Are You With Him | Given by Pastor Luke Shope
Episode description
As the Christmas season approaches, it's a time to reflect on the monumental event of Jesus Christ's birth, Immanuel, meaning 'God with us.' This event is so significant that our calendar is based on it, marking God's entry into human history and offering eternal life through Jesus. The Great Commission in Matthew 28:16-20 underscores our mission to spread the Gospel and Jesus' promise to be with us always. Isaiah's prophecy in Isaiah 7:14, given during King Ahaz's dire situation, and its fulfillment in Matthew 1:18-25, emphasize the importance of belief and God's presence in our lives. Our primary calling, as revealed in Mark 3:13-14 and Matthew 28:16-17, is to cultivate a personal relationship with Jesus. This relationship is the foundation of our faith and the source of our strength, transforming our lives and empowering us to fulfill our mission. Without it, our Christian activities can become empty and burdensome. This Christmas, let us embrace the presence of Immanuel and prioritize our relationship with Him, finding true joy and peace in knowing that God is with us.
