It's time to talks for its time for the show. You hear this song on the radio fast let Me get Photograph Sports Talk Radio starting now. Let's go. Hey, everybody, welcome to episode one eighty seven of cart Crimes Podcast, brought to you by Let Me Get that Potograph. I'm Scott Rabbitforts and with me, as always is the DH. This feels weird, I don't. I don't think it. I think it's been well over one hundred
and fifty sum episodes since someone else did the full intro. No, no, no, no, no, I did that boxing related one last year. Yeah, that's that's true. So no, I just you know what, I just wanted to mess with people because again, you know, our opening segment today is going to be about a crime shocker involves the hobby. So look, just for this week, we'll change the name. We'll call it card Crimes and and we'll go with that. But before we get into
it, did you do anything interesting over the weekend This past week? I almost got into a fight at a trampoline park with a parent. That no, well, dude, that you know what, that's very similar to what happened to me this weekend. I almost got into a fight with a parent at a soccer tournament that I was refereeing this weekend. Um, I actually had to end me at all, No, not at all. I had to end the game early because you know, look, I deal with a
lot of crap from parents, and normally I just put it off. But this guy, this guy just wouldn't stop. So we sent him off and he refused to leave. Not only did you refuse to leave, but he came on the field and got in my face. Before are you going any further? Let's what is the age group here? This was a U fifteen game, so and it wasn't even the top division, you know, like it was a huge it was a huge tournament, but it wasn't in the
top division. And look the guy just came up, you know, god on the field, gotten my and I was on the edge of the field, so it's not like you had to come far, but you know, got in my face, and I'm like at this point, like you just stand up to me like in my chest, Like what are you gonna do about it? I'm like, well, I'm gonna end the game, yeah,
because what this guy? I mean, look, this guy, this guy has no clue that I'm a practitioner of Mexican judo, right, which I don't know if you've ever heard of Mexican before, you know, ju don't know. I gotta gone you know now of course you know, yeah, no refereeing. I'm not you know, I'm not carrying anything with me because that just wouldn't be bad or that wouldn't be good. Um so yeah, So it ended the thing early. Wow, like holy like holy crap.
And this was after we caught the same team trying to cheat before the game start and trying to put players in that weren't on their tournament roster. It's like, come on, guys, yeah, we like we have that problem with our baseball team right now because we haven't we hadn't lost in two and a half years. Every team tries to sneak the USA bats on and they try. You know, these coaches will do anything, and this is eight year old. They'll do anything for an advantage to try and beat the
good teams. Well, UH and U eight team from my home club, not the UH my home club was involved in the game, but they weren't the UH. The offending team. Their coach got red carded and sent off in the game, you know, game ended because there wasn't another coach available, but um, yeah, I think there was some some refereeing issues going on with that one. But um, I got two more tournaments coming up, and I'm actually excited about these next two because I found out a couple
of days ago that I'm actually being scouted for college niceties. Yeah, start doing NC double A games if I can get into program, which would be nice. Um. So yeah, that was that was a crazy weekend. Um it's six games on Saturday, which means eight hours of straight running. Oh yeah, and I'm still like, I'm still having a hard time walking, but I got to get back on the horse because I got games. Um. All right, so let's get rolling. Let's talk about the thing
that everybody's been talking about the last couple of days. Oh yeah, and then he got broken into Jesus, Yes, all right. So here's what we know. We know that the main office got broken into, and computers and servers were stolen, stolen and destroyed and just well how do you well, if did they find them all? Well, what it shows, and the information that has come out since then, was that some of the stuff was stolen and then some of the stuff was ransacked. So what exact actually
was stolen and what exactly was destroyed on site? They haven't. They've asked Panini to, you know, come up with that list and of inventory that was taken, but they haven't released that. Panini hasn't gathered it yet to figure out exactly all of it and what it was. We don't know if servers were stolen or I have a feeling that the server aspect, the more I look into it was an act of vandalism because Panini's closed for this entire
week because systems have to get back on board. So I have a feeling that they stole some computers, stole some you know, some of that stuff, But the servers I think was probably more of the vandalizing side of things, because it knocked them completely offline. Well, most of those servers are you know, usually screwed into racks. They're not like you know, dis stuff computers or laptops or anything like that, so fight you know, getting
them out of the racks would be difficult. So you know, I could see that happening. Now before we get into my list of questions that I have in this whole situation, Yeah, I do want to point out that the office that got broken into, which is there, it is their main office down They do not house product in that office, right, so all
the all the redemption cards that you know need to be sent out. The amount of people that that said that they thought this was about redemption, now now it may delay shopping on some of those because with the computers and the servers knocked up, and then that you know that but nothing got stolen, so that that that one of one redemption that you've been waiting on, you know, a couple of years to ship and you know it may be sitting
in the office. It's still there because it's not in that office, it's in a different location. This wasn't about going in and stealing cards and stealing product. If anything, this was about stealing information. And uh and this isn't guys, this isn't like you see it card shop. You've seen a lot of card shops around the country being vandalized since people around the world now have figured out, even people that aren't in the hobby that just the stuff
that's worth money. Where you see him throw a brick through a window or something like this. You know, these guys went to the building next door knew the exact wall wall. I'm going to emphasize that. Yeah, to break down without setting security alarms off, that's insane, that is nuts. And from what I from what I understand, the wall into the server room was also broken through as well. Yes, Now here's I mean, that's the thing. So to me, that smells like somebody who knew what the
inside of that office looked like. Oh, they have now either had a hand drawn blueprint or it's someone that's been in that office and as seen in every single inch of that office thousands of times. Now, whether it's a former employee or somebody who knows a former employee that you know who knows. So I'm not going to speculate. What I can tell you is there's most likely not a sign above that you know, above the server room that says dead. It says dead server storage. Right, Yeah, now you know
that that's not the thing. So they kind of knew exactly what to break in. Now let's you know, let's get to you know where A lot of us heard this first, because we give credit where credit is due,
yes, when it comes to breaking stories. Um, and unfortunately the credit this time is going to Sportscard Radio, Sportscredit Radio, and I got a shout out Rich Mueller with Sports Collector's Daily, who within about an hour of finding all this out, had a very thorough and lengthy piece as well, which I had checking that out because that information is much more detailed the information
you need as opposed to broad speculation and no exactly. Now, look, we know that sports card Radio likes to push the edge a little bit, and they, you know, they actually did an okay job doing some speculation on this one, but not crossing that line into flat out accusations. Yes, now, they speculated that look, it may have been a former employee. They speculated that it may have been you know, that fanatics may have even been involved in it, you know, because again they've been picking off
employees. Imagine got together pulled. Yeah, I'm not and frankly I'm I'm surprised that they didn't try to throw Donald Trump in there, as you know, um Drew, I I know that you know, this is the biggest, biggest crime in the industry and the hugest crime in the industry. No crime has ever been bigger. And I know that a lot of the card people there are conservatives, and there's a lot that we can do with that data. But just like that dossier that they came out with a couple of
years ago, it's all fake news. I was not involved in it in any way, shape or form. Um. We love the card people. We would never do anything to do with with that or any break in. You know at the at the Panini Gate hotel, we had nothing to do with that. Maybe it's very possible it could have been you know, Democrats that did it, but we we definitely did not do that break in. We are enjoying things on the campaign and we don't have time to break in
to steal data. All right, you can't be really Also now now I'm actually you know again thrown it out there. Pretty sure it wasn't Donald's Trump No, but maybe hey, who knows. Look, there are a lot of conservatives in the card industry. That information could be very valuable to a campaign as far as mailing out you know, campaign and asking for donations and things like that. So um, but again, highly doubt it. Now, the the speculation that it could be somebody that is a former employee or
I and again I don't think it's anybody yet Fanatics. I don't think. I don't think there was a mastermind sitting down at Fanatics. I was saying, Hey, we gotta break in, we gotta get the data and all the kind of stuff, because it like reality is they got the employees. Yeah they already they already did the break in that they needed to do. Yeah, they got the they got the brain power, which is exactly what
they what they wanted. Um, I'm thinking this is more along the lines of, you know, if it is if there is a former employee that's involved in this, I'm thinking it's more along the lines of just you know, somebody who was let go and you know, just had a grudge against the company and want to do that. So if that's if that's the case, that's where I would be leaning towards. But I have a question. What's that? I have a question. I got a couple of myself,
But what's that? So? Why on earth were they still hosting their own servers? That was my biggest question. It makes no fucking sense. No, no, the view of unfamiliar with servers and how this stuff works. Most companies, especially the size of fucking Panini, that that type of data is housed in a massive company that and they're using they're using businesses. Yeah, it's either you know, they're using Google for the hosting one of their
data centers. They're using Amazon Web Services, They're using Oracle. There's you know, any any number of even smaller companies out there that have the capacity to host that because they have the upgraded security as well as the power to
handle all of it. But well, the upgraded aspect is huge. Not only that, but the bandwidth, right and especially after you know some of the issues opinion he's had with bandwidth on their sites, especially with some of the Dutch auctions and you know, and things like that, you would think that they would have migrated off to a you know, an off site server at a data center. Now we know exactly why those those website issues always
happen. They're exactly So that's my biggest question is why hasn't this happened and do they And I'm assuming look as smart as you know, the IT people have to be that that run these servers and things like that, I would assume that they've got a backup copy somewhere. Oh god, you have to. Yeah, But again the question is why why weren't they cloud based in
the first place. It makes no sense to me because I mean, unless these servers housed unless these are very small servers that housed other data that wasn't consumer information, like less sensitive material. Unless this was just like an in house type of thing, it makes no sense on multiple reasons because a, you could use that room for a lot more stuff, a lot better. Yeah, you could easily take that space and use it for much more productive
things. Well, the server, you know, it doesn't need to be big, No, it doesn't. You know, the physical space that it's is actually you know, is very small if you consider what it does. I can understand them having it there if they were using it for development, right, yeah, purposes. But the production server, yeah, should have been offsite. Yes, and that I mean that that exposes a massive flaw
within the company. Huge Yeah. All right, So what what are aside from that one, which I'd beat you the punch on, what is what are the other questions that you had for this? Well? I just I mean really curious to how these My number one thing is how they were able to figure out the floor plan. Like, as we said, it's got to be that you can't just have someone if you take a walk through Pannini's offices, you're not going to see that room. You're not gonna know where
that room. And like you've got to be on the floor and in that office and so familiar with it. It's not even funny. So someone either had to have gotten blueprint or it has to be someone offsite. Yeah, it's got to be an employee that's there for a long time, just gruntled or not. But my biggest question, and I think the most important thing that we need to know, was was customer data compromise? Yes, right, this is that if this is something that hosted their NFT PLATF. Remember
we're not talking about just ordering cards. This is an NFT platform with accounts that are linked to people's eat the you know, eat their wallet. It's all that type of stuff in addition to all the credit cards, all the
customer information. That's the type of That's what I want to know if they gotta yeah or did they just do this to attack Panini from a from an IT and an online aspect, which makes no sense to me because you would think it would be a lot easier than breaking down a wall to just do it through viruses and do it through hacker. If your soul job is to just knock them offline, I would assume an amazing hacker could probably do that
pretty easily and get away with it a lot easier. Yeah, you know, you don't, you know, you leave a lot you don't leave any physical evidence behind when you take in remotely. Now, we do know as far as the NFT goes, the NFT stuff goes. We do know that Penni's NFT system is a closed system. It's not tied into any of the other you know linked NFT you know platforms that are out there. Maybe this is the reason why, maybe maybe the reason why it was never connected to
any of the other systems is because they were hosting it themselves. And and if that's the case, that is a massive failure, yes on their part. Yeah, so you know, I mean, the good news is there's no you know, if they're housing sensitive data for anybody, it's names, addresses, phone numbers, and possibly credit card numbers, although they shouldn't be storing you know, being in that industry, they shouldn't be storing full credit
card numbers anyway. Um, but it's you know that would be exposed, like security numbers wouldn't be attached to that at all, UM, because if you're taking a payout on an NFT sale, you're taking it through either PayPal or you're taking it through UM. One of the one of the wall it comes and I'm drawn a blank on the name on that on which one they use UM. But then and so Panini would not have any of that personal information less you're an employee, unless you're an employee, which case it's in
the HR files UM which are probably stored digitally as well. So who knows if you know, if any current or firm an employee, you have to worry about that. But you know, again, we don't know what they took. We don't know if they just went in damage. As far as breaking down the wall to get in to the full you know, office suite to bypass security, that's you don't even you don't really need a blueprint for
that. You know that if you're in the office next to it, that there's a very good chance that chairs a wall inside the building with Panini's offices, you just don't know where it's going to spit you out. Yeah, you know, once you're in the office, that's where you need the blueprint as far as you know, hey, where to go? You know, I need to go to the right security because if you're able to knock down a wall, multiple walls and not trip security, Like, what kind of
security do we have here? Well, it sounds like it sounds like there's no motion sensors. No, it sounds yeah, it sounds like it's you know, glass, you know, probably glass and doors, yeah, are are covered by that, you know. I mean, I have no idea what you would think that a company like the name would have motion sensors on there unless they figured unless they figured out a way to disable. Yeah, that's possible. I mean, it is possible that that happened. That that's
not in the you know, the police report and anything. There's not a lot of information out here on this yet, guys, outside of the initial police report and the nine one one call that was made has been made official or when they called it in to the local authorities, is happening down in Irvan, Texas and the police report is out no statement been made by Panini yet obviously outside of that, through other people and other sources that it was
leaked that their systems would be down and things like that, there's been no official announcement from Panini. How long do you think before we get a statement from Panini on this? Because the only reason I ask is because we're in an era now, which we're going to talk about unfortunately in a minute. Another issue with Panini. There's a lot going on there and not a lot of it has been positive. And I hate to say that because I love
the company. Yeah, not a lot of it has been positive. So when it comes to data breaching and the possibility of all that, and then you get the conspiracy theorists and the redemptions and all this stuff, like there's so many different things. When do you come out and finally just say something. Well, they should have come out right away and said a couple of
things. They may not have had to address any potential data breach because they need to find out what is missing, you know, what was what was stolen, all that kind of stuff. They should have come out immediately and said, you know right off the bat that we do not you know, store the redemption cards or any product or anything like that at that location. You know, all of those are safe, you know, because our systems are down. There may be a delay in you know, in shipping until
we can get those back up and running. However, none of that was stolen. That that's an easy one that they should have come out with right
away. That way, there's no questions about it, you know, And then they could they could have just added in, you know, hey, we are you know, we are looking into what was taken and or damaged, you know, and we will you know, be making an additional statement, you know, shortly as to whether or you know, any other impact that it may have had on the company, because again, they don't need to address a data breach at that point, because the reality is there's nothing
you know, for the most part that is sensitive that you know, as far as customers go, that even if they have gotten into their system, I could find names, addresses, and phone numbers of people a lot easier than you know, breaking into an office to try to steal them off a computer. We know that they're you know, aside from employees, they're you know, there's not the possibility of any security numbers or anything like that being
taken. And if they are playing by the rules as far as PCI compliance goes with the credit card information, then there shouldn't be a worry about any of that information being stolen, either whether or not they're playing by the rules,
and that I don't know exactly. I don't I don't do their processing, so I'm not entirely sure you know, what systems they have in place, what safeguards they have in place, whether or not they're storing full data and things like that, but I would assume that they are, you know,
at this point less something comes out otherwise. But um, you know, I don't see any issues with you know, with any I would have at least just at least come and flat out, like with all the stuff with redemptions and stuff like you said, they're not even house there, so it's so easy to just come out and say, hey, guys, don't worry about that part. That stuff is perfectly fine. Cards no cards were
taken. And and this is what's made me the most curious is that the fact that they haven't come out and said none of your data was your personal information was compromised, because that's a pretty easy statement to make. That's normally the general statement that comes out when there's a data breach at any company in the world. Well, but here's the but here's the thing. Even if they did. If they did get a list of names, addresses, and
phone numbers of their customers, well then they can't say that. Then they can't say that, and they're there. They may still be looking into the possibility that that was put out there. But again, if I knew somebody's name, I could get their address and phone number held a lot quicker than than doing it that way. And look, what are you gonna do with addresses and phone numbers? Yeah, you know, there's nothing. Well that's
why I think there's something a lot either. Either there's something a lot more valuable stored on there, which I'm assuming could be anything to their their ip uh, their ip um, like a lot of information on product development, things like that like that. It seems much more of an attack on that to me. The more you look at it from the outside looking in, then it does like going after a certain person's you know, information and things
like that. I spoke with Chris Gilmore, which who is a friend of ours and does tons in it and everything, and as he was saying, you know, this is here, this seems to be like cutting patch cables was his thought, you know, cutting vandalizing servers, you know, damaging
ripping up the patches and not really necessarily databases with customer information. And this is someone who knows and works in this industry and has for decades, so that I mean, he even did He even went as far as to say it was just a smashing grap just a very elaborate smashing grap which it could have been. But I really I can't wait to see that list when it comes out of what was taken, and I want to know what these people
were able to get. I don't think we'll ever know everything that they got because it was on a computer, it's not a physical item. Yeah, and there's very very it's very easy for Panini, especially if something was stolen, for them to say that it just never existed in the first place, because there's no way for you to see it. If especially if they're hosting their own stuff and the like, there's no way for you to know if it was actually there or not. So I don't think we ever find out
exactly what they were in there after. Well. The other the other question that I had is that and I don't know the answer to this one, but is that the office where all of the graphic design has done for the different products. And that's what I was mentioning before. That's what I think this is probably more about. Yeah, and if if that's the case, you know, how is that going to impact the future products that have not been sent to the where the designs have not been sent to the printer yet.
Yeah, yeah, you know, if they're at the printer already, the printer has the designs, you know, okay, whatever, they're gone, but you know they're they're already being produced. But the ones that haven't been sent to the printer, which are probably you know, the ones that are you know, early fall fall releases or stuff that's coming out early next year. Um, in any concepts like the concepts of new products, new
things along those lines. Yeah, and that would be um, you know, that would be my concern, you know, as as the company. But um, all right, so I think we'll keep you guys updated. But yes, um, there will get a lot more information, I'm sure. But rest easy, everybody. Your redemptions are okay, the redemptions. We're not stolen redemptions. Your redemptions are perfectly safe. There's no there's no need to worry about your redemptions. There's no need to worry about any of
the product that you ordered. There are other things you need to worry about. Excuse me, former President, yes, say that there is nothing to worry about with redemptions, well as far as as far as redemptions being stolen from that office, that's what. There's nothing to worry about with with that. But there are other issues with redemptions that we do need to worry about. Yeah, and that is what we're gonna a beautiful segue for mister Trump,
who is our guest today. Um keeping along with the Panini not being able to catch a break. I don't know what happened here, but my god, was this. This is a pretty big fuck up. I got a couple of I got a couple of theories on this one. Oh, I'll let you. I'll let you get into it first, and then I'll then I'll yeah, then I'll right out all the different possibilities that I think
it could be. So a certain collector, I'm going to leave out his name because I've not spoken to him, But a certain collector had an open redemption ticket, and this redemption ticket has been over let's see okay twenty seven Okay, he submitted this redemption back in the twenty seventeen twenty eighteen eras. So he's been waiting for this for quite some time, almost five years,
been waiting for redemption. The redemption he was waiting for was an immaculate dual logo man of Lonzo Ball and Jason Tatum logo man autograph that just sold on eBay for twenty three thousand dollars. The exact card with the Panini snicker over, the one touch and everything, just like a redemption would be sent back. No white box stamp on it, no nothing, straight up exact same card that this person has been waiting for for over five years, has an
open ticket that has been opened four years. Yet somehow this card makes it out of the office onto eBay and a completed and confirmed sale by third party platforms at track this of twenty three thousand dollars. Okay, now what I
were there? Well here, so I'm thinking one of a couple of things, right, I mean, it could just be a simple missing As we know, the Panini has brought in a bunch of new people to fulfill redemptions, it could just be a simple mistake of somebody grabbing the wrong card and shipping it to the wrong person. Now, was there another product in the seventeen eighteen product line that had a dual auto logo man of Lonzo Ball and Jason Tatum. I doubt it, and possibly the only other ones that it
would possibly be and would be flawless. But I don't see them doing Lonzo and Tatum and flawless and immaculate. I would assume they would switch that up in some way, shape or form. It could have been. It could have all I mean, there could have also been one of National Treasures as well. Use keep in mind, this was Lonzo Ball's rookie year. This was his rookie logo. Man on people. Actually people actually cared about Lonzo
ran at this point I never play again. Unfortunately, and believe it or not, Lonzo Ball of the two names that are on there at the time was the Chase name, oh fifty times Tatum Yeah, now it's Tatum. Yeah. But the so I'm thinking it's either it was either sent by mistake, you know, somebody sent the immaculate one instead of the you know, nt or flawless one to you know, to the wrong person. Yeah,
that that's a possibility. It's also it's also possibility that the guy who you know, or I don't want I would say the person because I want to be politically correct here, the person that sent out the redemption knew the guy that was receiving the redemption and just said, Hey, I'm just gonna put this massive card in yours and nobody's gonna notice, nobody'll ever find out, you know, I enjoy, and then the guy goes and sells it.
Um, that's a possibility as well, Mum. It's you know, also a possibility that you know, somebody had no idea what they were doing and des grab something and through it as a replacement. You know, I saw the card was from seventeen eighteen. You know, didn't bother to check to see if their redemption on it was still an open status or if it had
been redeemed. You know, if it wasn't redeemed, it's very possible, you know, that it could have been sent out to somebody as a replacement, right, you know, because I don't think I don't know if they would have put that in a white box. That's too big of a card for them. It's enormous. Yeah, that's one of those where you know, somebody has a fifty thousand dollars card that isn't getting made. You know, that's what they're getting as a replacement. So that's a possibility as well.
Now I also want to know because I want to tell you right now, if I had that card, first thing I'm doing with that card, I you know, it doesn't even condition, it doesn't even matter. First thing I'm doing with that card is going to get a slabbed. Yes, yep, So why it look, I understand, you know PSA would have charged normanal leg to slab the damn thing. But but there's other options. Yeah, you could have gotten it done it Beckett cheaper. You could have
gotten done an SGC cheaper. Those are the only two other options I would have sent that particular card too. Oh yeah. But the you know the fact that it never got slabbed is well. And it also ended up in the hands of a massive, massive seller on eBay. I've reached out to him. It's Then and Now Collectibles, the over feedback and a and a great, great, great um feedback record for this person that's actually saw in
this card. I've reached out to them through eBay um to see any information that I could get on how they acquired the card, you know, and if it was because I'd love to know if it was just sent as an accident, you know, I'd love to know the answer to that question. And that's one of the things that I've asked them. I've yet to hear back. I'm going to continue writing until I at least hear something or tell them telling me to shut the hell up. Yeah, and I don't think
I don't think you're gonna hear them back from them. I don't think you know, they would even admit to it being an accident. Well, it definitely not now, because this dude is he has said if Keninian does not do something about and compensate him now that there is a sale on it, Yeah, and it's a recent sale, what they confirmed value. If he doesn't get that money or that type of value back in something that he's happy
for, he is going to take them to court. And and this is one, this is one that actually has a chance, yes, because this isn't one of those like you never sent me my redemption or anything like that, you know, and there's like there's fine you know, there's fine print that covers Penini and a lot of those cases but in this case, they sent the card that technically belonged to the guy who had the redemption card for it to somebody else, and it was sold for a massive amount of money.
Well, let me rephrase that to you and I. That's a massive amount of money. To somebody else, that's you know, pocket change, but it our eyes, it's a massive amount of money. And this guy who was supposed to get the redemption is now out. That is completely different than any of the other situations in regarding redemptions that people have tried to supernal
right, this one actually has a chance. Yes, So this is not like the stupid class action lawsuits and all that and the wah wahs of when my redemption expired, or I redeemed it when it was expired and got something
worse, or I couldn't get it. Like the person with Dak Prescott where has ended up in a white box, Well, it's because you redeemed it after the after the expiration date, and they had already, you know, even though he was told it would be taken care of after the National, it was probably already sitting in a white X. It's probably in that white box at the National that same national at the table. But with this, this is very, very different, and the main it just shows a bigger
issue right now, and I mean the whole redemption process. As Panini goes through what looks to be them trying to clear out their redemptions, you're not seeing as many in products. The ones that you are seeing in new products are being fulfilled insanely fast. I look at the Kenny Pickett Contenders and Contenders Optics, those were ready on release date. So these new redemptions that are
coming out aren't taking near as long to fulfill. And I'm talking in the last couple of months, not six eight months ago, but the last couple of months. The products that have had redemptions have been basically ready to go right when the product comes out. So it's clear as day with the Sparkle packs changing their redemption policy all that they're trying to get as much of this redemption stuff out of the way and out of their business as humanly possible.
But and I'm still I'm gonna tell you, I'm still pissed off about them using the Shagelogus Abazander sticker autos yes on newer product instead of fulfilling the damn product that I've been waiting on for four and a half years. So that's another issue, and that's where I'm that's where I'm going with this is while they're trying to figure out this solution to the redemption pile and the horde of stuff that's going on right now, they do not have the right people in
place to do this. There have been so many mistakes and this has been so mishandled. This is a very simple There is a very simple and logical, an easy way to do this, and I know some of the people at Panini not near as much as I used to. Even though I will say Tracy Hackler is headed back to Panini, which I'm really yes now it's not the same job as before. I don't know the exact title as of
now, but Tracy Hackler is headed back to Panini. I don't know if he's going to be doing Kentucky road Show as well, but I'm hoping getting Tracy back in there, maybe give him. I don't know if I was in times more responsibility, because this man was responsible for the golden years of Panini. Yeah, so much more than anyone else new. But the people in there right now and the way they're handling redemptions as a whole is pathetic.
It is, Yeah, and I don't agree. And what they what they really need to do is they need to contract somebody who knows what the hell they're doing. Yes, even if they don't have to make an employee, just bring them in as a as a contractor for a short period of time to take a look at what's going on, reorganize everything, and get it back on track. Yep. And I mean if they I mean, I look, they could hire the two of us. Was about to say,
we haven't figured out. We couldn't figured out in a week exactly. That's my problem right there. You could take two people that you could take a group of two five people let's say that know the hobby well, that know what you're looking for, the understand the process, the steps, everything like that. You and myself easily could be part of that team. I could fill out the team with I don't know, in my group chats alone
through the hobby, fifty different people I can think of. They could go in there and help fix this problem immediately, like like you said, within a week. Yet we're seeing so many problems and then you get to the ultimate problem, which is this right here. Yeah, twenty three thousand dollars cards showing up on eBay while someone's got a literal open ticket. I'm sorry,
but this isn't This wasn't just some random one of one you. This is a dual fucking logo man auto of a Jason Tatum and the one of the biggest rookies at the time in twenty seventeen, one of the most hyped rookies in the last ten years in Lonzo ball, Like, those cards need to be kept separate from my Kenny Pickett Phoenix auto. You know what I mean, exactly needs to be that shit needs to be in different rooms,
maybe on a different shelf like something. There's been a no, it needs to be in a safe yes, Like yeah, they need to have a vault for those total cards because there's enough there's a look, there's enough of them that are outstanding that would warrant a vault. Yeah, built built in
the facility with redemption in order to send us out. And there should be or they should be locked up in a manager's office somewhere, and you know, when they get sent out, you know, it should be management that ships it as opposed to you know, some underling who's who's running down you know, the who's running a redemption department down there somewhere, you know, And it's look, it's just a it's a security issue, it's it's exactly
what it should be. Yep. So no, I completely agree. So one thing for serious man is out as of now, twenty three dollars and a pretty massive card. Just like the first instance. We will keep you guys up they did with any information we get on this. I have a feeling this one probably gonna play out a little more publicly than the break in will, so we'll probably hear a lot of this stuff and some updates on this pretty soon. But the redemption process is an absolute mess right now over
at Panini along with their offices after the break in. Honestly, yeah, now that is true. And you know what Drew speaking of vaults, Yeah, we need to fill ours. We'll be back after this. Then the vault is full and we are back. Everyone. Welcome back to episode one hundred and eighty seven of Let Me get that photograph. And being that we are kicking into June, it's that time, mister Rappaport. It is time
for the release date rundown. All right, we got some big stuff, well not necessarily top dollar kind of stuff, but we've got some important, really big products that are coming out. So tomorrow June second, we're recording on the first. You know, episode may come out tomorrow. You never know. Bowman University own Basketball's coming out. So Wemby Autos. Yeah, there we go, and there is there is now a question on whether or not he is a Fanatics exclusive for signing. Well, we will know.
A couple of little birdies have whispered into my ear that is in fact true. So if that is the to and if that is the case, this is going to be a massive product because he will not have any other rookie autos with any of the Panini products that happen. Yeah, if that is the case. Right, what else we got coming out on the seventh next week? We have Top Series two baseball that is always a favorite product, and a couple of guys made it in that. I didn't think we're going
to We've got Anthony Vulpe. I thought for sure he would have been he was up late enough to make it to update. I didn't think they get him in Series two. We've got uh. We had Jordan Walker into I was just I was just about to bring that up, card number six hundred and twenty two, Alec Burlison, there we go. Francisco Alvarez is one
of the big rookie names in there. We've got Corbyn Carroll is going to be in there as well, and a whole bunch of other guys that Drew Waters who who has not talked about, Josh Young, the Rangers, Um, you know, just looking at it just I'm just quickly going through the list. Um, those Rangers deep and their rookies are so freaking oh man,
that that's a team I'm watching. And we also have Brendan Davis Tigers rookie, not to be confused with Brennan Davis who is not called up yet, but I'm really excited for when he eventually gets to the Cubs up here on the side. So looking down the list, we also have UH twenty two twenty three Uppertick Extended Hockey coming out on the seventh as well. On
the ninth we have Panini Donris UFC that's a twenty twenty three product. We also have twenty two twenty three Panini Select FIFA, which should be a fun product. And I'm going to talk a little bit about Select in Select Premier League in the next segment. We've got Revolution WWE coming out on the sixteenth. We have twenty twenty two Panini Select Football coming out of the fourteenth.
That's gonna be an interesting one with the xrcs that is. We've got twenty twenty two, twenty three Finest Overtime Elite Basketball coming out on the ninth. Really, yes, nine, that's gonna be that's gonna be a interesting product. We've got Panini three and two baseball. We've got Leaf Metal Draft Football, Hobby and Jumbo coming out on the sixteenth. On the twenty first,
we have Tops Chrome Overtime Elite and that's gonna be a big one. But I still have a bunch of last year's stuff that I'm sitting on just waiting for the draft. Well see, that's what I was about to say. With this ot stuff really fast. With both of the Thompson brothers going into this draft. This is the first draft since the Overtime Elite products have come out. We're we're gonna have players eligible for the draft. No second,
there were there were a couple that were eligible last year. That I meant that actually have a projected NBA future. Yes, that are, and both of them are projected lottery picks. They're talking about Aiman probably being top five, and so this is where you could possibly see Ote get a lot more attention depending on how these guys pan out. Well. List of projected draft list I saw a couple weeks ago had Aimen going four and Auser going five.
There you go. Now again that's a couple of weeks old. It's you know, uh, they're not Wemby eyes were on him, but going down. Let's see what else we have, uh, twenty twenty two A project Goodwin champions is coming out in the twenty eighth and also on the twenty eight, twenty two, twenty three Black Diamond Hockey nice uh, and then
from a piny one Football is on the twenty eighth. Select Basketball is coming out on the twenty eighth, and I'm really hoping they do with Select football and basketball this year like they did with Select the Select Soccer products for retail. And I'll explain that more in the next segment as well. And then let's see stuff that we don't have a date on but is projected to come
out in June at some point, twenty twenty two Tops MLS Renaissance. I don't know what that product is. I'm gonna have to look that up. We finally, finally have twenty twenty two Tops Chrome Road to UEFA Nations League Final, Hobby and Light at some point, We've got a bunch of Leaf products. We've got twenty twenty two, Trinity Football twenty twenty three, Trinity
Basketball twenty twenty three, Leaf Vibrants Multi Sport. That should be a fun one, yes, and then oh Leaf Autograph Jersey Basketball coming out as well, and one that I never thought that they would make a product of it because at the time Kevin Smith app oh no, never mind, it wasn't that. It was a different movie that he absolutely hated. But Chasing Any Trading Cards are coming out, and I really hope it's an Upper Deck product.
I am really hoping that there are Ben Affleck autos in there. Dude as a massive Kevin Smith band. Mall Rats is still one of my favorite. Well, now he hated he hated Mall Rat I don't give a shit what he thought about it. I loved it, and I heard I heard they're coming out of a sequel. Well that's just terrible, but yeah, I know, but that's kind of what it is. So that was speaking on MLS renaissance real quick. Yep, I took a little look at it
while you were going through this. This looks like the first ever MLS high end product. This looks like an immaculate, flawless type of dynasty type of field. These are cut autos, massive jumbo patch on card stuff. This is a ridiculously cool looking set. Well, there's a lot of the younger guys that had rookies in the last couple of years in the MLS products that are currently playing in the U twenty World Cup down in Argentina and are absolutely
killing it. The US is the only team so far. They're in the round of a right now, they have not conceded a goal the entire tournament. Yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing what comes up with that. And then obviously we've got the Conkey CAFF Nations League and COCKYCFT Gold Cup coming up this summer as well. There's a decent amount of MLS players that are gonna be playing in that, so I think this is a really good time for
that product. Upon this it also looks insanely limited as autograph relics, the highest their number two is twenty. So this is like, this is going to be a very limited release of some high end stuff. So that's pretty cool. I like that. Yeah, I'm looking forward to it. So, so before we move on looking at the release date calendar, you mentioned series two. You mentioned a couple of surprising names. After looking at the rookie card checklist and every venue, the people that they put in there,
what do you see for update? That's a good question. Update. If my memory serves me correctly, players typically have until the first week in June in order to get called up. Yeah, to make it to update, that's about to cut off the name. So I don't know that. That was my biggest question when you listed off those names. I'm thinking, unless someone's called up in the next seven well, well, but here's the thing. There are a couple of guys that may get called up that are big
names in the prospect world. Ellie de la Cruz, um Ronnie Mauricio may end up getting called up. Um do the Giants call up Marco Luciano? Yeah, you know, there there's all sorts of I think the Mariners have a ton of prospects that you know could pop in any day as well. Miguel Amaya came up for the Cubs, played a couple of played a couple of games last month. He's not in Series two, so he'll be an update or he should be an update. I don't think they'd hold untill next
year. Yeah. Um so there's all sorts of you know, guys that you know, could potentially It sounds like they're banking on Ellie probably getting called up for update, and they may and I wouldn't put it past I would not put it past you know, if Ellie doesn't get called up until the you know tenth instead of the seventh, right, I wouldn't put it past him to push that deadline a couple of Yeah. You know how easy it is nowadays to push products. Yeah yeah, pushing it back a week or
two, and then you know, including him in it. I think they, you know, because they can have the rest of the product designs done and just have a placeholder, um right, you know for him where all they need to do is pop in and they could put the stats in there and so you know, the back of the card can be done already. They could put the portrait photo into the name. They just need a game
photo of some sort to you know, to throw in there. Yeah, I could see them doing that, sure, but that Yeah, that's what I'm thinking for update. But we'll we'll find out closer to the end of the season that we will. But Series two one of the big releases coming out this month in June. But that's gonna do it for this month's release
date. Run now all right, but now Drew speaking of later, speaking of the end of the season, Yeah, I could say, Um, soccer season just ended for Europe. I mean, let's be honest, that's all people don't care about anyway. Um. A couple of products that have popped recently Premier League Select, which is absolutely insane. I've been in a couple of breaks recently and I've noticed I've also you know, picked up some
some retail in some hobby. They did not make the retail cards the Bass cards a different color, yeah, compared to the Hobby cards this year, which is great because they the last couple of years with basketball, with you know, football, UFC, in WWE, they've been blue instead of normal like silver, and levels are insanely there's only fifty for soccer instead of you
know, the hundred like there is any other sports. And I kind of understand why they want to put the big names and field level, you know, things like that. Not every player has a card in all levels. You know, uh Matoma with Brighton Hove, he's only in the mezzanee level. Ye, so we've got terrorists mezzanine and then field level as the shortest print. And they've put in some solid, you know, retired player autos
that people are chasing in there. Now I will tell you, let me give it, you know, give a little bit of a rundown kind of on how the ending of the season is going to, you know, maybe affect things. But when I was in this break, you know, watching it, and I made a comment about how because it's English Premier League, he should be doing the break in an English accent, and he kind of laughed, so he said he'd butcher it. But you know what, I'm
gonna give it a shot. So we're gonna talk about the end of the soccer season as if we were English drew. The English Premier League has ended fall the season with Manchester City taking the top spot with Awsinal, finishing down in second as was expected for the last couple of weeks. Manchester United, however, had moved up to third and secured a Champions League spot with the season surprise of Newcastle finishing in fourth. And we'll be playing in the Champions
League for the next season. And they also make a beautiful beer that makes Liverpool the odd man out to finish in fifth and we'll be playing in the Europa League. Along with another surprise Brighton and Hove they are going to be going to the Europa League as well, and I believe it is west Ham that is going to be going to the Europa Conference League. Last day in the Boonderes League, I saw some surprises with their own Munich overtaking Barossa Adultman
for the top spot. Ages laugh near as this. And we have the FA Cup Final coming up this weekend with Manchester United versus Manchester City. My money is on City for this one. And a week later we have the massive Champions League Final which again features Manchester City as an overwhelming favorite versus Inner Milan. Big news also broke this morning that is going to affect the hobby. Kareem ben Zimma from Real Madrid has been confirmed to be leaving Real and
going to Saudi Arabia. Boy he's headed to join Christiano Ronaldo, not on the same team, but in the same league. It has also been confirmed that Lionel Messi will not be rejoining PSG next season and is also rumored to be going to a Saudi Arabian team. All right, that's all gonna do for that one, all right. So anyway, so you've got Benzema confirmed going to Saudi Arabia. You've got Messi confirmed or not confirmed, but confirmed to be leaving PSG, not then rumored to be going to Saudi Arabia.
It's also rumors he might go back to Barsa. There's some rumors that you know, uh Inner Miami, the MLS. I don't think they've got them, even even though like a David Beckham running you know, run team. I don't think they've got the money to be able to get get Messi over there. A couple of years maybe, so a good chance at Messi winds
up in Saudi Arabia. So we've got Ronaldo that's there, now, we've had Benzamo that's going there, and we have Messy that's possibly going there, and there's some other you know, mid tier guys that are starting to to leave some of the European club leagues and go over there as well. What does that do to the hobby? Yeah, I don't know, man, It's gonna be interesting because obviously Saudi is not exactly thought of as a powerhouse.
Although I will say with Saudi Entertainment Ventures if you're not familiar with who those are, anyone listening, this is a company in Saudi and Entertainment Venture that is trying to buy up everything they can. They were about to possibly purchase WWE. They're getting a lot of the they're getting a lot of American and European based entertainment in the sports world and really trying to bring that over into Saudi. And it's really making Saudi become a massive powerhouse in these special
event type of deal type of things. So maybe more eyes get put on them through that. But when you have people like Benzema and possibly Messy going over there, you gotta start paying attention, dude, I mean. And then well, but then there's also the side effect from that as well, because the Saudi Arabian teams play in the Asia's version of the Champions League.
Yes, So you know, having those big names potentially playing in the Asian Champions League, how do you know, does that raise the profile of you know, some of the Japanese or Korean clubs. Um. You know there's rumors that Russia may leave UEFA and join the Asian Confederations. Well because they've been banned from UEFA. Um, you know, since they invaded Ukraine. Right, And you could argue the politics on whether that was right or wrong
or whatever all you want. We're not going to talk about that. But if that happens, you know, you've got some solid Russian club teams that could be potentially competing in the Asian Champions League as well. So it's one of the It's one of the things where it's like, Okay, you've got these big names that are not going to have cards produced with the especially with Benzima now that he's retired from international competition. Yeah. You know, Ronaldo
I don't believe is going to be playing for Portugal any longer. And while Messi is still playing for Argentina, there are questions as to how long that is going to remain the case. Yeah, And once that happens, it's
like Okay, well we're not gods. But speaking of cards, let's talk about Manchester City for a mine, because obviously they've got two very very high profile games coming up, and we all know Earling Holland won the Golden Boot by a landslide, set a new Premier League goals record, just absolutely ran rough shot over the entire Premier League and frankly all of Europe this season. But there's a guy on Manchester City who I haven't keeping an eye on all
season. And while he's not a starter only because he would be a starter on pretty much any other Premier League team, but because Earling Holland is there and they played the same position. He's kind of rude, but he's still put up. He's put up great numbers given the limited playing time as Julian Alvarez. Yeah, oh yeah, you know, he killed it for Argentina
during the World Cup. He you know, he's played extraordinarily well, you know, with limited time with Manchester City, and yet there's like no love in the hobby. No, not even during the World Cup when he was playing so amazing. There wasn't any World Cup hype or any World Cup bump. It was all about Embabe, which understandably so Imbobe Ronaldo messy stuff like that. But when you've got a guy putting up minutes like that, and you've got a prospecting and a speculating hobby like we have, yeah, I
think he would get that attention. But for some reason he never gets that attention. But maybe these next two games being so featured, maybe a hell well but no, But that's the thing. I don't know how much playing time he's gonna get in these two games. I can't. I mean,
he said Hollands. Holland's having a season for literally the ages that is not being talked about near enough unless unless city goes up, you know, by three or more goals in the city, you know, in like the mid second half, right, I can't see Pep taking Holland out of that game.
Yeah, I can't. I can't. Now again, if they've got a good if they've got a solid lead, you know, if you've got twenty five minutes left in a game, and you know, or even thirty minutes left in the game with a three goal lead, while you know technically it's not insurmountable, it would be a miraculous comeback. See happened. Yeah, and given that we're we're talking about the striker position and not you know, a defensive position, I think that I think that's the only way that
we see Alvarez. And and then the problem there becomes, you're up three zero already, most of it's gonna be a much less aggressive attacking offense and much more of a no, no, no no. If they've got if they've got possession, they're gonna they're gonna be Even if they're up by five, they're still gonna they're still going to be just as aggressive. You know.
They may take a little bit longer, you know, and you know, pass a little bit more before, you know, moving up into the in the penalty area, but I still see them being aggressive and not taking their foot off the gas, you know, because again they want to they want to end the FA Cup tournament and the Champions League. They want to
end that with a massive punctuation. And then thinking, you know, they could be up by eight and I still don't see them putting you know, I still won't see them laying back and saying no, we're not going to do this music. Well, maybe Alvarez does get a little attention, but He is definitely someone that would benefit from a Benjama type move somewhere else. But at the same time, you're already with one of the top clubs. Exactly where would you go you really want to leave, right And I don't
think that's the case. I ain't. He wants to stay. But he's also the kind of guy that can come off the you know, come off the bench with ten minutes left in the game and you know, two minutes later he's putting one in the back of the net. Right. You know, that's happened on multiple occasions this season, and it's a great player to have exactly. And look, I mean, don't get me wrong, Manchester
United is not a shoddy team. You know, look at the roster they look they've had a bad couple of bad seasons and you know, the drama with Ronaldo and you know, things like that. It's just it's it's hurt them. But you know, ten Hag is a great manager. I think they've got a good future ahead of them. But I just think Manchester City has the better lineup and you know it is going to be the better team in that city, you know, for the next five to six years.
I'd agree with that, you know, just like they have been for the last four to five and I still see them being able to put up a five you know, Man City, I think they can put up a five spot on Man You look, you know, the hey has a great goalie. But you know, but again you're going up against Holland and most of
the time. Look, the honest part is, as a goalie myself, the majority of the time that the ball goes in the net, there's really nothing a goalie can do about it, right, you know, if they've got it to the point where you know, a good shot comes off and winds up going to the other side, and that's so big. You know, it's not like hockey, Yeah, where you know, defense fails the goaliees got a really good shot of blocking it. This is a complete different
story. If your defense collapses, your goaltender has got no shot. Oh yeah, you know, and that you know, that's why that's why the vast majority of penalty kicks go into the net. Yeah. Um, and the ones that don't are usually you know, kicked high or shanked off to the side. Um. It's it's rare to see a you know, a goalie block at penalty kick. Although it does happen. Oh yeah, Um so a couple of kids do it at tournament. This game is great.
Um, Like I'm sitting I'm sitting at ref and I'm like, damn, you know, and look, normally I don't see anything the players, but like a play like that, I'm like, you know, I had to say something. I you know, I had no horse in those races. I didn't have, you know, any involved with any teams. But I'm like, damn, kid, great save, right, and you know it
stuff like that. But it's like, you know, yeah, I don't as good as your goalie is. I don't see you know, it doesn't make as much of a difference as having a solid defense and you know stuff like that. So um yeah, that's all. That's all I got on that nice Well, before we wrap up the show, we do have some
breaking news here that I do want to drop really quick. Just found out that a nineteen ninety seven Shaquilo Neil Green PMG those are the ones numbered out of ten a PSA four just broke the record for an all time highest price for any Shaquilo Neil cards sold. It just sold for a hundred and seventy five thousand, two hundred dollars. Now, wait a second, were those numbered two ten or were those number one? That's the one where they're out
of one hundred, But the greens are the first ten. Yes, Okay, that's what I thought. So it is numbered out of one hundred, but the green copies, the rest or red the greens are the first ten in the run. Yeah, so there's ten greens and ninety reds. Yes, but it's the iconic shock dunking nineteen metal universe in a four which again it's a PMG. So Greig really doesn't matter. You're just going to authenticated because there's a ton of fakes out there. But all time record for shock
Card one seventy five, two hundred and what was the what was? What was the platform it's sold on? That is what I'm looking for right now. Do not have the platform? Just have that it was a confirmed record
sale coming from the Collectibles grow over on Twitter. Okay, it could have been a private sale, yeah, because I think if I think if it were on Golden or Heritage or PWCC or something like that, that we would have we would have heard about that directly from them or you know, seeing the auction prices going up on that one, so that that was most likely a private sale. Yeah, massive mesive sale and then all new high for
all new high for shock. I think the only thing. I think the only person spending that kind of money on check cards would probably be Shack himself. No, I don't know. I have no reason to doubt that it's not. I have no reason to believe that it is Shack that actually bought the card. Yeah, but the green the green pmgs, especially if the stars don't pop up very often. Yeah, so actually do it. I can see that being a sale. Yeah, but a really huge sale for
the Shack market. Just wanted to bring that up before we wrap up this week's show, which Scott, I think this is a prime opportunity to do. Yeah, it's been a great show this week. Um, you know, scandal of course, because it's always there's always something scandal going on. Next week, we've got some good stuff coming up for you.
