Episode description

Research shows surgery should not be the first or even the best option for many disc herniation patients. Dr. Rountree reviews a study showing that the USA performs surgeries five times more often than the rest of the world. The Harvard surgeons who wrote the study say that conservative options such as core strengthening, offloading bracing, decompression, and laser therapy can help disc herniation patients avoid surgery.
