It's so funny, you said, are you ready? And then my my brain went to sand and I didn't know that ding Dong Last Culture ess Calling was coming. There was a latent period of silence, There was a latent period of talent for one. Have to just come out right now an apologist for it, because it would appear like I'm not excited to be here or I'm not present. This is the most excited I have been for an episode of Last Culture and I shared all episodes because
it's the beginning of something. It's the beginning of something. Last culture has an announcement. We have a new favorite television show. Have a new favorite television television show. At the time this comes out, it will be out, I believe, either right before the premier date or right after, and we'll figure that out. But and I'm excited to see you because I have not seen you in a fortnight, a fortnite. And the last time I saw you was in New Year's and you had a night I did.
You had such a night. It was the beginning of twenty nineteen. And you know, after after what I call a difficult I wanted to start twenty nineteen off in the right kind of way. Okay, I don't see I don't fucking buy that thing anymore, though, What don't you buy that superstition of the way that you spend your New Year's is the way that the rest of your year pans out. You want to know why New Year's ne Year's seventeen. So last New Year's Eve was the
saddest I'd ever been ever. You remember this? And then I had I had a good year. That's insane that you said that. And I don't think you had. If you look at twelve, all the twelve months together I think you had half a good year and half a bad. Sure, but then like I mean, if you just take the average, if you take the mean, and then then that is like a pretty decent year. I'm just saying I wasn't
willing to play any chances with this. I needed New Year's Eve to be good because I am a superstitious bitch. And you know who made me that way, Katrina Roger. Katrina Roger. She has me not stepping on cracks, she has me not walking under ladders. She has me if I see a black cat, we have like a negotiation, and I'm like, you stay there. I'm very superstitious. So this thing of like the way you start New Year's is the way your year will go. I'm willing to
follow it through. And I had a fucking fantastic We had so much, so much fun, and then you left the next day to go be the bell of the ball, to go right. Can I ask you a question about the Golden Globes just before we get into the episode. I want to know what did it feel like when they said the best film of the year was Bohemian Rhapsody. What did it feel like in that room literally when
they dared do this. I wasn't in the room, but I was so all the writers were sort of tucked away in one of the cabana rooms that were that were just next to the ballroom, and all of us were just I was literally a shanty town. That was so Rammy had just won his Golden Globe. I just turned to someone. I turned to Josh Patton, and I who's brilliant And he was the one who wrote the this is Us masturbation check. That was him, that was really I turned to him and I was like, God,
that movie just sucks. And I was like l O l A even being nominated, like we're really gonna like we were really going to reward a Brian Singer movie this year. Fucking insane, terrible movie was written by a computer. I'm sorry if anyone listening had any connection to it or worked on it or and we have seen it. We have seen it truly, truly, truly, truly bad. And then it won't And you can even tell when they accepted it that like they didn't expect it. They didn't
know what to say. So it was just the feeling in the room was nuts. Were all like what I believe what I was watching, it was crazy, and so many of the winds were so good, and I thought the show was great. You guys did a great job putting it together. I give class and so many of the winds. In the first half, it was like, that's great, that's great, and then I started to go cuck Mama, cuckoo. Anyway, but I'm very proud of you, thank you, And this is my first time seeing you since all that, so
I'm excited to be here. So for me to have that late moment of silence in the beginning when there's so much to discuss, so much, but I am so excited for our guys. Oh, because this is the lead actress of our new favorite show, and we actually not only is this person going to be on, we're also going to have Drew tarveron. We're also going to have Brendon Scott Jones, and we're also gonna have Chris Kelly
and Sarah Schneider on. We were doing a the other two events, we're putting our last cultures as a muscle. We did this with Search Party in the off season, but finally The Stars Online, so that we're doing this right before the show starts, so that you can watch. It's so good. It's so good. Now you have to wait till January the premiere of the other two. And it's so good. And our our guest today is I. So we have this fun story of how we met. But I had just been who can't we do that?
Just a crazy, crazy, crazy crazy person for this? For her, I guess I stand our guests since first time I ever saw her was on High Maintenance Laney Um opposite Max and um I Max's character. Um. But I just think she's so fucking cool. And then the coolest the sput on the tablet on the table, we can say this, and then but meanwhile she's like, she's this is a fucking Broadway, honey, come on, come on, and not everyone can stop the boards, not everyone can stomp the boards.
She can, she um. And then she is incredible in the other too. I think this is incredible. I kept texting her the entire time that I was watching the screeners. I was like, this is a starmaking turn. This is so I contacted Drew. I was like a lot of people are going to feel very seen by this. Yes, like I said to him, I was like, you know, there was some special scenes in there that I was like, oh man, that's christ and Sarah as well. But this is so excited, it's so good, So let's go ahead
and say guest and she brought snacks. Yeah, honestly, I've been sitting here listening to this, just annoyed to not interject and like introduce me. We have to we have to catch up and we have to get everything out there, which is all the gorgeous credits and all the gorgeous love. Yes, wow, thank you so much. Can we can we can we just get this out of the way up top? Go ahead, bitch, I want I know you want to say it? Are you know? Do you know what I'm gonna talk about?
This whole psycho meeting? No living to the that's so good. Just describe very briefly what it was like playing Glinda in Wicked, Like I think you're the first Glinda I've ever met, and this is a huge moment from Yeah, I don't think. I opened the second National Tourism Linda um and it was insane. I mean, that's a beheamoth
of a show. And people were especially at the time because now a considerable amount of time has passed, but like deeply attached to it and to those characters and to those women, and and it spoke to so many people, and and I was very young. I was like twenty when I did it, and we traveled the country and people just went insane. And it was crazy also to do that number that she does, the popular number, because
doing comedy is so awesome, so deeply awesome. But then to listen to people and like a barn in Alabama laugh is one of the most extraordinary things I've ever experienced. And so yeah, oh my god, Okay, sorry, I just wanted to get that out of the I just know it's popular, like the number you liked doing? Or do you because my favorite just thank goodness, oh well, thank goodness.
I used to randomly somebody else had to sing the high Sea for me because I was like, you know, because it's high Sea, and like, no, not to jump it, but like I don't think so honey was there in the back that was just like girl on the front was like, yeah, I just opened my mouth. But yeah, you know. I used to get in a lot of trouble because I would have a little bit too much fun with popular and I did all sorts of crap, and I you know, it's popular though I know. I
mean I didn't give the people what they wanted. I gave myself what I wanted. You have to do that. So when you're doing a role like that, which is like iconically done and I'm guessing this is how all replacement casts go, but they tell you kind of like this is what Kristen China withset like this is what we do? Or do you like it's a you know, yeah, there's a formula that they want you to adhere to. I think in a big way. I don't know how how it's going over there now. Um, but yeah, yes,
you you do Kristen. You do Kristen, or you don't. You don't do Kristen. You do because Kristen is I mean, come on, is like a in a league of her own. Nobody can do Kristen. Um. But I think that there's certainly like a tone that they want to set with that character. And they're very protective of how those two women are perceived and how the relationship is told as a story, right, So they get very specific about that because they know that. I think I think that audiences
expect something, right. I think that Glinda is not the better part, but the more interesting part because I think there's more shades to it. I think like that's where really like where all the acting happens, and like I think, like a more interesting song. But wouldn't you say that about like any comedic character and stories that you love.
Actually that that like not to say that Alphabat doesn't have comedic moments, but if you think about like the sidekick in any character, like I can't believe I'm thinking about this off the top of my head, but like Simon Pegg and the Mention Impossible movie, like I don't know, I kind of go to see him, and he'd be the more fun one to play than the one that's
like I'm taking the superious right right, right right. And Alphabet has her like deadpan comedy moments, but it's about the Glinda is the one who just broad and specific moment like comedy has the ability And you guys know this as human means like every there's all these things made about like comedians and comedy, and you know that everybody's a comedian needs to be like messed up in some way, which is so stupid, but it is an opportunity to like shape nuance and show what life actually
is because all we all do in our lives, like when anybody does, is tell each other jokes and try to laugh all the time. So it's like to me, I don't know, but but don't get me wrong. I just finished Sharp Objects the other day and like, I can't it was so good. I haven't seen it. Is there not a moment of levity in it? Is this kind of just dark the whole night. I couldn't get past this second episode. You know what, I'm going to go ahead and say, no levity. Yeah, that's fine. It
was all right with it. Can I tell you what else I just finished, which I'm obsessed with. Have you watched Marvelous? Mrs Yes, obsessed? Here's the thing. I loved the first season. I love the second season. Man. Sarah Schneider and I got in our like sweatpants and sat on her couch because she had screeners, and we watched it. We were like, look what they're doing. This is amazing.
They went to Paris and like, oh my god, and the costumes and even there's that scene where she's walking through the apartment and the carpet is pink and she's like watched the coat and the lipstick to the actual environment, just the way it looks, the way she looks. The visuals are amazing and Rachel is amazing. We have to get her on. I was watching it last night. I actually watched the finale of season two last night and I was watching like her just perform on like the telethon.
It was so good and every episode has such great iconic scenes, like when they went to the whole Catskills thing forget it. I was my friend Brandon juranno Witz, who was a great actor, played the like lead activities director Simon says, moment and everything that they get, yes, and they gave them. They cast amazing New York actors in that show. It's such a pleasure. My favorite montage was when the parents are falling back in love they
go to Paris. I died for that. I literally I was like, oh, I mean to the point where they like did two full songs for that montage because it was so cute and great. And Shalube this old respect and it's her name Marian with the mother. But I was really impressed with her, especially two of them this season, Like I really appreciated how much more they used them in the second season as well. I thought they were
so good. And you know who is just a legend? Yes, oh my god, I mean I'm like fully raving about the show. And then also Zachary Levi charm machine just like so good, and Rachel is out of control good on me. She is exceptional on everything, like top to bottom, even just the way that she wears those clothes. I mean, forget it, that's like such a silly small thing to say because she's giving such a wonderful performance, but she's of the period, you know what I mean, Like you
buy every single aspect of it. And I think is that I'm just in awe of the Sherman Palladinos. I'm just like, this is so totally different from Gilmore Girls.
But also there's also some sliver of like ven diagram similarity. Definitely, like there's still that breathless quality about like her stuff, but like so like so just her mind to go from like a mother daughter commedates to like a period drama y like is so Sarah and I went to the party, the party because and I was like I'm going to this because I got invited last year, you know, before it became this like monster head. So they invited nobody,
hell any York. And then season two rolled around and I had to like I had to be like stepping into this, and I brought Sarah because we love the show, and we had literally front row seats in the theater to go see it. And Amy Sherman Palladino came out in one of her hats and she was wearing this diamond necklace, like a double loop nineteen twenties, like long diamond necklace, and my brain sort of went, oh, that those are fake, because it's like that diamond necklace is insane,
But then I realized it's Amy Sherman Palladino. Those are real diamonds, and they were Tiffany's had I think, lend them to her. I mean, who knows, she might have bought them, but like I was wearing this very sparkly double hung thing. And then we went to the we like walked on Fifth Avenue, went to the Rainbow Room for the party, and we stayed the entire time. I mean, we were obsessed. Were the best time, I mean, and they it's Amazon's that this party that they threw was
lit and I was like, whoa they have? And also you know, like I would imagine that's probably their biggest hit, right yeah, post Transparent, I feel like it. Right. But I also remember hearing like that the pilot when they were you know, they just released the pilots like that had been the best responded to one they had ever had. And I'm watching it and I'm thinking, wow, it's gotten so much better since the pilot. Like it's just one
of those it reminds me of me. That's what I love about TV now is that, like you can't I think like a lot of shows hit their stride even season two, because now it' TV. You don't have to hit numbers like right off the beginning. You can do Amazon or Hulu or whatever, and people just let shows kind of get a chance and grow an audience. Yeah, and Amazon is able to do that. And I mean, listen, I saw the pilot was also great. So good. Yeah, pilots so good. Um, I I think just totally like
just I don't know, is such a good show. I'm still in season one, so that's why I'm like, oh
wait till you get the season two. The shining moment of season two I'll just say to you, is that when they first get to the cast Skules and get to their house, and there's been a long scene that one can you believe, I got chills just even looking at you and talking about literally, oh my god, we can tell you, we can tell you so literally like it's a it's an outside the house they check into the cat Skills one of these like family retreat things that people used to do, which, by the way, are
all being bought up by like Brooklyn hipsters to really vive this trend of like which come on and like all this stuff, you know, like potato sack races. It's like whatever, I know, and so people are like, you know, Brooklyn people like us. You know, people are buying up
these cats Skills retreats. Anyway, so this scene that Matt's talking about is that they set up a camera and they arrived to this house and you just see it from the outside, and it's essentially them moving back into the house with all of their stuff and throwing stuff out the window and rearranging the furniture and like yelling at the people to come back and forth. And it was like a highly rehearsed warner of them just in the house and like dialogue inside and outside. It was
the most intricate I had ever seen. And they do some amazing winners, like that whole dance scene that they did also at the Cats unbelievable. Believe I don't know, because flat out right this day, this day or somebody who directed the other two leto and oh my god. It's also like Chris and I could talk about Killing Eve for like a another, like we were doing this whole press day our cast was and Chris and I were just going like press person a press person being like,
have you watched Killing Eve? And they were like, um, are we here to talk about You were like, we don't care, we just finished. We want to talk about it. Okay, Literally before Chris comes in, I am going to have watched Killing You so that we can talk about and you have to watch so that we can be ready for Chris and Sarah. Well, I'll talk to Sara about you talk to Chris about Yes, yes, the audience will just deal with that. You can catch up with us. Okay.
So the other two, which is a show that we are fucking love, so Central sent us the whole season, so we got to watch it a literally, but I and I don't really do this like you've been watched I've been to and I never binge never, it's a
chore for me. But I was like preparing myself to like roost for a day and just watch this whole thing, and it was effortless and so good and like I think it's like it's just the way Chris and Sarah right and like even whatever, this sounds so esoteric whatever, but like even at the office when I'm like looking through old pieces of writing from old shows, and it's like it says like Kelly Schneider, You're like reading through their sketches and I'm like, oh my god, like they're
iconically good, crisp and clean, unbelievable and so and it just shows on this on the show and with the rest of the writing and stuff with Cole, with Jordan's with with Joel, like all these people with Joel, with Cole with Joel, so many and just that room is so good and the writing is truly like yes, it's what Mama saying earlier. People are gonna feel seen by this in a way that like I didn't think you
could capture. I was like, oh, well, you know, like all this this weird gay subculture of Instagram that's like something so specific that it's so abstract to me. And the fact that they were able to, like just in that one episode like capture that and make it funny. I thought was like, well, here's what I'll say, and I want to know what you think about this. This is what I think. That's the show apart. I think
we've we've tried. We've seen so many times like the woman who's like almost thirty and like doesn't have it together, this guy who's like they're almost thirty and they don't have it together, and it takes place in New York, and we've seen that. But this is so lived in. This is so real, and it is told in a
way we haven't seen it. And what I really liked about this season is your character actually tries to get her ship together and like like not to spoil, but like succeeds in many ways at growing And so many times in other shows where we see this kind of like Brooklyn situation of like we'd got to figure it out, it's like you see this kind of wrote thing of like you see the ways in which they don't succeed.
And I love the show because it truly is serialized and we're really following these characters growth and like, is that something that you knew would be part of it from the pilot or like that just a surprise as as you kept kept filming, or it's just a It's a really good point to make because I think that it is um and you know, we've all auditioned for them so many times, or at least I do, because this is something I get placed in a lot, which is just like I can't get it together, and like,
thank you for calling me almost thirty. That's really sweet the two characters, you know, I think we were like thank you, um, I and I again, I think it's you know, not to talk about this, well we could talk. I could say this a thousand times right now. Is that it's a testament to Chris and Sarah again, which
is just that they think about everything differently. So the minute you think you have some sort of like an interesting idea or think that where the characters will go or or what you know, they think of something more interesting than you. I don't know, it's like their brains work differently than regular brains. But It's what I love about the show is that it's you see them each
Every episode is essentially like a situation. Like the scripts were literally named Chase turns fourteen, Chase goes to a premier.
It's just all but it's but it's us plopped into these situations and what I And it's like you said, she um Brook my character Um, It's it's like she's Sarah said this word to me when I was like, I don't know how to talk about it, and she's like, it's the idea that you pivot and it's in life and and then you know, and we can speak to this in so many ways, which is that you know your face with these things, and instead of like sitting in your own muck about it, you're like, Okay, how
can I now take this and then pivot? And and that's what I UM love about it. And there's no animosity that the two of them have for their brother's success at all. There's no jealousy, they're not mad about it. It's none of that at all. It's like, Okay, this is happening. How do I live within my life? And then I think what I love about Brooke is that she says, how do I, um, how do I now
mold my future? Because this is an opportunity. She takes it as an opportunity exactly, and yeah, it's brilliant and just the yeah, and you're right. It's like what both of you are saying. I'm just now realizing the way that what the show pulls off is so so so crazy, because it is like two narrow duel Brooklyn Nights whatever, just or just New Yorkers trying to make it. And then but then like the container of that is their brother's success, and every episode is a situation, and like
that's what the titles are. Truly, it's like them being plopped into these different situations and that is the container for season one. And then there's a there's a fun tease at what's coming up, and I thought that was so that last shot. I'm like, oh my god, this is of course, yes, and it makes perfect so so intelligently. Throughout this season you don't really see it coming, but then it makes total sense. I can't. I mean, like you and you you're going to hear us continue to
talk about the show a bunch. But what another thing I really loved about it is just like just when you think, because because there's an element of darkness to the show, a huge element of who like put through
craziness and makeup inherent. Yeah, I mean like Drew's character there is it's really interesting the way that these This is another thing I real liked about it, Like this moment arrives in both your character's lives and you have to decide how you're actually going to tackle this moment when it comes, you know, and it's this thing of like that's very the return to Saturn, right. It's like it's like Drew's character and I see him like his character gets thrown this like wrench in his life and
the same with yours. And I actually think that your character is the older sibling and you do see like even those two or three years, like the way that your character takes to like okay, my my pivot in life is happening right now. You see like the differences there, and he is like the little brother in a way, and so it's just so specific and well it's it's so funny too, because it's like you know, you think about I'll just say for myself, is that like I
became um, like I know this this is related. I knew about Bowen because of high maintenance, and then I became very aware of you when you were doing your lip sync things on Twitter, which it's like, I mean, I watched them over and over again to like understand what is happening in your brain because your mouth it was so perfectly but then what's even your face is fully acting. You're doing Tyrae, you're doing Sandra, You're doing
Julia Roberts. It's so funny. And then and then like and then I knew about Matt because I started following you, and then I got like introduced to like you know, Cat Cohen and like Metra and Patti Harrison, and I was like, oh, this is so cool, like you know
our generation of comedians and like what's happening? And then I wasn't until like three weeks ago that I was like, I'm like over half a decade older than all of So the reason I bring this up is just to say, is in like reference to the story, is that we all look at where we're at in life, how old we are, what that means, and what other people have
accomplished until that moment. How many times have you googled the age of an actor to be like they've accomplished and done all of these things, and where am I in? You know, my story and like I think it's we could look it up. I was like Emma stone Age and you're like, I know forgetting she's like hosted the Oscar.
It's insane, especially because like now you realize I don't know, like I think, like especially like the new phenomenon though it's new like us, Yes, putting ourselves under these crazy rubric in terms of age is relatively new. I think that is true. When did you start performing and doing this right out of college? Okay? Cool? And so there was a was there a period of like success like earlier or like did people consider People were always telling you because this is something that we got a lot,
like you guys are so young. You guys are so young. I still get that, which I'm like, think you, but but now it happens a little bit less. I'm finding like now that I'm like going to be what twenty nine, I just feel like you don't hear as much as you were when you were twenty one, which is like, well, yeah, you start out your career and you're the youngest person
in whatever you're doing. Like my first job out of college was the show called Walmart Topy at the Manette Lane Theater, and I was the youngest person in the company. And you know, it was that way for a while, even when I did Wicked, I was very young, like I was the youngest, one of the youngest people. And then that just starts to stop happening, and it's um and it's like it's like a case Walker who's on the show. What do you mean you're fifteen compete? What
do you mean? He's like, this was my first audition, and I'm like, same, I came to this just as easily first audition. Yes, he was doing he was doing this app called Musically, which is this is case Walker
who plays Chase Dreams on the show. Perfectly cast, perfectly cast, perfect in every way, and um, you know, like we read with Drew and I read with I think like five different kids, and he's just you know, he's that he's that is and he you know, he's like, yeah, it's crazy, Like you know, they came to l A and they did this audition and he booked a series regular on a television It's amazing, And you're like, Google, go go go go, go, go, go, go, go, go,
go go go. But it's like there is that thing though, like you booked that thing early and then like you realize it doesn't happen every time. And sure, yeah, I was gonna say any waves and that happens in ways exactly exactly. But I think that this is I was. I was just saying, like it's a new thing where I feel like either I mean for us, yes, obviously that but also back in the day like pre Sochmid did this, but it wasn't it wasn't as amplified. I know.
I think I think it will. Social media amplifies everything of course, of course, and also the information isn't readily available to you, so you can't just dive into a worm hall of all this information. Like I literally, for a bit that I didn't the other night, didn't show I googled Jude laws weight and you can find it,
like he weighs pounds, like you can find it. Like, but I was like, wow, you really can find anything so in terms of age, like and then also there's that thing of like when someone doesn't reveal their age, it's like a scandal. Also, who doesn't reveal their age like, you know what's crazy to me? Like this this is like a sick oh statist like that's sometimes because it's
Oscar season. Like somebody the other day was like, you know it might be it's so and so is here because the mean age of the best actress Oscar winners that Sandy Key this movie that is stunning. I'm literally looking at you being like, how is he lip sinking to this voice that is not his own voice? Even though I know how things work, I see the other two. There's no other series listeners that is crazy. It's like
sling blade that impression. Anyone can do anyone, but know what I feel like, the thing is like I've just been more aware of it as I as I hit almost at thirty. And the thing is like, that's the thing with the show is it's like maybe it's maybe that's why I feel like this show right now is the is the one I've waited for in this way because I am almost thirty. But there was one scene where I literally texted Drew that day because I was like, I just watched the scene where you went to the gym.
I had gotten a gym membership that day. That's too much and let me tell you. I went and walked into the crunch gym and Greenpoint looked around and walked out. I was so upset. I was so and now, no, forget it now and now I know. Now I know what I'm doing in there. I'll make a humiliating admission. Why how does situation happen to me? After I fully shot this scene and was aware of it and it happened in front of Sarah and just to say, like
how things are related? So I go to the as I said, marvelous Mrs Masal premiere with Sarah and you've watched the show, and I literally had been like, I have a publicist right now, So I was like, get me into marvelousness. I want to go to that party. They always have amazing past apps and like it's gorgeous. So I go and Sarah has to pick up the tickets because I was an idiot and took the R train, which like what nobody can depend on that? So I'm
running late. Sarah picks up the tickets. It's free. She's like, I'm cold, get here, and I'm like, I'm sorry, I'm coming. She picks up the tickets and I go, hey, I'm so sorry. I have to do the carpet because I got the tickets through my public I was like, and also like, it was one of those giant covered carpets. You know, get me in there. It's a good idea for you to do it. Yes, forget it. Yeah. So I was like, okay, sorry, sorry, Sarah, I have to
do the carpet. And I did this in front of Sarah, who is I'm not kidding you, the coolest person I know. I think the coolest person I know she's I mean she and I are friends now, and I'm still like I think she's. So this happened to me in front of Sarah Schneider after shooting the show. I go up to the woman and I'm like, no, no, I'm sorry. I walk up to the gate and I go at the security card. It's like stops men and go hi, yeah,
I'm doing this. It's literally for bath and what I said, I'm doing this and the girl goes, um, what's your aim? And I said Helena York and she goes, I don't have you on this list, and I go cool, So where's the entrance? And I turned on my heel and we just walked in and Sarah was like, oh, Hi, I'm doing this. I'm doing I'm doing this. Hi, I'm doing this. Is this so o noxious to say? That is such a Laney thing, that is so your character for my maintenance. Well, I'm so sad to say that. Like,

And is it fair to say that, I feel like, I mean, I'm sure they both like developed these together, but I feel like Sarah probably used you as like you're used. Brooke is like her surrogate maybe, and then maybe Carrie Drew's characters was like like what
they get asked that a lot. You got to ask them about it too when they come because it's definitely yes, but it's loosely no. But you know, the other day, Chris was looking through old pictures and found a picture of himself in his uniform from when he worked at that Italian restaurant, and it's literally what Drew's wearing. So
you know, there's definite parallels. And um, Sarah when she was single was on a quest to see fifty dicks, Like that's a real thing that she and she now at her wedding was like and I made it to two. So there's definitely that. I mean, you know, thankfully they're both wildly they have now they're catapulted into exactly who they are now. Wild. So are you mostly in l A now York. I walked here from my apartment. Shut up.
He lives right around the corner to Helena texted me, I've been terrible about getting back to my text today. Helena texted me, is the studio your apartment because we're I'm a twenty minute walk from you, And I was like, no, but I'm blocks away, and then this is okay. So this is the story about Helena, and I want to know. It's honestly one of my favorite things. That's favorite day. It was my favorite days. He was he was going on about it the other day. Oh, I love him.
He's anyway, this could be an entire souls like glad we could spend the rest of our time here doing that. Often tell the story I want to know. So I took I took a class at the Brooklyn Heights studio
on Quartz Street. This is like nine thirty am. I got my ass kicked, Hop out of the shower, Come out of the shower, I get dressed, I walk up the stairs, and then coming down the stairs, I make eye contact with Helena h and then I just seize up basically, and then she and then you were and then I go, oh my god, Bowen yeah, And I was like what because I have been like over here like for years and years and years being like like just being like, oh my god, that blond lady on
high maintenance is so funny. And then she's the one who recognizes me, and I was like, this is so backwards and fucked up. And then we had this like such a cute little chat on the stairs, blocking everyone else, and we exchanged phone numbers and we went to the cycle together the next day or the next day or two days later, and we took class together. And that was the class where who who was the instructure? Was
it Rachel? It was Rachel and then she it was where we had to go under the and I was like, ship to this and it fucking it gave No. I didn't. Really I'm very excellent, but some days I'm I'm very
excellent at it. It's like the stupidest skill to have, but it's like one of my favorite skill because every time I go and they're always like, don't look around, this is your journey, and I'm on the bike fully looking around, like look at you, we losers, and I'm like fully keeping up and like sometimes if there's like a cute guy like behind me or diect like behind me, like I'll give them an extra show, like I'm just oh, I love it, throw it back during a tap back.
I throw it back during a tap back and there's a body roll. I'm like, get out of here. Over. I can't sl on you twice. I think, Yeah, you cancel on me a lot. I've actually had a lot. By the way, have you guys also had people canceling on you like crazy because they're sick. Everybody is sick right now. Everyone sucks. It's it's not a good time right now for health. It's just not We touched on it before we came here because there's a bunch of food in front of us. But we're all gladly opting
into each other's germs right now. Sure, but I'm doing great in the whole thirty I've never felt better. This is my last week that I'm free before work starts up again. I will take a class with you this time. I have to go to l A tomorrow. I went today. I took Joe today at If anybody ever wants to stalk and kill me, you can come to the Brooklyn Heights cycle on Court Street. I'll be there. You know who's who just moved to that studio And she's one
of my favorites is Claire. Oh, I like Claire, just forge you. Oh my god. She smiles and I'm like, heaven, Yeah, I'm like and when whenever she tosses her hair around, I'm like, oh you are she's like developing a following. She's like in the throes of developing her follow and she deserves that. I can't believe I even know that
I've mentioned Claire on this pod before. She was the one who filled in for that Gaga class, and then she was the one who, like during one of the sprints or one of the health she was like, um, you have to put an effort, but you have to do more than enough. Enough doesn't put a roof for your head. Enough doesn't put food on the table. So I need you to go more than And she I felt that in my just like I like readied my body.
She does. She does the best talk. Well, I just want to say because I would like to if we're before we get off the ccycle topic, I would love to just quickly like promote a couple instructors that I think are great. So people that I love. Um Marvin who teaches at NoHo in West Village a lot. Marvin is fantastic. Bevin also boasted so great. Bevin is also from One Tree Hill, What Yes, Gotta go? And then Karen.
Karen has the body of dreams. It's like one of those bodies where I'm like, this is partially genetic, so we'll never have it, so get out of my face. Um, she's amazing. My friend Emily Turner, she just had a baby, but she's gonna be back on the schedule soon. She looks like a mermaid. She's amazing. Um Joe at Brooklyn Heights. Um, Rachel's gone now, but she's doing this new thing that
I've heard is really great, like a dance fitness thing. Um. Also Ariel and if you also again want to stalk and kill me, I like to go to the eleven forty five Am on Sunday's at NoHo with Ariel and just plays the best music, the best. He definitely does play best music. And also he always is sneaky with what music you think is gonna fucking slap, I'm telling you he played That's the way it is. By Clandon and I had my hands in the air screaming out
of joy. God, he's good. And then he finished it was since You've Been Gone by Kelly Clarkson, which you were you were? He played on Sunday, this smash up of every like white girl pop star song you want to listen to, and it was like it was like a matchup of like Taylor and Kelly and like there's
a Britney moment. I get it. It was so good and we were like the night that they were going to go see Dave and Arie when they were going to go see Brittney in Atlantic City, he did an all Brittany ride and it was so it was also just did the Britney hair toss. Actually I think I've been to one of his Brittany rides, but like years ago. Oh my god. I just like some people want to throw shade at Sole cycle and they're like I don't like Cardio, and I'm like, stop it and get into it.
It's so and it's like I do other things because you're supposed to. What else did you keep keep going on a cycle run? But it's just it's just great. It's great, and honestly it's great. It's this is this is very woo woo, but like its exercise is good for your brain and it changes your life. And I
used to work at Physique fifty seven. I worked the front desk, so this was my like survival hustle, and I used to when people checked in, like you know, check their age and what their addresses were, because I was like, who's paying this for exercise? Like, oh, you live in so because I was you know, like working
it out. I was like printing my audition sides at the front desk and checking people in and I would like get my bacon, egg and cheese from the cart outside and like open the studio and women would be like is that bacon And I'd be like, yes, are you here for the six am? And they would like work out smelling my bacon? And now you're on TV? Who cares? But but well it's just to go to say, like,
you know, we all hustle. And I worked in physic fifty seven is bar method and I've been going back and it is you should come with me while you're doing Snell'll do it. I got a cart time. It's so great and it is so impossible and there's like lots of different bar method studios and I don't want to throw shade, but Physic seven is truly the place to go. It's so great. I love it. S LT
is also insane. Have you ever trying a megaformer. It's like there's a pilates reformer, but then there's a megaformer that has the movie bit the moving between. It's one of those things where they're like okay, and you do one rep and you're like that's enough, right, and they're like no, forty more and you're like no, and they're like keep going and you're like I literally can't, like I don't know what to tell you. It's great. That
stuff crazy. Well, you weren't there, but for Rachel Witzky's um we did a bar class and me and Dave Mazzony, Ariel's boyfriend were the only guys that we're doing it and it we were like, hey, it'll be fine because because these grocery doors movement it was it was it was like low impact, but the highest impact it was.
It was the frequency. It was like my body was shaking and like I've actually, since the year has turned, I've been in the gym, like every day I'm lifting more and so like now I'm trying to get back into it and I'm doing cardio and I have an announcement. I am doing a marathon in November. Yes, congratulations. That's such a journey. I always said I would do it because I used to run very comparatively and like in
high school, and I was in really good shape. And I've just kind of let that part of my life go, which Mara doing, I'm doing here. We go to Disney World, his favorite place in the wold fucking world. Helena, Wait, can we get to I don't think so, honey, because it's related if you come from me. Look, I'm doing it at Disney World. How proud she was of me, and how excited she was for me, And then when I said it was Disney on the look her eyes grown. Man,
don't understand. You don't understand when the last time you went, oh god, the judgment. I can't believe. I literally can't believe this. It's as small as a world as running into Bowen Ye on the stairs. It's the cycle gratry, and I don't think so, honey, happens to be this. It's literally okay, we'll get to it. We'll get to it. Oh my god, we're going to get to it. And
I'm still excited that you're running a marathon. That's a amazing And the reason the reason why I'm doing it is because my friend Eric Harrison, who did one last year, emailed me and said, this one's at Disney World if you want to like have an extra reason to go, And I was like thinking about it, and I was like, it's in November, by the way, like November in Florida. Actually, yeah, fair enough unless there's a hurricane, yeah for sure, which
the likelihood of that is actually high. Yeah, the world's over so actually high. I hope this show comes out very soon because no, but the thing is, like it was, it feels far enough away where I'm like going to be able to get ready for it. And honestly, I said I would do it my whole life, and I'm now I'm kind of at that point where it's like stick to the training, stick to the training thing because
it also being disciplined. I've watched friends of mine go through this being disciplined about the whole The whole thing changes your life, not changes your life, but it gets into your brain in a way that you just sort of think about your own motivation and in your own organization, and you're you know, ambition. It's so amazing, so impressive
and incredible to do one of them right now. What I'm doing is ever since January one, and even since a little bit before that, I finally got a gym membership. Like I said, I've been to have been going to for months and months and months, and so I've been going every day. I'm in the gym for an hour every day, and so I'm also thinking about what I'm eating and like I'm eating like like high protein meals
like after I work out and stuff like that. I just needed to change that part of my life to make it a focus, and so like just letting all the listeners know I'm actively doing it, and I will be on this podcast every week so you can hold me accountable if I'm saying I'm not. And He's going to be that he's gonna be in Orlando November. I'll be with him just to cheer him a coming. I won't be there because it's the fucking worst place. I need to know when the last time you went there.
I talk about it, like do I talk about it? Because I don't, So we'll hold off because there's more I will say. There is like a fun little at us to know, like high up people at us, to know who like I overheard them talking about their Christmas plans and they were like, yeah, like I'll just out him like Dennis M. Nicholas that we can. Day was like, yeah,
I might. I'm just thinking about getting like a room at the Grand Flurty and just spending a few days people at us and now just like love Disney World too, like fucking like talent people like who I bet, I bet you know who I bet is super fun at Disney World. Kate Kate. Kate probably hates it. Kate probably hates it. He probably hates it. I bet Cecily hates it. Cecily likes it. I think I don't know any of these people. Like wow, man, a lot of assumptions. I'm
just like eating all of listening to this conversations. I'm so angry listen. Okay, well, look, it's it's a part of my it's a part of my interest. I simply want too. Here's what I will say if I ever went back there with my people. No, I think running
a marathon there doesn't double back though. Do you have to see the same stuff twice or do you I would imagine because the property is so vast that like, is it six point four miles mast it's hundreds of thousands of Okay, so but that's so that's fun and also probably flat the whole way because it's Florida, and like there's no you know, crazy like for example, the
New York City Marathon. Everybody talks about the fact when you run over the bridge over Queens that it's like you're running uphill and you're halfway through and then at the end, Central Park is like an entire uphill, all up hill. Yeah. No, it's when you're finishing, it's it's that's a tougher one. But you're gonna deal with fucking You're gonna you're gonna be running through Jello. It's so humid. It's so humid. Um. I gotta tell you, um, you could.
You could write a whole book about this, just this experience about getting ready for it. Apparently a lot of adult people like Disneyland and World I do, and I'm one of them, and I actually make it my mission to to to soften this. And you were going to go to Disney World. Very fun. You know what though, Here's what I will say, and I'm saying in here now, and maybe I'll be held accountable if I say it now, is that if Bowen wanted me to go with him to cheer you on, I do that. I would do that.
I think we get a little we get a little group to go. You want to make dumb signs and mine will have like a dead Mickey Mouse on it. And then honestly we're going to get you into the park and we do like a cat skills experience like activities that giant. We got to find that by wow. We have to ask, we have question what is the culture that made you say culture is for you? Which is basically another way of asking. It's another way of asking, what was the formative pop culture when you were growing
up that really informed your interests? Now, it's those kind of cultural touchstone that like kind of made you you, whether it was music a particular musical artist that you liked, a movie, a kind of genre of something. It's an interesting yeah, it's like I like the first thing that comes to mind is um, well, like you know, I'll just start by saying that, like I dance ballet from the age of three years old and all this stuff, but the thing that feels like it made me me.
We're um a spintera Pet Detective and um Austin Powers number one. Wow. I have been saying on this podcast, we need like a broad comedy like that physical, insane comedy. Even see um Jim Carrey at the globes in his face and I just think he is such a genius. He compelling to watch, unbelievably compelling and interesting. And that, you know, ASPINTERA Pet Detective is such a great movie.
I can still recite it. And you know, Christmas Vacation, that's a huge It's so it's you you mentioned that, and literally I have an aunt that plays it on a loop for seven during the Yeah, and like highly underrated Julia Louis Dreyfus in that movie is unbelievably great. I don't know, Margot, Oh god, what does she say that something? Whatever? Todd? I don't know, Margot, what we're going to do about A Todd? I don't know, Margot. It is so good, so good. Do you have a
blunt spot for that? I'm a bad comedy st My sister wanted to put it on this this this Christmas. It's hard to motivate one that you're like, I don't have a relationship to this. Yeah, it's true. But then like this was the first year that I finally saw it A Wonderful Life, and I was like, oh my god, I could have been I could have grown up with this. I don't care for that movie. It was. It was nice. It was like, really, I care for it, but like I'm good. Now you're good. Okay, that's fair. But see
Christmas Vacation. I think like, next up, next year, is there a Christmas movie that you're like every time? Yes, this besides Christmas Vacation. Um. I was going to say, like maybe Families, but I didn't watch it this year, which I'm surprised. Come Alone Home Alone to New York because you know, it's like when nineties Street looks like
a ship hole and you're like, that's funny. Also, like the park is so dangerous, like oh no, yeah, seriously, Katherine and Howard like running through Time Square with like her nice coat and she's like, oh god, looking over her shoulder. Yeah, this city is so dangerous. But yeah, no, that was that is a good one, and also the high drinks that he gets up to, like the things he plans for the second one, I heightened. But I watched this year and I was like, Kevin McAllister is
a diabolical psychopath. I was like, oh, he belongs in like a home shop children. Also, you know what's so crazy about that movie is like he sets up all that ship and then the next day his family all comes back and it's all it's all just like gone or like he's disposed to. Nothing said about, like the brother in law's house that was totally destroyed, were doing
construction project, nothing is said about. Also in the first one, when like he literally like destroys all those ornaments, like there's like, um, the door knob is all heated up with that thing, Like imagine if somebody written reached for that doorknob and it was all hot. My mom this Christmas first time she saw it, she was like, what if the mom opens the door? My mom was like really concerned. My mom have never I've never seen my mom laugh at heart in my life at home alone.
She was cackling at home alone in a terrifying way. I was like, I saw something that was like about raising children and about how it's bad that they see this kind of slaps it, like people getting hurt. And I was like, okay, though it didn't affect us because also like that we've they've been having that for years. I think about any tunes, even though it was cartoons,
like literally all the comedy was heavy ship. Actually I just realized what I'm referring to, and it is a gorgeous film, and it's the Mr. Rogers story, which where he talks about how it's so sad that kids are exposed to all of this, you know, getting harmed in things all the time, and you watch Mr Rogers and you're like, he has a point. But also I really do like when the Roadrunner keeps getting away that good I cried on a plane is that movie? I love
that you say Austin powers because Austin powers. Yes, And also like all of them that came out here all funny. Oh my god, the first one is great, the second one I think might be my favorite, and the well remember Anything is so underrated. And also Beyonce fully in it. Oh my god, oh my god, she's so good in it. She really is really good. Margaret that jennaked on the
Code Day the Cold Day. I love it. It's so funny, it's so smart onliners one million dollars, it's so good, and all the Japan stuff, the Tokyo stuff, and the third one with that and all the subtitles. Guys, am I having you over so we can rewatch. We have to, we have to, Marathon. I don't remember the last time I saw it. I watched, I saw, I've seen that. I recently watched the second one because it was just
on television and it was just so good. Like literally, there's this scene where like the like spy, like the woman is like approaching, like it's the first scene with Heather Graham, and she's like, you better keep an eye up because there's a spy here, and then she walks away and then he's like and then this girl comes Robin swallows and she's like never, that's standard, right, Yeah, she goes and she's like wearing that wig that's pushed back. Oh my god. And it's so much physical comedy and
like all the actors that are so good. And also the second one brought us um the the American Woman cover. Yeah, yeah, it really is. It the same scene where Heather Graham is dancing like with the other. Oh my god, so I kept reminding to as a kid. Was at the end when the rocket is about to launch and it's Froud restarting the countdown, and yeah, we should scream the five. We can probably go to five. Funny, we don't have like that anymore. We don't and if we do it
like tries too hard. But like we we don't have ship. That's just like it scene to scene, just funny like that. The scenes are written like sketches, like there's a simple comedic idea and each scene and that's just executed. It's just stupid that, like audiences don't want that anymore. It doesn't work. I think everyone's obsession with being smart. Yeah, don't you think I don't know, write it, Bowen, write it.
I mean that should be what we're right. Yeah, and we basically wrote we wrote a show that we had a whole show which is called night Soap, which is us in full drag as to warring chocolate dynasty matriarchs, the Hersheyes in the nest Les and it's about who's going to sell the first chocolate in space and it was it is the only my character's name is Barbara Hershey, the actress Barbara Hershey, and it is in fact that Barbara Hershey. And that was a good show. Well, I'm
a veil to be your assistant. I don't know, like Helena should have a kame did it one time? Literally literally the story of is like is like a fucking Mike Myers thing. Like by the end we do end up in space. It is like the second Austin Powers of the Death and Space. Yeah, I mean honestly remember like Mars Attacks. Yeah, I love Mars Attacks. And also that was classic lend close right there, classic lun close, classic s JP is s JP. Isn't Natalie Borman in
Mors Attacks? Um, Elizabeth? No? No, someone is Natalie Apartment? Is she the President's daughter? I feel like someone I need to rewatch this. That's a really good one. Good god. And we're like the girls. She's walking like this just like really an alien. She's like, yes, he's help people walk so and that little that's that dress anyway? Um. The third Austin Powers gave us Nathan Leane lips thinking to be once. Every scene is a sketch, so good,
damn it. I mean also, the music in it was just like, wait, what he had the modest touch much remember smoking a pancake or cigar, not grape like, so I will say, and the whole Austin Powers canon Goldmember
is the character that hit the least for me. But that's only because we had the gloriousness a fat bastard, um, the confusing of the files with the ship and like, oh my god, naughty but not its So it's so funny that you it's so funny that you mentioned those movies as like influences, like formative things for you, because I feel like Helena, You've had such a great varied resume and like, but it feels like like in your heart of hearts, you are like a comedy person. I
don't know. Yeah, it's um, it's interesting because I it's not interesting, it just is what it is. Um. I you know, I went to school for theater, and um, when you go to school for theater, you're like you fancy yourself very deep. And I played like, um, who's the mom and Tommy, um, Mrs Walker? I played Mrs Walker and Tommy my senior year. And then I graduated and I was like only cast in comedic roles in theater and then I started doing TV and I did.
I have gotten to do a lot of different things, which is so cool what I do wish sometimes looking back, I'm like, oh, I wish I had done a uc B or thought about doing stand up or getting involved in that. But I was so poor and u c B classes are like four hundred dollars Jesus, and so I was like, well, I'm I'm gonna try. You know, I was trying to do theater, and I was doing
a lot of theater, and I was touring. I like toured Wicked when I was very young, and I toured like high school musical as Sharp, so you know, I was doing that, and so I was just sort of on that train. And so I didn't get into that world. And honestly, it has always felt like, and this is why this is to me, I'm like so excited that people love the show and and and all of this or so far because they've been sending the episodes out.
But when I got the pilot for this speaking because you were talking about running into Schneider and Kelly sketches now that you're at snl UM. When I got the pilot, I read it and I was like Oh, I hate reading stuff I want, Like it's so scary because when you want something, you're like there's a possibility that I'll
disappoint myself and I won't get it. And so I read the pilot and I was like look, and so I went in and I met m and I was in there for a long time and we were chatting and their fans of High Maintenance and um, and I was just like, God, they're so cool, Like this is so cool, and like all of these like you guys are so deeply cool and like this whole world is
so cool. And I was like, I got out of the audition and I called my manager and I was like, well, I'll never get it, But do you think that they want to have a drink with me? Sometimes? Like I want to hang out And then next thing you know, you're going to fucking Mrs Mazel's premier pint with Sarah.
I'm doing this, Hi, I'm doing this. Um. So it feels like it's a club and it's not, because it's And the thing that has been so amazing about being a part of this world now is that everybody, and like you guys are so included in this is so incredible and wants to like constantly tell each other how
great they're doing all the time. And I'm so amazed by people and so inspired by like different voices and comedy right now is so interest staying cool and different and yes, and it was even like, um, I went I saw Bowen, um guest on uh the you know um Cat and Mitra and Patty Show and the way that those three girls, Oh, it was really funny. It
really made me laugh. It's a guy, I think, I think you and that whole song where they're like God is a guy because he's so random, and I was just like, this is so amazing anyway, I just I think you're also cool. And I'm so excited to be here.
And so it was like you know, watching things like Ace Frona or um, you know, I just I kind of like I turned into theater and like I said about Brook, like I pivoted, and I'm just it feels right to be here and I'm so excited to be in this and I you know, like Molly Shannon plays my mom, you know that is that turn of events, Like and she's the best, incredible, she's the greatest. I mean,
if you watch the show. There's a scene that we do on a plane and she's absolutely, she's just insane, and you know, we do these scenes in a in a bathroom and she she's just you know that episode that was that that was an example of it's it's
like episode eight or nine, you guys. So I'm not going to talk about the specifics, but I will say there's an episode later in that season, which is the one we're talking about, which is the perfect example of what's so special about this show is it has all the darkness and it actually in the most shocking way makes it one of the funniest episodes of so and then by the it's dark, but then by the end something like these way it gets talked about is this
is just so funny. Truly good dramatic performances, yes, truly good from everything, I mean, like across the board. Just like also, I have to say, like there's my favorite, I think my favorite moment of the whole season is a scene Withdrew at the end of one episode, which is you know what I'm talking about, which is, oh my god, there's just it's just so good, so smart, and that's like a true Chris tribute. Yeah, that felt
very Chris. One of the credit sequence towards the Town, it was Drew is giving you so much and so many different things. The other thing that like this show gives you one of sykes for christis it's you know, there were days I was at work with her and I was like, what's happening. It's so awesome, And you know, they just got smart, cool people like you know, Richard kind is on the tind did you know before? No? Wow? Great you guys. You guys have such you guys have
a very good belief. We had to do with chemistry read like we had to audition together and I looked him up and I was like, great, one of these UC you guys know how to do this. And I was petrified because he is I don't. Just a plug for Drew really quickly is if you go, if you're ever in l A and you go to the UC Beyond Franklin. He performs with this team on Friday Nights at nine, and gilling to Seem is also on that team, and she wrote on our show and they are very
good and Drew is very good. Have you seen him? I mean, I I've known I know Drew and I've known his comedy for a long time. He is very good good, He's a very skilled, wonderful improviser, and so yeah, I don't know that worked out. And the thing is too It's like it's like you said, like you read these things and you're like so and the odds are so stacked against you that you're going to get this
perfect thing. Oh it's insane. It's I think it's something that like a lot of actors that you could talk about this, this has happened to all of us where you're like where you just get it and you're like, oh, yeah, I'm gonna have to be disappointed now. I'm gonna like, I'm gonna be nervous when I get in. I know exactly how it's going to feel. I'm going to be
like waiting for the phone call. I have to say though, And this is not in a way to um brag in any way, but when you read something that feels so perfect, it's often because it is yeah, like you know, I don't know, it's just things. It's like, um, you know, it's like what they say about meeting the right person. You're just like, yeah, you know what I mean. Well, it's it's it's two things where it's like christ and Sarah like the whoever is behind the work are the
people who have made it so perfect. But then it's it's incumbent on the other person to be like, oh, I'm responding to this and so therefore I want to do a good job and just represent this one. And I feel like that is just the perfect stars aligning
thing that that happened. Yeah, And what was amazing also about that experience and shooting it because we shot it all in New York, which also for me living here was absolutely dream like I've shot a show in New Mexico, which is a beautiful place, Like you're away from home. Drue God bless him, was away from home. I actually found his sublet and he has a lot of stories about his sublet, but I found for him, so you can ask him about the sublet that he lived in
while he was here. But um is that when Chris and Sarah, when we were doing this, they were so and I think it's also their experience at SNL. They were so involved and invested in the things that they had written in the story that they were trying to tell, and you know, it was one of those things where if if I if they asked me to do like fifteen takes of something, I never felt like, oh I'm failing.
I never felt that way. I always felt like, I know that they're waiting to get what they need because and then I trust them and I was just like, oh, I'll get there. And you develop a shorthand with people that are I mean, they created an environment where like everybody loved each other and they were all happy to be there, and you know, costumes and you know photography. Everybody that was there was just um like happy and
loving what we were doing. Like there's nothing more pleasurable also than seeing like you know, your cameramember like their
shoulders bouncing up and now because they're laughing. And Sarah christ and Sarah did that and they went out of their way, like Jill Bream who does our costumes, does the costumes for the shorts at SNL, and you know, there's just all these in and then Charlie who is our director of photography, does a lot of the photography for the shorts at SNL, and so it's like a family.
It's so overused, I think to say that, but um, it's it's you know, it's like, on so many levels, this was such a dream job for me, and to the point that it was like a character that I really wanted to play. The writing was so good, Chris and Sarah so amazing. I absolutely love Drew, I love Ken marinozing Ken Rino, who is an again an amazing improviser,
an incredible funny man. And Molly, I mean, my god, and like Case who is who we watched grow into this like wonderful actor while we were doing this and giving so much hard and you know, it's it's we got to know his parents. Like, it's just it's lucky. Everyone, I mean you especially, everyone just sort of is in the right place there and it sounds so so so fun and I'm from the outside looking and being like that is so cool. I'm so excited to just follow this.
I think the show is going to be successful, and I think I think January is when it premiers everybody, which also coincidentally, and this is how you know it's a lucky day. That's my sister's birthday. Okay, are you to astrology? Yes? Okay, what are you a pisces SiO? We are water signs? No wonder I want to sit on. Who's to get sexual? Um? I get very sexual towards um, not my own signs, but aries. Oh interesting. When's your birthday? Okay,
when's yours? February? Okay, we're right around the corner. We all right around the cornal um. I actually you were just saying, and I'm thinking now, maybe I'll do a Physiquity seven class for my birthday. Whoa, yeah, maybe all that would be fun. Right'll be right, you'll be here. Yeah, I'm the pilot season good good, it'll be so mad where I'm going for my birthday? Fucking Disney God, damn it. Man,
it's harsh, but that's the way I am. I can't believe that we're pisces and sisters, and yet this is what tears us apart. Like as the pisces, you should be ready in touch with your inner child. Um No, my I was a child and now I'm an adult, so that time has passed that. I also was taken to Disneyland when I was a child and I went on the Frog and Toad right and I lost my ship. I was terrified. I was in a corner of that
little boat, like get me out. Not every ride there is for kids, and that's why you need to go back as an adult manifold reasoning if it's not for kids. I'm not surprised to hear that you're a Pisces. I'm never surprised to meet at Pisces. No. I knew that we were all vibing, and I knew we were all
water signs at the table. Because now I am an astrology bitch, like I do I follow like well, I don't know if you follow the Pisces horoscope like um, the ones on Twitter, Instagram and I'll read them and I'm like, this is terrifying. There have been days where I've been terrified. I'm like, do you do you know? My life? It's it's been a little rough, I think recently for Pisces. Maybe I feel like, well that no, no, no, recently, actually it's all turned around. But like my my whole
first but that was my return to Saturn. Well, the thing that I was annoyed that I didn't get introduced of, I didn't get introduced until later on your podcast is that, Um, I agree with you about the superstition on how you spend the first moments of your new year, And so I threw a party at my house and the theme was Canadian tuxedos and everybody showed up an all denim and I made margarita as we were all tanked and
I had enough amazing night. I was so happy and I was like, Oh, this is good, Like I believe in that as an omen there are bowen what Sola. It would be beautiful to marry. Yeah, husbands there are Okay, So let's just touch on the things we talked about in the beginning, because I know
that we need the opinions. Bohemian Rhapsody, where are you at? Well, I didn't see that, So that's where I'm at, And here's where I am at. The Favorite was so good. Also, can you ever forgive me Megan? Come on? Not Megan? Yeah, Melissa sorry, Melissa McCarthy is so good. But like, the Favorite is one of my favorite. Her first scene, it's so good. And the fact that those three women performances. I was like, oh my god, and you could just
tell they were having a blast. You were like oh and that moment where she's like are you like a yeah? So good. I think she's unbelievable. I think they're all amazing. And I loved on Olivia Coleman one best actress. I love that her speech was just I got to fly on an airplane. She's like a private jet, private jet. She's like, she's like truely that kind of speech is
what I'm here for. I need either that that exact kind of speech or inspiring speech, like, yes, that was an amazing speech, but like a bunch of names, I'm like, write them a card. I hello. I don't think so, honey, when your speech is all names, because who's going to remember that? You know what it is? It's it's it's I get it because you're like this as especially as
an actor. I'm going to say this is that it's like, it's nice and everything that like people like you're also very aware that you're like somebody else created the words I'm saying and directed this and then also not for nothing, edited it, and and so when you're an actor, you're like and not to say that, you know, we don't have value. I obviously have a lot of value. It's just that you were very aware that so much of what you did has to do with a lot of
other people. And so I think that that's what that is. And as soon as you start seeing okay, right, and as soon as you start naming people, you're excluding others just automatically, like that's what that's what happened. But that's the problem is that I would one percent, like I liked it. When what's her face? One from Nurse Jackie and she was like, I gotta go. Yeah, not name starts with an M. Name starts and then I'm oh
my god. She literally got up. She couldn't believe it, and she Merrick Merritt Weaver and she got him and she was like, oh my god, I gotta go, I gotta go, and she's she's incredibly talented. My thing with with the speech thing that is, I still say I don't think so honey on this because it is also entertainment, Like those shows are produced shows, and so you have to be entertaining up there, and I think people in the entertainment industry will understand that. So I think you
have to keep it real brief. You're going to say names, say the really important names that you feel did that, but you have to hit him with entertainment something, you know what I mean, Like we need to be feeling feelings while you're up there. And I do understand like listing the names and feeling nervous. And also you know, you probably have a lot of people in your being, like remember if you want to say this person, this
person's ego, this person. Yeah, it's probably that happening, and it's probably hard also to be like, no, I'm going to do my own things like I get that for sure. But I really did love Olivia Coleman speech. I thought she was so and she's so cool and awesome in that movie. What did you think should have won Best Movie? Alright? So what did you love this year? And I should have? Like, I will say this, I've actually seen a lot more
than I thought I had. Let me let me guess you would have wanted Advice to win Best Musical Comedy and then the favorite. No, I would have wanted the favorite, I think, but for me, oh, for Musical Comedy. For Musical Comedy, I would have wanted the favorite. I liked Vice, but I didn't I didn't love it like the best. You would have wanted stars Born, not necessarily, I think probably I would have for I haven't seen I probably I want to see that Black Panther for me, for
SA was an incredible movie. It was amazing. I think for Sag, I'm vote for a Black Panther, and I think for Best Actress. Honestly, I think I might vote Forgotten. This is my abody. How was that movie. I haven't seen that. The Wife is The Wife is very good? Is it better than Melissa McCarthy like can you ever Forgive Me? And I was like, this is one of my favorite performances. And by the way, not just her
Richard E. Grant movie. That last shot of him where he comes into Julius, which is one of my favorite New York City bars period. It's gay or otherwise bars, great bar, but he walks in and the way he looks at her, the regretting his eyes at face. I get chills to thinking about it right now is one of the most I mean, maybe one of my favorite things I've ever seen captured on film. His performance and that is und and I think herschel of the thing
is like people love him. He's already won. He's already from me. It's like when an actor has already won an Oscar, I'm cool moving, Oh did he win one? Already won? Oh? And I Richard Granted and he's very much had a movie as well. By the way, did you guys watch Bird Box? No? I haven't seen it because I'm too scared. Okay, Well, I loved it and Travante plays Oh my god, the most attractive man. Oh my god. I literally was like, why do I recognize
him from? And I looked it up and I was like, Oh, he plays the hot grown up in Moonlight where he's in the dinner and what's his name? From the Jitney on Broadway? What is his name? Oh? My god? Who plays the other the waiter? But he plays the like he's wearing he has like a grill in his mouth and he's like, and what machine gun? Kelly? No, no, um But anyway, but Travante plays that part in Moonlight and he's in bird Box and you're just like, did
you see Travonts Calvin client ad what? It's just him an underwear. It's crazy. Oh, I gotta go guys, it's the most arms and go home and watch it. I think I might just for that. But and if we're talking about like the Awards season, I'm feeling like Glenn, it's her time. Here's here's my fad, here's my thing on the list. You you prescribe to that like it's their time. Not really necessarily, but I feel she's here's the way if she has never wanted, if she loses
this year, that makes sure the most frequent loser. I just don't think we can really allow that to happen. But here's here, let me get this out. So basically, here's what I think. Melissa McCarthy. She's fucking incredible and
can you ever forgive me? But I still think, and this is like weird, I still think her most iconic performance as Bridesmaids, and I would like Melissa McCarthy to win for something that uses her all of her amazing unique skill set, because the way I think people should win an Oscar is you watch it and you say there's no one else that could have done it like that.
That's how I feel. So for me, it's like the reason I'm a fan of god As performance is because I don't think there are many people who could have done that the way that was done. You get pop star across you believe that sort of specific, specific romantic chemistry, She asked with Bradley. You get how how much of a risk it was for Lady Gaga to do something like that. She could have looked like a fucking idiot.
That's why I love that performance, and I genuinely I'm moved by that performance, and I think the chemistry between her and Bradley is the best chemistry of the year. However, Glenn Close is one of the most iconic actresses, and she's amazing in The Wife, and I just would feel strange voting for a pop star the first time you're for an oscar. So I'm leaving my own rubric behind to say that I actually think Glenn Close she should have an Academy Award. And she's also amazing in that movie.
Olivia Coleman. I think she's also incredible. I just don't think she's the lead performance in that film. And whichever the fifth one is gonna be, it's probably gonna be Emily Blunt and Mary Poppins, and she'll she'll do better work. It's it's a it's still sticks to your She was Glen because no one else could have done her what she did in The Wife. Necessarily to see The Wife. No, I haven't seen any You should see it. Okay, it's suit you just saw it. You were just on a plane.
Isn't on plane. It wasn't on a plane. I just got the screen. I haven't want I'm saying. I'm saying, hypothetically, you think Glenn might not Glenn did something that no one else cooked up. I think that which is your standard, right, and I think that at this moment in time. It's like I saw that Glenn Close performance and The Wife, and I was like, that's an expertly done, extremely well
crafted performance that I respect deeply. But for me, it's just like, is the thing and I am like deeply a gay man to say this about what I love about Gaga in this award season is that you know, and this is this conversation, is that fashion choices that you make as an actress, there's you know, you fit within kind of a box. She's a rock star, so she can match her hair to her dress and just get away with it, and it is un unreal presence.
She is already a legend. It's incredible. I mean, even thinking about looks that she did that maybe you didn't like, you still remember them, like those dishwashing gloves, the red dishwashing gloves with the wake out like I just love it was even like whatever you think about what Janelle Monet wore at the Golden Loves, she was wearing a car Lagerfeld and the fact that I know these things and I'm just like, but she can do whatever. She wants.
I think because she's a rock star and there's something about that like, I don't know, I envy it. And then I'm like, I would kill to match blue hair to this like blue Valentino custom cloud thing that she was Tiffany. Oh my god. Maybe I've been watching too much drag Race, but I felt we needed bigger hair to go with that dress. I personally didn't love the hair choice. I thought the dress was great, and I loved the nod to Judy and A Star was Born, which was so basically the that she it was an
homage to address that Judy Garland's character. Oh my god, Oh my, she didn't do it. Oh she didn't do it on purpose and she's like, oh my god, look similar hp A. There you go. And that's but honestly, like it very much looked like an homage. And the hair choice I just like I said, maybe I've been watching too much drag Race, because I wanted like a more volume to go with the volume of the dress.
But you know what, at the end of the day, you're looking right, I'm literally just sitting here basking and the energy of it. Yes, there's just I sat next to Janelle Money and she was sitting across from Tessa Thompson at a restaurant recently. I was sitting right next to her and across from was Tessa Thompson, and I was like, oh, oh my god, yea, and her skin
glows like that in person. Yeah, it's crazy. I mean, she is one of the most beautiful women as insane and Tessa Thompson was just in terms of style of to go and globes. I have to shout out Nicole Kidman. She's got great taste. She's awesome, a great taste in fashion, great taste in the product she she was just so like, gave her flotrough that dress, wait, gave her keep Urban was next to it. Gave both of them flu shots. Urban got one because he like winced from it, but
he got one Keith. They were both down. I was like, wow, did you guys ask them before you went out? So this is gonna be part of my own things. So honey, but I did Keith, Nicole that I did, Jeff Bass, you administered them. Yeah, I was one of the I was one of these. He was one of the people that went out of the audience and begging was so funny. Dafoe knew about it beforehand, and he was still plugging
it putting up. Dafoe was the only person who was told ahead of time, we're doing this bit with flu shots, will you it was an actual flu shot? No, no, no no, they were just okay, I thought you were actually. By the way, the fact that I believe that is I love that love that believe I'm doing this. Hi, I'm doing this because like that. Oh my god, Okay, that's funny. I have my whole line of things. Okay, well, I can't wait. Um, and about another thing I did in
the show that was whatever, Okay, I can't wait. Cool Golden. It was the most it was the most overwhelming experience, especially because like Sandra, fuck, yes, can you just talk a little bit about it? Yeah? Can you talk about Honestly, I'm gonna be so annoying, and like she said things to me that like I that we are just like special for you, So that were she said it just for me. People keep asking has she seen the lipsing videos? The answer is yes, that was one of the first
things we talked about. I will just say, okay, so like we so the first day that she meets us, we meet with Andy. He's fantastic, truly, Andy Sandberg, Like he's one of the goats, one of the nicest the fund and I'm just I look at him and like, you are a genius. Like I went back and listened to put the pop Star soundtrack and was like, and Anna Kiva Kiva was there too, and he's so nice. Um, yourma wasn't. But they were both there and they were just so nice, so nice to everybody and to me,
and it was so great. And then so we meet with them. But then but then Sandra comes in and everyone's like yeay Sandra. And then she goes around and shakes hands with everybody, introduces her off to everybody, and then she comes to me and she goes, oh, I know who you are, and I just fucking melt and she gives me a hug. But then like later on, we break into smaller groups and she has this so the pepsid thing was her idea idea, and then she had like me and like Sudi and Max Selvestry like
sit together and like write it with her. Um but um. But there was this little lull in in the the writer session when the food came and I just got up to use the bathroom, and she like reached her hands out. I told you this, Yeah, you don't have to share. She reached All I'll say is she reached her hands out as if to like and like looked at me and reached her hands out, and all I could do is just did you meet her with my fingers? And then and then and then she just says the
same way. All I'll say is she like looks at me and she goes look at this man, and I was like and then she just goes on and talks about like she saw that she saw the video. And then she goes on and talks about like whatever. I just I just but she revealed so much about herself in like a few thoughts and sentences and it really
just struck me. And I was just like this, Yeah, it was just she said things to me that like I will like sort of like hold dear, and like I think like she did like change my life in that moment. And I went up to her, and then and then the night after the show and then yeah, at their after party, got a moment with her and she she just she just like took my face and she just looked into my eyes and then we just had a nice moment where we really said things to
each other and izing I'm just so lucky. I just I can't believe how lucky I was to work with her, just for her also as an actress. The fact that she was like is she done with Gray's Anatomy, the fact that she was like, Okay, this next thing I'm gonna do is going to be killing Eve. I was just like, you are a queen. That is so the last scene because sometimes, like you know, she was on this mess, she probably could have developed something for anything, whatever,
and like that show, that last scene, Jodie incredible. Did see them on the carpet holding hands. Oh no, what a fucking moment. I need to god. But when she won, oh my god. She about her parents to the writer's room after she won, and like so cute they met everybody. I was. I was. I was really emotional all week. It's because of her, And like throughout throughout the joke runs and just throughout the runs of the show, like she'd keep looking at me, like in the audience, she'd
be like wait, how She's like what is this? And I was like, You're doing great. She was great, and I thought the two of them were great. I was really excited about them. And then I was like, yeah, and I liked the like reverse roast in the getting. I thought that was so smart and like, honestly, it was one of those things I was with my girlfriends and we were like, oh, exactly what we need right now, like to be super positive about people, but like you know,
be dumb about it, but be dumb about it. But like it was like no politics, It wasn't trying to be edgy. It was just fun and like it was the two of them like so positive and then like someone was talking to me too. It's like Andy has to a lot of people and he has some BROI vibed him, but it's like, no, he grew up in the Bay Area, like his mother was like the head
of their house. Like he grew up in a very liberal, open minded household where he's just like he does not embody any sort of toxicity in terms of how he carries himself as a person. Like two great people, and he was just being so supportive of her the entire time. Like the two of them got along so well and like and this has all happened because they presented last year right space. I mean at the Emmys and so like, and I think, like the heads of NBC, we're just like, well,
let's just tell the two like it was. That's enough of a shocking moment for everyone to be like a shocking choice for everyone and be like, wait, the two of them, huh. But also it could work like and I feel like it didn't like the there have been like some other random pairings, know, but the fact that it was a seasoned comedy writer and then one of the greatest art yeah actresses of you know alive right now.
I believe she's I believe she's street level. I think she's like she's she's she's so impactful, and I think I agree like they let it just be politically relevant in that it was what it was. You know. There was that speech, that short little moment that she gave at the end where she was like, the reason I wanted to do this was to be part of this
moment of change. And I see you all all your faces of change, and they panned around to the round around the room, and you know, the past few years being the hell escape that they are, Like, you do have to take take some hope in that like we don't allow things like we used to allow things more and I think that the the political aspect of it was just that we allowed it to be what last year. And last year was like more of a morning there was more of like a bereft tone to it, just
in terms of times happened, which was necessarily great. This year, I think they wanted to focus more on, like, we'll look at all these incredible things that have already happened and dependent of anything else, and to let that be a beacon of hope to go forward and that which was so nice, especially after you know, the midterms and we've seen that the face of the face of Congress change,
you know, so all that we love it. I'm so proud of you that the Golden Globes were great, and I just think it's crazy that the whole thing is null and void because Bohemian Rhapsody. Unfortunately, because of that, I don't think. I don't think all go first this time in my pocket and my okay, get it, will go first, get it and we'll go first. Okay minus minus globes related, so let's do it. Okay, this is Bowen's topical Globes related We're going to see how far
he's going to go in this is Bowen Yanks. I don't think so, honey. His time starts now. I don't think so, honey. Myself forbissing both of my things that I was doing in the Golden Globes. Here's what happened. The pepsid bit, I might I thought I was cheating out to the right to the camera, which was on one side the entire time we rehearsed it was on a different side. It didn't catch the full logo. I hate myself that I cut off the pepsid logo and then I started late, and oh my god, I need
to tell you this. After there was a whole fucking hullabaloo around making sure Ken Jong and Michelle Yo sat next to each other. I had talked to Constance who about the whole bit beforehand, and that was the whole fucking experience. She's lovely, she's great. It was just so strong. Well, it was just she was at the table with Gaga and Bradley right there, and I was like, I saw the Valentino right there. As I had to like explain to these movie stars what we were doing. This dumb
bit for not dumb bit. But we were doing this bit for the monologue. I was like, what is this? And then I failed. I failed in some small way, and so I'm beating myself about that, and then I don't think starting myself during the flu shop it, I was supposed to go to Goga to give her the flu shop but she looks we made a context. She went no, and then I had to you see me do a sharp left and I did this and that's one minute. Wait. So so she just literally looked you
in the eyes. So I looked Gogga wasn't so. I. We're walking down the steps. I the producer's Eric Gurian Um, little stranger, wonderful man um the entire time, He's like, you better go for Gaga? Are you going for Gag? I was like, I'm gonna go for Gaga like every gay person's dream to like stick a needle in her and um so I. So I I walked down the steps of the stage and I and I started saying out loud because and then Mike start catching and I
go fake flu shot, fake flu shot. And I look at Gaga and she looks at me and she goes no, no, like terrified. She's like no, genuinely like no, I don't want this. I thought it was real. I mean, there you go. And so I was like, well, I'm not going to I'm not going to explain it to her and like be like, actually, no, you're you're gonna let me do you know? Like insane that I would do that, but I'm so Then I sharp left and you see you catch and I looked like it look like her idiot?
What did that look Dune? It didn't look dumb at all. It looked it looked to me. It looked to me at home like, oh my god, he almost stuck a needle and guy out. And then I couldn't do it, like which was I was gonna? Just I was gonna do? I couldn't keep walking towards her, do you know? Like as soon as she was like well she said no, yeah, like what else am I gonna do? So then I turn and I go flu shot, flu shot? And then Keith Urban's like I'll do one, and I do, and
I get give one to Nicole. Oh my god, the Queen Nicole. And she was just giggling the whole time. She's like it was just and then and then I and then I walked over to the Amazon table or the Homecoming table, which is like Julia Roberts fucking Jeff Bezos is there because she's on homecoming, and I go, flu shot, Mr Bezos and then we do this, Oh my god, He's like I own the world. He's like sure, and I was like, you are the richest. You're really
the richest person on the plane. Yeah. And I would be like thank you, and he was like yes, yes, yes, sure, like just he was game. But I feel like that's how rich people say yes to things. Yes, yes, yes. So that's that's that's some behind the scenes. Wow, I needed that gossip. Thank you for that. Good okaytunately, maybe you know you'll get to poke it. You'll get to stick a needle insap other someday someday. Okay, I have one that's less golden globes really and that it's not
at all Okay, this is Matt Rogers's. I don't think so many time starts now. I don't think so many people doing their hair before they go to the gym. So I've going to the gym, and something I am noticing is that a lot of you guys like are putting full ass product in your hair and styling your hair at I don't think so honey, because like it's like, what are you trying to do? Look good for us here?
Like you already looked like you're in the gym. It's commonly the hottest guys there that have this done, which is like, okay, I had on a hat. But also I mostly don't think so honey. Mostly don't think so honey, because it's a complete waste of product, and me, the son of a Long Island hairdresser, knows the value of products. How dare you? And I'm not talking about a little product. I'm talking about a full side you know, part with like all theild and I feel like it's a totally
reckless use of product. And then you distract me at the gym because you are incredibly hot and I have a full head on as well. So I don't think so honey. You guys, you're not you're not impressing me really, but maybe you are. Maybe I'm like actually sick. The thing is right, like you don't need to do your hair for the gym? No, how about girls in full beat?
Oh god? What's the best? Another is that the gym and the thing I look at that, and as a former sufferer of acne, I'm like, your parts, yeah, oh yeah, they're just sucking themselves over. Those girls are probably like like magical creatures who have never had like you know some people. It's just like that's another thing too, when you sweat your hair product into your hair. I I know from because I used to run track in high school and of course you know that I had My
hair was mostly gel. My head was mostly gel. There was not a long island, it was long island, so gel would run into my run into my forehead, and so that wasn't good for a teenager's that's where exactly. And so like you would think that like these guys who I would imagine have experience with hair gel I see using it now, would know that it's not the wisest idea to wear that at the gym. And also I feel like it's a hack. This is a hack
of Jim. Hack is to wear a beanie at the gym, because then you don't have to clean the machines because you're not sweating on them. But that sounds uncomfortable for you. I like it, that sounds hot. I wear a beanie at the gym. It sounds honestly, it sounds like temperature hot. But then I'm picturing you in a beanie and I'm like, okay, okay, it's a look my gym. Look is my Brooklyn my Brooklyn crab t shirt that I've cut the sleeves off my little black beanie, so I look sorry straight, guys.
The other thing I have to say about Matt looking cute is that this mustache is good. Do you like it? Love it? Learn? What I want to do is bring back eighties gay culture. Yes, that's what it's doing for me. You know. I was like, I was like, well, not hp A, you're so young. Oh my god, he knows what happened. Guys. I wrote stuff down because this is my first time. That's like when you guys do the live show that must not be allowed, they do it some of the best ones. Okay, this is Helen New York.
So I don't think so, honey, her time starts now. I don't think so, honey. Adults who are into disney World. In Disneylands, a two day park copper passes a hundred and seventy four dollars, I don't think so. Honey, I did the math, and that is eight point seven bottles of wine. Okay, I don't think so, honey. You can't get French fries at Disney World. They don't have French fries. You're gonna walk around and be trash. At least let
me eat some fucking French fries. Also, you're electively listening to screaming children and standing in line. I don't think so, honey. You can do that whole food and end up with like fifty bottles of kombucha by the end. And I don't think so, honey. That's a hundred and seventy four dollars for that dumb park copper pass, and you experience all these you're also gonna want a churro, and a churrow is like ten dollars and extra dollars. And I don't think so. It's a small world. It is not
a small world. It is a big world. It takes one like twenty four hours to fly to Australia, which you would know if you saved your money from your stupid park paths and bend it on a trip to Australia. That's one minute. Okay, So points I can address right away. I don't know where you're going that you can't get French fries. You can absolutely, and Disney World can't. They
have a French Friday. The reason I know about this is because before I did this, I was like, I don't want to be mean and I love all but I so I called my manager, who because I have a lot of adult friends that love business. Yes, Russell, it's a fucking epidemic. You adults loves it. He loves it.
He loves it. And like my friend Leslie Margarita, who's a genius, love it and went with her husband and they love a lot of great sane people love okay, stable, But like I asked him and he goes, yeah, did you know that you can't get French fries at Disneyland? I was like what and he goes. And then any who also produces on high maintenance with him, and we all worked. They all worked together. She like looked it up and there's a reason why. But they literally have
a French Friday. I think this is about I literally learned this today when I was like asking permission if I was allowed to be mean about people that adults that good at No, no, no, let me tell you something. Maybe you're right about that, but also, can I say something about the park copper pass? Looked, yes, yes, you can't fight me on the price, and I wouldn't dare point. I will say this though, the two day park copper pass, Yeah, that's a lot of money. The one day parkopper pass
is crazy, way too much money. But if you're planning to go for many days, it actually is very very just then you're going to Disney World many days in a row. Also, I didn't understand like there are I'm ready to fight, Oh my god. Honestly, it's they're like lines on purpose. The lines and the children are only a problem with the Magic Kingdom, which I've discussed on this podcast as being a problematic. And I don't think
they kids at Disney World. But you know what, Helena's Helena's final points, final point, that point, the Australian thing. It's like, sure, but no, this is the thing that I've always believed is that your family going to Disney World for vacation every single year of your fucking life
has held you back from going to different places. Yes, it's like coming to New York and only seeing Phantom of the opera every time he's saying that means you're missing like The Problem, which right now is a great show that everybody should see. I want to go see The Problem. It's very good. But you like the fact that you went to like Paris and you were like, didn't care for I'm like, that's because you went to You grew up going to fucking Orlando your whole life,
Like this is why it's bad. No, I don't agree. I like, well, because you don't agree I didn't care. You're like torturing yourself through running twenties six miles through it. You didn't care for Harris. Fuck, I didn't care for Paris either, Well you know what I mean, like Matt, First, I think we don't know what you mean. Matt. You well, like, but I liked other things like Rome in Berlin. I said what European city I loved and I would die for?
And I would die for literally every single person there. They're all my sisters, brush the seven people in British Bruige. It's like such a that's maybe the best one syllable world Brish British going to British the best phonetic you you have to go to we're going to Tokyo dying. Max went to Tokyo, my one of my best fan, Maxwell Jenkins, who he went last minute. I was going to go with him and like I need money, but
oh my god, it looks amazing. And then they're Kyoto outside of where I really and all the l A. Gates just went to Um. Yeah, to Tokyo and Kyoto. Um. But there's I mean, we're going to go to the Disneyland in the Disney State. But there's a Disney Sea there. It's a water park, water theme, it's not a water park. Why would you go all the way there and spend time to no Disney Sea in America? Oh my god, but there's the sea. You have to be able to
look forward and enthusiastically approach other cultural activities. You have to do that. I'm going to make this a thing in the other two family. I know when Drew Tarver walks his Georgia Barn trash ass in here, he is going to say that he likes the Walt Disney World. I don't think so. I think we've had this conversation before because, by the way, the other thing that I love about dream and listen to say this one Drew.
Drew was like, right after Thanksgiving, he calls me up and he's like, um, I'll rolling in a new couch on it that is and he really leans into it. And I was like, you've been around your family Ali down to Disney World. They grown up? Actually no, but the that family goes on interesting trips. Recently they went skiing in Colorado. They like they go on trips, and they rent cars in Mexico. They like drive when they go, and they say they do like legit trips. And then
you guys are gonna hear all the story. I'm we have to go on Seth Meyers and I'm like, I can't stand up next to those Tarver stories. You guys will be so good. And then christ and Sarah are going on this month. I think on the twenties second, don't like Disney. Um, but this has been truly tremendous. I need and literally no, I'm so happy to have hung out with you because now I know that we're all going to do cell Cycle together and I can't
wait to take it to Disney World. I would go for that dumb race, especially with like you guys, I'm like, okay, I do it's fun and we go on edibles and we we we like have a great time. It's fun. See, I mean we're convincing it, so we're not we're not children about it. Yes, it's a full child's activity. We've been through this, but we love it. But we love it and we love Helena, we love the other two. Please watch it truly, truly, truly, I mean we're we're not.
