La seule question qui compte

Quand j’étais enfant, je me demandais : "Pourquoi je suis moi ?"
Un jour j’ai compris que la bonne question à me poser c’était : "Qui suis-je ?"
Prendre "moi" pour acquis, c’était faire comme les jeunes poissons dans la métaphore de David Foster Wallace, qui se demandent "C’est quoi l’eau ?"

When I was a child, I asked myself: "Why am I me?"
One day I understood that the right question to ask myself was: "Who am I?"
To take "me" for granted was like the young fish in David Foster Wallace's metaphor, who ask themselves "What’s water?"
