Episode 23 - Sneaker Story Time

And today, since it is going to be another solo episode, unfortunately we have no guest because I can't leave my house and I am social distancing and I'm doing my best to stay at home. The only time I go out is for a walk or anything. But uh yeah, that's pretty much it. So there's no guests this week, but I promise you guys, after this quarantine is over, we're going to have the most fire guests you can imagine. I promise you. So today we have like a few things I wanted to

um bring up. So today I have a few interesting stories and this week the episode would be kind of like a story time I guess about like a few different shoes. And this week it's going to be a story time about somebody on Reddit who actually was in a near debt. The first story I have for you guys to stay is from Reddit. So it's from someone named Jerome. I don't know if that's his real name or not, but basically he was hit by a car.

And essentially, if you are very hurt and you need to be taken by the ambulance, I guess the standard procedure is to have the clothes cut off you so they can see exact like what was injured and they can just take off the clothes like as easy as easily as possible, because in situations where you get hurt really bad, UM, a lot of the times, the paramedics they actually don't even want to move you, just in case they don't want to hurt you even more so, I guess this guy was such a sneaker head he

begged the paramedics not to cut his Jordan's and actually they only cut the laces because I guess the guy was nice enough to not cut the shoes in half. And the guy said, quote, please not the Jordan's, sir, So Jerome said that to the paramedics attempting to cut off his air Jordan once following being hit by a car. Instead of saving his own life, he actually saved his Jordan's, which is a very sneaker head thing to do. If I've ever heard of something that's sneaker head related, and

I just that's blows my mind. I mean, honestly, let's talk about this. If you were in a scenario, God forbid, knock on wood, God forbid, and like, never this happens to you. Let's say you're wearing a box logo I know you guys are probably gonna cringe when you listen to this, but let's say you're wearing a box Logo shirt with some leave Itton Supreme jeens. I know, very pricey, very pricey. I don't even own those are too expensive,

and some Travis Scott Jordan's once. And on top of that, you had a Supreme box Logo hoodie over your box Logo T shirt because obviously every high piece has to have two Bucks logoes on at the same time. Obviously, Like I mean, I'm wearing two buxs logoes right now as we speak in my own house. Just kidding, I'm actually wearing high plane. Shout out Jordan if you're listening to this, wearing a high plant. Very comfortable, very nice. Uh, I very much approved, Thank you Jordan's. But anyway, what

would you do if you were in that scenario? Would you tell them not to cut your clothes off for the sake of not ruining them, or would you just let them do whatever they want. I feel like some people will probably answer for them not to cut the clothes. I mean, obviously, our our friend Jerome here Um didn't want them to cut the Jordan's, which you know is respectable, respectable Um clothes. I guess even if they're cut in half, you could probably stitch them back together. But shoes, I

don't even know. I mean, with clothes, it'll still it'll look bad. It really will and won't look good. But I mean, if I was in a situation like that, obviously, like life is more important than anything. You know, maybe Jerome, um wasn't that hurt and Um, he just didn't want them to mess up his shoes. I mean, clearly he was awake and aware that they were about to cut his shoes in half, so he you know, asked them not to, which you know, is a good sign. Jerome,

if you're listening to this, I hope you're okay. Bro. I will say a prayer for you, sending you positive vibes. Um, not that that does anything, but I hope you're out there getting better. And Uh, if you are listening to this, um, come on the show. I'd love to talk to you. It sounds like a pretty an incredible story, but I mean, the likelihood of that is so low. move on to the next story. So the next story I have for you guys today is the easy Quantum. Barrium is coming soon. So now, for those of you who don't know, the easy Quantum is the basketball shoe that Kanye West designed the Easy basketball shoe that was really hyped only dropped in Chicago during I can't remember exactly what it was for, but it only dropped in Chicago and Kanye was giving them up for free and

they were extremely hard to get there. I think they're reselling for like eight hundred to a thousand dollars now. And I guess there's a green color way coming out. It's like a military green. I love that color. Olive military green or whatever you guys wanna call it is my favorite color. And I think they look pretty sick. And shout out my guys at Easy Mafia for posting that up. Those look flames. I actually am very excited for those to come out, and I don't know, I

think this will look so cool. And I guess they were supposed to come out very soon, but things got postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic unfortunately. I mean, it's stillaying everything, man, it is what it is, and I guess there was some new shoes. New New Easy is also that we're coming out as well. The blue oats um they're like the Easy Boost three eight, but they're like yellow and gray on top with the blue stripe and a yellow mizzle. I'm not really sure how I

feel about this. Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of these. I really don't think that those are going to resell for a whole lot. I mean, I love the Aliens, they were three eighties. I love. This is a very strange color way. I'm really not that excited about it. I'm not gonna lie. Also, there's another one. There's another three two coming out that is for phil Is Raphill. It's spelled I S R A F I L. Honestly, I'm not really that big of a fan. And I guess they're the new Yeasies have like a new like

lacing system of some sort. I'm not really sure exactly what that entails. Um it's like a bungee lace. I guess it's really it's really hard to see, Like what does bungee lacing even mean? There the laces, I guess I don't know how to would you even pick those off? It's weird. If you guys look up the easy V two's raf Phil right now in the meantime, you get to see what I'm talking about. I don't really get

the new lacing system. I guess um, when I get a pair of those, which I will get because I am easy best to obvious see um, I will be the judge on whether or not it's cool. But I don't know. V twos really haven't been doing it for me recently. I did really like them Desert Sages. I thought those were cool, really nice color um. But for the most part, V twos really haven't been doing it for me. They really haven't. I love you, Kanye, but

still they haven't really been doing it for me. So there was another sneaker that Easy Mafia had posted for April Fool's Day, a pair of all Red V two seven hundreds. And everybody knows that obviously the all red color way is a it derives from the Red October. And I really don't think that Connie will ever release another all red shoe. I think he might even get into a little bit of trouble because of that, So I don't know if that will ever happen. Yeah, he

posted it as a joke. A lot of people went crazy. I actually posted my own little April fools a joke. I posted that Travis Scott was wearing fake Travis Scott Jordan once and a lot of people caught that. Last year, I did something similar. I exposed Kanye for wearing a pair of fake wave Runners. I think I can't remember. I think no, no, it was a pair of fake seven two is also I think it was the static V two is also one of my favorite seven hundreds.

But anyway, I posted it. People went crazy. It got shared like over thirty thousand times, um, and it went not so many people were so mad at me. They were like, Oh, what's wrong with you, dude? Are you kidding me? And then they realized it was April Fool's Day and then they look like idiots. Um. Some people thought I was being serious. Some people are like, oh, you gotta be more creative next year. I will be

more creative, I promise you. But I just saw the opportunity this year and I just had to do it to him. So I did it. And I'm sorry. But my guys um at Easy Mafia they killed it with this one too. That one was pretty funny. A lot of people fell forth this as uh. I honestly think it's dope. I would wear that honestly if it was If an all Red seven two came out, I'd cop

i'd cop I think those are fire. Obviously, the Red October is my favorite true, so I am a little bit biased, but I would love to do a comparison video with those in Red October. I wonder if any fake factories started producing this all Red V two. I hope they did, so they lost out a bunch of money. I hate they suck and it would be nice if they wasted money. But anyway, so another true that came out recently was the easy Boost three fifty V two

cinder Reflective um. The cinders are basically like the um Pyro Black V twos, but with a kind of gum bottom. I don't know. I think they look really clean. I think they are even a little bit nicser. I don't know. Actually now I like the prior Black V two is a little bit more, but they're really cool. I really like what the I really like the three M stripe that they put on the on the cinders, the like

reflective stripe. I think that's so cool. I really like how they did the stripe reflective instead of like the whole shoe. I think the stripe isn't much better touch and I guess we have a new lineup as well. Um on the eleven we have I can't remember what they're called. They're the all all black SEV threes. I'm pretty sure those are the V threes. And then we have a pair of all yellow V two three fifties coming out. And we have a pair of the M N V N the minivan I don't know, m and

moving men ven I don't know. I'm not even gonna try to pronounce it with like a white instead of orange. I don't know. He's He's like, obviously I love Kanye. I love you man, if you're listening to this and now you're not but love Kanye. But I don't know, he's just haven't been like doing it for me. Recently, moving on to the next story, we have an update

on the Door Jordan's release. Now, a lot of people were really this is one of the most anticipated drops of this year, if not one of the most anticipated drops this year, and I guess they were supposed to drop in April and it is April now, and they got delayed, Like, I mean, news flash, you know, with all the stuff that's going on, obviously they can't have an in store drop. So I guess they're going to

completely delay. M There is no update yet on them, but I wouldn't be surprised if they came out towards the end of the year. They're probably gonna have to completely redo the whole drop and everything. I know a lot of people are gonna be upset. I'm upset too.

I actually I really wanted to pair. Not that I'm going to really get one because it's two thousand dollars retail and uh, you know dollars recent not twenty, and it'll probably go for like six to seven in my opinion, but I really need to try to get it bare. I've texted like everyone I know from de or I'm like, dude, what do I need to do to get these shoes?

Like how many bags do I need to buy? And so far everyone's literally been like, dude, like there's nothing we can do to help you, and I'm like, oh, sick, great. So UM. A lot of people were anticipating the UM here Jordan one doors to drop this month, probably the most hyped show of the year. I'd say definitely not my favorite TUO of the year. UM. I think it's really clean design. I think it's awesome that Jordan's collabed

with like such an iconic fashion were brand. I think it's awesome that Jordan's collabed with a high end fashion brand. I thought that was so cool. Like, the materials on the shoe are so clean. I have seen them in person. They look beautiful. The the materials are amazing, obviously since it is a door collab, um they used door leather and the details are so mean, such a gorgeous shoe. I really wish I was friends with Kim Jones somehow I could get a pair from him early. That's how

everyone's getting their pairs now. But I mean, it's such a beautiful shoe, and it's definitely not my favorite of the year. There's a few shoes that definitely take the cake for me. For example, I would say that the Travis Scott as be um. Honestly, in terms of design, I liked it more Now in terms of resale, obviously I take the Deal Journal Ones. But in terms of like, if both of them cost the same amount of money and um, same resil same everything, I would choose the

Travis Scott has best over the Journal Ones. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I know a lot of you guys are probably cringing right now, But I mean, honestly, I was kind of bummed by the dealer journal ones like, don't get me wrong, it looks great, it looks clean, very very like beautiful looking. Shoot, but they didn't they didn't

try hard enough. It was so simple, you know, the line details on the shoe are the thing that makes it, like the insul with like the door print and the tongue with the like very very subtle white door print, very very clean. But I just wish they did a little bit more with it. There was some there was some mock ups that people had like made like customs and drawings of them that I think honestly looked a little bit better than the one that actually came out.

But it is a really clean shoe, don't get me wrong, but I still prefer the Travis Scott sp obviously. You know, I got into s Bees a lot more recently, but I do admit that I did get into ESB's right before the wave like really really started. It was just starting to to take off, Like I mean, you guys. An example, I bought a pair of Stuicies for Sucy sbs that with the um like the cherry Stuicies. I don't know the exact nickname. I just call him to Stuciebes.

I bought the Stuicies for four hundred and fifty dollars, which is still on the high side because considering three years ago they were selling for like maybe a hundred bucks. I bought it for four or fifty. Now they're selling for two tho. Okay, so I your boy hopped on the hype train way before. I actually no, I hopped on the hype train before it was even a train.

It was like a bicycle at that point. But now it's crazy to see so many different people wearing sps like now, like even like kids are starting to get into it. Um. Obviously, Travis Scott's influence has been huge on the HOSB game. I think it all really just stems from the ramp complex con that uh my boy Dre and um my other friend and Nicky Diamonds had

done with the Diamonds apply co Um. That kind of, I feel like, kind of brought the energy back to as B because they had they basically had this clear ramp that was made um to show off like all these crazy, rare and expensive dunks. And since it was clear you could see it inside the ramp, which was

really really cool. But obviously Travis's influence has been huge, especially with his He like has his own as be And it's funny because a lot of people are like clowning him because he can't skate and he can't skate, but who cares. Like he loves as Bees, he wears him, and that's it. Now. I know. Skate culture is like very different than um sneaker culture. Actually that's it's kind of similar. But they hate outsiders, they hate posers. That's

like that's a very skate thing, you know. Um. So a lot of people have been like pretending to Kevin, like cutting up there Travis Scott as Bees to like reveal the elephant print underneath or I don't even know if it's elephant print, to be honest with you, Um, I think it's his own print more so. But a lot of people have been cutting it up to make it look like they skated in him. So I definitely am not going to do that. I don't know how

to skate from my life. I really like to Paisley on him anyway, So I'm kind of happy, but um, you will definitely not catch me ripping him up. I will let them wear out on their own. But I have into SPEs quite a lot recently. Now I'm literally just in my room. I'll tell you guys, like some of the top ones off the top of my head that I'm literally looking at right now. Obviously the Travis scott is Be's this year, um looking up their ray guns.

One of my favorites. Tiffany's Tiffany Lowe's one of another one of my favorites. Um Bucks got a pair of Papa Bears, Boba Fett's, Red Lobsters, Purple Lobsters, just just just some of the just some of the ones, like literally right in front of me him. I do have a lot more. I have some heaters, but you know I'm not gonna pull them out right now. There's no need to flex too hard. But um, yeah, it's crazy, Like a lot of people think it's a good time

now to just sell off all their sps. But honestly, I think that the prices are going to keep going up, especially the older ones. They're always gonna be expensive no matter what, even like when as the hype dies, it's still going to be an expensive shoe, Like two years ago, you could about a Nike Paris s B for like I think ten dollars. Now they're going for like fifty sixty. But in two years when that's B hype kind of

dies down. If it dies down, it'll be still say, it would'll be like a forty dollars shot dollar shoe. Like older, older SBS that are impossible to get are still going to be impossible to get, and nobody's gonna want to give them up for like a low price. So I really don't see a lot of SBS going down. The only thing that might make them really lose their value is if um they retro, But from what we've heard at Nike s B recently is that they have

no plans of retro ing anything. The closest thing we got to a retro was the um ray guns, but they weren't really a retro. They had like the new soul Um. They were like a taied version of the original. I thought it was pretty cool, but I mean, obviously the O G is like take it for me. And also we had another release of the biotechs, but biotechs are not sp s, they're dunks, So there's I don't really know like which department controlled the Biotex, but the

Biotex have dropped three times. But I really can't imagine most of these sps are ever dropping again. Like the diamonds are never gonna drop again. Um fo TOAs are never gonna drop again. Red Lobsters are never gonna drop again. Papa Bears are for sure never gonna drop again. Bucks are never gonna drop again. Bucks came out in two thousand and three, so you know, it's been seventeen years.

And I, um, they're actually one of my favorite shoes in my collection, and um, I'm every time I wear them, I'm like scared because I feel like they're going to fall apart. Um. One of my other favorite shoes in my collection are my Jedies. Literally one of my favorites. I'm such a huge Star Wars nerd. I'm literally looking at like a Lego Yoda that I have in my room right now. But the Jedis are definitely i'd say top three shoes in my collection. I love those shoes.

Got them for a really good price. Um out of my guy Damien for actually picking those up for me. Steel price on him. Like, I was very very happy. I've actually warned them quite a few times now. Uh, but yeah, I mean sps are really the thing. Now. I kind of took a tangent when we were talking about the Dior Jordan's. But what do you guys think? Do you guys think it's a good idea to postpone everything or do you guys think everything should have been

moved online? Kind of how supreme has um? Are you guys still excited for the dir Jordan's? Were you guys even excited before that? Just like think about it, you know, I mean I was excited at the same time, like when it when I got postponed, I really wasn't crying about. I wasn't really upset. I figured it was going to happen. Now we have to wait an extra six months to take the L So it's okay, we'll all take the

L together. And Today's sneaker of the week, since I am by myself yet again, I would choose it the cause Jordan's four Now. It's actually one of my favorite shoes that I have in my collection. It's kind of a slipt on chee. It's definitely an expensive brick right now, they're not selling like crazy, but They're still a very expensive shoe. They go anywhere between like tw two thousand dollars. Such a clean shoe obviously causes such a obviously causes

such a huge artist. Right now, everyone like is going crazy for his work. And it was so cool that he did Jordan's Um. Previously he had a air Force, which I've always wanted, but it's extremely expensive right now. Um, but his and I think he did what else did he do? Did he do an s B? I'm not sure.

I don't think so, or maybe he did, I don't know, but anyway, Um, the the cause Jordan Force come in two color ways, the gray and the black, and I really love the gray, like the swede on the gray looks so nice and with the glow in the dark soul such an amazing touch, like such a beautiful shoe. I really think that that that they got slept on and I really see that being a huge grail for people within the years to come. Um. I got my par at a pretty good price and it had a

pretty good time. But yeah, that is this week's sneaker of the week. Um. I'm looking forward to picking the next sneaker of the week next week, hopefully we will have a guest next week and hopefully this quarantine stuff starts slowing down. But anyway, guys, I really hope you guys are saying at home safe. Hug your loved ones for me.
