First, let's do some review. How would you say big and small? Good. Do you remember one or two ways to say man? Good. And do you remember one or two ways to say woman?

Learning the Conjunction 'Because'

Good. The first word we're going to learn is the word for because. Listen and repeat. Good. How do you think you'd say, I like you because you are kind? Good. Here are two words that mean smart or clever. Listen and repeat. Pintar. Pandai. Good. Here's how to say hard as in physically hard or hard work. Listen and repeat. Good. Do you remember how to say... to learn or to study good how do you think you'd say Mary is very smart because she studies hard. Good. Here's the word for fluent.

Listen and repeat. Good. How would you say, my Indonesian is fluent?

Introducing 'So That' and 'But'

Bahasa Indonesia saya lancar. Good. Here's how to say so that or in order to. Listen and repeat. Good. Saya belajar bahasa Indonesia. Good. And how would you say, I learn the Indonesian language so that I can speak fluently? Saya belajar bahasa Indonesia supaya saya bisa berbicara dengan lancar. Good. And how do you say hard? Good. And how do you say because? Good. Here's how to say but. Listen and repeat. Tetapi

Good. But is more formal than but. We'll just use but from now on. How do you say because? Good. Do you remember how to say bitter? Good. How do you think you'd say, I like sweet coffee, but I don't like bitter coffee? Good. Do you remember how to say to? As in, too much of something. Good. How would you say, food that is too spicy? Good. This is a pretty long one, but give it a try. How do you think you'd say, I like Indonesian food. but I don't like food that is too spicy.

Saya suka makanan Indonesia, tapi saya tidak suka makanan yang terlalu pedas. Good. And how do you say so that or in order to? Good. And what are the two ways to say but? Tetapi or tapi? Good.
