Transcript

One step at a time. Welcome to this little podcast. Here we are taking really small steps in learning German. That means every episode has just one topic. For example, in the first episode, you learn to say Hello in German, and that's all. If you want, you can download a free textbook. The link is in the description below. But you don't need this textbook to follow this podcast. This podcast works as it is.

My hint to using this podcast would be, listen to one episode at a time, and when you hear let's repeat, then repeat the German phrases loudly. Don't just hear the German words, speak them out loud. And not just while you're hearing this podcast, all through the day, when nobody is around, then please repeat the German words you've learned

For example, when going to the bathroom, when having a commercial break in the TV, and so on. Because if you just hear foreign words, you'll forget them quite fast. But if you talk them out loud many times through the day, you're more likely to remember them. And when you've remembered all the words from one episode, then go over to the next. By the way, who am I? My name's Sven and I'm an associate professor for German language teaching at the Aoya Magakuin University in Tokyo.

So, I hope you find this podcast useful and we'll meet again in the next episode.
