Now the ESPYs are ESPN's way of recognizing the best in sports and there was not a dry eye in the house last night because ESPN knows how to pull together a tear -jerker of a video. Yes, like we said, it's a show about excellence in sports, but the special award recipients like Prince Harry for his work with the Invictus Games and Dawn Staley, who's the head coach for the women's South Carolina team, basketball team. Well, her work for fighting, fighting for cancer.
Well, her work fighting cancer. Those videos are so good. I just sat on my couch, sort of just tissue dabbing my eyes there. The show was hosted by Serena Williams, who did a phenomenal job, looked fantastic in her 16 outfit changes. It was a lot of fun for fashion and sports to all come together in one Now moving on, still speaking a little bit about some fashion, let's talk about the Olympics. 47 ,000. Now that's not the number of condoms shipped to the Athletes Village for the Olympics.
That's actually 300 ,000. But it's the number of Swarovski crystals embroidered across eight different styles of leotards for the U .S. Gymnastics team, which the athletes are welcome to choose from. This is the first time the Olympic Gymnastics uniforms have been shown ahead of the games. Now keep an eye out for the Luminous Legacy uniform. which is adorned with over 10 ,000 crystals. Good Lord, that's going to be fantastic.
and at the Tokyo Games, if more is more, at the Tokyo Games in 2021, American gymnast, who took home silver, wore leotards adorned with 6 ,400 crystals. So let's hope more bling brings home the medals. Happening this weekend as well, the American Century Championship. It's an athletes and celebrities combining together to play golf in Lake Tahoe. Not a bad combo, right? First place person wins $150 ,000.
Now Golden State Warrior Steph Curry is the defending champion, but he won't be playing because he's playing on the U .S. basketball team because he's playing on the U .S. Olympic basketball team. But don't worry, we still have returning players like Charles Barkley, Travis Kelsey, Miles Teller, Aaron Rodgers, Josh Allen. And then there's first timers like Jason Kelsey, Alex Rodriguez. Rob McElney and Austin Reeves.
Also happening this weekend, there's a lot of finals this weekend by the way, the Wimbledon finals. Today are the semifinals on the men's side. Lorenzo Musetti is taking on Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz is taking on Danielle Medvedev. And remember Novak is obviously the one with the most wins out of this group and looking for his 25th major but. He's really recovering from a previous knee injury that he got, but he's recovering from a previous knee injury from the French Open.

Soon it will be time for footballs on Sunday, but not quite for the NFL, but they do start training camp next week. This Sunday goes to another kind of football, soccer. We start the day off with the Euro Cup finals between England and Spain. England's men's team has never won the Euros. Their last major win as a team was the 1966 World Their women's team won the Euro victory in 2022. Spain are three time European champions. Then later in the day, we have the finals for Copa America.
That's the tournament that happens between all the teams in the Americas, basically, right? North, South, Central America. We have Colombia taking on defending champion Argentina in Miami. Now it's a home game for Messi who plays for David Beckham's Miami FC team in Miami. Now, Columbia's on a 28 game unbeaten streak and Argentina was the last country to beat them in an Olympic qualifying match on February 1st in 2022.
Now, this may be a great game, but high ticket prices could lead to empty seats. I want to sign off with one little stars are just like us. Little story about wedding etiquette. Former NFL quarterback Cam Newton made it known that he was not happy about not being invited.
