¶ Introducing the 10-minute time gap
Welcome to Let it Be Easy with Susie Moore . I have a quick tip for you today that can just give you your life back . You can implement this anytime , any place . It is the 10-minute time gap . 10 minutes , that's it , delaying your vices . So often when we take an action , that might have a side effect that we don't love .
Maybe it's overspending , overeating , overdrinking , whatever it is right . We're all a little different . Overscrolling is a big one . Whenever we do it , there is a side effect , meaning we're depleted , we spend money we don't want to spend , our health suffers as a result , and these behaviors are largely unconscious thinking oh , what can I complete now ?
Or how can I ? You know ? Maybe I'll take a couple of deep breaths and center myself . I'll just reach for the scroll where I'll go
¶ Practical applications in daily life
straight into it . I'll go into the doom scrolling immediately . Whatever it is in your life that you might like to do less of , even it could even be gossiping . I mean , really , this can take any form . Implementing a 10 minute time gap can change everything , because this is how we go from unconsciousness just chiming in with the gossip .
You know , saying yes to that thing in the email . Oh yeah , I'll buy that because it's on sale , or yeah , I'll have a drink , or yeah , I'll have a vape or whatever it is that you think I would like . Less of this in my life . This isn't shaving any of those things . It's your life , it's your call .
But if you institute this 10 minute delay , so just say you get home at 6 pm . The first thing you do is go to the bar what if there was just a 10 minute break ? Took off your shoes , had a little stretch , pet your dog , pet your cat , put your hair up , put your comfy clothes on . I put your hair up , put your comfy clothes on .
That 10 minute gap , not only in a lot of cases , can remove the behavior . I've seen this happen where behaviors are removed when they become conscious . It can also just push it out to later in the day , you know , especially if there's something that requires more and more .
So I know when I was coaching a lady she was like look , as soon as I start going for it with desserts , like that's it at a buffet . I'm like what if there were a 10 minute gap ? What if , after you finish your savory food , you have like a sip of tea , you chill and then you go for dessert ?
She's like it's amazing how much less you even eat as a result of being conscious . It's not let me get my money's worth . Let me do it now . Let me rush chase , let me just like do what I usually do in these situations . It's not following pre-programmed behavior , it's coming back , it's being awake , it's living in awareness .
10 minutes , my friends can do a lot . What if ? What if this can change your life ? You wake up each morning and instead of you know putting your arm , picking up your phone and turning off your alarm , or even just picking up your phone as soon as you crack a knife , you don't have an alarm .
And seeing the news , checking the TikTok , looking at your email , seeing your WhatsApp all the things you had 10 minutes , you just sat there . You just marveled at the fact that , yeah , you woke up today . The sun is going to rise or it's already risen . Here you are , breathing , living during your temporary
¶ Morning routine transformation
