Lisa: Ja, gelukkig wel! Ik ben eindelijk naar de huisarts geweest. We hadden het daar de vorige keer over, toch?
Lisa: Yes, thankfully! I finally went to the GP. We talked about that last time, right?
Maarten: Ja, precies. Dus, deel twee van het dokter-avontuur.
Maarten: Yes, exactly. So, part two of the doctor adventure.
Lisa: Precies! Nou, ik belde dus op maandag voor een afspraak. Ik kon gelukkig op woensdag al komen.
Lisa: Exactly! Well, I called on Monday for an appointment. Luckily, I could already come on Wednesday.

Lisa: Oh wacht... ja! Eerst zei ze: 'Neem maar een paracetamol en kijk het even aan'. Ik dacht: nee hè!

Maarten: Haha, klassiek. Dat is echt typisch Nederlands. Ze sturen je niet zomaar door naar een specialist.

Lisa: Nee, echt niet. Ze kijken het altijd eerst even aan. Maar ik was al een week ziek, dus ik kreeg gelukkig toch een recept.
Lisa: No, really not. They always wait and see first. But I had already been sick for a week, so luckily I still got a prescription.
Maarten: Ah, kijk. En daarmee moest je naar de apotheek?
Maarten: Ah, I see. And with that, you had to go to the pharmacy?
Lisa: Ja. Die zit naast de supermarkt, dus dat was makkelijk. Ik gaf het recept en kon vijf minuten later mijn medicijnen ophalen.

Maarten: Handig. En de betaling gaat dan via de verzekering, toch?

Maarten: Dat is waar. Eigenlijk is het systeem best goed geregeld. De huisarts is het eerste punt voor iedereen.

Lisa: Zeker. Alleen dat paracetamol-advies... soms is het een beetje frustrerend als je echt veel pijn hebt.
Lisa: Definitely. Only that paracetamol advice... sometimes it's a bit frustrating when you're really in a lot of pain.
Maarten: Dat snap ik. Maar het voorkomt ook dat mensen voor elk klein ding zomaar medicijnen krijgen. Dat is ook niet goed.
Maarten: I understand that. But it also prevents people from getting medication for every little thing. That's not good either.
Lisa: Ja, dat is waar. Jij weet dat natuurlijk, met al die zieke kinderen in de klas.

Maarten: Nou ja, ik ben geen dokter. Maar ik stuur de ouders ook vaak met dat advies naar huis.

Lisa: Ik vind het wel grappige woorden soms. De wachtkamer, de klacht...
I do find them funny words sometimes. The waiting room, the complaint...
Maarten: Ja, 'een klacht' klinkt heel serieus, hè? Alsof je bij een winkel gaat klagen over een product.
Yes, 'a complaint' sounds very serious, doesn't it? As if you're going to complain about a product at a store.
Lisa: Precies! En een 'recept'. Dat is toch ook iets voor eten? Een recept voor pannenkoeken?

Maarten: Haha, ja, dat is hetzelfde woord. Maar bij de apotheek betekent het iets anders. Een briefje van de dokter voor medicijnen.

Lisa: Nou, we hebben het dus gehad over de afspraak bij de dokter, de wachtkamer, en het gesprek over je klacht.
