Good morning, Sunshine. It is Friday, June 14th, and we have exactly what you need to know for this weekend to join the sports conversation because, let's be honest, it is one of the easiest ways to start a conversation and the safest because no one wants to talk about politics, right? So let's dive into a few quick points to start our podcast. Tonight, the Boston Celtics hope to sweep the Dallas Mavericks in Game 4 of the NBA Finals in Boston.

The city is hoping that'll happen because the Boston Red Sox actually moved their game against the Yankees to accommodate fans watching the Celtics game. So it'll be a big night in Boston in theory, unless Dallas can pull off a miracle. In a similar story of domination in this Stanley Cup finals in hockey, the Edmonton Oilers are down 3 -0 to the Florida Panthers. The Panthers could sweep the Edmonton Oilers in game four on Saturday night. Moving on to the boxing ring.

First, we moved the Mike Tyson, Jake Paul fight from July into the fall. And now another big fight of the summer has been moved. The expected return to the octagon for Conor McGregor is hindered by injuries on his side. And the McGregor versus Michael Chandler fight that was supposed to be this summer will be rebooked for later this year. Moving on, the San Antonio Brahmus face the Birmingham Stallions in the 2024 UFL Championship game on Sunday.

Now you might remember the UFL is the merger between the XFL, which was owned by The Rock and the USFL. Now this championship, well, Birmingham will be seeking its third straight championship. And the numbers this year for the UFL have actually been pretty good for TV viewership. They've averaged about 816 ,000 viewers with more than a 30 % increase in viewership from last season.

And last but certainly not least, let's talk about the Olympic swim trials happening this weekend in Lucas Oil Stadium. That's right, it's a football stadium. They've put swimming pools in the middle of, and they're expected about 1 ,000 Olympic hopefuls to participate in competition between the 15th through the 23rd. Okay, moving on to two of our. big events this weekend. The U .S. Open in golf.

So after day one, a bogey free 64 has four time major champion Rory McIlroy tied for first in North Carolina. Now everyone is cheering for Rory or maybe not everyone, but most people because he hasn't won a major in 10 years. So he is due and he called off his divorce this week. It was announced. And so he's going for his first major in 10 years. but don't count out number one world ranked Scotty Scheffler who has been on fire.

Now let's move last but certainly not least, this huge event that happens only every four years, the Euro Cup is happening right now. So the Euro Cup is basically the national teams of Europe and they play each other. Now it's been 20 years since Cristiano Ronaldo has made his Euro Cup debut and he's going in the tournament holding records for most appearances, the Euros with 25 and the most goals with.

Now it's a huge, huge live audience with more than 365 million people watching and attending the tournament. And the month -long tournament could give a huge boost to Germany's economy who is hosting the tournament, selling 2 .7 million tickets and earning 4 billion in tourism sales. Now, who to watch for? Well, apart from the hosts, Germany, the favorites include England, France, Portugal, Spain, and defending champions, Italy.

The pressure is heavy on England who has never won the Euros and hasn't won a major tournament since the 1996 World Cup. Ukraine, meanwhile, will be a fan favorite. That's what you need to know for this week in ahead. Have a great one and we'll see you here on Monday for a Monday Minute.
