Episode description

We live in the age of ubiquitous information, and right now at least, it seems that we’re witnessing, experiencing, and processing unprecedented amounts of highly charged events and emotions. How can we help our children make sense of things when we aren’t even sure ourselves? What are appropriate response mechanisms and outlets? How can we keep our eyes on the proverbial prize when the promise of it keeps moving further away? As parents, we know our kids look to us -- for comfort, for safety, for hope. As educators, our kids look to us for structure, for answers. In this episode, we discuss the importance of modeling mindfulness and prioritizing social-emotional health. We acknowledge that emotions are integral to our human experience, drive our mindset and mindstate, and are crucial to learner-centered environments.
