On The Road Again

I am tired. I'm in Chicago, but I'm glad to see your beautiful face. Oh, thank you, thank you. I'm glad to see YouTube. This is different for us. You know, we're just doing audio today well in flame Mats, and we want you guys to really uh stay with us. We know we we we both of both of us are traveling so it's gonna be a little difficult because the road is picking up because the world has opened back up. So this may be the new norm for

laugh and learn. We will be in hotel rooms or on the road somewhere, but right which is what we want to do. We want you to download the audio because that is what I heart wants. They want the audio component more than the video. Now. We will still still do the video when we are in town at the same time, but today you work with what we have because this is what we give you. How well, how the week because you had a week here you have Yeah, it's like, I don't know, life is just

um it's interesting. Like you know, when you're young, you ever think of like what you have like expectations. I guess you could kind of say for life, and then it's like once you become an adult, life was like whoop, you thought you know. So it's been a rough week. Um. You know, one of my friends that I grew up with and went to uh dot, I with who I danced with, I should say, um, tragically filled in a car accident. So, um, it's just been a lot going on.

Work has been, you know, kicking my butt. It's just been like a whirlwind, you know what I mean. I don't know, it's just like pandemic. It just feels like people have just been dying for so long and we're just constantly I don't know, like in this place. I don't even know how to describe it. So it's um. It was a bit of a rough week for me, but you were built for a tough Thank you today, good DNA. Oh yeah, thanks, But but I mean, on a brighter note, I know you had a great week,

so let's keep this, you know, happier. So how is the South by Southwest? Friends? Yeah, get inside. I was in Austin, Texas, but my heart for the South, my south Western conference, which happened to be one of the you know what, I didn't know what to expect, honestly, but from what you had told me, because you know, I'll be out of the loop, I don't know, but the expectation was I didn't know what to expect, but god, it was incredible and my heart wrote out through a

card before me. I think I heart was a little apprehensive. Let me just say it. Because I worked for y'all. I can't say it was a little apprehensive by me speaking because they didn't know where I was gonna go. But good God that I knocked their socks off. They were so impressed that I'm going to Australia and New York speaking on behalf of my heart and the consumers

and the marketing people. And I love that they let me, allowed me to just say how I felt as being one of the powerful influential voices of our time, or a diverse voices what they called and something like my voice ain't the verse just I don't like everybody else. But but found me just to be a free bird. And my vernacular it's not six thousand words, but when I say it, and I say it in Layman's terms, you get it. So they asked us a question, Laur

that made me think about you. They asked me, how would I reach out to my demographic to sell products? I'm like, what, what? What is my demographic? You know they would like I think I think they would think in LGBT community, trans people, I'm like, dude, we you sold the older in toilet paper mouth washing. So I'm I'm human, I'm American. Plus I got one up. I can do a shaving commercial and a makeup commercial at

the same time. We have the sponsors, Lauren. But no, I think that's important though, because you know, I think people have this like preconceived notion that because you are trans, Like, yes, you're a part of the l g B t Q plus community, but that's not your only community. Like even if you look at like your Instagram analytics, most of your following is women, you know what I mean. I mean, we don't know their sexual orientation maybe, but it's just

women in general. They went on Instagram and you know, registered their profile as being a woman. So I think that's like a pre you know, a misconception I guess we could say about you. So I'm happy that you were able to, you know, show your versatility and who you are as an individual, and it's like you're not

just your sexual identity. There's more to you. So I'm happy to hear that, Yeah, that was great, and you know what it was so because I was like a fish out of water, but because I'm in a room full of millionaires. I was in a room full of millionaires longers. I was not the centerpiece, but I was the conversation that everybody wanted to have with me. They wanted to not about LGBT. They wanted to talk to me about business and the podcast and marketing and how

can we get more people. It was. It was so dope that I was like, Wow, I almost had an out of body experience, like, bitch, do you belong here? But clearly you did, because you held the conversations. You know, shoot, you grab the attention, so clue you did belong. I wish I could have been there with you, but you know, you crazy, You know you were there with me. You know you was looking over my shoulders and say that I was the back of your head telling you all

the things I tell you. And Connor who who's the president of My Heart, and Will Pearson were just enamored. And to all the people that I met there, Gail who put the program together, the other young lady Brittany who has another podcast called There Are No Girls on the End There Oh, she has such a great tick of the speaking voice. Um to feel who works for marketing, to who took the pictures. Everybody you see. I remember the names because but how they made me remember the names,

because everybody was overtly friendly towards me. They were accommodating and respectful and in a way that I'm not necessarily used to because I'm used to you being respect for, but because you have to because I'm LGBT, not because I am influencer and I'm an employee, you know, And that that was remarkable for me. It was great. Well, I'm just glad that you had an amazing experience and that was a good thing to kick off the rest of the crazy week that you have. So what's what's

coming up towards the end of the week? Week at the Breakfast Club on Thursday Charlemagne the God. Then on Thursday night, Friday night and Saturday night we got Carolines on Broadway. Monday we have Wendy Williams. Girl, Can life get any sweeter? I'm happy for you for sure, to say the least, So uh fix that, I'm sorry. I'm happy for us, right, I'm happy for us. I'm sorry, too bad, too bad week. We're not in the same space. Ha ha, No, I'm kidding. Um no, so uh yeah,

that's good. I'm really glad to hear that it all went well. And um, I'm expecting to see some type of footage of something at some point. Since I can't be there, I'm staying away from I g live just so I don't get reported, so I can you don't go to jail. I don't go to a jail again. And I don't share this with my flame man is because they want to know. So get your tickets. ain't nobody record me? O? Yes? So in other news this week, what's going on in what do you want to get into? First? Because I'm in Chicago, which is my hometown, We'll start with Jesse who got I don't want to say railroad it, but the same thing that happened to Jesse in two thousand and twenty two happened to me in my first defense in Illinois. They sent me to prison. The difference and I had a great

Lloyd there. The difference was he got I got three and a half years, but I only did forty eight days. And to get arrested though, that's the question, what was the crime? Don't you asked my personally? You brought it up the bank. I was a bank robb not she rapped a bank and you only did three years. You did have a good lord, brand new booze and ninety one. There was no place for me that That was the

difference that saved me from doing all that time. But I did not expect him to I must say, with all the hpla haaba hand this and all that was going on because of his celebrity and all the lawyer's everything, I really did not expect him to give him actually time. I thought that they were going to convict him and he was gonna have to pay all those fans. But I was yeah, they actually gave him jail time. So

that's volumes to this country. And again, like we always say, there is one course system for them and there is one for us. Because with all his money, fame and celebrity, it did not stop him and they didn't. And you thought, what was behoo be loring? Because had he been if y'all saying I'm playing a race card, was so be it? God damn it. Had he been a Caucasian persuasion, they would have given him thirty days to have his affairs and get everything in order to say a batchel of

family would have you. They took him straight to the back right there in the court room. I found that quite offensive. Well, not even that if he was worried, he wouldn't be doing jail time. Well come on, let's be honest. So, and I don't know like what the circumstances are of how it got to people thinking that he was suicidal. And you know, he made that big announcement in court saying that he's not suicidal, and they

put him like in the psych ward. That was a reason to that, because so many of us have been pars rated and then we end up dying. Yeah, but it was just that it happens to me. I didn't do it to myself, right that he was saying like, I'm not suicidal. So, but I don't know how he ended up in the psych ward though. Ye, well, well I think he was. First of all, he looked a little extreme the way he did. Let me just say that in the cork carrion on Holland hooping Holland screaming car.

You know, but sometimes they put you in the medical war in the psych board to protect you. They didn't put him in there because he was great. He is a celebrity, He is a star. He is a notable face. So they put him in there to protect him from putting him not only in protective custody, but for gym pop because it's really hard to get to you in

the psych ward and protect custody. So if I'm a protective custody and you're a straight guy and you want me, you just say, I'm afraid I need to walk myself to protective custody just so you can get to me. See it's it's that accessible. Because I was there, I experience that. But now in the psych ward you can't just go. Anybody can't just walk that up to the pye, but you have to be deemed cuckoo, patty, a little you know, a little fifty. So it's it's actually safer

for him. But I don't know the situation, but I have been in the county jail and that was in and it was a filthy place. I can only imagine that it's worse. Oh wow, because yeah, is he in the county jail? Did he actually did he go someplace else? He's only doing the county jail. It would have probably been easier had he went to prison. But he's in the county. Is he in the same jail as R. Kelly. Yeah, he's probably not in the same step. Oh my god. Okay,

so they're both in Cook County. Wow, that's that's crazy. I mean, I just the way it played out Loreen, from beginning to end to now, just I'm in shocked that he got some jail time. And I don't want to be on either side of this because I never believed the story that Jesse see and I said that public. I just never believed that story. It just sounded it was too many holes in it for me from day one, starting with the substance that they threw and you didn't

know what it was. Baby, My kids were two years old. They knew what the hell bleat smell like. So it just was so crazy. But wow, it just has went on and on and on. Yeah, because the thing that it's like, even if because it feels like this is all stemming from the fact that he wasted, you know, police resources, So even if that was the case, just let him pay it and then move on. But to like stick him in jail over this, and you got white people that have like raped women and they're still

not in jail, They've been acquitted. Like it's come on, really, you got white boys that white other white kill other wife boys and won't yeah for real, So well, just look at what happened with the officer who killed Brianna Taylor and McKay Bryant. They were both acquitted. Yeah, it is, it is. It's a troubling time. And but you know what it is the wake up call for black people in this country that are celebrity rich, famous. Let you know that we don't care about your money, or your

stature or your celebrity. We will come after you hard and brutally. Because that was brutal to me to put him in jail. That but the best the blessing of the county jail. Though, let me just say on the others, because you know, there's always another. He gets two for one, So for every two days he get one. I don't expect him to do six weeks. Oh oh, not to do six weeks, okay, I don't expect him to do

six weeks because he gets two for one. Okay, well, yeah, A prayer for Jesse, Prayers for Jesse, prayers for his family because and so many people was affected by this, and I love that so many celebrities wrote letters for him, so many we profile people are speaking up for him. Although it did make a difference that judge had a mission, that judge was not trying to hear any of it and he I thought the judge was cold. I thought

he was honest about a lot of things. Let me just say he wasn't all the way wrong, but I thought he was extreme. Yeah. Well, we're gonna send up a prayer for Jesse and hopefully he gets out because I saw something today that said there's his attorneys have a million of one reasons why he should be released. So hopefully something works and he gets out sooner than later. I don't even want to go down every over. I ain't. Yeah, we not, because we're gonna jump right into something else

where we going? Lord, I was first? Is your turn? Well? Speaking of other Chicago natives, Um, a certain Kanye West got into it one of your friends this past week, d L. Hugley. So how do you feel about that? Wait, wait a minute, don't even try it. Don't even try Kanye West is I feel like the man is just heartbroken, and I've been exactly how he feels. I just hate that it's playing out so publicly in front of his children, because they're seeing all of this, you know, and kids.

People always say kids don't remember. Kids remember way more than we give them credit for him way more seeing here, especially with the Internet and way things are now, They're seeing here way more than they should. I feel for those kids. I hope that Kanye fans some solace. But that is a great adage to go into into money. Don't make you happy, because on paper, this man is a billionaire and he is just not happy. It's um,

it's giving fatal attraction a little bit. I'm not even gonna lie with some of the things that he's put out about his soon to be ex wife, but um, you know, and I appreciate deal speaking out. It's like, we don't we're not we don't know Kanye, we're not friends with Kanye. We don't know the circumstances of the situation.

But it's definitely giving fatal attraction. It really is. But I just want to ask a question, hypothetically, Lauren Hogan, So with all is that Kanye is doing, because you know, he was in the White House a year or two ago when the other administration jump sitting on his lap and pretty much hugging him and kissing him. That man has not spoken because Kanye spoke up but him wore the red hat and everything. But I have not heard that man speak on behalf of Mr Kanye West at all.

Child Trump's been speaking, but it ain't about that, and nobody's paying attention really to what he's saying. But you, I mean, you have a point. You have a point, that's for sure. I hope he stays on social media. Well, good luck with that. That is what's keeping that's what's

keeping him going. Maybe maybe while he telling his door, giving his daughter advice to say hi, as I'll TikTok, dude, look in the mirror and tell that to your damn saif one of them personalities because somebody and listen to you, and it's about fifteen them up in there. Oh baby, he can showed us all of them too. They say he's a you know, but you know, Lauren, that is that is the the old the old termam that they say. But there's the pigs hare. The line between genius and

lunacy is as fine as a pig's hair. Somebody snatched their pigs hair and he didn't cross the fence to the other side. Well yeah, and I will say, like, bipolar disorder is real. You know, I have you know, family members who are bipolar who I actually don't speak to because they refused to take their meds. But it is a real, you know, disease. Mental health is real, and I don't know what it's like to you know,

whatever that feels like. So I hope he can, you know, find some type of peace because that is a serious you know, mental illness to be combating seven and there's different you know, there's different um points on the spectrum, you know, of your type of of the bipolar disorders. What I'm trying to say, But um, I just hope he finds some type of peace because um he's really wildent and I really do like read what he's trying

to say to like understand. Sometimes I just don't compre him with some of his posts are about Um, I will say, the songs that he's been writing for Donda pretty good. I enjoyed them, visuals also great. Didn't like that you know, he basically killed Pete Davidson and his easy video. But yeah, I just, um, I hope he gets it together and find some happiness and some interpiece. So yeah, about Pete Davidson. I don't even know if

he sees what it really really is. But as the man in me, because you know, I'm he she week, but the man in me that this is a pond. This who this is a pawn? You, darling, I think it's a pond. I think that you are being played. But enjoy the rat? Why do you say that. I don't think that Kim Kardashian is gonna ever be in

love with him. I think that that it's just employed just to not even on on a I'm trying to pay you back, just that maybe she's trying to find solace in the arms of somebody else to move on. But do I think that's gonna be long term. Absolutely not. I think she's gonna enjoy the rat for the time that she's ratting, and yeah, that's it. But I mean I think that's fair though. I mean, you just got out of like a seven year marriage. I mean, maybe it's not anything serious. She might just want to have

fun right now. You know, she's got four kids, she's got responsibility. And Roman has it that they say Pete got the meat. He's like armies, we have the meat. Well, you have to look at the lineup of females that he's dated and something must be there based on a line. So I'm just saying, you say, you know that might be part of the issue that because men are very men's egos are very shallow, he might be intimidated that he thinks that Pete might be packing a little bit

more than he is. And if I'm telling you it is so many I have been in Kanye WIT's position about being broken from a love a partner. But you know my baby, so I I and then as much as I joke about and well, I know that paint, I know there is a darkness there that when you go to sleep, when you wake up, that misery is still sitting there waiting on you when you can't go to sleep. The sad part is that it is playing out publicly. You know, both a huge celebrities and y'all

got a gang of children. So and everybody is going to joke about it because when he went out the d L and say I got enough money to have you heard dal say, man, you're a nut, And I'm glad Pete is busting them up. In your wife, girl, let me tell you something old how to read like the last City. So I love it. Stump me. You know who else on how to read like that? That damn Fathy said, Oh yeah, that man is rude. That

manages rude. I'm telling you, and you know you you you, if you put it out there, you get the expected to come back. It was cold, it was funny. It was funny. I'm not even gonna lie. He was not even nervous. He he had like hits one after another. So that's why I said, that's your friends, So you know, don't come at the media. Look Kanye again. Lauren to Kanye. Yeah, seriously, we talked about can we go to Ukraine? Prayers for Ukraine? Good God, Okay, so that was a major shift, but yes, Ukraine.

I know we've talked about it for like the past two weeks, but like at this point I feel like we can like never not touch on it for an episode because everything is like developing each week. Um made your kudos to UM, and I apologized. I don't know her name, but for that TV producer stepping up and in the middle of a segment new station of Channel one News that reports like for the Kremlin and holding up a sign basically saying no war kudos to her

for having the biggest balls out of everybody in Russia. Okay, women always do, and what years in prison? Fifteen years in prison? She was in court today, but like she's not in jail, which I was surprised to see considering how crazy Putin is. She's not in jail. They you know she was. They showed video footage of her leaving court. So she's facing up to fifteen years though for what she did. But maybe because it's so public, Putin is like she can't just go away so quickly. I don't know.

I'm just shocked that she's not already behind bars. So I'm happy she still has her freedom or some sense of it right now. But who knows what they're gonna end up doing her. You know, people in Russia just mysteriously did so I'm going to say, I know, I hope I don't rufle some of my people felas, but I'm gonna say it always, and I'm gonna always say it because I will admire a woman into the day. Guy put the dirt on my face and the daisy on my head. Women will stand when men won't. No

man did this. Women stand and fight and it's not black white. This is a Russian woman. Baby. She still and she knew the consequences of what could happen to her going against Putin. This is what I'm talking about. This is the strength of women that you just don't want to tolerate it anymore. Me and are too afraid to lose their positions, their stature, their power, whatever the coward it is. I don't like coward me and I've said that many times. I don't care what color you are.

Women are showing strength like that's unbelievable. That's why I was like when they wanted to trans women to staying fight, staying fight with these women. These women are grounded, strong, they're afraid, but they're not going to be pushed to the side. They are standing at it. We need to stand and support them. Hats off to that sister, because a man didn't do it. Yeah, and she's actually Russian

and Ukraine. I think she said like her her mother's Ukrainian and her father's Russian, or it may have been the reverse, but she her whole statement, she was like, you know, when all the craziness happened, we didn't I didn't take a stand. I didn't stand up to Putin and it just didn't sit well with me. So now to see that he's literally starting a war out of greed, she said, it's I gotta say something. So word's just

never good. Bargeous economic destruction, Uh, senseless casualties. And when you see all the video of the bombings and oh my god, well you saw the pregnant woman that was being carried out of the hospital that they bombed. She ended up dying. Yeah, her and the baby died. So it's just senseless. Oh and on top of that, we just have to say, you know, a condolences to the U. S journalists, Um Brent Renard who passed away too, but

he was murdered. Oh he was covering, you know, he was a U. S journalist in Ukraine covering what was happening and Russian soldier shot him and killed him. So if I was a journalist, I'm a report just like I'm doing now via zoom. But it's just crazy, Like I think we sometimes forget that part, like journalists actually have a dangerous component to their job, you know what

I mean. You never it's always like, oh, yeah, they're in Ukraine reporting, but you don't realize how much they're really in harm's way, you know, just to do their job. Bad man does not release these nukes because then the US is going to have to get involved with NATO and all that, and it's just going to be bad all the way around. So we're hoping and praying that it doesn't get any worse. But nobody knows what the unpredictable Putin is going to do, because that thing is well.

The samements that I've heard today on the news have been very strong. People have said, you know, Ukraine will always be, you know, its own country. There's there's way more people in you crane, and there's only one Vladimir Putin, so they're not giving in by any means necessary. And their president Zelinski, Um, I gotta give him some kudos to you know, he put on the armor and said I'm about to go fight for my people. So yeah, who he used to be a comedian. Girl, You think

I could do it? You think? Oh my god. I have to tell you I saw a video. One of my work colleagues, very random sent me a video. There's a video of Zelinski doing the single Ladies Dance in heels with his stomach out and like a little two piece. I'm send it to you. I'm so serious. I watched it. I don't know if it's photoshopped. I think it's real because it's like him and five other men and they're

dancing to Beyonce single Ladies. I kid you, not hilarious. Well, at least he knows how to have a good damn tam thank you right. He doesn't have a stick up his butt, but so it was. It was definitely funny to watch. That's all these American but only the only American president head of little swell was President Obama because they played Marvin got him a piece, baby. I'm sorry. The swaggiest moment Barack Obama ever had was when he wore that tan suit on Easter. That will always be

the swaggiest moment. I just gotta say, that tan suit on Easter, they hit the roof, Oh my god, it's not top two, and not to like, it's not presidential and then y'all right, y'all go to him shoot so but yeah, prayers to everybody in um Ukraine. I hope that this does come to and end at some point because it's just wild. Because I even saw the report that Joe Biden is like, we're not going to go

to war with Russia. He's already said that publicly, so I don't know what the intention behind it was, but he said that like two weeks ago. We'll see what comes to this. I've been taking practice and riding my bike more because it's looking like a gas prices. I don't pay me that much. Good God saying gas prices are ridiculous. Somewhere in l a gas is nine dollars, and I don't want to find out where. So I'm gonna keep minding my business, especially when you dress such

a high end luxury vehicle like you drive. I know you're not talking. You got an electric car now, and it's still high end luxury. It's still a jeep. We're talking about me looking at all these but I didn't even drive. I parked it because I was asked to park it. That's all I did. I was like, I

don't want to I'll park it. That's it. So I'm bummed that you're not going to be with me in New York, because you know, I need you in my ear looking on my should, like get it right, I'm gonna shoot you in the heat because the phone called for has a finger to my head like this, like all the time, that's what the phone calls. Where I could do that from Florida. I'm gonna just call you. I'm right down. You can feel my energy coming up north. I'm gonna be right in Florida. I'm gonna send it

right up to to New York. You're gonna kill it. And I'm gonna just call you beforehand and give you the same energy. I'm very excited about it. I'm really ready to represent I hard. I'm doing a breakfast. I'm gonna talk about the south By Southwest only there because that experience alone, and you know alone. I called you and told you, because you know, yeah, I don't do great. I was like, it was all right, but because I'm very honest about who I am and what I do.

But when it's fantastic, oh, I called said, Oh honey, they had no idea what was coming train with no breaks for breath. Oh my god, it was wonderful. It was good. I'm proud of you all in flame mats. I'm telling you we're gonna have such an amazing weekend this weekend for the ones that do show up. Great for the ones that going downloaded and watch your livestream. Great, I got some dresses for your ass, and some jokes

for your mama and some that's for your dad. So anyway, I know this episode was a little different because you know, we didn't we weren't able to bring in the flame mats. But like Flames said, we gotta make things work at this point because she's busy, I'm busy, and we you know, we still got to get a job done at the end of the day. So girl has to relaxed all the rules, all the pandemic rules, so we are able to get back and me amongst each other. That does

not mean that the pandemic has went away. Still take your precautions, still play safe, because I will. But I'm looking forward to being I'm interacting with so many people and me alone will probably be on the road this summer way more than we want to be. But we gotta work. Yeah.
