Intro / Opening

Hi, welcome to episode number 7 of the Learn Polish Podcast.

Welcome to the Podcast

I'm your host, Roy Collin, and I'm here with the teacher, Kamila. Cześć, Kamila. Cześć, Roy. Co słychać? Wszystko dobrze, dziękuję. A u Ciebie? Też, wszystko świetnie. Wszystko w porządku.

Discussing the Weather

So today we will talk about a very popular topic about weather. First question, what is weather today in Polish will be Jaka jest dzisiaj pogoda? Can you repeat? Jaka jest dzisiaj pogoda? Super, very good pronunciation. So we can reply. Dzisiaj jest ładna pogoda. It means today is nice weather. Dzisiaj jest ładna pogoda. Dzisiaj jest ładna pogoda. Świeci słońce. It means sun shines. Świeci słońce. Świeci słońce. Jest ciepło. It means it's warm.

Jest ciepło. Jest ciepło. Or, jest gorąco, it means it's hot. Jest gorąco. Jest gorąco. Yeah, very good. Or we can say, dzisiaj jest brzydka pogoda. It means today is ugly weather. Dzisiaj jest brzydka pogoda. Dzisiaj jest brzydka pogoda. Brzydka. Brzydka. How would you say terrible weather? Because we wouldn't say ugly weather in our country. We say ugly weather, brzydka pogoda. I'm always terrible. There will be a terrible weather. Today is a terrible weather.

But we say brzydka is more popular. Pada deszcz. It means it's raining. Pada deszcz. Pada deszcz. Pada śnieg. It means it's snowing. Pada śnieg. Jest zimno. It's cold. Jest zimno. Jest mroźno. It's freezing. Jest mroźno. Jest wietrznie. Jest windy. Jest wietrznie. Wietrznie.

Describing Typical Weather

Super! So now you try to describe the weather. That sounded like you were describing a typical Irish day. So you can see now, jaka jest dzisiaj pogoda. Dzisiaj jest bardzo ładna pogoda. Ładna. Ładna. Słońce jest świetne, no? So? You said, sun is great. Tak, słońce jest świetne, but sun shines is świeci słońce. Świeci słońca. Okay, i? Pytak leci. Birds are flying. Jest ciepło. Jest ciepło. Super.
