In ancient times armies often chose champions to represent them. This allowed only one "hero" to act on behalf of an entire nation and effectively mitigated the risk of every person entering battle. Unfortunately, Christianity has often elected its own "heros" to act in place of everyone else. The work of Yeshua gives every man the right and responsibility to join the action.
