Episode description

The 2019/20 school year is coming to a close and the CDC has released reopening guidelines for schools that make one thing clear: Schools will not look the way we want this fall. In this episode, we give ourselves permission to grieve as we feel this second wave of emotions. By exploring our own emotions and unpacking our visceral reactions, we realize that auditing our “nows” and “hows” are necessary to move forward. And, as often is the case, reflection clarifies intention. Pulling from sound instructional design, we talk about the importance of focusing on outcomes to slice through the clutter and simplify intent. This brings us an opportunity to invite a “guest” to the table and pour a glass to talk pedagogy and space. Note: This episode is the second in a “back to school” series where we share ideas on starting a new school year with so many uncertainties.
