In this episode, you will learn:

The five words for "just/only" in Thai are:

    • เแค่ /kâe/
    • เอง /eeng/
    • แต่ /dtàe/
    • เพียง /piang/
    • เท่านั้น /tâo-nán/

The example sentences

  • "I only want one piece," = "ฉันต้องการแค่ชิ้นเดียว" (Chăn dtông-gaan kâe chín-diao)
  • "I can eat only vegetarian food," = "ฉันกินแต่อาหารเจ" (Chăn gin dtàe aa-hăan jay).
  • "I can only speak a little Thai," = "ฉันพูดภาษาไทยเพียงเล็กน้อย" (Chăn pûud phaa-săa tai piang lêk nói).
