Episode description

Dustyn Montgomery walked across Sierra Leon in hopes of preventing gender-based violence through awareness, communication, and education. 1 in every 5 cases of sexual abuse or sexual assaults goes unreported. At times, even reported cases are swept under the rug. Women and children alike are the victims of gender-based violence. Dustyn walked over 300 hundred miles in 20 days with his professor, Hindolo, and the Sierra Leon Foundation for New Democracy to spread awareness and build relationships with community leaders throughout Sierra Leon. These relationships and the knowledge they gain on their journey have enabled them to develop a training program and community workshops.
