along those lines and I thought , yes , warren , yes , and I want to add two things to that , because I was thinking about it for a while Loving your work , tick . To me , there is actually probably nothing more important , because it is such a huge focus of our lives .

It's what we're here to do to create , to be , to be in service to others . When you love your work , I even noticed that when I left my tech career a job that I liked right Love maybe not , but liked certainly . I felt this vitality , I felt this energy , I felt this freedom , this creative spark . I felt like I was younger .

I stopped drinking as much , I started making better choices because I was so focused and happy , knowing that I was on the right path for me . Step one Certainly I agree with you , warren , I was on the right path for me . Step one Certainly I agree with you , warren no tension in relationships .

So , working with people you like , surrounding yourself with people that you like , not having those energy leaks around you , even if it's in your family . If there's tension in relationships , is there something that you can do to ameliorate it ? Maybe , maybe not . Can you create more distance and more boundaries ?

Loving your work , having no or little or minimized tension in relationships ? Heck , yes . Then two more from me sleep , prioritizing sleep . I find

Loving Your Work and Better Relationships

that when someone sleeps well , they are a completely different person and we start to create and sack up a lot of problems in our life , in our mind , when we're tired , things that actually aren't serious . That just dissipates when you have enough sleep .

And then , number four minimizing tech in your life , since I did that call a couple of months ago called Screen Free and Loving you . I've heard from you . I know that I really limit time with my phone , so much so that when I was in France recently , my mom was like , are you okay ? I haven't heard from you .

I'm like mom , I didn't know where my phone was yesterday and that's how I like it . And she was like , oh okay , yes , good for you , good for you . But these are four things that I believe if you could not master but pay attention to in your life , your life will dramatically improve and you don't need to make any other shifts .

You don't need to start drinking all the herbal teas and taking all the supplements and doing all the 10 , well , I definitely don't do 10,000 steps , but think about it loving your work . And if you don't , what are you doing about that this year ? Right , we're nearly in the second half of 2025 . Number two surrounding yourself with the right people .

Minimizing tension in relationships or exposure to relationships that are tense

Sleep Priority and Reducing Tech Attachment

. Number three prioritizing sleep rest . Three prioritizing sleep rest . And number four eliminating the constant attachment we have to devices . My friends , the sky is blue , the birds are chirping , there's an ocean , there are mountains , there is life in living color around you . Are you letting it in
