Episode description

Looking at an old photo from a 2009 trip to France, I asked myself: "What would I tell my younger self about business?" The answers became powerful lessons that could save you years of struggle.

What if you could skip the costly detours on your entrepreneurial journey? After my recent six-week French adventure, reuniting with my sisters sparked this crucial reflection. The wisdom that emerged applies whether you're running a business, working for someone else, or just contemplating your next move.

And, as a special bonus, I want to give you FREE access to my signature course, Slay Your Year (usually $997)! All you have to do is:

Simple as that!

Back from French Adventure

Speaker 1

Welcome to Let it Be Easy with Susie Moore . My friends , I am back . Everything that you heard up until today's episode was recorded before our six-week French adventure , and you can expect some fun stories , some takeaways , some insights from that trip in the coming days and weeks .

And what I actually wanted to kick off with today was something I shared via email . If you're on my email list , you would have received this in the last couple of weeks An email , a message , essentially about taking the right action . So maybe you've already read this . If so , it bears repeating .

Whether you're a business owner , whether you're an employee , whether you're looking to start something , I know that what I shared in that message specifically is useful to a lot of people , based on your feedback

Taking the Right Action

. So I thought what better way to settle back in with you , my fabulous podverse , to talk about taking the right action ?

Okay , because you've probably heard me say this a million times if you're a long-time listener , working on the right thing is more important than working hard , and when I was in France recently , I had the joy of seeing two of my sisters , one who lives in Italy and one who lives in Switzerland .

They came to see us in Paris , and my eldest sister , natasha , actually whipped out an old photo from a 2009 French trip that we had together my gosh , the baby face . Wow , going back to gosh , how old was I then ? I think around 25 . Well , anyway , her and I were talking , going .

Okay , if we went back to 2009 , what would we tell ourselves back to 2009, ? What would we tell ourselves ?

And , of course , we spoke about marriage , we spoke about our family , we spoke about all sorts of things , but what came up for me which often , always comes up , because I'm always thinking about creating and where to next , and efficiency , and joy and ease , and joy and ease I've come up with some key lessons that I want to share with you as it pertains to

business . Now , whether you have a business or not , whether that's even on the horizon for you , or if you've been in business for years , or if it's of no interest to you , you can apply these to your life wherever you are today . Okay , I'm going to read them to you here . Number one get busy now . So in 2009 , even back then , I had business ideas .

There were things that were bubbling away , but I didn't take action until around four years after that

Six Business Lessons

. If I could do it again , I would begin immediately . The timing is never perfect , but the sooner you start , the sooner everything good begins . I swear to you this is true , my friends , whenever you have a dream or desire , when it comes to taking action , you cannot be a single day early .

Second lesson let everyone know that you exist and that you can help them . Most people don't do this , which is why so few really succeed in the long term . They stay quiet , play small and wait for what I don't know . But I know this the only thing in your way is a limit that you've agreed to , consciously or unconsciously , somewhere along the line .

Can you drop it ? Can you suspend it ? Because others are doing what you dream of ? Why not you ? Point three gosh , I need this right now . Don't listen to everyone . A thousand voices will tell you a thousand complicated ways to do something . One fancy friend told me I had to write a business plan . I never did and I still never have , by the way .

But the truth is you only need to follow the advice that clicks with your intuition , because that's the one that will work for you . Point four put profit first . This is where I see a lot of business owners make mistakes if your business isn't profitable at fifty thousand dollars a year . It won't work at a million dollars a year .

You want to build whatever you're creating , to make you money now , not later . Point five is something that I've really learned from my husband over the years , who loves the letter B easy in business . His uh , I suppose motto is this eliminate , automate , delegate , right . So if a task isn't energizing you or growing you , get it off your plate , eliminate it .

If you can automate it , give it to somebody else and then , oh sorry , eliminate . So remove it . Automate , can technology do it ? And then , finally , delegate . Easy is allowed . There are a lot of things that we can get rid of . Think about it . You have to do all the things . Eliminate whatever is not necessary , automate

Meaningful Over Volume

what you can AI is incredible for this , a million tech tools are fantastic for this and then , of course , delegate . Allow yourself to be supported . Two more points here . My friends , I wish I knew this , certainly years ago . Don't network your energy away .

I used to run myself ragged meeting all the people showing up at all the things , thinking you know it was people that create opportunities . And that is true to an extent . But I see people doing this without intention and they're spent kind of running around meeting people with really no goal or results .

And if this is you , if you're kind of networking without intention , 90% of the time you spent out there can be a waste of time and might just leave you tired and , frankly , a little bit confused . Meaningful is more important than volume , meaningful over more . And finally , look , here we are summer . Maybe you're feeling something fresh .

You don't have to commit to just one thing in your life . Lean into the things that you're enthusiastic about . They'll naturally evolve and change as you do , and that's not okay , it's wonderful . Enjoy it all .

My friends , when I started my life coaching business , I thought I'd have an office up town and people would be coming in and out day to day like a therapist's office . It has evolved into so much more Books , a podcast , all sorts of creative projects by not sticking to just one thing and holding firm just one idea about how it had to be .

My friends , let yourself play and have fun Until
