I'm your host, Greg Amortis, calling in for North Caggy Lackey. That's North Carolina to all you northerners, and it is time. It is time. It is episode 409 of LOTC Talk. 10 horror movies of 2024. This is what you've all been waiting for. This is what we have built the whole year for is this episode. The year of 2024 is in this episode. What is entailed? It is the crew's top tens. And that's what we're going to do tonight. We're super excited. If you're new to the show, thank you for tuning in.

Hope you'll enjoy this one. This is an out of cycle bonus episode just to get our top tens out. And then we'll be back to regular schedule. So we're super excited. So let's go without further ado. head outside of philadelphia pa and welcome in the shockster himself dave dr shop becker and uh let's welcome in the encyclopedia of knowledge himself what's up sir well thank you greg for that very uh

Messed up. Choppy introductions. I appreciate it. I was trying to be a shopster. This is the show you're built to. for the for the whole year and and you know you you watch you're watching 2024 movies throughout the year and you get a couple in april may whatever and you carry forward and then you watch a bunch in october and you get the list and you see oh this one's

this person's recommending this one and this one's recommending that one. And Oh, this one just recommended these 10 movies. By the time you realize that you have about 40 to watch, it's a beginning of December. That's pretty much how you end your years, just cramming in as many of these year-end movies or these yearly movies as you can just to make sure your list is as representative as possible.

Some people have seen 70, 80, 100. I think I've seen the core 50 that will appear on most people's list. I'm sure there are some out there who are going to have some obscure films that I will not have seen, and that's life. That's just what they say. But I think I got to, I think my final, I think was 55 and I got to like the core 55 films that I wanted to see the ones that I really wanted to check out. Plus some that I just happened upon.

yeah i'm right there with you and that's the thing like i think which we'll go over what we've seen and everything as we give out our list. And we'll do honorable mentions too, guys, I think at the end. But like Dave said, I mean, this is one of those where you build and – here at lotc we run it a little different because we do a lot of older stuff so we don't get to do episodes where we're watching a lot of new movies

So we have to do what we're doing for the podcast, and then we try to cram in off weeks, you know, new movies. So, you know, if we were kind of like Jay and the Dead's new horror movies where we do only new horror movies, then we'd be like, great all year, Dave. We'd be like just rolling in the house, but we'd do it a little backwards.

all the older stuff. I put these guys through hell. I put the crew through hell trying to watch old movies instead of new movies, but it is what it is. We love it. They're not so old. They're the ones that we sort of grew up with, so it's not the end of the world, but hey. This is true.

But it's good to have you here. We cannot wait to get into our list, man. This is going to be great. This is going to be a lot of fun. Agreed. Well, let's head over to Canada, and we've got to welcome in the butcher of butchery. Because I'm really excited that a guinea pig movie will probably make the list this year. I'm always excited. I'm always eager to see.

If American guinea pig come out with one in the same year, because we know if it did, Bill's going to put it on there and I love it, but it's Bill, the butcher band. What's up, Bill? Hey everybody. Happy 2025. I hope everybody's starting the year off. Well, I like Dave. I think I saw in the low 60s. I might have seen 62, 63 films, that kind of thing. But there was only one film I didn't get to see that I wanted to, that time is not always my friend.

i i plan to watch it and i'm glad uh people will probably bring it up in their phone calls because we'll get to discuss it but this is one of those things where I know a lot of people sit and they ponder and they say, Bill, you know, I took three or four different versions of my list. I did my list in five minutes. I don't overthink it because when you overthink it, you kind of. Paralysize yourself. Analysis by paralysis. Paralysis by analysis. Overthink it. Just give what you think and go.

I have been formulating my list as I was watching. So by the time it got to finalizing it, it's just, okay, am I happy with this? Boom, boom, boom. I think I made one change, and that was it. I changed one. I had my list done pretty much before the end of the year. I had one more movie to watch to see if it would crack my list. But that was it.

Yeah, same. I watched one last night that was recommended by Dave Z. Shout out to Dave Z. Watched it, really enjoyed it, but it didn't make my list. I won't name that title, at least not during the top 10. But anyways, so I squeezed that in. movies to the date so I checked out 56 and so it is what it is so Good to have Bill on. Can't wait. Now let's welcome in the Twisted Temptress herself, the love of my wife, the queen of horror, the natural disaster of mayhem.

It's the sweet candy girl. What's up, love? Natural disaster to sweet. The natural disaster of mayhem. That would be a cool shirt. Natural disaster of mayhem. That just describes you to a team. She brings the mayhem with her. I'm telling you. What's up, love? Hey, everybody. I made my list over eating a hamburger. She did. Well, that was every bite I took. I was like, okay, I know which one.

So if it's not to what y'all like, it's because she was under meat delirium. Yes. I needed a pick-me-up because... Or else I'd be still doing it right now. But how many movies do you check out this year? Because you were the most. You had the most of us. Yeah, I count it. I've seen about 101. But... More than half of them, I should say, are to be more than half of them. You said, why did I bother watching? That's where exactly where I went. Like, oh, OK.

Cross it off. Okay, I watched it. I'm done. No more. Yeah. The funny thing is that you watched Face Off probably 101 times itself this year. Well... You know what? Now, I'm not exaggerating. We're not talking non-horror. I'm not exaggerating either. He's not. Unfortunately, like I posted on the group page, Pluto loves me. Like, there's like...

I change the channel, one's done, and one more comes out, so I watch it, and then later it comes on again, I watch it, and then I'm like, oh, guess what? It's on again. Let me watch it. She goes from, like, face-off to labyrinth to... What's the other ones you've been watching? Urban Cowboy? Urban Cowboy's gone, unfortunately, so they exchanged it with Get Cool and Get Shorty. No, Be Cool and Get Shorty. Get Short, all those two movies. Okay, cool. Yeah, so the Pulp Fiction's on there.

Face Off and Saturday Night Fever. So this whole week of John Tarot to film watching, I would say I watched... His movie is about 42 times winning that. There's one that I saw and I've never seen it. And I was going to ask if you'd seen it, Pearl, the love song for Bobby Long. Yeah, that was sad. Okay, but that is a Travolta one as well. Yes. He's not overly, overly in that one, but he is in it. Now, is Bobby's song, is that the... No, I was like in the Sayers movie. Never mind.

Never mind. Something totally different. I was thinking, what was the Sarah's movie with... Brian's song. That's what I was saying. That's a tearjerker too, boy. Brian Piccolo. Brian Piccolo, yeah. That is a tearjerker. I think that was James Caan and Billy Dee Williams. It was.

god i do not recommend watching that if you're in a bad mood or in a sad mood because oh great movie though no i just want to say i'm super excited i'm ready to get on the roll and i also want a quick shout out to all the firefighters and the people from Mexico and everyone that came to do something, you know, to help the California fires. Yep. And praying for them and hopefully everything gets better and, you know.

Hope they find shelters and everything that they need to do. And hopefully everyone unites. Stops pointing fingers at one another and just helps with their heart. That's right. Help the firefighters and help the people that's lost their homes for sure. I do want to mention we will have a giveaway at the end of this episode. I'm not going to name the person because they They wanted to stay anonymous, but a certain individual has offered up a poster for the giveaway tonight.

In this poster, I sent Bill and Dave and Pearl the image of it, and it's really cool. We determined it's from My Bloody Valentine, okay? So the reason we're doing the actual giveaway tonight is because he won't... he whoops well we know it's a he now but anyways he wanted this poster to be given out as a valentine's gift kind of deal make sure they had it before valentine's okay So the poster being given away is from Scream Factory. When you buy...

Dave, I know you know when you buy certain Blu-rays from them, especially pre-order. Yes, you get the fold-out poster, yes. Yes, and one of the posters given away, and the only poster given away tonight, is My Bloody Valentine, and we determined it is from 1981. It's a really cool miner's head with a pickaxe and a girl in the image of the – Like it reflected in the goggles. Yes, in the goggles. Really, really awesome. So that's giving away tonight. And you say, what did I do to win this?

You called in. That's right. So if you called in, if you called in, you're in the drawing. And here's the only stipulation that was given to us. You have to be in the United States only because this individual is shipping it. Shipping can be very pricey. So you have to be in the United States. And the other stipulation is you have to have a physical address, not a post office box, okay? Because these posters, post office box turns into a nightmare.

so you have to have a physical address so i think what we'll do pearl is draw two names and we'll only announce the winner and if that winner is a post office box then

we will go to the backup winner that I will not mention, but we'll have two names. And if that person has, you know what I mean? So that way we'll make sure we have somebody that doesn't have a post office. Does that sound fair? Yeah. I think it sounds fair. So anyways, that's what we're going to do. And I want to give a shout out.

to you you know who you are that has the poster and i appreciate it and like i said they're shipping it so it'll be given out really quick he said he'd do it super fast and tracking number and all that good stuff so uh if your name is drawn we'll get in touch with you and let you know you won and we'll get that

or he will get that out to you. So thank you for offering that poster. It's really cool. So anyways, we're here for top 10. We're here for the 2024 horror, and we're going to do our shots first. I am still drinking because I'm still lazy as hell and have not got to the liquor store and got my Jim Beam and Honey. And I know there are probably...

They're probably about ready to go bankrupt, guys. They're probably like, shit, Greg ain't bought no damn money. Yeah, that's what they're saying. Sales have really dipped in North Carolina. Well, hey, if you started sponsoring me like you should, then we'll talk. That's true. And this new one is.

sponsoring you aren't they i wish oh wait yeah yeah yeah jim beam they are they're sponsoring me wink wink uh but anyways it's that good old smoky gatlinburg tennessee salty caramel whiskey so that's what we're drinking on and uh so in the LOTC forehead shot glass, which I got to give a shout out to Pearl because she put up a new image.

For t-shirt and all that, it's over on the store page. I saw that. It looks great. Oh, it's so freaking cool. Go to landthecreeps.blogspot.com, right side of the column. You'll see store. Click it. Click it again. It takes you to the store. You'll see the new image. Get you a shirt. They're on sale right now. Bam. Boom. Get you some stuff. So, anyways, that's what I'm drinking. I'm drinking out. Dave, what you drinking on?

You know, tonight, just to stay sharp, I'm doing just water. I did actually get a whole new box of Jamaican Me Crazy. I have not broken it open yet. I still had some leftover from the previous box, though. But I am just doing water. I want to stay sharp tonight for this top 10. Hell yeah. Whereas on any other show, I don't give a shit. Dave's Dave. I love it. Cool. Good on the water. All right, Bill, what you drinking tonight?

Well, tonight I've got something special. This is an episode that everybody looks forward to. As I explained before, I put so much research into the finality of my list. I wanted to celebrate it. So I grabbed for the, not for the first time I've ever had it, but for the first time on this show, I was showing the people. It's a THC cannabis infused strawberry lemonade.

You're going to be so mellow here in a little while. You're going to be like, chill. So it's called Ray's Lemonade Strawberry. Okay. It's not that strong. It's only 10% THC. No big deal. That's nothing to build. I will sip away on it. I also do have my monster. It's called Ultra Paradise. I love the can. I know. Nice. It's like bright green kind of deal. If there are people at the airport, you're waving planes in. That's the color. They're waving monster drinks.

But yeah, so I got some little extra lubrication, so let's get this party started. It's funny, I'm going in one direction, Bill's going in the other. He's going totally opposite. Let's see if Pearl brings it home. Real quick, Bill, I've seen some of them can go to 70%. Have you ever tried one of the 70%? I would love to. My tolerance is very high.

Okay. Yeah, I mean, I had one last night. It was 45% infused, one gram. Sat back, came back, watched the Habs. They lost in overtime. I thought you were going to say you woke up... at a Greyhound bus station wearing a dress with a one-way ticket. Nothing like that. Like the Blues Brothers. God gives people special skills. Mine is high THC. I love it.

Which is perfectly legal, so Bill can do that. Yeah, it's completely legal here. I don't know whatever state you're listening to. That's right, so Bill has no problem. All right, Pearl. What are we drinking on? Let's bring it home. Let's see if you broke the habit. Well for this occasion, I have extra creamy cream soda. Cream Soda from A&W. A&W Cream Soda. A&W Cream Soda. A&W is my favorite root beer. Yeah, I love that. And also, too, bless him.

Seriously, bless him. Because I want to give a shout out to Kyle and his family for sending a goodie pack. You know what? I didn't get the candy goodie pack, but I got the stickers. I got a very beautiful card from Kyle and some stickers. So that was awesome. I got an amazing package. The other day I was... sitting i came home from work and i looked on my uh you know my steps there's a package and ella goes daddy there's a package for you i'm like i didn't order it i'm telling you it's not me

And so I pick it up and I've got an amazing 10 pack of squirty juice. Ooh. Very cool. I've got like three months worth. So that's awesome, Kyle. Thank you very much. It was starting to feel kind of bad. He didn't send me anything, but you know what? I guess he was. thinking of me as a boozer, and you can't really send booze through the mail and have it sitting on the doorstep. No. Well, didn't he want to send you the Jamaican? Oh, no, I'm very sorry.

I take that back. He sent me coffee. Yes, he did. And one of them was Jamaican Me Crazy. Yep. I take that back. He did send me a package. Yeah, he sent me some coffee, and that was awesome. And one of them was actually a booze. So this is Kyle Bishop. We're talking about Dr. Walking Dead and Pearl. What else did he give you? What was in that sweetie package you got? He gave me that. If you don't hear that, that's clearly her pop rocks popping. Oh, you hear it.

Oh, God, that one sounded tough. God, dang. So she is drinking or drinking. She is eating those Pop Rocks there. Didn't Mikey from the Life Zero commercials eat some of that and drink some soda and his stomach exploded? Yes, I just thought of that. Sorry. But you're drinking R-A-N-W root beer cream soda. I don't think that's soda, right? I don't know. Maybe it will.

If I look over here and I see her, you know what happened. I'm like, damn, there's candy everywhere. Just don't hit the TV. Although I'm thinking that might be an urban legend. It might be. You never know my look. Just as long as you don't put it on the TV or on my Russ Myers. I'll turn to your wrestling. Yeah, not the wrestling. Don't hit the Russ Meyers. Seven Blu-rays we got or the book. Okay, so let's just keep it.

Especially not those Russ Meyer ones. My God, those are almost priceless. Oh my God, I love it. Yeah, stay tuned because there is a video that we just uploaded. It'll be uploaded on YouTube as we're recording. So I do a review of the three. Does Russ Meyers film come with an inflatable doll? No, but you...

One from Russ's private collection. They're so good. These movies are so good. I'm telling you. Watch the video. It's over on YouTube. If you don't follow it, go to atlanticreats.blogspot.com and look at the show notes and click my YouTube channel and you'll watch the video.

You know what? You'd be that person. What if he would have said, like, in the personal collection, there's, like, Unplayable Dell, and the first thing you do, because you never look at stuff, right? You just get excited, and you open stuff. Yeah, open stuff. Greg's running around, I can clone Russ Meyer!

No, but like seriously, what if you open it and you're like, why is this so sticky? Because you don't know what it is and you're like trying to open it. Yeah. Trying to blow it up. It would only be sticky in certain areas. Yeah. It depends on which areas you're checking. Let's get these shots down. We'll count it down. Three, two, one. Oh, God.

Wow, that's some water there. I'm starting to regret my choice. Greg and Mortis need some Jim Beam and Honey bad. It's got some nice tang to it. I like that. Oh, cool. I'm going to tell you this. Salty caramel is very salty. It's very... Anyway, it's top ten. I didn't explode yet. Pearl hasn't exploded yet, so it's fine. I do want to mention all you that called in tonight. after our top tens we will start playing your top tens i'm super excited we've got several calls to get to

Uh, so we'll play them at the end of the show and we'll be responding and we cannot wait. We've got lots of calls. Uh, and you, if you're in the United States and got a home address, not a post office box, you're in the drawing. So there you go.

Good luck to whoever wins. And you never know. Some people probably have a lot of ties or something. Maybe. Yeah. You never know. So there you go. All right. So let's get into our top tens. I'm super excited. This is what we've all waited for all year. And it's been.

I will go ahead and say it, and I know everybody will probably say the same thing, but I'm going to go ahead and be the first one to mention this. What a great fucking year of horror movies. Amazing. This is the first year I have a top 20. I could have done a top 20. and i would have been happy with all of my choices i love it dave same with you bill you had a good year it was a good year but you'll notice something really apparent in my top 10 list okay and that's

I went with 10 horror movies that when you watch it, you know it's a horror movie. Okay. I'm not like... I'm kind of ridding myself of all these arty house films or the ones where you got to interpret a killer is the same as, you know, the repression of feminism or some, you know, and I'm not against people, you know, using.

uh movies for their vision yeah but i want a movie if i'm sitting down for 90 minutes i want a horror movie i don't want to wait to hour to minute 60 to figure out that it's a horror movie Fair enough. So all the movies in my list, they're not period pieces. They're not something that's a metaphor for something. It's not arthouse style. Minor horror. Okay. That's fair enough.

That's kind of my going this year. I know there's a lot of really good ones, but I found a lot this year. I had to sit there and go, okay, what's this mean? What's going on here? Why is it taking... So if I knew it was a horror movie...

It was up for me. But in terms of quality this year, I really liked the year. I did. What about you, Pearl? It being a good year, it took me all over the place because, I mean, there were a lot of foreign hitters. There were a lot of like... obviously some from canada and stuff like that i mean it was a great year but i was more impressed with the fact of like it was such a strong year for women

A lot of the women picked up horror for this year. So good. Absolutely. So good. I agree with you on that. So we're going to do this round robin style like we normally do. We're going to go down from 10 to 1. Our order tonight will be Dave, and then we'll go to Bill, then we'll go to Pearl, and then we'll end up with myself. And that's how we'll roll with it. So from 10 to 1, that's how you'll get our list.

And I'm super excited. So without further ado, let's just go ahead and get into this. Let's get what we're here for and go ahead and head over to you, Dr. Shock. What is number 10? All right. My number 10 is actually I'm going to give some credit to Mr. Bill VanVegel for this pick. I came in at number 10. I was really blown away by it. We had a couple movies. that were found footage this year but the one that uh made my list is milk and cereal from writer director curry barker nice

What I liked about this one is it's, you know, it's about pranks. These guys have this YouTube channel or, you know, some sort of, I guess, YouTube where they're pranking each other. And they do these pranks. And Curry Barker, the Reddit director, also stars in it. And he plays the character of Milk, is what his character's name is. And he's a roommate of Seven, played by Cooper Tomlinson.

And it's his birthday party. And they pull, you know, Seven pulls a prank on him. And something goes really wrong with this prank. Or it seemingly goes really, really wrong with this prank. But then you learn that there were actually tables being turned. But the reason why the tables were being turned by one character on the other, you're like, holy Christ, I didn't see that coming. And then you're just on the edge of your seat.

And what's really great about this is that it gets all this accomplished in 62 minutes. This is a 62-minute movie. And I was really, really impressed with it.

I know what you're talking about. I can't remember what it is. I didn't get to see it, but I know exactly. That one was, oh, Life of Bell. Yeah. Life of Bell. That one was on... you know my top 10 for a while i'll be honest with you i wasn't that impressed with it but for me it is absolutely number 10 milk and cereal nice good choice i have not seen it so i will definitely have to check that one out so bill

Number 10. My number 10 is one with a bit of pearl in my heart here. This is a film directed by Stephen C. Miller called Werewolves. Oh, nice. with Frankie Grillo, who I consider one of the most underrated... Is it appropriate to call them action stars anymore? Do they have such things? I'll call that. Yeah, I would go with that. Yeah, absolutely. They're action stars. Yeah. Yeah. And I mean, the thing I like about this one is leave your brain at the door. Just watch.

It's like a mad scientist action survival film about scientific mutations, turning people into werewolves. and what is it every couple it only happens every x amount of years it's got a bit of a feel of the purge because this one night they're all coming out And the scientists, a nice cameo by Lou Diamond Phillips in this one. It's got action, it's got some effects, some practical, some CGI, but they're all pretty well done. Cool looking werewolves. You know where the story's going.

But you just want to see how it acts out. It plays out. You don't have to think too much. It's just a sit down, grab your popcorn and enjoy yourself. And it held me for the whole 92 minutes or whatever it is. So Werewolves is my number 10. Yeah, I think we determined, Pearl, it's every supermoon, and I think there's two to four every year. So two to four times a year that this supermoon happens, which would be...

what would cause these werewolves. And I'm with you, Bill, on the werewolf transformations look great, man. Great practical effects. They're fun. Yeah. This is one I did not get to see, so I'm anxious to check that out. And I know you'd seen it, Greg. I remember seeing you post about it in the group.

and I'm anxious to see it. And what I like about Frank Grillo is he kind of accepts who he is, and he just plays off that. Yeah, he's like a – what would you call him? I don't want to call him Arnold Schwarzenegger. He's not Arnold Schwarzenegger, but he definitely knows his – I don't mean to insult him, but maybe like a Steven Seagal or a Dolph Lundgren. Or Bruce Willis. They know where they're at. They know where they're good at. He's good at playing a

an action detective star. Bruce Willis and Arnold try different things sometimes. Bruce Willis and Arnold try different things. Like Dolph Lundgren, he's going to be in an action movie. Sure. I was going to say, is this a Sly Stallone, Frank Stallone situation? Could be. But, I mean, he's good at what he does. Like, he really, when you look at the purges and you look at the movies that he's been in, I think, was he in?

He was in Cloverfield as well, wasn't he? I know he was in The Purges, but anyways. Everything he's been in, he's really good at being that action guy. And I like that. He looked great in this movie. He's ripped. He's kind of like the other one like that, like Dave Bautista. Yeah, he's like the newer Bautista. Yeah, you're right.

Yeah, I like Frank Grillo, man. Great actor. Cool. Werewolves for Bill from number 10. And as I get all warm and fuzzy because this drink's kicking in and I feel woozy, let's go to Pearl. Number 10. I'll start talking slowly. Number 10. If I pass out, I'll let Pearl take over. Go ahead, Pearl. Well, my number 10 is horror drama.

It is actually a remake of a certain Dutch movie. Yes. Dream Holiday turns into a living nightmare when an American couple and their daughters spend a weekend at a British family's... country estate not knowing what's going to happen it goes crazy from a to z quick This is Speak No Evil 2024, of course. I might be ruined a bit here because I didn't see the original, but I did see this one. Go ahead, Pearl. I'm sorry.

oh no it's fine no actually you know what i love i didn't want to see this at first i'd be honest we didn't we avoided this yeah because the first one i still feel is really more brutal to me it feels more sadistic Dark. Darker and more like, but I nipped it in the bud. I watched it. Kind of liked it. I'm like, still skeptical. Gave it a second watch.

it grew on me and then i gave it a third watch i'm like you know what the main actor he he did really good james mcavoy yeah yeah he he perfectly did shot to shot really good and gave it even his own like sadistic flavor as well. So I'm like, yeah, I like it. He was in Split, right?

Yes. Yes, he was. He was the main guy in Split, which was phenomenal. Phenomenal. Playing like three characters or whatever. Playing even more than three. He played a number of characters, even at the end where he was that beast. It was pretty amazing. This is the one film that I wanted to get to that I didn't get the chance to. Okay. I recommend it. I mean, I suppose it could alter my list. Yeah, it's weird because it was that movie that...

that took me by surprise a little bit because Pearl and I did avoid this one. We didn't go to theater. We were like, no, why watch it? Because we've already seen it. But then again, it's kind of in that same ballpark, guys, of like let the right one in.

and let them in you know what i mean it's like why redo it into american but then the american version of that movie was actually really good but it was funny though it was yeah we had in that case i'm glad i saw let the right one in first and i feel a little bad that i didn't see the original here first yeah because now i'm going

to know the story and i've heard i've heard people just rave about the original and how much they love it and how much they like this one that was the same case with let the right one in and let let let her in or let me let her in yeah let me um you know was it let her in Let me in. Or let her in. Let me in would make more sense. Yeah. Not let her in. But in this case, I feel kind of bad about that. But I, you know, I kept waiting for the.

Without knowing the story, I kept waiting, you know, for something to happen. I said, I know something's going to happen. I don't see where this is going. I don't see it. And then all of a sudden, bam, it's right on top of you. You're like, whoa. So I was impressed with that. So I did enjoy it as well. James McAvoy, I think, is a very underrated actor. I mean, I don't think I've seen him.

bad in anything personally maybe he has been and i haven't seen it but i think he's been pretty great he's phenomenal in this one but what was you gonna say pro oh i was gonna say i think the reason we also stepped off of it because a month prior i don't remember for what podcast but we had watched the dutch one and then when we went to the movies you know to see something else we saw the trailer yeah and we noticed that they showed so much in the trailer that it was shot

By shot, by shot. Right, right. So we were like, why? Yeah. Like, why? Yeah. Now I get it. I'm starting to understand more. Sorry, sorry for the people in the group page where they're like, don't watch the trailer. So I'm like, well.

Curious. Don't watch the trailers. We try to do that, Dave. We do. We try to avoid all trailers. We saw this one in the theater, and like Pearl said, we did look at it and say, why are we even going to watch it? Because it did look shocking. But they did change it some. So I will give them credit. It is a little different.

If you've seen the original, this one does change up a little bit. But that's what was nice because it was the surprising part that what they didn't show is what was there. I know what's doing it. It's the Werther's original. What? The Werther's original, the extra caramel, is making me high as fuck right now. I'm just kidding.

That's so sorry. Well, I was wondering why you're looking that way and not looking at me. I know. I can't even see you. You're looking that way. I'm like, what are you doing? Look at the one in the middle. It's all good. The one in the middle. The one in the middle. I think Bill slipped me some THC over here. I feel good. It may be affecting you, not me.

By the time we get to number four, Greg and Slappy are going to be having a conversation. Greg and Slappy is right behind me. I'm drinking lots of water, guys. I got you. I got you. It's dark in here, though. It's getting dark and fuzzy, but we're all good. All right, well, cool. We'll speak no evil for Pearl number 10. Let's go to my number.

10 and my number 10 oh my god two hours and five minutes long it is a trilogy guys and it is damien leone's terrifier 3 art the clown as santa claus oh yes uh this is a slasher splatter horror it says supernatural teen horror dark comedy whatever you want to call it's a bunch of all these things but it's another story of art to clown and i really enjoyed this one i think the Gore is not as great as number two. I think the Gore number two is way...

More intense. It's a lot more. But this one still has enough gore. I still like art. And who can't like art in Santa Claus suit, right? It's a Christmas horror. And art does really well. He's still cool is what he does. I'm kind of, I know there's a fourth one slated to be out in 2026. I'm going to be honest, guys. I'm almost done with art. I'm like, okay, we got three really good films. Let's just end it. Let's go ahead and stop it here.

As much as I love art, and I've told y'all I would almost put him up there with almost the Mount Rushmores of slasher horrors now because he's that damn strong, I'm almost going to be saying this that I feel like we're almost going to get too much of him now.

So I'm almost to the point. Let's stop at three, but we're getting four. We'll see where they go. But I really enjoyed this one. I thought it was really good. The cast was really strong in this one. The gore that was there was really good. You got a cameo by Chris Jericho that was hilarious. I loved it. And it's just really good. And you got the returning cast of some of them. You got Sienna played by Lauren Lavera.

who's back and of course Elliot Fulham who's the son or the brother Jonathan's back so you got a few of the cast members coming back and it's kind of that continuation now if you've seen Terrifier 2 And you saw that ending, and I won't spoil that if you've not seen it, but you saw some miraculous, weird ending, right? And you're like, how are they going to continue this story?

And they show it number three to an extent. And then we have the story. So anyways, Terrifier 3 for me. And I want to give a big, huge, huge shout out to Jason Dragon. Dave, you know Jason Dragon over on Twitter. Absolutely. And Jay had mentioned in the group chat he had sent the 4K.

to Jay and Jay doesn't really care for this movie. Spoiler. He's not going to be on Jay's list. That's right. I don't think that's really a spoiler. That's not a spoiler at all. What does Paul Heyman say? That's not a spoiler. That's a... Oh, shoot. That's a... Oh, wait. No, he says this is not something. He says this is a spoiler. Well, this is a spoiler. It won't be on Jay's list, so there you go. But he said in our group chat that we got Dave, he's like, anybody...

who loves Terrifier 3 and wants 4K. So I'm like, fuck yeah. Hey, my hand's up. And Jay sent it to me. So Jason Dragon, thank you, my friend. Through Jay. I've got the Terrifier 4K. I love it. I had gotten this as a gift from my son for Christmas. He bought me the Blu-ray, actually, of Terrifier 3. And this is the one I just watched. I'm talking I watched this one today. Okay.

This was my last watch. Nice. And I would really, I really liked it. I mean, and you're saying, you know, maybe I don't remember part two because the gore in this is pretty goddamn gnarly. I mean, this is a really crazy gore in this movie. And it just it just keeps going and going and going. A couple of things that I noticed that opening with the family. that's sort of outside the story at Christmas with Art the Clown there and what happens to them.

It almost felt like Damien Leone's middle finger to everybody who got on Silent Night, Deadly Night back in the day. Yes. It's like he was given the middle finger saying, oh, you didn't like that? What do you think of this? He's like, I'm looking at you, Siskel and Ebert. What would you make of this? And all you parents who were afraid about Santa being painted. He's like, take a look at what I'm going to do now.

And that's the feeling I got, especially when you think of the first victim in that scene. That's right. Yeah. And I like how they kept the characters in this. I liked how you cared about those main characters just like you did in the second one. And I was afraid this was over two hours. And I'm like, that's going to be too long. But you know what? It wasn't. It really wasn't too long. It was almost too long.

Well, it's equivalent to the second one. It almost had a little too much in here, but not quite. And I saw nods to, obviously, Black Christmas at one point with a rocking chair. I saw nods to pieces with a shower scene. Now, the scene that's the nod to Black Christmas, I also felt a nod to Amityville.

Oh, yes. Looking out the window. Yes. Oh, you can see that. Yeah, I guess you could see that. I was thinking more along the lines like the slashers is what I was looking at. But yeah, I can see that being the Amityville as well. And the thing with Art the Clown, you're talking about like him being a new icon. What makes him so interesting is you get the quiet killer. He never talks. You get Michael and Jason. You get the fact that he can't, you know, he seemingly can't be killed.

But then you also get Freddy because he's funny. he's making all these funny gestures he's got that grin and like the the scene where the girl like that like he's listening the guy says i think you i think you want to have sex with art the clown and and he sort of perks up and it's like oh art the clown is amazing And he's, oh, shucks. You know, like he's making these gestures that are funny. So you get the quiet killer and you get Freddy without saying anything.

yeah so there's there's that humor in it this is almost like just a blend this is like a throwing slashes into a blender hitting hitting puree and and seeing what it comes up with sure and yet still giving you main characters that you care about and you root for as much as I like art the clown what's different here is you're not rooting for art the clown at least I wasn't once in this movie no

I did not want some of these characters to die. Yeah, I think that's the difference because usually us horror fans are rooting for Michael. We're rooting for Jason. We're rooting. In these, I do kind of root for the victims more than I do root for art. Although Art's cool, he's fun, whatever. But I'm not really saying, ooh, Art, because you do care about the daughter and the brother. Even though the brother, I will say, yeah. I'm still not as sold on Elliot.

I'm not going to say as an actor. I know he's acting and everything. I'm not saying anything. If you're listening, man, I don't want to put you down at all. I'm not doing that. But it's the character. The brother? The brother. The character itself, I'm a little still off on a little bit. I don't know why. I think there's more than one reason why we're going to get a Terrifier 4 because there's a few... They didn't quite tie up. Right. Right. I agree with you.

And that's where four. And I think his is one of them. Yep. And I don't think five's on slate. And I really think Damien, if I'm reading right, Damien is kind of going to end at four. So we'll see. We'll see. Now, if number four makes $200 million, Don't think for a minute Damien's over. Yeah, don't think Jason's final chapter ever ended. Just saying. Yeah, exactly. If this is Ark the Clown, the final chapter, or Terrifier 4, the final chapter,

Oh, sit back for about 18 months, and then I think you'll see another five. Especially if it blows up at the box. The thing I heard about Terrifier 3 was that Lyon was approached by... money people to do the number three with more budget. He definitely had more budget. But if he did it with a major studio, they would interfere too much with his creative process. Yeah. They would want to limit...

I think a major studio wants to get involved. But you know what? I wouldn't let him. I would just keep doing what you're doing at this point. That first 10 minutes would not be allowed under Warner Brothers. No. Not at all. What about this? It would not be allowed at all. What about us being right now, being able to see Terrifier 3 in the theater? And they even did a rerun. This 10 years ago would have never happened. We would have not had a Terrifier 3 playing in the theater.

Exactly. We're in a good time right now. And if this was Silent Night, Deadly Night, which was one of the ones that really had the MPAA crackdown, if this was that movie... They might have banned slashers. We might not have seen another one. Go ahead, Pearl. Now, I was thinking, because I remember he posted a teaser of possible Terrifier 4. of art in a easter costume right we'll see and he has said he said jokingly he said but not far-fetched from it being in his mind that he said that he

Might want to attack every holiday there is and terrify people. That would be cool. We don't have many Easter horror, so let's get us a rabid bunny. We don't have much Easter horror. It would be very interesting to see Art the Clown in a leprechaun outfit. All right. Yeah, my lady. Maybe we get arched.

I can imagine what he would do with fireworks on the 4th of July. Oh, God. I love it. That'd be like a great kill scene. That would be. Well, number 10 for me, once again, Terrifier 3. So let's head over to Dr. Shock. Dave, what is number 9? All right. Number nine. And this is one that Bill was talking to when I was first watching it. It was not striking me as horror, but then it goes horror really quick. Now it's a small little film.

and it's one that in most years it's one i would have like said oh i enjoy it but it wouldn't make my list wouldn't have made my list the problem was i just couldn't get it out of my mind i couldn't get this story out of my mind and then I'm like, you know what? I got to put it on there. And I knew it wasn't going to be high on the list, but I got to mention it just because of and it's one that was I saw this. This might have been one of the first 15 that I saw 10 or 15 that I saw.

And it is writer-director John Rosman's New Life. And it's about a woman. She's on the run. We don't know why. There's this person who has been hired by this organization to track this woman down. And it's another woman and the one who's tracking her down. The tracker ends up like she's actually dying. And you get these two stories that sort of come together. Now, what I couldn't get out of my mind about this is this this main character played by.

I'm going to say it's... Sonia Walger. Well, Sonia Walger, I'm trying to think. Was she the track? That's what I'm trying to remember. I didn't get the cast written down. I'm trying to remember which one... I think Sonya Walker might have been... Elsa is the agent. Elsa is the agent. Yeah, Jess is on the run. So I'm talking Haley Aaron. Okay.

who was the girl on the run, Jessica Murdoch, you're following her story. And that's why it sort of feels like it's almost like a thrill for a while. You're following her story and you're kind of rooting for her. You're like, what are these people after her for? It seems like a shady organization that's after her. Not so much the Elsa Grey character, but they're keeping Elsa Grey in the dark. They're not giving her all the details of what's going on.

So you're kind of rooting for Jessica Murdoch. And then, boom, something happens. You know, where you go from, oh, you know what? Oh, don't go there. There's a camera. They might be able to track you. You're not going to get away if you go there. Yeah, go into the woods. They won't be able to follow you there.

Find this woman. Find her now. Put her away. You turn on the character 180 like that. But what's really cool, and that's happened in movies before, but usually when the character you turn on becomes a villain, or does something wrong, or their motivations are revealed that they're doing something wrong. This character doesn't change one bit. She stays the same from scene A to scene Z.

doing the same things, the same motivations. She doesn't become a bad person. She's just trying to stay. She's trying to, you know, stay free. She doesn't want to be captured. And yet you turn on her like that where you're like, find her and put her away as quickly as possible. And that was a kind of a new experience. It was an experience I just didn't forget about this movie. And that's why I had to make it my number nine.

uh 85 minutes on i've never heard of it so new life is a new one anybody else seen now and i've not heard of it i don't think i have I don't think I have either I'm telling you and you're going to think and Bill this is one of the ones where you'll think it's a thriller but I'm telling you right now when it happens This is a there's there's a scene about halfway through this where it becomes straight up horror and a revelation is made as to what's really going on here.

And it just changes everything without that character changing one bit. And that's why I just couldn't get this movie out of my mind. Nice. Well, cool. Well, new life for Dave for number nine. Cool. Loving it. There's two I haven't seen off Dave's list. Let's go to Bill. Bill number nine. All right. My number nine is one that I watched expecting nothing.

It had a neat little title and a neat little poster. And I was like, sure, I'll go. It's one of those ones where I only have so much time, but I'll see what it is. But this one couldn't get out of my head. So it's Mr. Crockett. Oh, nice. About a child's TV character that is there to protect children whose parents are abusive or let's just say not the kindest towards them.

And when they say certain things needing help, Mr. Crockett dispels his own form of justice. And children get taken from their environment and brought back to a mystery world. of games and tv shows and mr crockett is just the most creepy scary you know he looks kind of like a thinner fat albert like he's just one of these guys he looks like it could have easily been I wish version of Eddie Murphy. But Mr. Crockett, when the horror hits, it hits.

And, you know, it's kind of like the one we had a couple years ago, the Banana Splits movie or whatever. Same sort of mentality for that. I really enjoyed this one. It stuck with me for all the rest of the year. Dude, so much fun. This one was way more fun than it should have been. If you look at the poster art and you listen to the title...

You watch that opening sequence, Bill, and you're thinking, what in the hell? But stick with it, because this is a lot of fun, dude. A lot of fun. Man, I back y'all, dude. Mr. Crockett, I like it. Cool. And that is the second one from Bill's list I have not seen. I have another one to watch. Yeah, definitely put Mr. Crockett on your list, buddy. I love it.

Nice. All right, Pearl. Dude, this has been fun. Like, dude, there's four. We've not had a crossover yet. We got six movies out already. Two, four. Well, five. What? We got five movies out. One, two, four, five. Six movies out.

no crossover yet looking good so let's go to number nine pearl what you got what i got is a horror supernatural film and it's about a young woman who is sent to rome to serve this church encounters a darkness that leads her to question her faith this one i was surprised with yes it hits hard on the religious part it's the fact of how

They explored with the body, how do you call it? Anatomy? Anatomy. Yeah. And the abuse of the church and rejections and all that stuff. I mean, I think they hid it well without... overly doing so and it's the first omen cool nice and this was one of those early uh early releases this was in First Oman was out within like January, February, March, something like that. It was early. And cool. So the first one. April, actually, yeah. Okay, April. Yeah, I was thinking it was kind of.

and it ties in well to all the answers that i personally had from watching obviously the omen it kicks in well yeah the tie-in to the like if you watch these in order uh from the original through four and then you come back and watch this one would you watch this one before you watch the original guys would y'all do that or would you go ahead and watch it the way they

originally released it's kind of like when you do star wars i don't think so because i think one of the things you one of the things i liked about this film were the callbacks to the original and it gives you a bit of nostalgia yeah um and to be honest with you uh I think, I mean, this was probably my third favorite Omen film.

I really liked it as well. I'd put it after the first one and the second one, which is sort of a personal... I know some people aren't too big on the second one, but I'm a big fan of the second one. Me too. I would put this ahead of Final Conflict. I'd put it ahead of the remake. I didn't... dislike the tv movie but i would still put this one ahead of it um the only thing that i would say is this changes motivations from what you think is going on in the first one on

And if you have the final reveal in this in your mind with everything going forward, it's going to change those other movies as well. Agree. That's why I'm with you, Dave. I think watch, if you're watching this as a whole franchise, watch this one. I feel last.

And like you said, Dave, I think he nailed it with the callbacks to other movies. I think it'll give you kind of a good nod. But I would not watch this as a prequel first. You know, whatever. Same with Star Wars. I don't watch, you know, Return of the Sith and all that crap. I'll watch Star Wars Empire Strikes Back Return of the Jedi. I'm not going back and watching all the BS that was put out later.

give me my original three, and then I'll watch the other ones as whatever they are. I'm not going to... I don't need all that backstory bullshit that you just gave me. The other thing is that... The Last Omen, if you knew nothing about the prior movies, this could stand alone as its own film. Yeah, I could say that too. Yeah, I agree. So, and I know like some of the younger generation are put off by watching a 50-year-old movie.

Right. So this might be the best chance just to start afresh and just go. I can see that. I can see why you chose it too, Pearl, for sure. Because it is a really good film. It's a strong movie now. That said, I do have, and I'm going to, this is a minor spoiler, it did not make my list. But I did enjoy it. Like I said, it's my third favorite Omen film and I thought it was really well made. I liked where it went with a lot of things.

And you know what? All right. I'm just going to say minor spoiler. Jump ahead a minute. OK, I don't. And so this is a warning. This is a minor. Not a minor. OK. And I'm going to try to not spoil it by just saying something. The motivation of the group that is doing this, that is bringing this forward.

seems a little backwards to me. It seems a little extreme. It's almost, and I was talking with, you know, Matt Rawlings was not a fan of this. Jackson was a big fan of it. And they had this sort of debate on this movie on Father and Son Watch Horror. and and matt sort of revealed something to me and i said there was something about the movie that didn't fully 100 connect with me and it's it's the very very it's that the reveal of the group and their motivations i equated it to

Like a scientist saying, you know, people don't enjoy the surf of the ocean. They don't just stand on the beach and look out at the waves anymore and enjoy the surf rolling in. I'm going to do something about that. I'm going to blow up the moon. I just think this organization would not go to the extreme they did for the reasons shown at the end of this movie. Right. I can definitely see that. That said...

It's a damn good movie, and I absolutely recommend people checking it out and doing it like watching the other Omen films. And I don't know that you have to watch the TV Omen film. That probably wouldn't. And I don't think you have to watch the remake either.

No, I totally agree with you. I think watch Omen from 76, Damian Omen 2, The Final Conflict. Not my favorite, but I'm going to throw that one in there as well. And then watch... um uh you know uh omen uh what is it the the first omen yeah yeah all right well there's pearls number nine coming in with the first omen uh my number nine it's another slasher

Hey, I'm a slasher at heart, so you know for slasher movies, I'm going to check them out. This one is another trilogy. The third of a trilogy, and everybody knows where I'm at now. It's the final of the Thai West trilogy and it's Maxine with Mia Goth playing the character of Maxine Minx. I just really enjoyed this film. I thought it was really good. Is it as good as the first two? No, but it's still really good.

really enjoyed it it's enough that i felt was worthy enough to hit my top 10 and when we first saw this early in the year my only gripe was at the time was John Labatt, which was played by Kevin Bacon. I thought his voice was so weird, but as I've watched it, I'm like, dude, it's actually really good. I mean, I just, I don't know, man. I just had a lot of fun with this one. I think the cast is great.

The reveal at the end, what happened, it was actually, for me, pretty shocking toward the end. So I loved that. And it's very good. Mia Goth just crushed it, as always. Set at 1985. the seedy side of hollywood and she's trying to become that star and uh yeah get out of the porn business and get into main business and we see what happens but

God, dude, I love this. And I've got all three of them on Blu-ray. I think we got this one on 4K, I believe. I will not accept a life I do not deserve. I will not accept a life I do not deserve was beaten to her brain. Are they done with that whole story arc? Well, it was a trilogy. It was a trilogy, so it's over, yeah. We'll see what Ty West, and we'll see what he does next. Who knows? But at least he gave us three good. I don't know. I think he tied this up.

This gave me what I wanted to bring that story to. Exactly. You know, even if and there are people who say it's not hard. You know what? I can see that. I can kind of see that. But it's the third in two movies that are.

unequivocally horror yep i mean there's no question x and pearl are horror films yeah true this is the approach he wanted to take to wind up that story i think he did it in in a brilliant way this is what i wanted him to give us from this film yeah that car compactor scene is worth the whole movie dude for the first 10 minutes i didn't know that was kevin bacon i know right

And does he play a sleazy player, dude? I love it. I love it, dude. What a fucking good movie. You know what I love about this? Yeah, this was a great Kevin Bacon performance. You think of him in Footloose and then you think of him in this. Go ahead, bro. No, what I love about this is also the way how they ended it with the fact of her attitude and her portrayal and everything. Totally Betty Davis.

Yeah. Where like even the quote where it says, until you're known in my profession as a monster, you're not a star. Nice. So, perfect. It was perfectly for it. Perfect. Man, I'm telling you, it's fun. If you've not seen Maxine, definitely check it out. So, 10 and 9 down. We're rolling over to Dr. Shock now. It's time to get into number 8.

All right. Greg, you just gave me a number nine. I'm on to my number eight. All right. This is a movie that was much higher on my list for a long time. And it just kept sliding down, sliding down, sliding down. And I'm like, I don't even know if this is going to make my list again. I said, wow, this is one I thought would be in the running for like top three, maybe number one. And I kept saying, I got to watch it again. This is one of the few I got to rewatch.

And I watch it again. I go, oh, no, no, this is it's got to stay on the list. It's got to stay on the list. It's even better now than I thought initially. As a matter of fact, I feel bad putting it at number eight. I think it probably deserves a little higher. It's long legs. Nice. Long legs. And this, I mean, another one where you're talking, I didn't know that was Nicolas Cage in that opening scene when I first watched this movie.

I said, oh my God, that's right. Nicolas Cage is in it. That was freaking Nicolas Cage with that. Look at me with my long legs. But what dread this movie. builds and Oz Perkins wow I mean for me this guy is just a phenomenal filmmaker I think he's I think he's

Um, I don't, I haven't seen all his movies of the three I've seen. I loved, I did enjoy Gretel and Hansel. I thought that was a dark, good, that was a good, dark film. A good, like a dark fairy tale type film. Um, uh, the black hoax daughter. Wow. Was. Amazing. And I think this one is right up there with it. This is like it is like a silence of the lands. And you see that without it going totally that way.

It makes its own way in that story. And that's, I think, I'm feeling, like I said, I'm starting to feel bad that I put it at number eight. But it definitely deserves a place on the list. Yeah, long legs. I love it. Long legs. I like the fact that the director for this year, he's making the monkey. I can't wait for that. Yeah, was that a take off of Monkey Shines, right?

Stephen King? It's supposed to be, yeah. Yeah, I'm curious on that. Didn't George Romero make a version of that? I think he did too, yeah. That was the Stephen King one, yeah. Yeah, because Monkey Shines was, yeah, that was George Romero. Yeah, because I saw a poster the other day of one that looked like Monkey Shines, but it wasn't Monkey Shines, so I didn't know which one. Yeah, that's the one there. I want to see Oz Perkins do Shakma. No, right.

how crazy well if you're doing research for 1990 you might as well watch it oh my god it's gonna be hard to beat monkey shines from georgia i'm just saying just throwing it out there we'll see what happens All right, Bill, what's your number eight, brother? I think this is our first carryover crossover because I put milk and cereal here.

Okay. Nice. And 62 minutes. So right off the bat, it's got my favoritism. But anybody that's listened to me for any amount of time know that found footage is not my bag. It's right down there with supernatural horror is the low end for me. But this movie's got something. And it's non-linear. So it does jump around a bit. But it's these two YouTubers. that are known for pranks as Dave's alluded to and Let's just say one of the pranks doesn't go off as they wanted

And there's negative consequences that result from having it not go the way they wanted. And it's the dynamics amongst themselves. And if you know that movie, like A Simple Plan. not a horror but you know every moral choice has a consequence and that's kind of where this one goes and it's a little frenetic it's a little jump around

But it gets into something that makes me scared that, you know, this possibly could really happen. And the film footage shows it as such. Now, some of the story wasn't fully fleshed out. From what I'd heard, there's an 82-minute version. and they edited it right down to 62 after a couple screenings. But it's on YouTube for free. The film directors just wanted to get out there and be seen.

and they probably want to make their name within the industry just by being more seen so check out milk and cereal on youtube it's uh well worth your while and for found footage it's way high for me Nice. I like it, man. We're still having a good list here. Like I told the guys off air, I was like, I think there's like 20 core films that were like top notch this year.

And here we are looking at only one crossover so far. We hit number eight. And you hit something there, Bill. It's one of the things, one of the reasons I did enjoy this movie. You know, you said it's not nonlinear, and you're absolutely right. But in the way it's nonlinear is the way that one cut of the dead. The Japanese movie wasn't nonlinear. You see it play out one way and then you see it from another character's perspective playing out another way.

And it completely changes everything. And that's one of the things that I thought was really, really good about this movie. Nice. I like it. Milk and cereal. All right, Pearl, let's go to your number eight.

My Number 8 is another horror drama, which I know will probably be in a many people's list. This one is plagued by a horrific visions and increasing sense of dread. Ellen is encountered by- evil forces are far beyond her control traveling all the way to 1830 this is nosferatu nice robert eggers which i'm gonna add here

I'm far-fetched, but if he ever listens to Land of Creeps, Robert Eggert, do not touch Labyrinths, please. Do not touch that. Pearl's done put a thread out to you, Robert. I'm just saying, don't do it. Say that to Spielberg. This is true. Yeah. This is true. There's nobody can touch Labyrinth, right, love? Yes. Do not touch Labyrinth. Find another movie. I think it's going to happen, though, love. I'm sorry. No. You don't have to watch it.

I don't see how you could remake Labyrinth without David Bowie. I don't know. This is impossible. You know what? Let me write the script for him. I can already see it. We're going to have this dark evil twist and they're going to get... turn into creatures and there's gonna be like things doing something to one another and it's gonna be an ugly looking evil goblin and no and instead of David Bowie it'll be Justin Bieber right

And you don't have Jim Henson, so what are you going to do? And oh my god, instead of having good songs, we're going to have Taylor Swift songs. No, I don't want this. I do not want this. We're going to hear Taylor Swift shift out with Shake It Off right in the middle of Labyrinth. Oh, God, please do not touch this. Oh, Raul would love it. Raul would be all in there then. He'd be like, yeah. I'm kidding, Raul. You know I'm kidding, buddy. All right. Well, cool. Nosferatu.

may show up on others list who knows we'll have to see i don't know who knows hey who knows what might be lurking in that whatever you know what i'm trying to say right guys so we're moving on so i don't keep Pausing this shit. Build up that suspense. That suspense is going up. I don't know. Who knows? We'll have to wait and see. All right, so let me... The drink's just waiting to sober up. Yeah. Yep. I'll tell you, after I...

finished that last Werther's original, drank me some water, I feel much better now. Yeah, because he's still doing the same thing. Like, he'll look my way, but he's not looking directly at me. Well, you know, okay, my bad. All right, well, I'm still here. I'm still here. And number eight for me, I've got to go. This was a...

theatrical watch as well which I've got to say when I looked at my list and I got my list right here of the movies that we watched out of the 56 that we watched Pearl and I saw 12. 12 of the 56 were theatrical. So our theatrical watches were way down this year, but we did get to Theater 12 to support. And hopefully we'll get a lot more in this year. It's not looking good so far, but we'll see. Because the horror hasn't wrapped up yet, but it's coming. Yeah.

But anyways, my number eight is going to be a film that, I'll be honest, the trailer that we saw in the theater ruined this movie for me slightly. But after watching, I was still... Such a damn good movie, I still put it in there. But it's Matt Beninelli open and Tyler Gillette's Abigail.

i thought this movie was so good it's a vampiric monster uh horror dark comedy it says but i thought this movie just really knocked it out of the park man i think melissa barrera as joey and the cast was just really strong uh strong i loved alicia weir as abigail she's adorable uh wicked and vicious all at the same time and i just man it's so much fun now this has a little bit more of the action thrill

to it too but it does have some gore and it does have some of those elements in it as well but it's a fun watch it's not one of those movies that makes you have to think too much it's just sit down and watch and see And it does have your vampiric side of things, which was the thing that irritated me in the trailer. I think if we had not seen that trailer and had already been told what this movie was about.

it would have made this more convincing and more strong other than what ended up because we knew what was the the climax of this movie but this this might have been the most And I did see that this might have been the most egregious trailer since From Dusk Till Dawn. Yes, agree. And it literally, it's almost like the movie Trap. that came out this year as well. The movie Trap, if you watched that trailer, gave away the whole freaking movie.

in a nutshell same with this one this one definitely gave you the climax so uh there was nothing to be of surprise so when you saw the trailer was it at the theater yes Okay, so you had no choice. Yeah, I had no choice. I don't watch trailers. I was at the theater, too. I think I was at the theater, too, when I saw the trailer for this. And I saw the trailer, and I'm like, oh, that looks like it'll be a good movie. And I'm watching the movie, and I'm like...

You bastards! You gave it away. You fucking gave it away. You gave it away in the goddamn... Well, again, I've said it a hundred times before, trailers aren't made by filmmakers, they're made by ad men who don't give a shit about protecting the story. Yep. Exactly. But it's such a strong movie. Definitely watch it. It's got great acting, great effects, lots of blood. It's fun. It's just an hour and 49 minutes. Shut your brain off and just roll with it.

i just really the main guy that i just always loved this dude he was also in the newer planet of the apes he's in those as well and i just really really really strongly enjoy this guy and it's kevin durand i am such a fan of him Yeah. I saw him in a, I think it was called Citizen Gangster. Okay. A Canadian movie.

I think I remember talking to you, Bill, about it, about this real-life Canadian sort of gangster who had this mob going around robbing banks maybe in the 40s or something. Oh, you might have, yeah. Yeah, and Kevin Durant was in that, and he was damn good in that movie, too. And then the one character, one more character I'll name off is Dean, played by Angus Cloud. He's the little punk-ass kid.

The rapper, dude. Dude, he's hilarious. But anyway, it's fun. He's playing himself. He is. I watched the behind the scenes of this. That dude's just being himself. Everyone else is a character. This guy, they might as well have just named his character Angus Clough. Yeah. Because he's beaten himself.

I like Kevin Durant, but you know what movie he was in that I like the most? Who? Wild Hogs with John Toroto. Oh. Yeah. You know what? I was wondering if he was in Wild Hogs. He was. Yeah. He was. It was going to bother you tonight, was it? He was. be reminisced or I would be

doing disservice if I didn't mention that Angus Cloud did pass away in 2023. Yes, he did. And they even had like a sort of RIP tribute to him and the special features on this movie. I think, I mean, I would... agree with you this was the one i had the most fun watching this year yeah i had a ton of fun watching abigail this year so it was a blast and it just kept getting better and better but what made it so good alicia weir as abigail yes this is definitely one of the finest

child performances i've seen bar none she could play the victim she could play where she well and i'm not going to spoil it like the goddamn trailer if you haven't seen the trailer don't watch it and you know But she can play everything in this movie and play it perfectly. In every scene, she's the strongest actor in it. Agreed. And she's just a kid.

And she was amazing. And I'm sitting there going, and then when I was watching the special features, she has an Irish brogue. She has an Irish accent. Would you get any feel of that watching this movie? This kid is phenomenal. absolutely phenomenal and i what i and another thing little call out i loved about this movie

It opened with Swan Lake. Yes. Her dancing ballet to Swan Lake, a callback to the very first American vampire movie made, 1931's Dracula, which had that same thing playing over the opening credits. as soon as I saw that I'm like I think I'm in for a good time It's funny because she looks so, so young, but she's really 15. Wow. She just looks 9. Yeah, she's very young, probably very inexperienced, but with a talent. That would would rival like.

Catherine Hepburn or Meryl Streep. At least what she gave me in this movie. Agreed. I'm telling you, it is absolutely one of the all-time great child performances as far as I'm concerned. I know that there are others that I've referenced.

I actually reviewed this, and it hasn't posted on the blog yet, but it will. And there are other ones that I sort of – call that as well um but this is right up there i mean this was just phenomenal and the other thing that made this movie so sweet was pearl and i sitting in the theater

in utah beside jay of the dead and macula and and uh this is the one you saw there this is the one we saw in utah which made it even sweeter so that was yes that would that would make it sweeter yes so great experience so That is my number eight. So let's head over to Dr. Shock. It's number seven. We have another crossover. And this one is probably going to be my most controversial, especially if you listened to...

The recent Jay of the Dead's new horror movies where we reviewed this movie. My number seven is Nosferatu. Now, if you heard me over there attacking everyone who was attacking this movie. You would think it would be my number one of the year. Well, when I was making those attacks, it was.

Now, the one thing that made me, and everything that Pearl said is absolutely true, and it's a beautiful movie. I mean, this is like, I think, you know, that first viewing was nostalgia for the original Nosferatu. which I think this, this, this gives you that Germany. Like you're, it's like this, this movie, this, the recreation of, of that, of that area, the areas from that movie that they give you in this movie are beyond spectacular.

beautiful breathtaking and terrifying at the same time the scenes in that castle are terrifying where i'm pulling back a little i gotta watch it again and it could go up on my list i just kept thinking about that little story twist they did with two of the main characters that was not in any of the previous versions let's just say a little bit of a past relationship and i'm like

I've got to see it again to see if that really resonates with me like it did during the first week. Was I just blinded by my love of... Robert Eggers by my love of the original Nosferatu and the fact that this thing was so brilliantly, brilliantly staged and choreographed and the performances and everything else that I...

Just let that slide. I just have to watch it again. But damn it, it deserves a place on the list, especially since I put myself out there so far on that plane. And I would put it on the list anyway. I don't mean to say, I put it on the list anyway. So my number seven is Nosferatu. See, that's how I felt though. That's why I did place this somewhere on my list because of the fact that there was that... Little change.

About that. Yeah, and I just don't know if it... It just threw it off. It didn't bother me the first time, but did it not bother me because I loved everything else up to that point? Well, see, that's why. It took the attention to everything else. I mean...

For me personally, looking at the hues and how beautiful the grays and blues, it made me think of Tim Burton for a moment. I can see that. Yeah, because you're thinking... of what you know already you know the love story or the suspense or the creature and everything and then all of a sudden that one little change throws it off and you don't find it anywhere in the history of it and i get it maybe he added for

you know his own choice but that's what threw me off that made me be like wait a minute it would have been perfect if it would have stuck to where it was supposed to yeah have you seen this one bill yep okay Didn't make my list. Yeah. I was just curious. I don't know. Here's my take of it. And I was on that episode today, so I know exactly where you're at.

I'm just curious now because Bill's seen it and it's not on his list. So we know Dave's number seven, Nosferatu, and that's a good pick. So let's go to Bill's number seven. We know it's not Nosferatu. No, it's not Nosferatu. Damn it, Bill. Nosferda had too much interpretation for me. It's about a vampire killing people in Germany. There's no other subliminal meanings to it? No, that's it. Well, that's the part.

the reason is number seven I just my piece on uh I thought the atmosphere was great the the world that he created it in it was dark you know I had a good score It was just a little too Robert Eggers for me. And I love Robert Eggers. My number seven is a big movie. I'm fully anticipating it being on everybody's list, but I'm the first to jump on it.

And so it's my place to say the substance. Now I'm going to leave a little meat on the bone here because I know more people will say to it. I will say that it's a very courageous. performance by demi moore uh i think that it was one that could get her even an oscar nomination i i think it's that good very brave i didn't look into it but if if she portrays herself as her and that's her one it's brave for doing it and two she's really kept herself up over these years which i think adds to her

uh confidence like the confidence she portrays in this film while still being vulnerable is something to behold you know you can tell like this isn't just a somebody right out of uh film school This is somebody who knows her craft. This is a callback to Cronenberg. This is kind of a modern day rabid where you're dealing with, you know, modern beauty and excess.

And a substance that if you have that moral decision, would you make that decision? And then the lengths to which Hollywood and the old school system is, and is it still? The scene at the beginning where Randy Quaid is taking a piss in the men's room and she's in one of the stalls is quite funny. I think Randy Quaid does a really good job with this. Dennis Quaid. Sorry, Dennis Quaid. Not Randy. Shitter ain't full.

But it's also very much a physical comedy or comedy slash horror, dark comedy slash horror. Because it gets ooey and gooey. It gets bloody. It gets really out there. It can get trippy. So I'll leave the rest to others. But yeah, this is... A love letter to David Cronenberg, if I've ever heard one before. And I think that's what I like the most about it, is that the story itself has been told a hundred times in a hundred different...

mediums, even a hundred different TV series and movies and everything about an older woman trying to recapture her youth. So the story itself is not what makes this movie. It's the way it's told and the imagination that went into the telling of it and the fact that it is told with body horror. And I'm talking about some.

gruesome body horror. During this, there's a scene where one, and I don't want to give the story away, but there's a scene where one character stays around way too long. And you're like, what's going to happen?

And when you see what happened, it's like, holy shit, it's worse than I could have expected. And I think that that is... part of the mastery of this film is that it did how well it does that it takes a story that's been told a hundred times before it's not trying to tell you anything new about that except through the body horror

and to tell it in one of the most imaginative ways they possibly could. Yeah, I love this movie. Such a good movie. And you said it, Bill. Very revealing of Demi Moore. Very... strong lead role. She won a Golden Globe, I think. Yes, she did. She won a Golden Globe, and if she does not receive an Oscar nomination, then I think horror fans should storm.

should storm well no we're not going to do that but we didn't do it when tony collect didn't get nominated and uh but no demi moore absolutely as far as i'm concerned one of the best performances i've seen in in horror in from from a from an actress in horror probably since tony collette yeah i mean the thing with her was when she stands in front of that mirror fuck naked yeah

You know, and normally when you see a good looking woman like that, you know, your thoughts become impure. I thought of the confidence it took for the woman her age to be courageous enough to stand there. with everything she's got and give that performance. With the body horror. And then behind all that makeup and everything. Absolutely. Yes, absolutely. I agree 100%. As a professional actor, I give her her props. Absolutely.

And let's not take anything away from Margaret Qualley either, who I thought was really strong as well. I thought she was really good in this also. And the whole idea is that you are one, but there's a point where... Nobody sees them as that. Bum, bum, bum, bum, the substance. Number seven, Golden Globe winner, Demi Moore. In her most revealing role. I can do a trailer. I should do a trailer. In a world. Great. Good choice, Bill. Number seven. So let's go to Pearl. Number seven.

My number seven is a horror mystery. It is also Japanese and Korean. You have a wealthy family who hires a shaman and they investigate a mysterious illness plaguing their firstborn son. They uncover a hidden grave and relocate the remains, but consequences start to happen. This movie... kept me involved the entire time it's a kind of long yes it is it's two hours and 15 minutes but every minute is worth it i mean

The things that happen to every single person, the stories told well. I mean, I highly would recommend this movie. It's called Exuma. Exuma. And we all know Pearl loves her foreign films. Yeah. Especially Asian. It had a vibe of The Wailing. Yes, it did. Well, yeah, being Korean, it definitely had that. And in those opening moments, those opening scenes of this film, and God damn it, I could only see the dubbed version.

I did not get a chance to see the subtitle. So I will get this on Blu-ray because I only got to see the dubbed. But even with the dubbed, which I know was not as good, the first part of this movie had me thinking this is the movie of the year.

Everything about the way this is playing out is brilliant. Brilliant. I might even put it a little ahead of The Wailing. I'm not going to put it ahead of Train to Busan or some other Korean horror films, but I definitely put it a little bit ahead of The Wailing, those first scenes. where it started to lose me was the second half which is done just as well it just it just it wasn't as powerful for me as the first half of this movie

It became more of a, let's be honest, like a monster film than the great supernatural story that it was telling at the beginning. Not taking anything away from it, I still think it's masterful. absolutely check it out. And this is one I will have in my collection and I will rewatch. Like this is right up there with a lot of great Korean horror. But that was the only thing for me was, was that the second half just didn't.

quite hit me as hard as the first half yeah i think they kind of slowed it just a tad bit because they felt safe and they thought they were safe yeah and that's where like the korean folklore comes in because You get to understand that, realistically, they do do these things where, you know, they'll open up ancestor graves just to mend something and not be tortured in life.

And that whole thing about the beginning. And when that guy was just saying, like, there's something wrong here, there's something wrong about this. Yeah. Now, the first thing that was wrong and the scene with the worm, I was like, holy Christ, where's this going? You know, when they're digging in the grave and with that worm, I'm like, where is this going? And then where it went, I'm like...

It's the film of the year. This is the film of the year. And it's not surprising because it's it's it's South Korean horror in South Korea. You know, they had a little bit of a slump sort of post train to Busan where they were doing. Good, but not great movies, but, you know, still stuff that was watchable. And I thought, God, Exuma, this is now right back there with that train of person, the whaling, that whole time period parasite.

all those great films of like when you know of the the 2010 or you know uh right up to 2020 it's just just for me the second half it's it's just i was like I'd like it. It's still really good. It's still a great movie. The characters are really interesting and everything that's happening is really interesting. I'm just not getting the same vibe that I did in the first half. But that said, it's absolutely.

It was on my top ten for about three months. Nice. Well, there you go. It's none other than Exuma, the South Korean horror film. Pearl, good choice. Let's go to my number seven. My number seven is one of the best times we had in the theater together, at least me personally, this year or last year in 2024. And I had to put it in here. It's one of my...

slowly crept up to probably one of my favorite franchises in many, and it's Alien Romulus from Fidi Alvarez. Absolutely loved this movie. I thought it hit the same spirit.

I love the face huggers in this movie, and we get a lot of them. I love the slow motion sequences in this thing with the... green ooze coming at you shit man dude it was like fucking bonkers like this movie was bonkers there's some easter eggs in there for us uh alien franchise lovers uh that you got to look out for and i just had a blast i really

Had a lot of fun with this one. And this one could have certainly went even further up on my list. It was just a really good theatrical experience. And... It's in the Alien franchise, which I just really need to go back and watch from start to finish. I really feel like it is strong. from start to finish. So it's like not really that many duds in that franchise. So I really enjoy it. Needy Alvarez, who of course gave us Evil Dead.

Way back in 2013, Don't Breathe, all those movies. Such a good director, man. I just really enjoyed it. So Alien Romulus for me, number seven. Nice. You were on that episode. Craig, I think of Jay the Dads in August where we discussed this movie. I believe I was. I'm pretty sure I was. Yeah, you did because you read the critique by that one critic that you and I respect. Yeah, yeah, I got you.

Yeah, so you were there. And I'm with you. I mean, I really like this movie as well. I think this is definitely in the top half of the Alien movies, Alien and Aliens. are like two of my all-time favorite films. This is not, you know, this is in that same tier. And you said there were no duds. There might have been one or two duds. There's a couple, but not... there's a couple duds um but not not you know none that are unwatchable and none that are terrible

You know, even Alien Resurrection, which has like a lot of people who like beat down on it. And I was one of them for a while. But then on Jay of the Dead, we reviewed it and I'm like, you know what? This doesn't quite hit the.

Friday the 13th, Part 5, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Next Generation level for me. It's better than that. There's still things about it that are kind of goofy, but it's not at that level. There's still things that are... pretty cool about it as well um and i think alien romulus is there i oh i did after after thinking about it i was like i was kind of thinking where did the facehuggers come from because they got

The whole story is that this takes place between alien and aliens. So the only thing that they had available to them was that initial alien from the first movie. Where did all the face huggers come from? Now, I did read some answers to that. And I might have just missed that. I don't know if they talked about that in the movie.

Maybe they did, and I just missed it. I think it's like Gremlins, where you had one Mogwai, and then all of a sudden you got Gremlins. And then Mogwai just got wet. Yeah, I think that happens. But I think by the time they found this alien, it was already dead. Yeah. So where did the facehuggers come from? So that was a question of mine. But take that out of the equation.

I mean, this was a brilliant and I hope they do make another one in this universe. I heard an interview with Fede Alvarez where he said he left it open ended. And I don't know that he's going to do it, but he left it open ended for somebody else to come in and take over and play in this. He said, play in this sandbox and make another one maybe between alien and aliens.

We shall see. Yeah, I really like this one. The thing with the Alien films is it's a crossbreed of horror, sci-fi, action, survival. and small space and it's dark and there's things dripping from the ceiling and things dripping from things mouths and things and there's so much fun this one just missed my list just and It was right there. This is one of those movies, just leave your head at the door. Just watch. Just enjoy. I do think that the actress did a good job.

Almost note for note, cut for cut Ripley. So they're building her up. So, yeah, you totally could take this in any direction you wanted to. Absolutely. And I will say this, as Dave was mentioning in the group chat, the one blaring. problem with this movie for a lot of people was the look of the doctor in this movie who we knew was was

You know, robotic or was... Right, when they brought Ian Holm back. Yeah. Now, Ian Holm had been dead for many years. They brought Ian Holm back, and it didn't... Now... I happened to see this, and I think I talked about this when we were doing our original review. I watched this in the exact same theater where I saw Red Dawn. And that theater had a small screen.

And like, and I usually sit in the back where I can only see so much. I remember watching Red Dawn back in 1984 in this theater in Ocean City, New Jersey and saying, who the hell's talking now? Because it's like a wide shot and I couldn't tell who was even talking. So those scenes didn't look as bad to me. But that group chat thing really that you shared, I think, Greg.

really cleared, you know, sort of cleared it up and sort of, you know, Fetty Alvarez talked about that. And the whole thing is that Ian Holm comes back. He's not playing Ash, but he's still playing a replicant. Yeah. And he's going to change it. So if you're blaring thing right now, which it was really, I'll be honest, hokey and bad in the movie is the image of him. Have no fear. Feedy knew it was off. He knew it was. Not right. He said it was rushed, but...

They have corrected this. How much they've corrected it, I don't know. What it's going to look like, I don't know. But you have to buy the digital or the physical release of this. I'm sure once that's out and it gets released on... platform streaming as well it'll be you know replaced and fixed so i'm curious to see what it's going to look like because i'm really i didn't mind the fact that they brought that that character back as much as i reminded that they brought that line back

That made me groom. It was just the look of it was awful because the movie looked so beautiful. The look of it, I'm assuming it was like I said. I saw it in a theater where the screen was so freaking far away. It didn't look I was just jazzed to see Ashback, to be honest with you.

Um, so I didn't get as close a look at it and I actually do have it on, uh, on, uh, 4k, I believe. So I'm going to, I'm going to check, I think it's 4k might be blue wrath, but I think it might be 4k also. Um, I'm going to check it out. I just didn't really like that they brought that line back, like his famous line. Yeah. Because it was just kind of like, oh, that was totally unnecessary. Yeah. So check it out. Buy it.

Watch it. Recommend it. My number seven. Let's head to Dr. Shot. Dave, what is your number six? My number six is a movie directed by E.L. Katz, written by Simon Barrett, and starring... The Great Samara Weaving. It is Azrael. Nice. And the whole idea of this movie, it's set in a world where and it's sort of a world led by women. um there's this one woman on the run is played by samara weaving and she's being hunted

And there's something very strange about this. Nobody talks. There's no dialogue. Now, there's a scene of dialogue in this movie, but it's very brief. Most of the time, these characters are not talking. And it's because of these creatures that are sort of roaming. And this is almost, I want to say it's like post-apocalyptic, but it's also like this sort of, I don't know if, I'm not going to say religious, but this very strange society.

that are hunting this woman, like I said, played by, let me put this way, Samara Weaving doesn't talk. I know Samara Weaving doesn't talk at all in this one. She plays the title character as Raelle. This did such a good... job of creating that world creating these creatures um there's a scene where she's picked up by this guy in a truck that just shocks the hell out of you um and very like sort of

intense moments in this film. It does feel like it has like almost like theological qualities to it as it gets later in the movie. That didn't detract from it for me. And as a matter of fact, I thought it might have even strengthened it a little bit. And then the creatures in this movie, I thought, were very well done. And of course, it's got some arrow weaving.

And I'll watch pretty much anything with her. So, yeah, my Azrael is my, what are we, number six? Number six. Number six. My number six is Azrael. Azrael. Not to be... Fused with the Smurfs. No. Not Gargamel's cat. Nope. You liked that, didn't you, Bill? THC kicked in on that one, didn't it? I thought you were going to say not to be mistaken for Israel. Or that one either. No, you don't want to mistake it for Israel or Gargamel's cat.

There you go. Nice. All right, Bill, what you got for number six? Number six, straight ahead horror in this franchise. No matter which one I go to, I know I'm always going to get a suspense full.

you know bit of slashing bit of survival and that's the strangers chapter one oh love it now i'm finding it funny that a lot of the movies that i have in my top 10 i go to imdb and the rating is let's just say below what it should be so i've had a few of them too yeah yeah the strangers chapter one gets an imdb rating of 4.6 that's just a bunch of poppycock yep when you watch the strangers movies you know what you're gonna get home invasion you're gonna get

usually some young nubile couple or some sort of family and they're trapped in their house and they don't understand why and people come wearing masks and there's going to be various situations that they're placed themselves in and we're going to see who gets out and who doesn't.

It's one of those films that, again, brain at the door, just watch. You know, there's some interesting characters at the beginning. There's a little bit of foreshadowing. And then it gets dark. And then you've got about 45 minutes of just dark. But not so dark that, you know, it's not, it's dark yet lighthearted. And that's kind of why I like The Strangers. It has those moments of where you smile just before you get really into it.

So The Strangers Chapter 1, I recommend. Love it. Good choice. Love that movie. I love that franchise. I'm with you, Bill. All right, Pearl, we're moving into number six. What you got? My number six is a found footage horror. Uh-oh. One we saw in a theater that we enjoyed big time. Okay. In 1977, a live television broadcast goes horribly wrong unleashing evil into the nation's living room. This is Late Night with the Devil. Is that considered found footage?

Yeah, they have it under found footage, I guess. They have it under found footage, but it's almost like it's more mockumentary. Yeah. Yeah. I think it's more like that, but I can see, you know, mockumentary and found footage, the line seems to have been blurred between the two of them. I think they put it as found footage also too because they're comparing some of it to the Don Lane show that aired for some nine seasons. Yeah, IMDB literally is the first tag on it as found footage horror.

There you go. Wow. Oh, God. Late night with the devil. It'll make you. You know, yeah, this was one where, you know, they have that documentary at the beginning where they're setting the whole story up. And then they bring you into that show. Um, what was, God, what was that, um, made for TV British film? Oh, that, that, that where they did the same thing where they had, um, uh, these.

Like real reporters. You know, never mind. I'm getting way off topic. Let's get back to the last late night with the devil. Fuck that other movie. We'll talk about it. The way that they recreated the show. I loved that. But then they didn't stay with the found footage throughout. They have those black and white scenes where they're like behind the scenes and you hear him talking to producers and other people. Now in a found footage, there's no way that could have existed.

So the director is sort of breaking the mold for mockumentary slash found footage by giving us things that otherwise would have never existed. in the footage that would have been found or in the mockumentary because nobody would, no camera would have been rolling for it. And we get those extra scenes. And in those extra scenes, I think is where it really sort of builds what happens each time they go back from commercial. And it might have...

One of the coolest hypnotist hypnotism scenes I've seen in a film ever, ever, maybe ever. Yeah, I think it might be ever because we are hypnotized. allegedly in the world like like if we were part of the world of this film we would have been hypnotized yep and that was just such a cool little uh thing to throw in the where where it

Kind of almost was the last few minutes where it just broke everything. It just said, OK, here's a completely different way of telling the story. But that's not enough to, like, take this movie down. And I mean, this is still like a damn good film. and one that you absolutely should check out. Yeah, that Ian Bliss, that's Carmichael. I loved his role. Oh, he was great. Yes, absolutely. And this one's one that we've watched a couple times, and it got better the second time.

as it did the first time. So it's one that you definitely have to do the Dave Z two time watch. And I'm telling you, it's going to wrap up. I've only seen it once, and it impressed me enough the first time. So I'm looking forward to seeing this one again. I think I have it on Blu-ray. I remember thinking, I'm watching Fernwood tonight. As I was watching it, I thought it was kind of cool that they said that this guy was going up against Carson.

But the things he was saying, you could see why he was losing. He's not as good as Carson. And it's almost like that was part of the point of the movie. That this guy, he was popular. But he was never going to quite break through to the point that he wanted to break through because he's just not quite as talented enough. i love it love late night with the devil good choice all right let's get into my number six my number six i'm gonna come in

And this one was directed by J.T. Mulder. And this one took me by surprise. And I can't really give a lot away because it will be a major spoiler. And I don't want to spoil some of these movies that you have not seen, listeners. But the movie is called Strange Darling. And does this hit horror? It's erotic thriller, psychological thriller, horror.

thriller on imdb it is it a straight up horror no but it hits horror elements deep and strong like i think if you stick with it it's got one of the coolest twists in any movie that's why i don't want to spoil anything but i'm telling you it will hit a twist from hell on you as you're watching and i loved it i thought it was really strong i think the

acting was outstanding and it's just a really fun watch but the lady as she's called is played by willa fitzgerald very attractive uh lady and she done tremendous and then you have the demon played by kyle gowner and uh just man i cannot recommend this movie enough i just it really it's so funny how those things just don't quite add up

right you get to the end of this movie yeah definitely not but hang on enjoy your ride because dude it gets bonkers and uh where it goes you're like holy crap and i know i don't even have to ask i know bill has seen this movie, without a doubt. Yep, I've seen it. It didn't quite make my list. It was an interesting film with a different point of view and things in this film, but... yeah it fell below but it is worth watching just for its uniqueness and uh the take that it has

I'm always up for neurotic thrillers. That's why I knew it would be on your watch list. I knew this was right in Bill's wheelhouse. Right there. It's kind of like the modern Emmanuel film. Yes, yes. There you go. Two things. One, this was definitely horror for the characters played by Ed Bakley Jr. and Barbara Hershey. We'll put it that way. Oh, yes. But also, the cinematographer on this is actor Giovanni Ribisi.

There you go. He was the cinematographer on this film. I know he was in Lost in Translation. He was in a lot of movies. Giovanni Ribisi. And he... got behind the camera for this and uh no i i i really enjoyed this i and another one that's sort of told out of order like it sort of goes back and forth in the timeline

But in this one, that worked to its advantage. It worked perfect. It worked absolutely perfectly because there's a reveal at one point that ties them both together because you don't know how they fit in. Yep. And that's what I appreciate. How does this fit in with that? And then boom, all of a sudden it does. Yep. You just got to hang on and take the ride and enjoy it.

But Strange Darlings, my number six. We're getting down now to our top fives, listeners. I hope you've been enjoying it so far, but our number fives, Pearl. Halfway there. We're halfway there. Here we go. We're two hours in and we're hitting five. Let's go to Dave. Let's go to number five. My number five is a movie from, let me see where this is from.

It has Norway and Sweden and Denmark, but OK, let's just say it's a Nordic film. I think it's Norway and it is a zombie film, but it is a very unusual zombie film. It does have a slower pace, but it is one of the most fascinating zombie films I've seen in recent times. It is called Handling the Undead. And it was written and co-written and directed. Co-written and fully directed by Thea Vistendal. I think the H might be silent.

And OK, for this one, I'm going to give the IMDb synopsis on a hot summer day in Oslo. OK, so it is Norway. The dead mysteriously awaken and three families are thrown into chaos when their deceased loved ones come back to them. Who are they? And what do they want? And that's what this movie is about. It follows three different groups of people, families or groups of people who have recently lost someone. Something happens.

Like there's sort of this sort of shimmy in the world. And, you know, something goes like, I don't know, it's just something strange in the air. And then all of a sudden, the people who have recently died in their family come back to life. So it's a zombie movie, but it's very different sort of zombie movie in that these families welcome them back with open arms and they're living among them. In one, it's it's there's a young child.

and it comes back to the mother and the grandfather and the kid just never seems to be fully there well it turns out he was the one dead the longest it seems like the more recently dead are a little bit easier to come around there are scenes in this movie with the and you always can tell that everyone's like oh they're back from the dead and everyone wants to accept it they're happy to accept it but these they're not quite the same

They're not quite fully there. And you just know some shit's going to go down. Now, one of the things about this that I like is very deliberately paced, very deliberately directed.

There are scenes early in this where she's like shooting from the top of a building, looking down on the characters. He's walking into another building. And I start to, you know, it's like you're thinking, well, it's... somebody watching him what's going on here it's not letting you know early on what's going on it's just setting everything up it's setting up the characters their relationships have already been established

It's not until the dead come back that we realize how those relationships merge within these families. And it is just really one of the most unique zombie films I've ever seen. I'm going to have to call it a slow burn, but it's only an hour and 37 minutes. And I'm telling you, when it gets to where it's going, it's devastating. It becomes devastating. There are scenes in this film you will not forget. So that is my number five, Handling the Undead.

I've not seen this one. It sounds like Kyle Bishop, you got one to put on your episode. I think Kyle Bishop has seen this. Okay, cool. I have a feeling he has. Maybe we'll get a message about it. And he was just sort of because I did. I wanted to give him a heads up after I saw it. I said he was the first one I contacted.

And the response I got had me thinking he was sort of familiar with it already. Okay, cool. Well, let's see if we get a full review for him. Handling the undead for days number five. All right, Big Bill. Let's hear your number five. All right. Well, that one, Dave, I had never heard of. So I really look forward to handling the undead. So my number five is one that every once in a while.

I get a pleasant surprise from Tubi. And this was one that came up, you know, they said, if you like this, you might like this, or you might like this, you might like this. And so this was a 2024 film that... I had no right enjoying and I just flipped it on. You know, I was literally just back from work and taking my shoes off. And I love the bloody film. It's called Sharkers. And Sharkers gets an IMDb rating of four. So screw you, IMDb. Damn right. They have it down as comedy, but...

If you consider this a comedy, you're pretty perverse. Here's what the IMDb synopsis says. It says, fueled nightmare that brings him to the edge of sanity this movie is just batshit crazy uh it it's a british film And it starts out with a guy I'd say is in his late 20s, kind of a good looking up and coming young professional with a girlfriend. And she suggests having a spicing up their bedroom scene and she wants to have a three.

him but with another guy and so he gets somebody from work and you know they do their thing and turns out that the girlfriend becomes more attached to the new lover as opposed to her boyfriend and so she dumps him he gets all pissed off he goes to the bar you know drinking his sorrows away And he meets someone at the bar who thinks he's an interesting conversationalist and goes back to his place to party. He has all kinds of drugs and alcohol and various women, etc.

It just goes bonkers. It's got a dark tone. It's very Brandon Cronenberg-esque in the way that the tone is set out. It's drug-fueled. It's bloody, it's got practical effects, characters meet each other. The last half is just bonkers. It's a fun WTF film. It gets gloriously bloody at the end. There's some vibes to that movie, The Murder Party, to that film. And the director of the film, Patrick Chamberlain, he plays a whacked out character that you'll either love or hate.

it's such it's such a frenetic film you'll either love it or you can't stand it i fall onto the i love it it's got some pretty dirt dirty and dungy characters it's it's just if you like a wtf film Check out Shirkers. Never heard of it, and how's the gore? The gore is glorious in the second half. Okay. So you've got to go with the wackiness at the beginning, and it...

It goes there. Yeah, I see a girl with a chainsaw. That's why I was wondering if there's a lot of gore. Yeah, the second half is just like... It's one of those films that don't... look for you know to make sense linearly linearly or like in a linear fashion or anything like that it's just it's just a wtf film sharkers from the title

It's, you know, what you were describing, words like Brandon Cronenberg and some of the other things you were talking about. I'm like, wow, this sounds like a really. Cool movie. But when you first did the title, I'm thinking, OK, but why don't you just pick Mega, Mega, Mega Python versus, you know, Ultra Octopus or something. Right. I'm thinking it's like a shark movie.

no yeah no that's initially well i thought it was just gonna be some kind of low budget you know sci-fi type film but no like like like a like a like a like a sci-fi tv like series Like Mega Piranha or something. Yeah, there's something with Robert Carradine. That's what the title makes it sound like. Yeah. Like a Robert Carradine film or something. Or Eric Roberts or something like that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. There you go.

We got Bill not disappointing us. He come in with Sharkers. We know he has some gore if Bill likes it. So I will definitely be checking this one out. And the fact that he gets a four, if anybody likes one that gets lower than a four, you win. And a lot of the moves, Handling the Undead, which I think is a master stroke, got a 5.4 on IMDb. All right, Pearl, it's time. You're number five. My number five is a tie. Yes, Bill, yes! She made you wait.

I respectfully said nothing. You waited in anticipation thinking five in. She's not did it yet. So here it is. We knew it. But go ahead, Paul. Well, my number five. Has been mentioned, it was someone's number eight. I don't remember which one of you guys, but it was someone's number eight. There's an FBI agent, has psychic abilities, and when she finds out that she is linked to one of the murders,

She investigates more into the murderer, which is Longlegs. And the reason I love this film as well is not only because how crazy they made Nicolas Cage look. But you know me, I love my folklores. And when I watched this, it completely, 100% reminded me of the Dollmaker. Yeah. And the Dollmaker, for those who... have seen or don't know you know doll maker is the devil's playground he would find a suitor who would make dolls for him and he would trap souls in the dolls and making

kids or other people kill their families and this is exactly what i felt nicholas cage was so this is why i like that it was dave added as number eight okay and then uh my other one that was a tie it's called house of spoils nice and this one is about uh a girl who's Wants more than just being in the kitchen in someone's... This is the Gordon Ramsay type of film. Yeah, this is it. She wants to become a chef, a high chef.

goes into this place and this place is haunted it belongs to uh what they would say an old witch things go about and what you think might be the wrong thing is not and it ends up being twist to this and i i mean i recommend it um yeah i don't there's not much to say about it while giving no giving this movie away Yes, it's a cursed cooking movie, so you would love it if you've not seen it, Bill. This is right up your alley. If people like the chef...

from last year. The menu. Sorry, I don't know why I keep calling it the show. The menu. Then you would like this one. Yeah, this was definitely... What's it called? It's called House of Spoils. House of Spoils. Yep. yeah definitely it's worth the watch man and like i said i know bill you watch a lot of cooking shows and stuff like that so you will understand and respect a lot of what's going on in this one so if you're not i've seen this one i have seen okay cool cool okay

Oh, yeah, this is the one where, yeah. Yeah! Oh, yeah. When I saw it, too, it was the one with that one with this one. Yeah. I'm just kidding. I haven't seen this movie. I have not seen House of Spoils. Dave, you just tried to fit in. I see you. I see you back there. No, no, no. I have not seen House of Spoils. I obviously have seen Long Legs, and I can support that one, but I have not seen House of Spoilers. Yeah, check it out. Unless it's the one with that one who does this.

You nailed it. It's that one where the dinner party doesn't go exactly as it was supposed to. Oh yeah. Let's just say they take a picnic outside. It really goes awry. Yeah. Nice. All right, cool. Let's go to my number five. Good job, Pearl. My number five has been mentioned, and it's from Coralie Fargett. And it is a... French director film. Oh, yeah. It's, of course, The Substance. Hello, Demi Moore. Definitely, definitely Golden Globe winner.

Should be Oscar winner tonight or when the Oscars take place. Absolutely love this movie, man. I'm telling you, it goes, it just goes there, man. And I love it. I love to see, and it does not like shy away from what it's trying to teach. you it's not it's she the director is not hiding behind anything she is telling you exactly

The story, right? She's giving you Hollywood. And again, like I said, it's not a story you haven't heard before a hundred times. And I think the director knows that. It's just, have you seen it told this way? You haven't.

you have and i don't know i don't think anybody has no and i'm telling you it's bonkers this movie is bonkers and the extreme that somebody will go to to stay young is all i gotta say and man margaret qualley phenomenal too so i don't want to take anything away from her she was just as good as sue and i thought she'd done tremendous too but demi moore just really stole the show loved dennis quaid when he was on screen he just really you know

most disgusting eating scene in a movie. At least in the last... I can't even think of a more disgusting eating scene in a movie. Oh, is that the one with the shrimp? Yes. It's the most disgusting scene since Terry Jones in Monty Python's The Meaning of Life where he played the really fat guy who vomited. Oh, my God. Or the same from Stand By Me when a kid eats the pie and starts speaking.

Same thing. Yeah, I think those movies both came out. Well, no, Stand By Me was a couple years later. That would be the most disgusting one. When they were digging into the pies and he thought he was eating worms and he threw up on everybody and everybody ended up turning into him like a vomit.

that would probably would be it or maybe it was or maybe jeff goldblum like spitting on whatever he's eating because he's turning into a fly yeah well you can actually hear randy quaid slurping as he's sucking yes did us quite yeah did us quite but yes you can And they get a close-up of it. What about the close-up that give you way too long of him taking a piss? Come on. Come on, Bill. You was all into that scene. You were like, yeah. He's going on and on and on.

You know what? Yeah. You know what? Demi Moore was, like you were saying, absolutely brave in this film. You can say Dennis Quaid might have been a little brave too because they do not make this guy look good at all. He is like the biggest scumbag in the world.

They could have literally put him in the movie Smile because, you know, the movie Smile, they make the guys have the big face. Or even that Truth or Dare movie that Blumhouse put out back in the day with the weird face. Dennis Quaid has that smile in his movie. He has that smile. Yeah, he definitely does. And if you want to lose weight... You want to sort of cut back on your eating? Watch that Dennis Quay scene four times a day. Was there an Easter egg there to The Shining with the rug? Yes.

Yeah. Oh, definitely. I picked up on that right away. You're absolutely right. Yes. And I loved it. I loved it. I just think this is such, you mentioned, whoever mentioned at the beginning about the strongness of women, Pearl, I think you mentioned it early. Dude, I'm telling you, women killed it. They crushed it in 2024. So proud of you ladies. And I hope 2025 is another just outstanding year for the ladies of horror. Man, I loved it. And this was just a prime example.

man. Definitely. If you're not seeing the substance, watch it. You'll enjoy it. So Dave, number four. My number four has already been mentioned and I've already said everything I have to say about it. It is Abigail. I love it. Let's move along. Let's move along because Abigail is right there, baby. Yeah. Oh, wait. I can't even spell the goddamn thing. Abigail. There we go. All right.

I think I still, fuck, I might have still missed her. All right, moving on. I'll look it up later. All right, Bill, let's go to your number four. Oh, is it Abigail? It's Abigail. Damn, I got to go. Wait, let me make sure I know how to spell this son of a bitch now. Okay, all right. There we go. A, B, I. Jesus Christ, it's only the third time you've had to spell it, right? I know, but I don't know. I can't spell. Damn it. Okay. Abigail. Okay.

And what I liked about Abigail was, yes, there's the horror elements, but it was also fun. You know, there was a spirit of... There was a roller coaster ride quality to it. yeah you know it wasn't like you know just all blood and guts there was a little bit of levity to it but you know at the same time there was the the horror when you needed it to be there is a bit of a you know an adventure to the film

It was just a fun film. Love it. All right, Pearl. We're moving quickly. Number four. Or let me do it like this. In a world. No, I'm sorry. Number four. You're a weirdo. My number four is a horror mystery. Or should I say another religious horror. This one though is more sinister. I give a huge kudos. to sydney sweeney yes this is immaculate i love it i'm gonna go ahead and throw mine because my number four is immaculate as well so let's just do them together love okay

But mine is immaculate as well. And you're right, Pearl. What else you got on it? I'm sorry. I don't want to hijack yours. Oh, no, it's fine. I mean, go into it. I mean, while we find out American Nun is... lured into, you know, she goes to, what is it, Rome? Yeah. And, uh... Here all this time. I mean we find out that she was you know had a near-death experience she She's there to learn to be on a higher ground of her

Level for nunnery, I should say. Nunnery. Nunnery. Is that a correct word, Bill? Well, in the convent. Convent. I love it. No, I just love it. I'm just kicking Pearl in the nuts. She ain't got none. But, you know, nunnery. I love that. That should be an official term. Like, come on, guys. You know me and my words. I do, and I love it. I'm having fun with it because that should be totally a real word.

It's one of those moments where he says, I'm not laughing at you. It's absolutely a convent because our school had a convent that was attached to it. Yeah. And for us kids, that was basically like traveling into hell. Yeah. Well, fuck comedy. I like nunnery better. So there we go. It's nunnery.

If it was called a nunnery, we might not have been as terrified. Pearl, high five. Give me a high five on that. That's fucking awesome. I love it. Well, it turns into a living nightmare and you go from there. Sweeney, Sidney Sweeney, I'm telling you. crushed her performance in this one you're right pearl and she is absolutely positively stunningly beautiful this is one of the most beautiful actresses there is in the world right now and she crushed her role like she came at it hard

And I'm going to be honest. She also crushed one more thing in the end. She definitely crushed something at the end of this movie. Holy cow, dude. And that scream, that primal scream in this movie is, dude. Bravo. It was almost like I wanted to stand up in the middle of the theater after her performance and give her a standing O. Sydney Sweeney, I wish you would listen to this episode and listen to this two minutes of us saying, girl, you got it.

Like, that's all I want to say. You know, wrestlers, when they're getting ready to retire, and everybody's like, you still got it. I'm telling you, Sweeney, you got it. Like, you have absolutely got the it presence. She loves horror listeners. She is a horror fan. listen to some of the interviews she has done like dude she loves stuff like the stuff and different things she gets us dave she is one of us and she

is fucking doing it, and I love it. She got fucking, now I want to throw this out for like two seconds, and I'm sorry, but I got to. She got body shamed recently, like, and she had to go do some posts, like, people were body shaming this girl. Shame the fuck on you.

Grow up, bitches. Dude, this girl is absolutely stunning, and I love her. And I'm telling you right now, if you have not. I was doing that. I don't know. There was like this big article that went viral, like on Variety or some bullshit. That she was getting hit with a lot of body shame. And I'm like, who the fuck is body shaming this girl? You stick to doing what you're doing. I know, right? I'm just saying.

Absolutely beautiful. Stunning. And an actress. And I'm not just talking about beauty. I'm talking as an actress. This girl is beautiful. She has the chops. Like, dude, she can act her ass off. And I will watch anything that she's in. and be happy and know that she's one of us. I was going to say, the other one I liked is, I liked the one that played our friend. Simona Tabasco. I thought she was actually kind of in that, she's almost from the other side of the tracks, a little bit naughty.

to get that out of her. I found her an intriguing girl. She's like from the New York side of it. What did you go say for her? No, I'll say I give her kudos. So you know that this girl is like total boss. Because of the fact that she waited a long time for this movie. Yeah. She insisted to be on this movie. She helped with this movie. Produced it. And she was like, no. No one's taking this part but me. Yep. This is mine. This is my movie and I'm so proud.

of her dude and alvaro morte who plays the father in this one done great this is just a beautiful movie. It's a very well-made film. It really is. It's a very well-made film. I talked about this over at Jay the Dead several months ago when we reviewed this one, Dave. I'm not very literate, guys. Y'all know that. I can't say big words, and this has got a lot of big letters in it. Immaculate. It's hard to say. And I told Jay when I went to it, I had no clue what this movie was.

I didn't know what the term immaculate meant. I had no clue it was religious. I'm serious. I'm dead serious. It's funny because the minute it got to that point... that it revealed it i said oh i know exactly why it's called immaculate right i didn't even know what immaculate meant so i'm in the theater watching i'm like oh shit how did

So this is like, Mary, okay, I get it. And then somebody had told me what Immaculate meant, and I was like, well, shit, it's right in the name of the title of the movie. Damn. But I'm batting. There's that one scene where they sit her down at the table, and they're, have you? Whatever. Yes. No. Are you sure? No. Why are you asking me these questions? Right, dude. I'm telling you. And you think it's going in one direction. And you feel bad for the character.

And then all of a sudden it goes in another direction and you're like, holy shit, what the hell's going to happen next? Like for a religious horror, it doesn't take the traditional route. Let's just say that. Exactly. No, no, it doesn't. Such a good movie. So number four for Pearl and Immaculate. Let's head over to, let's go to Dave. We're into number three. All right. Well, my number three has already been mentioned. It is Maxie.

And I've already said a lot about it. There's one thing I want to add to it, though. When I was doing my review of Pearl over on Jay the Dead, I guess it's a few years ago now. I had mentioned about how there was a scene where Pearl in that film was riding to a movie theater, like the local movie theater. And it hit up there a movie that the star was Theta Barra. And I mentioned at that time.

It was kind of interesting because Theta Baron was somebody that the studio had set up to be this exotic girl from like, I don't know, the Far East or something. And that she was a princess. And all this other stuff. Well, it turned out she was like a cobbler's daughter from Cleveland. And that was like the artifice of Hollywood. And I thought it was very interesting how they threw that into this film.

Well, then you I rewatched Pearl. And as you know, you get the scene at the very end of this movie where Pearl saying, I'm not going to be a star. I can't do it. I'm just going to just be a good wife. You know, when she's talking to that sister-in-law, confessing what she's done and terrifying the sister-in-law. And I'm just going to be a good wife.

to to my husband and i guess i'll never be a star and it all harkens back to the scenes in x where you had maxine and pearl together and the relationship between the two of them And where that movie ultimately went, because it's very cool that after Pearl, after X, it went to Pearl in the past and showed us a girl whose dreams fell apart. Then to Maxine.

who still had a chance at her dreams of making them a reality and when she was writing in and i said above her in the marquee was theta bara well the marquee is above And I saw it as sort of out of reach for Pearl. In this movie, I couldn't help but smile when Maxine stands on the star on the Walk of Fame of Theta Barra and stamps her cigarette out on it.

Because, well, where I starred and was out of reach for Pearl, Maxime was about to nail it. That's why I got from this movie exactly what I wanted to get from it. So it's my number three. Nice. I can't wait to re-watch it, man. What did we get? Blu-ray for? Blu-ray. Blu-ray. I want to watch all three in one sitting. Yeah. They have to be watched in that order.

You know, because sometimes like, oh, maybe you can watch Pearl first and then X. No, it will ruin the effect of all three movies. Watch X, then Pearl, then Maxine. Yeah. trilogy. We're going to watch it. I cannot wait. Thank you, Ty West. I'll text you later. Ty, thank you for putting out a fucking amazing trilogy, man, for us horror fans to have fun with, to let us see more of Mia Goth, and just thank you. Thank you. Thank you, my friend. I'll text you in a little bit.

All right, Bill. Number three. Number three is a film that I'm pretty sure is on everybody's list. I just got to it first because it's going to be high, I have a feeling. And that's Heretic.

Ooh, one hour, 51 minutes. It actually gets a 7.0 on IMDb. I am not necessarily one that... goes for the religious horror because sometimes i think they get a little overdrawn a little sappy go over the same topics that you've seen in 50 60 different films but this one takes a unique angle to it and it takes the angle of

you know young parishioners out trying to get new people for the church new followers and they go to the wrong house at night and hugh grant plays an individual that has ulterior motives let's just say and appears to be very sympathetic to the cause of the religious people at the door, attractive young women. He spins it. to have them do things that they don't anticipate they will have to do. Now that might sound like I'm tiptoeing around a few things, and I am.

Because for you to really understand this film, you really got to watch. And I don't want to ruin that for you. Hugh Grant is phenomenal. I was a little skeptical coming into this film because I've seen... a lot of the cheesy hallmark you know type films that he's in or you know he's swooning the women or it's not my thing but he really shows his acting abilities in this film

I would anticipate him getting a straight-up Oscar nomination for this, but I know that the Academy is usually biased against the genre. I'm not going to say any more because I want people to watch, and I know that my other co-hosts here will talk about it. Heretic is not one that would necessarily normally be on my list, but the performances, the twists, the intrigues, the acting, it's worthy of number three for me.

Nice. I got to be honest. I did not expect that to be on your list. I did not see this one. making your list so that was actually shocking so that's really cool that you put it up there bill number three man that's freaking awesome yeah and then for me i'm i'm absolutely with you on you grant i think you grant he's mesmerizing

Everything he says, you're hanging there waiting to see where he's going to go with it. You don't trust the guy so much when they first walk in, but he seems like the nicest guy. He seems like you want to like him. He's inviting you to have pie. Yeah, he's inviting you to have pie. His wife's in there making it and come on in and all this other stuff. And then where it goes.

and by the time it's they start twisting in that house and it takes all of these different like turns and everything you're like This is now a horror movie that I never thought would get to this point from where it started. But yet he's been steering it the entire time. He's like a mastermind. And he plays that part so... Oh, well, so well. And he goes up against these two girls. One's a little stronger than the other, you know, in their faith. I'm telling you, it's just I was.

absolutely blown away by you grant is this is this this was not and i'm with you i would never have thought you grant could have given a performance like this based on a lot of his past work You know, he has so many great lines in this film. I think the last great line that Hugh Grant had for me was in the movie About a Boy, where he played a guy who made his living off of the royalties of a Christmas song he had written.

And Toni Collette was in that movie, and she says to him, so what? Every time a kid's singing this, you know, while caroling, you chase them down for a few dollars? And Hugh Grant says, yeah, but the problem is catching the little bastards. i'm telling you in this movie he is masterful absolutely this is not the you grant you would have seen in in anything before yeah

I will say the one thing telling you where this story goes, you can't. This is what I love about it. You can't predict it. You don't know where he's going with anything he's saying, but he's building to something. And what he builds to is like truly chilling. I think the one thing this movie teaches us is if you're in a home or you're invited in a home that has a timer on the wall, get out. On the door.

Yeah, on the door. Just get out. Why would a little country cottage need a timer? I'm just saying, Bill. If you had that in your house, I'm out. Sorry. I'm just going to excuse myself out the door. If Bill says, I'm sorry, I can't open it until morning. I'm getting a pickaxe and I'm breaking through the goddamn wall. Hugh Grant's wife was like Norm's and Cheers' wife.

You never actually see her. Yeah, you never actually see her, yes. Exactly, yes, right. You see the whites of her eyes. Some of the best lines were about Norm and his wife, you know, when Norm got the results that he did not have cancer. He calls his wife to tell her, yeah, you're right. This is worth celebrating. What are you going to do? Oh, that sounds good. I'll probably just stay here and have a few beers.

I love it. Heretic number three for Bill. All right, Pearl. Number three. My number three has been mentioned a couple of times. It's supposedly horror comedy. I won't say overly much about it that hasn't already been said other than the fact that obviously that Alicia Weir was phenomenal. I agree. Like I said, she's 15 now, but she was 11 when she made the movie. I loved everything about it. The cast, you know, it was fun. I love the music. I love how...

Very attackful she was. And also the Easter eggs that belong to another movie. I mean, I just had fun with it. I mean, this is a movie that I repeatedly watched throughout the year. Five, six times already, and I don't get tired of it, and I do highly recommend it. And the movie's Abigail. Abigail. Yeah, so Abigail, five times she has watched this. I could see this losing nothing on rewatch. No. How many times? You've seen it five times, right?

Yeah, legit. She's already watched it five times. The trailer already fucking spoiled it. So, watching it multiple times isn't going to do anything. Oh, God, I love it. I was going to say, the first time I watched it, I was on multiple gummies. So it was a really enjoyable watch. God, no. You were probably really having a good time. I was like, whoa, go get her, girl. Go get her. I love it. Good choice, Pearl.

abigail number three all right my number three has been mentioned so i won't go deep into it as well but this is to me a master stroke and it's two hours and 12 minutes of nosferatu i absolutely love it robert eggers is four for four still for me I don't care uh this dude in my opinion is doing no wrong right now and let's hope he keeps doing that I think the one of the rising stars or one of the stars of this one is Bill Skarsgård as

the creature as the monster. I think the overall, just the vocal that he brings out, which... You know, if you've heard Jay of the Dead, you know where we're going with this. But, you know, he took six weeks of training just to lower his voice in the whole octave. You know, he really went full in. He went to the point.

that he would have to take breaks because this went so dark, and he said he never wanted to go this dark again in any role. Like, these are things that make me appreciate acting. These are the things that make me appreciate... people that take this craft seriously and the painstaking ways that they go through to master this craft, right? Bill Skarsgård went there. I thought he was phenomenal. My one, and I think Derrick Johns says something about this.

the group chat and here was my one thing that kind of quirked me a little bit when we was talking on Jay the Dead was I was still a little off on the overall look of Bill Skarsgård as Nosferatu. I remember you saying that. You know what? I even heard you say that before I watched it. Yep. And honestly, it didn't bother me as much because I'm like, you know what? You got to do something maybe a little bit different now. OK, maybe a vampire that of a few hundred years old.

Couldn't grow facial hair. But it didn't bother me as much. It didn't bother me as much, the look of it, because he was going for something new. Yeah, but this is what has grown because listening to Watson and listening to other ones and how, you know, I did find that Robert Eggers was taking a little more of the Vlad, the Impaler, you know, the human side of this instead. I was...

so used to seeing the William Dafoe character or seeing Max. The Max Schreck. Yeah. Or the Klaus Kinski. Klaus Kinski. So I'm looking at these... characters and i was expecting and it wasn't so you know coming to terms with that i think he looked great now i have no problem with it i think the vocal was awesome and also william defoe always crushes it he's always

Just a tremendous actor, and he'd done so good as his character. Willem Dafoe was in a movie like this before. He was in Shadow of the Vampire. Right. From 2000, where he played a vampire playing Max Schreck. playing a vampire while filming the original Nosferatu. It's like one of the great twists of any film, I think, was 2000's Shadow of the Vampire where...

F.W. Murnau, played by John Malkovich, hires a vampire to play a method actor playing a vampire. Yeah. I love it. And I'm telling you, it's like a dark, it's a dark comedy. And it's one of the great, one of my favorite theater-going experiences. I worked with a guy who told me, hey, I know you're a fan of Nas Fratu. Do you know there's a movie that just opened?

um called shadow of the vampire and i said no what is that he told me the story and he goes do you want to go this afternoon and i said well i have plans but fuck that i'm canceling them we're going this afternoon and that's what we did So I got to see Shadow of the Vampire on the big screen. Which I don't think too many people got a chance to do. No, nobody I know. Well...

I think the cast is great. I love Lily Rose Depp. I thought she was a tremendous acting in this one as well. I think Lily Rose Depp has sort of set herself up as like one of the actresses to watch with this movie. Certainly. That's how good she was. You know, and Bill Skarsgård is amazing. Yeah. You know, obviously he played Pennywise in the new It films. He's one of those guys, he's almost like one of those go-to guys that...

will disappear behind makeup and still give you a phenomenal performance. I love it. But I think Lily Rose Depp was like masterful in this. Yeah, definitely, man. Loved it. All right, so let's go to number two, Dr. Schott. Number two, I think has already been mentioned, and it has already been mentioned, and I think I said everything I had to say about it. And it was Bill's number three, Heretic. Nice. Absolutely. For me, the second best movie of the year. Hands down. Yeah.

And a film that I will absolutely buy on the highest quality home, you know, home video that I can. If it's 4K, great. If it's Blu-ray, fine. And if it's DVD, I don't give a shit. If it's VHS, I don't give a shit. I'm buying this movie, and I'm going to watch it again, mostly to see, just to marvel at you, Grant, and the performance that he gives in this. Yes. Yes, agreed. All right, Pearl. I mean, bill number two. Pearl gave me a look like, what? Sorry, bill number two.

Numero trois, number three, is one that you had mentioned already, Greg, and that is Terrifier 3. I knew it'd be high on your list, buddy. I knew this would be on... on bill's list yeah when i was watching it tonight i was like well if this isn't on bill's list he didn't see it yeah there's no reason for me not to put this on the list it's everything

that i absolutely adore about horror blood for blood's sake i'd love it you know there are people that might say bill you have no morals bill how can you watch this trash to me it's pure escapism And to me, it's an absolute loss of lots of fun. You know, like the classic slasher films, the terrifier films with their score set the tone that is welcoming to me.

You know, very much like Halloween or Friday the 13th or Nightmare on Elm Street or Child's Play. You know, when you watch one of those films, what you're going to get. You know, you're going to get ominous opening music. You're going to get... dark shadows. You're going to get some nubile teenagers. You're going to get a lot of blood. You're going to get stupid circumstances people get themselves into to get killed. That's what these films are for.

The characters are fodder to the unique kills and expressions of the killer. And that's what I love about art. Art is the ultimate mime. You know, he makes Marcel Marceau look like a little wimp. David Thornton is really, really good at what he does. There's a nice little cameo by Clint Howard. I like seeing him at the bar. I had written down the homages to Black Christmas in Amityville. There's an amazing head-splitting scene.

Oh, my God, it's great. And they had some ball splitting scenes, too. There's a scene involving Santa on a chair that reminded me of the... uh the film was it men behind the sun when uh they freeze the guy's hand and it crumbles away same thing with this one this is i i really like the new partner art had I love it when Art laughs and points. He's always just cracking himself up. He's having a blast and smiles with this little twinkle in his eye. I think...

You know, it might not be quite as gory as number two, but that opening 10 minutes. is just great dude and you know i i gotta challenge that i i may not remember i remember the one scene in the bedroom from number two yeah and i know there was violence throughout the film But goddammit, the violence in this movie, was there really more in number two? Am I forgetting number two that much? Because the violence in this movie blew me the fuck away.

They're both fairly gorious. I mean, I wouldn't choose one over the other. They're both all... And you get a nice... Let's just say in this one, you get a nice... Ass to mouth slicing. Oh, God. And the thing is, it's all practical, too. It's all practical. It's all practical. And my God, it looks better than anything you could do with blood spatters and CGI. It is absolutely glorious.

Anybody that, you know, doesn't like it. Now, here's the thing. This is why I think we're living in a golden age of horror. When Silent Night Deadly came out in 1984, you know, Siskel and Ebert were like, shame on you for making this movie. Parents were protesting that Santa was a killer. They pulled it from the theater. You get a scene at the beginning of Terrifier 3 that is 20 times anything you would have seen in Silent Night, Deadly Night.

And not only did it make a ton of money at the box office, which let's be honest, Silent Night, Deadly Night did as well. This movie has on IMDb a 6.4. And has a 78% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. And I think a lot of those are from like genre sites and all. I think that's why I think we're living in a golden age.

This movie, which in the first 10 minutes is sort of looking at, like I said, was looking at the people who picked on Silent Night, Deadly Night and saying, you thought that was bad? Fuck you. Here's bad. And it still is accepted by the masses. I agree. The last thing I just wanted to say was some of the cameos. The guy that played Santa, I knew right away, was Daniel Roebuck. Yeah. The guy who Art pissed on.

I mean, you got cameos by Chris Jericho. You got cameos by Tom Savini. I love that. I love that he was in that video where they were talking about like... explosion yeah and you get the cameos by jason patrick yep So, yeah, you got lots of little Easter eggs for people that know other actors from the genre. You know what art makes me think of? What? A baby.

A baby? You know like when a baby sees you get hurt and it laughs at you and laughs at you and then you do it again? Yeah. Art laughs at every single thing that someone gets hurt and he starts laughing. There's one scene where they... say to one of the characters you just want to fuck him don't you and you see art like wave his hand like oh she doesn't want to she's like no he's like oh yeah that that that was what i was thinking he's like he's the combination of jason and

Freddy you know he's quiet but he's comedy at the same time you know and I thought that was really cool It genuinely made me laugh. It made me laugh, too. I laughed a lot of what Art did in this movie. Even when he was walking by the main character, when she was tied to that chair and slapping her head every time he walked past her. You know, I don't know. For me, I thought this is I really enjoyed it. I thought it was like a throwback to the slashers.

And it was Damien Leone throwing a middle finger up to the MPAA saying, you ban this? What if my movie was playing back then? And I'm curious on the financials. How much money did it make? versus what let's just say it it made enough to warrant a terrifier for without a doubt i think its first day its first day it made a couple million dollars I love it. People are waiting. They're waiting for Art the Clown. Oh, it made $89.75 million. And I guarantee the budget was not anywhere near that.

I love it. All right, Terrifier 3 for Bill number 2. Pearl number 2. My number 2 has been mentioned already. But I kind of want to... Briefly talk about Caroline Fargett. Because in 2017, she made her debut for Revenge.

Which was a masterpiece, I think. I think it's probably one of the great rape revenge films of all time. It was, indeed. I agree on that. I mean, I've been watching her actions, and she's such a... empowering female I mean she does her best to you know show the complexities of like females and you know what goes on and of course her new film

The substance. Enhance, you know, to enhance... I've been waiting for a movie like this, to be honest. I've always liked body horror and all that kind of stuff, but in a realistic world... Being a female you watch yourself age You sit you fear being traded by a newer model or you feel that you just get misplaced or traded because your skin dies or you just don't look the same as you did five years ago or ten years ago. And the better version of yourself if it is promoted or given to you.

You think, would you take it? Would you do it? And most of us females, that'd be a dream. We would. We would want a better version of ourselves. You know, I mean, because... that is life you you you come into it all the time with everything and every single thing and I commend her for making this movie and like you guys said Demi Moore being one of those females that she also

stated herself when she hid from the film world for a little while because she felt this way she felt like the world don't need me anymore because i'm not 20 i'm not 30 anymore so you know but the major kudos that she's still a beauty she stood in front of there naked and didn't need a stunt double for that and you know

Just every single thing. I mean, I commend the fact of like even like when they show a certain part and they say, hey, she makes a phone call because she's all, hey, it's not listening to me.

Well, you got to make sure that you're one. You got to be in control. You got to make sure. And it's like, no, realistically, no matter what you do, you buy products. You buy anything out there. You buy, sell injections that they have nowadays. And it's like... botox etc and it's like no you still see yourself deteriorate you're fighting against something that will no matter what be taken away from you in life and it's like this movie to me was brilliant

I loved every bit of it. I love how it just showed every phase that one goes through. Agree. Yeah, such a strong performance, man. Golly, number two. The substance from Pearl. All right. All right. So now for number two for me, I am going with one that was number two for Dave and it is Heretic. This is an absolute masterpiece that blew me. Oh, way, of course. Scott Beck, Brian Woods crushing it.

as writer director and oh my god go back and listen to jay the dead's new horror movie podcast where we talked about this man and we just gushed all over because it's worthy this it's what else can you say hugh jackman do bang up job bro uh absolutely no hugh grant hugh not hugh jack yeah edit that out edit that definitely edit that hugh grant just crushed

this fucking role and chloe east and sophie thatcher are tremendous as well so i don't want to undercut or undersell them either this is such a great movie if you've not seen it there's that great scene early on Where their two characters are in the streets. And they see those girls sort of playing around. And they say, oh, I kind of like those girls already. And then the girls embarrass one of them.

And just feel so bad for her. You know, you feel so bad for that character. And you feel like she's sort of naive. And the other girl saying, I forget it. Who cares? You know, blow it off. Yeah. And then where it ends up at the end with the characters, with the girl who was embarrassed. I don't know. I just think everything in this movie, I think, was mannered. I think everything was determined.

Everything played out exactly like it was supposed to. It's a great film. You will never play Monopoly. Essentially, it's a three-minute play. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, it really is. You know, forget the other characters. Forget the elder. Forget all of those. This is those two girls and you, Grant. That is the entire movie. Boom. In a nutshell. Love it. I can't wait. This comes out the end of this.

month yeah uh yeah this is going to be a a day of purchase for us pearl for sure uh we will own me too yeah Yeah, I can't wait to re-watch this. I want to see features. I want to know everything about this movie. Phenomenal. Whether you're religious or not, man, this has got so much goodness in it. So for me, number two is Heretic. So let's get it.

And I think it's because it has debates in it that support religion and refute religion. Exactly. It goes both ways. Yep. So whether you're religious or not, you can definitely fit into this mold of this movie. And follow it. Belief or disbelief, which door will you take? Oh, here we go. All right, where we're at, where we've all been wanting to get to, and this is where you, the listeners, are screaming at us, what are your numbers? What are your numbers? We're here. We're at number...

And we're going to Dr. Shock, Dave Becker. Dave, what was the movie that just... solidified it that this was the greatest year of horror for you in the 20 I'm just kidding but what was it that was the movie that said there's nothing topping this this is it what's the name of that movie well before I do that I gotta get over you

your fozzy bear impression a few seconds ago that was pretty good though right it wasn't bad yeah it was it was a pretty good fozzy bear thank you thank you thank you very much all right well My number one has not only been mentioned before a couple of times, but I said everything I have to say about it. So it's very strange for me. I'm going to say my number one. And I'm going to move on quickly. My number one is the substance. It just gave me an experience that it absolutely blew me away. Yep.

boom mic drop and boom mic drop boom let's move on i love it mic drop all right bill we're curious american guinea pig 28 is that your number one bill American guinea pig. I originally would do a new guinea pig. They haven't done one since. It's been a while since Sacrifice. Maybe you should do it, Bill. You know what, Bill? Maybe you should finance the next guinea pig film.

Canadian guinea pig. Yeah. American guinea pig. Canadian guinea pig. Canadian guinea pig film. Yeah. He'll go searching for something. You can go hunting for maple syrup in my backfield. Absolutely. Dave Thomas can make a cameo as Doug McKenzie. There you go. Catherine O'Hara could be back there. Eugene Levy in the forest.

But it's funny we're talking about the forest because that's precisely what is involved in my film. My film has not been mentioned. And I don't think my film would be mentioned by a single caller. Doesn't mean I don't love it. It's by a director that directed the film Pie Wacket and Backcountry. It's director Adam McDonald. Out Come the Wolves. Nice. Out Come the Wolves gets a 4.7. You know what? Screw you, IMDb. If you remember the movie Backcountry,

You'll kind of get why I like this film. This film is the first half hour. Kind of intriguing. It's not overly scary or anything. It is a young woman who has her boyfriend, or maybe he's the fiance, and he works for a magazine. And they've got a cabin out in the woods, but he's not an outdoorsman at all.

doesn't hunt doesn't fish doesn't you know that's not his thing but he's writing an article about what the experience would be like to go through a hunting expedition with somebody who knows what they're doing and so the actress in here missy peregrine who i don't watch the show but my dad loves that show rookie blue she's in a whole bunch of rookie blue episodes i guess she's probably the main actress in it

And she is the girlfriend, but she was also the friend of somebody who she invites over to have a get together and catch up. But he can also guide. the fiance slash boyfriend in how to hunt and how to shoot a gun and how to shoot a bone and arrow and you know how to set up camp etc Well, there's a lot of rivalry between them back and forth. You know, one finds out, the boyfriend finds out that she had slept with him before.

you know they were sitting around drinking you know you know guy machismo and rivalry get involved but they go out and they go camping or or hunting and as the title implies out Now, the first 20 minutes, as I said, just kind of leads you there. And then you get there. And there are moral decisions to be made. You can see yourself. asking yourself, what would you do in these situations? The practical effects are phenomenal in this. If you've seen backcountry, you'll know what this...

Guy, the director Adam McDonald is capable of. You know, you've got brutality. You've got moral issues. You've got torn loyalty. You've got sheer terror.

You've got the solid use of practical effects. This is a survival film of the highest order. There is a sense of doom and dread embedded throughout the film. You've got... situation that you possibly could face to me it's got everything you want and it's only an actual hour 23 of runtime so it's not going to kill you for time you can rent this on prime

i i can't recommend this movie enough i really like it and i never hear anybody talking about outcome the wolves yeah pearl and i watched this this was actually a really good watch and uh we did enjoy this one a lot yeah And it is, like you said, it's that survivalist. Yeah, and from the filmmakers of both Pywhacket and Backcountry, especially Backcountry, because it seems like this might be more in line with Backcountry than Pywhacket. Yep.

Or am I misreading that? No, no, no, you're right. All right. Yeah, it seems like something that I definitely have to check out. Yeah, definitely, definitely give it a watch for sure. So cool. Number one for Bill, out come the wolves. All right, Pearl, let's know what that number one is. My number one has been mentioned several times. The fact that it's very provoking to make you sit there and acknowledge that everything that was done and said and shown, truth wiggle with lies though.

Sitting there, you're exploring both the religion and faith. It is heretic. I love it. But I give kudos to the guys who made this film. not only because perfectly putting hugh grant into the character but every detail every art every phrase every quote um Even like I kept saying last time when you were on Jay the Dead, even from the blueberries, because they're so significant. I can't say it. Significant. Yes. Thank you. To even that, something as little as that, you know.

i mean the performance everything about this movie made me sit back and be like huh they literally did something to make people question even their own faith even though most know better even though most are like you know 100 sure they still make them think in the back of their mind like well let me rethink this Or find out my own theory. And it's like, for a movie to do that to people, kudos well-deserved. That's right. Heretic. That made everybody's list, correct?

Nope. Yep. Yep. It did. Everybody's list. Not cool. Well, let's go to my number one, which was a no doubter, no brainer. The moment I saw it in the theater, it was undeniable and it stayed there the whole year. And it was October 31st, 1977. Late night talk show host Jake Delroy is going up against Johnny Carson for the late night.

host and it's none other late night with the devil absolutely fucking love this movie that's awesome and i'm telling you like it was that moment i had one quirk about the ending and it was what you talked about dave i know exactly where you're at It's literally like, what, a minute and a half? Yes. It's like not that long. It's a minute and a half. Yeah. But Sackett viewing, I was like, nope, this is it.

This fucking movie rules. I still don't fucking own this, and I will. I'm going to buy this fucking movie. I own it. I love this movie so much. It is my number one of the year. Late Night with the Devil. Definitely watch this if you've not seen it. So... Let us run down our top tens now because we've been on here for several hours. So I want you all to get your pen and paper. This is your cue now to get your pen and paper so you can do it with us all at one time. Here we go, guys.

We're ranking them down. Dave, from one to ten, you're number one. Well, we'll do it ten to one. Number ten, Milk and Cereal. Number nine, New Life. Number eight, Long Legs. Number seven, Nosferatu. Number six, Azrael. Number five, Handling the Undead. Number four, Abigail. Number three, Maxine. Number two, Heretic. And number one for Dave was The Substance. Now let's head over to Bill.

Bill's number 10 was Werewolves. Number nine, Mr. Crockett. Number eight, Milk and Cereal. Number seven, The Substance. Number six, Strangers. Chapter one. Number five, Sharkers. Number four, Abigail. Number three, Heretic. Number two, Terrifier three. And Bill's number one was Outcome the Wolves. Pearl. Number 10, Speak No Evil. Number 9, The First Omen. Number 8, Nosferatu. Number 7, Exuma.

Number six, Late Night with the Devil. Number five for you, Bill, Longlegs and House of Spoils. Number four, Immaculate. Number three, Abigail. Number two, the substance and Pearl's number one movie was The Heretic. And my numbers here, so number 10 was Terrifier 3, number 9, Maxine, number 8, Abigail, number 7, Alien Romulus, number 6, Strange Darling, number 5, The Substance, number 4,

Immaculate. Number three, Nosferatu. Number two, Heretic. And my number one movie of the year was Late Night with the Devil. So there it is, guys and gals. You've waited for it all year. You finally got it.

How did it stack up? Did everybody love it? It looks like the substance was on everybody's list. And it looks like the heretic was on everybody's list. And I think that was all of the... crossovers for everybody i think everything else was kind of hit and miss so not bad dude love it so with that said all right here we go guys it's time to and gal

Time to get into our voicemails. So let's go ahead and just get right into them. And we'll do some honorable mentions maybe at the end because I know everybody has some honorable mentions. So we'll do that if everybody's ready for that. Sure. Yeah, well, sure. Why not? Depends on how long the callers go. That's right. Let's see, because they may list every one of them we got. So let's go to our first call. And once again, everyone that's in the United States.

is eligible for this contest which is the giveaway of the scream factory poster of my bloody valentine which we have determined is the 1981 poster even though it's not the original but it looks trying to get us to be the 51st state Yes, I've heard. We have to be eligible for this prize. Yeah, it's going to have to happen. It's going to have to happen for you to get it. It has to happen. Sorry. You know what? No. Greenland will be the 51st. She'll be the 52nd. There you go.

So if you're in the United States and you don't have a post office box, then you're eligible for this contest. You cannot have a post office box either, okay? That's the stipulation. So everyone, your voicemail is played and you're in the United States. you were in the contest and we'll do that right here at the end so that said let's go to our first caller and see what we got tonight hey land of the creeps this is eric from syracuse utah i'm just calling in with my top 10 of

I'm just going to try to breeze through this real quick for the sake of not having a call in more than once. So my number 10 was in a violent nature. I just thought it was a fun idea, fun experimental type of movie. I know a lot of people said it was kind of slow and a lot of walking scenes, but I thought they did a good job with it.

Number nine, Late Night with the Devil. Again, I really like the format, what they kind of did there with sort of like found footage, documentary type thing or late night TV show. The ending was a little weird. but other than that it was a fun movie uh number eight speak no evil um i was not really expecting to like this as much as i was just with the goofy trailers and whatnot that got kind of obnoxious after a while but it actually ended up being really good

The change they made to the ending took a little away from it, but it was still really good. Number seven, the first omen. What else can I say about it other than... Hang on, just one sec. One. And he got cut off there. So that was Eric Shaw. And I don't think he has called back in. Oh, yes, he did. Yes, he did. Here we go. Here's the second call.

Geez, I hope so. Hey again, this is Eric from Syracuse, Utah, just calling back. I said I didn't want to have to call in more than once, and then I ended up having to hang up the phone. So here I am again, just picking up where I left off. I think I was at number seven, which I had.

the first omen um what else can i say about this just a really really great sort of prequel to the original a lot of a couple of genuinely just like unsettling scenes that really creep me out so that was a lot of fun number six i have the substance um i had kind of not avoided this movie for a while but i i just i guess put it off for a while i don't know i heard a lot of people talking about it but it took me a while to get around to it but man just a

That's a fun ride and it really just totally goes off the rails at the end there. It's a really fun movie. Number five, I have VHS Beyond. I've always been a really big fan of the VHS movies and the last couple of ones have been really good, I think. There's a really fun segment in VHS Beyond about a group of friends going skydiving. That's super cool. So I really like that one. Number four, I have Smile 2.

The Smile movies, I've just been like, they're just way better than they have any right to be. And the second one was no exception. Just a really fun movie from start to finish, so I really like that one. Number three, I have Alien Romulus. Again, super fun movie. I really like what they did there.

With that one, they kind of brought a lot of the horror, and they just really did a really good blend of all the horror and action and everything all kind of blended together really well, so that one was great. Number two, I have long legs. There was a ton of marketing around this movie leading up to its release that we all were aware of, and it just looked really good leading up to it, and I think that the marketing and the hype...

Definitely paid off. It was just a really fun movie. I think I saw this one in theaters a couple times. So I really like Long Legs. And at number one, I have Terrifier 3. Just a really big fan of the Terrifier movies. I feel like these movies just keep getting better and better with each film, despite their flaws that they have, no doubt.

And I just especially love that with Terrifier 3, we suddenly have a new Christmas horror movie, so that's awesome. So anyway, that's it. That's my top 10 of 2024. I can't wait to hear the episode, guys, and I can't wait to hear everybody else's top 10. All right. Take care. Bye. Good job, Eric Shaw, man. Love it. Eric, right out of the gate, mentioning some movies that have not been brought up. Right. And the one that I was surprised that was on nobody's list.

Is Smile 2. Smile 2 for me was better than Smile. Agree. Yep. And I think Naomi Scott is the reason why, you know, she played Sky Riley in this film. I think she was amazing. She was, my God, she was the reason to watch this movie. Yep. Phenomenal. All right, Eric Shaw. There you go, buddy. And you're in the hat, of course. So let's go to our next call. Hey, Land of the Creeps. Chris Bartoli from Worcester, Mass here. And I got my top 10 for 2024.

And look, I didn't like watch a ton of movies from 2024. I think I got maybe like 20 in. But you know, like they always say, well, it's your list. You put what you want on it. And you know what? There might be a few things here that maybe people hadn't seen or whatever. But I'm going to go with my top 10. So here we go. Number 10, Alien Romulus. I actually really like this one a lot. And what I loved about it...

Because it's like it's almost like a direct sequel to the original alien and I like how the The technology seemed to like Coincide exactly with what was in the first one, but anyways the only thing that kind of brought it down for me was the ending. Things just went a little bit crazy. Number nine, Terrifier 3. Loved it. Started the driving. Fun movie.

What else can you say? It was a lot of fun, very graphic, very enjoyable experience. That's my number nine. My number eight, I think you pronounce it Azrael. This is on Shudder. I just kind of watched this one and really, really liked it a lot. It's funny because at the beginning it says, you know, these survivors after the rapture, they...

They gave up speech because it was one of the sins, but I guess every other sin was open season because they did everything else but talk. But it was still a pretty good movie. I liked it. I loved the ending on it. I'm not going to give it away because... It was a really good movie. I liked it a lot. That was 8-7, Life of Belle. Another great movie. This was kind of like a surprise when I watched. It was a found footage movie.

Very, very enjoyable. Again, I don't want to give away the ending because it was a very good ending. If anybody wants to check it out, check it out. Six, out come the wolves. Like this one I want to. It was very graphic and very realistic, I thought. I liked it a lot. Number five, The Strangers, Chapter One. So this one, I've seen the original The Strangers, so pretty much...

There's not much of a difference here. So I knew exactly what was going to happen in this because I seen the first one, especially. all the bad decisions that Ryan was going to make, especially when he had the shotgun. I'm like, man, if that was me that had the shotgun, this movie would have ended way different. But I still really liked it, man. They did a nice job with it. I'm looking forward to the next 200.

that one so that was my number five number four late night with the devil yes just enjoyed this one a lot uh this is a very good And he got cut off. And so far, Bill, he's lining up with you a lot, buddy. Yeah. Well, we do talk from time to time. So it's good to know that my influence is being you. I'm sure he's listening right to you, Bill. Let's go to his follow-up call. Hey, LLTC. Chris from Worcester again. Sorry, I got cut off on that last one. But that's okay. So I'm going through my list.

it's funny i have this whole like composition notebook because lately i've been like putting notes down so someday when i die people gonna look at this notebook and say oh my god we've got notes from all sorts of It's all into the creeps up. Anyways, I don't know how I just said that, but me and my buddy had a few tonight, so I'm feeling pretty good. Yeah. So anyways, I think I left off with my number four, Late Night with the Devil. Great movie. Number three, Abigail.

This was one of those I saw late in 2024. Absolutely loved it. I love the blend of humor with the horror. And I think one of my favorite, like, like. I don't know. It's when they kind of know what they're going at, and I can't remember if the guy's name is Frank. He's like, all right, what do we know about vampires? And the Quebec guy goes, that they're not real?

I don't know. It's just, I loved it. Anyways, very good movie. It had a little bit of humor thrown in and a lot of graphic violence and a great story. So Abigail, number three. Number two was Immaculate.

This was why I just kind of why it had been in like I've known about it for like quite a few months. I'm like, okay, I'm actually gonna watch it. I absolutely loved this movie The that opening scene like that first what five six seven minutes whatever i was hooked hooked right at that point it was creepy as hell i mean nuns are kind of creepy anyways

and i don't mean that in a bad way i'm just saying they're kind of creepy but man when they're coming as like a force of evil it's even more creepy and that's just the opening scene i love the way that this whole movie just kind of unfolded in front of you i loved it so that's my number two and number one oddity another movie i just absolutely love again you watch the opening scene like okay i'm in for a ride and something about oddity just really

Oh, excuse me. Sorry. I don't know. It was just something about it. A lot of creepiness, a lot of scares, just that whole foreboding, whatever. Anyways, that was my favorite movie of 2024, and that's it. So you know what? Thank you, everybody, for bearing with me. I've had a few tonight, so I know my cohesiveness wasn't... on top of whatever but i don't know love you guys lopc man everybody listeners everybody love you everybody so much and just want to say thank you for keeping whore alive bye

Bam. Dude, I love the mention of Oddity, man. That's a really good film. Yeah, that didn't come up in any of our lists. Yeah, I was going to say, I think that's a first-time mention. Yep. I love it. It's a really interesting film, Oddity. It is. You know what? It was for a while. It was on my top 10. Yeah, definitely. Same here. All right. Well, cool. Let's go to next one, which is Derek Johns.

Derek, I apologize, but unfortunately, Derek, you're in Canada. But anyways, we love you just the same, brother. You are such a great dude. So here's your call. Derek Johns calling in for the top 10 of 2024. Hi, creeps. What's up there? John's calling from Canada, calling him for the top 10 of 2024. This is probably best. the overall year that i can remember in a long time from one on down my whole top 10 is all eights to nines so that was pretty good i haven't had that in a while

I didn't think anything was going to be 2022 from a couple of years ago, but this one kind of did. So I'm going to start off with number 10. It's Alien Romulus. Number nine is Azrael. You just can't beat the lead actress who I'm drawing a blank at the moment, Samara Weaving. She gets beaten the hell out of in this movie, just like a lot of her movies. And number eight, Late Night with the Devil.

Number seven, The First Omen. Number six, Heretic. Five is Abigail. Four, Strange Darling. Three is Maxine. And number one and two could alternate internet. back and forth but i i'm going to put number two as immaculate just because i know number one i've already watched three times immaculate watched twice but number one for me this year is the strangers chapter one

I know it got a lot of heat, but I'm okay with that. I love slasher movies, and it was a great slasher movie. Back to the creepiness of the first one. Not as good as the first one, but still very close. And I had Beetlejuice on the side because I can't call this a horror movie. If it was, it'd be in my top four probably, but it just didn't seem right to put it on a list of horror movies. It's good, but no.

All right, everybody. Have a great day and great show. Keep up the great work that all you do. Bye. Nice. I love it, dude. Great list. More strangers love. I know, right? And I really enjoyed that movie as well. Got the Blu-ray and it's strong. It's a really strong film for sure. All right, let's see. All right, let's go to our next caller. Happy New Year, creeps.

This is Mike Capizani, a.k.a. That Horror Teacher, with a long overdue call for my top ten of 2024. Sorry for my absence, fellas. Life has gotten in the way. Fellas and ladies. Sorry, Pearl. So here's my top ten of 2024. It was an amazing horror year. My number ten was Arcadian. My number nine was In a Violent Nature. My number eight was Eggzuma. I think I said that right. My number seven was Maxine.

My number six, Infested, also known as Vermeen. Number five, Immaculate. Number four was Longlegs. Number three, being the alien guy that I am, of course, was Alien Romulus. Number two was The Soul Eater. I have to give full credit to Billy Dee from the Halloween Babies podcast for turning me on to that one. If you've not checked that out, it is unbelievable. Kind of a seven-like really dark crime horror thriller. Amazing.

So check that one out. And my number one horror movie of the year was The First Omen. It stayed in that position pretty much all year. It blew me away when I saw it. A couple honorable mentions. Strange Darling, Oddby, Late Night with the Devil.

uh they all would have been like a top five in any other year probably this year was just so strong and i didn't even see the substance i didn't see heretic i didn't see ignoferatu yet so i mean i still have some really great movies to get to from this year i didn't compare fire three So, an amazing year of horror. Thanks for everything you guys are doing. I'll try to be better about calling in, but trust me, I've been listening. Love you guys. And shoot! Soul Eater, not been mentioned.

and what was the last uh uh not the old soul eater and and and and then it was his number two uh what was that dang movie i was all the one that uh billy d number the No, that was the Soul Eater. Okay. So Soul Eater and Infested. That was the two that hadn't been mentioned yet. So bam. Love it. The Soul Eater one, I've never heard of. It looks really interesting. I saw that. I saw it too. It's a good film. It's interesting. I love it. There you go.

That Horror Teacher Mike. Bam! Alright, let's go to our next one. And y'all apologize, I'm trying to get through all these numbers, make sure I don't get it, because there's some top fives in here from 1990 listeners that I'm having to make sure I don't play. Oh, wow. So, anyways, bear with me. So, here we go with our next comment. You say the Bride of Re-Animator. Yeah! says it's Jacob's Ladder. We're in the wrong year. Here we go with the next caller. It's for the top 10 films of 2024.

Hey, Greg Pearl, Dave Builder from North California, Colin. All right. Okay, I'm going to make this quick because since I've got 10, I've got to give you my top 10. I'm not going to have time to really give descriptors of how I thought about them. Here we go. First of all, I didn't get to see a lot of films in 2024, so this top ten list will probably change the more 2024 films I actually see. But as of now, this is what I got.

The first two are horror comedies. Number ten is Ghostbusters Frozen Empire. Number nine is Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice by Tim Burton. Number three... Terrifier 3. Art the Clown is just still at the top of his game, and I can't wait to see what Terrifier 4 brings. Number 7, Maxine. A great ending to a great trilogy. Number six, Alien Romulus. They finally got one of these later Alien sequels right, I think. P.D. Alvarez did a great job.

Number five, his long legs. You couldn't even recognize Nicolas Cage in that film. Number four, Abigail. Just one of the better, the new... New style vampire films have come out in a long time. Number three, Late Night with the Devil. David Dashmalian definitely proved that he is ready to be the main star of a film. Number two, Nosferatu by Robert Eggers. I'm in agreement with Dave Dr. Shock on this one, 10 out of 10 on that one. But my number one is The Heretic.

That film just was, Hugh Grant was just very deserving of an Oscar nomination. He definitely needs one, and I hope they don't do to him what they did to Tony Collette for Hereditary. All right. Hope you guys have a great show, and I'll talk to you next time. Take care. Bye-bye. Love the listeners. Ghostbusters for the first time.

yep yeah i haven't seen it is it is it good i haven't watched it i'm i haven't watched beetlejuice either so i'm not for sure i've seen that one okay all right yeah i have not watched either one of those yet so uh go ahead Okay, I thought you were going to say something. So, I quit doing that phone. All right, here we go with our next call. Extra episode, which is always awesome to have more LATC to look forward to listening to. The top 10 of 2024. I'm...

Really excited to hear everyone's list because I think there are going to be some that are the same as other people pick, but I think that there's going to be a lot of differences. I think there's, you know, in there. for what people have finally decided to add to their personal list. I decided to go ahead and call in with mine and have it locked in.

My list, lock it in so I don't keep looking at it and wondering if I should change something. So first I just want to list some honorable mentions that were on the list until I saw something else. Abigail, that was a great one. I think the trailer ruined it for a lot of people, myself included, which is why I know I should not watch trailers. Alien Romulus, great movie. It was there till the very end.

Great Torture, which was a foreign horror, and it's worth a watch, very much a bit of a program, but worth it. There was one that I had on there and I didn't want to lose it because it was just so different, but it was a 2B one called Slay, a very great horror comedy. I'm not the biggest horror comedy person, but I really enjoyed that one.

um drag queens versus vampires just i just have a great time and i'm i'm gonna keep recommending people go watch that one the last two honorable mentions i just want to mention real quick aren't movies but the creep tapes I think those have been a fabulous follow-up to Creep and Creep 2, and I just hope there's more episodes. And for some nonfiction, we'll go with Horror's Greatest.

I'm loving hearing the different people involved in horror talk about their favorites, horror comedies, animal attacks, just whichever subject it is. I'm just really enjoying watching that. All right, down to my list. So I'm going to, I think I'm about to get benched. So I'm going to hang up and call right back and then just go through my list. There we go. Some honorable mentions. I like it.

Pearl had seen Slay. Have y'all seen Slay? Yeah. It's a fun film. It is fun. I went in a little reticent because... I'm all for the transsexual... what do you call them? The performers, you know, but, but it's not really my thing in terms of, I'm not big on live theater and I'm not big on pop music. So the drag queens, I was like, okay, how is this going to work?

because it could go but it's just so much fun the characters are interesting Victoria we chat from time to time and she'll say you gotta get this film Bill you gotta watch this film and it was a lot of fun I highly recommend watching Slay. I love it. Let's go to her actual top ten now. Okay. So here is my list. I'm not going to get into a whole big thing with each one. I'm just going to say what they are.

So at number 10, I have the German and Austrians, The Devil's Bath. If you hadn't seen it, go in blind. It's got a great opening. Number nine, Late Night with the Devil. I wanted to put it higher. It's the supposedly found footage, but that behind-the-scenes thing that just knocked it just a little bit.

Number eight, In a Violent Nature. And I know that some people don't really like that one. They didn't like the slow burn. I really enjoyed it taking a different perspective and the one, the yoga kill. That's my favorite kill of the year. Next, I have Smile 2. That would be number 7. I can't decide if I like it more than the first one or the first one more. I lean towards the first one a little bit, but I can't fault Smile 2. Amazingly done and well acted.

At number six, I have Oddity. That was another great one that if you watch it, again, going completely blind. Number five, I have Mads. This was one that... I just, I kind of had something else in there. And then just for the whole movie being just a one-shot take and the way they did that. I love innovative filmmaking and something new that I've never seen. Number four is another four-on-one with Exuma. Number three is Long Legs. Number two was...

Was my number one for a very long time with Terrifier 3. I didn't think it could get knocked off, being the highest rated none.

non-rated horror of all time i think i said that right and number one is the substance i'm not the biggest body horror fan but that was incredibly done and i i really hope we get more movies like these these experimental these different ones um so i'm hoping next year is just as big of a banger as this year was this year's was i'm really looking forward to everyone's list

And, um, love you guys. And I'll talk to you later. I will back her in violent nature does have my favorite kill of the year as well. If you know, you know. I will just say that that definitely is my favorite kill of the year. sweet all right let's go to our next call is oh my god they don't make this easy on me i'm sorry guys i swear to god i'm trying i'm trying all right so we go

All right, here's with our next caller. Hello, Creepers. This is Anthony. Arr. Arr. Trying to mention general. Calling in for, I think it's a time of the year, we love this, where...

Most, if not all of us, really look forward to the top 10 movies that we've seen in 2024. It's something that we all can participate in. We love it for... listening to everyone's list and what we've seen and just how different they are and how with some that are similarities and and also just getting recommendations because for me I feel like I had a solid year I've watched by my count 35.

which, you know, some people have seen a lot more, but I still feel it's enough to have a solid list. Because you know what, for me, let me just say, Jesus, man, let me just take my shot first. Tonight, I'm just so excited. I'm chomping at the bits. Tonight I'm drinking a little bottle that was gifted by someone that most people don't know. If you're going to gift me something, you give me a bottle of bourbon. And this is Woodford Reserve. I'm going to smooth down, smooth down.

Cheers to a great year, to 2024 and more are in 2025. Peace and love. Love you all. Maybe I might have seen more this year. Last year, I thought it was a little lackluster. I'll just say that. I kept hearing so much about movies that were coming out this year, though, that I had to later in the year just jump on the boat and see a lot more.

And a lot of my stuff that is on this list came from stuff I've seen later in the year. So let me start right away. Number 10, I had to put this on. It's called Humane. It's made by Cronenberg, Hayton Cronenberg. uh david former daughter and i guess i'm just goo goo gaga for any anything cronenberg i guess i was really into this maybe it may be someone i consider it hard but i feel like the tone and the post-apocalyptic theme

And along with Dark Comedy, I thought it was great, and I had to put it on there. Number eight is one of the last films I saw, Strange Darling. I thought it had a great little twist in there. Number eight, Heretic, essentially. Putting number eight for Hugh Grant for the year. I haven't seen him in a performance in this since Lair of the White Worm. Amazing. Incredible.

Number seven, which was on my number one for like half the year, or my number two or three, Late Night with the Devil. Great. And a lot of these from here on in are kind of big guns. And I think, you know, not everybody, but a lot of people have some of these big guns on their list. Number six.

I was torn. People were torn in this. I was in the love camp of this film, not the non-love, but the full-on love, and that is in a violent nature. As a fan of the slashes, I thought this was a great love letter, a nice little... And he got cut off, so let's go to his second call here. I'd be benched. I had to be benched. I mean, there's no way this could have gone to one call in a call of epic.

epic proportions as the year-end top 10. But I am going to do another shot. I think I have to. Of this Woodford Reserve. Cheers. Peace and love. Peace and love. God, it hurts. Number five, long legs. Long legs was my number one for also a long time. My number one, number two. Nick Cage, amazing. Amazing. But still, there's four more to go. Four with Smile, two. Amazing sequel. I still put the first a little bit above the second. Excuse me. Great sequel. Great sequel.

Number three was Mad. Is it Mads or Mad F? Mads or Mad F? That's French film. Know as little as you can about it before going blind to Mad, Mad F. Number two is Terrifier 3.

It's my favorite of Terrifier so far. It just included the best of the both, too, and all of its bloody, gooey, ory, goriness. And my number one, the only movie that could have knocked off... uh artha clown in christmas is the substance the substance i just love me some body horror and love everything about it love to me more's uh performance love the

Jesus, man, that ending, that ending didn't see it coming. It got out of hand really fast. Excuse me. Oh, God. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm going to go lubricate my throat with some more bourbon. But just looking forward to everything, of course. Obviously, can't say it enough. Always going to get some great recommendations for everyone's list. Wonderful. Hugs and kisses. Happy 2025 to everybody. Happy New Year. best community slash family in the planet.

I love that dude so much, man. Anthony R just always brings the fun. You can literally hear it go down his throat. I know! Like, dude, I'm always sitting there thinking like, God, that had to hurt, bro. There's no way that that didn't hurt. I'm always thinking that with them, but I guess it doesn't. I guess. Good stuff. All right, let's go to our next caller here.

Hey, Greg and Pearl, Bill, Dave. This is Jason Taylor from Northern Kentucky calling in with my top 10 for 2024. Just off the top, I've got to say... It's a little bit of a cheat. And don't worry, Bill, it's not a tie. But I kind of separated out my Sprout 2 from my other 10 because I kind of like really love my top 10 list so much. And then here comes Nosferatu right at the end of the year, and I didn't really want to knock out one of my ten because I really like it.

Anyways, I do love Nosferatu, by the way. Great use of shadow. All the typical, like, Robert Eggers, attention to detail. All that stuff's great. Awesome movie. Without further ado, here comes my top ten minus Nosferatu. Number ten, Milk and Cereal. Don't know how many people have seen it, but it's a really cool little found footage movie. It's available on YouTube, I believe.

Only about an hour long, definitely worth checking out. Number nine, in a violent nature, I get why people have problems with it. You know, the whole just following a guy around the woods. But for whatever reason, it worked for me. Some of the best kills of the year, especially the girl by the cliff. You know, not to spoil too much. Number eight is going to be Mads. I love the whole idea of the one-shot take.

Now, whether it was real or not, and they didn't do any kind of like camera trickery, I'm not sure, but it was convincing to me. I also loved seeing like the gradual breakdown of the characters when they were... You know, turning from human to zombie, the little bursts of laughter and the tics that they had and the aggressiveness and things like that. But yeah, love Mads. Check it out. Number seven is Die Alone.

I really loved how the zombies looked. They just had a really distinct, cool look to them. It's got a nice twist, I think. It's kind of obvious pretty early on what the twist is, but to me it was still satisfying. Number six, Heretic. I don't think I need to say too much. Hugh Grant was amazing, and I could definitely watch that first 30 to 40 minutes.

Over and over. Just the conversation was awesome. Number five, Strange Darling. Great acting all around. Great twist that I definitely did not see coming. Big fan of it jumping back and forth, kind of like Tarantino style to different points in the story as well. Number four is The Substance. This one kind of blindsided me. I hadn't really heard anything leading up to when it came out.

So I went in blind and was just amazed by the performances. Loved how wild it got at the end. Cool. And I got to say this before we go to his next call, man. The Mads love. The M-A-D-D-S, I believe it is. That's actually a really good film if you've not seen it, man. I just really recommend it. It was good. And I'm glad I'm seeing people pop that out there on their list.

Definitely worth it. I was going to say, he mentioned a film I'd never heard of, I'm looking into, called Die Alone. Yeah. Have you seen that one? I haven't. Who was it that's seen that one? Somebody's seen that one. Maybe over at Jay the Dez, I'm pretty sure. Well, I know Dave Z has because he's seen like every movie that's come out, but, but, um, I have not seen that. It's definitely one. It's Frank Rillow again. Oh, there you go, buddy.

Heck, yeah, and we love him some Frank Grillo. All right, let's go to Jason's follow-up. Hey, guys, it's Jason Taylor just calling back in to finish up my top ten list. I know you guys were all weighted with Bated Bruh for these top three, so.

Here we go. Number three was Exuma, and to be honest with you, I'm not sure why I have this at three. It should probably be my number one. I've watched it probably more than any other movie on my list, and it's... to me just easily the best foreign film of the year um got a really interesting cast they're they're really well fleshed out you really kind of grow to like know the characters really well just

i love everything about this movie uh if i had to recommend one movie on my entire list it would probably be exuma uh number two late night with the devil um really love the premise It's got the found footage thing, which, if you know me, that's a huge draw. Great performances by David Dussmalkian and, you know, the rest of the crew there as well. And then number one for 2024 is Terrifier 3.

Any year that there's a Terrifier movie available, it's probably going to be in my top five at the very least. So I wasn't really too surprised that this showed up there. It's just wholesome, bloody, slashery goodness. I love that movie. Hope you guys like my list. I did have some honorable mentions. Don't want to leave these guys out. But I also really loved Long Legs, Low Lives, Abigail, Humane.

Oddity, which I have a feeling will probably show up on a lot of people's lists, and also a movie called Little Bites. So if you get a chance and you haven't seen any of those, check them out. Overall, I think this was a really great year for horror. I was super impressed. I had a hard time whittling a few of these movies out to make my list. Anyways, Greg and Pearl, Bill and Dave, love you guys. Love all the rest of my creeps, my family, outside my real family.

Thank you guys for everything you do, and thanks for keeping horror alive. Anyway, we are a real family. Come on now. I love the list, dude. Some of the ones that are getting put out, like Oddity and all these things, but he mentioned the one that Pearl was writing down Little Bites. Yeah, it's... I don't want to give it away, but it is good. Watch it. Okay, so...

Pearl saying watch it too. So there you go. She's got your back on it, Jason. I've never seen it, so I'm not sure. So let's go to our next caller here. Hey, Land of the Creeps, it's G-Rig. What's up, G-Rig? Other Greg from Willington giving a call on the top 10 of 2024. I'm super excited to hear this episode.

And there's like a bunch of movies that I haven't seen in 2024 that I saw on lists and I saw, you know, the different, you know, blurbs online and whatnot that's available but just haven't checked out yet. anyway so hopefully i'll hear some good things about this or maybe bad things and i'll know to avoid them in any case i'm going to get right into it uh top top five of 2024 or am i supposed to do a top 10. I'm going to do a top five because it is tricky. You start out with a tie. Sorry, Bill.

I know, man. It's a tough one, though. Because what it is, I really, really, really like both of these movies. But they're both kind of flawed. They both need a rewatch for me. And those two movies, you know, tie for force, I guess, or tie for fifth, whichever you want to say. Anyway, Long Legs and Nosferatu. I need to watch them both again and just get a better feeling. But I really loved them.

but didn't just sink the basket quite thoroughly. They're kind of teetering around the rim a little bit, but they're both freaking good. I won't go into that too much. Probably going to hear a lot about it.

um you know in long legs came out so early in the year i probably should have rewatched it by now um but i was kind of hoping it would go on like one of the streaming services i have subscriptions to and it hasn't yet uh but what i do recall about it is that it sort of had with silence of the lambs kind of feel to it but went farther kind of true detective silence the lamb it's just you know true true crime kind of kind of feelings for it uh which is like such a neat combination of things

And I liked that it was gritty. You know, I liked some gritty stuff. But at the same time, a campy, weird performance by Nicolas Cage. And then when you realize, it's like, whoa, this is outside what I thought it would possibly be. you know, kind of take that lurch into the other world. I really dug that because it was so grounded. It wasn't just like Harry Potter land, you know, magic, magic, magic, you know, nonsense.

which is just like it kind of bores me so in any case they're not ferrari i'm sure it's gonna be number one for a lot of folks uh i i really liked it but the pacing just kind of bugged me and that's why it needs a rewatch like uh some movies the slow pace

will bother me on the first watch. And I watch it again, and I'm like, oh, cool, I can catch up on the nuances. And I'm not just, like, sitting here tapping my toe, like, all right, when does it get to the point? So I think Monserrati is going to improve on a rewatch. Anyway, both really good flicks. Can't wait to re-watch those, although I am waiting. And number three, I'm going to... And he got cut off, so we've got to go find him on number three call. And let's go to that one.

Hey, it's G-Reg calling back. So I said, yeah, Ty, Long Lake, Nosferatu, the debris watch. And my third place is in a violent nature. And I really liked, you know, that it was well done, thoughtfully made, obviously very thoughtfully made movie. And Canadian, hey. Hey. I do enjoy, like, you know, I don't like taking so much. I like being in the woods.

I don't know what to say. And so it really captures that, you know, enjoyment of nature. And the thing about nature is it is quiet out there. There's not Henry Manfredini, you know, musical score going on while you're out in nature. It is beautiful. It's pretty.

it's got the natural sound but and then for the filmmakers to take that and flip it on its head as far as like a horror like a camp you know camp blood kind of variety 13 style thing and you know it kind of show you the other side of the story sort of like rise of leslie vernon for example you know just as it flips flips the script shows you from the other side of the mirror what's going on

um and i really liked it and that you know it was sort of a simple story as far as like the killer's origin story so he didn't have to go to hell and back or whatnot it was like oh this happened okay or it's just a rumor of what happened who even really knows but Yeah, so good. Definitely enjoyed that. Terrifier 3 is coming in at number 2, and it was so good. I don't want to go into it too much, but I did see it twice in the theater while I could.

And really dug it. And Late Night with the Devil is my number one. Might not be a lot of everybody's number one, but again, I enjoyed the style. I enjoyed kind of the version. of your typical horror movie and i really liked watching like the old talk shows when i was a kid i would i liked staying up late and watching and that was the only thing that was on you know because it was back in the day uh all you had was like four channels

So it was the old talk shows. And sometimes like variety shows or sketch shows. And, you know, this kind of captures that Uri Geller versus James Randi kind of thing that was going on back then. I don't know. Not much more I want to say about that. But yeah, those of you who want to say, I did get to watch 28...

horror movies in 2024. I'm very proud of myself. 34, if you consider some of these movies that I think are like, maybe they're horror, maybe they're not, like Beetlejuice, Maxine, Trap, Ghostbusters, Lisa Frankenstein, The Crow.

Like, are they horror? I think some people are going to have them on their horror list. And, you know, good for them. That's the thing. It's all subjective. There's no hard and fast rules. But if we counted Beetlejuice as a horror movie, I'm like, oh, that would be a tough one to keep out.

But for me, I don't. All right, and I did a top five. I don't know if we're supposed to do a top ten. All right, well, I'm going to go. Y'all have a great show, and keep heart alive. Thanks. Love old G-Rate, dude. And pull back the curtain a second. I got to give him big props today because Pearl and I went to a Facebook marketplace and found a bunch of VHS and we were going to go pick them up.

And I'm leery about stuff like this, Bill and Dave Pearl, because you never know when it's marketplace, you know, and I'm like, I don't want to go show up somewhere and wind up getting murdered or something. So anyways, I text, uh, G reg and said, Hey brother. and send him the address and dude

We're going to this address, pick up some VHSs. If you don't hear from us within an hour, this was our last known location, man. You know, send help. And he looked out after us. He had our back. It's good to have somebody in town. that you know because you just never know i'm just saying and and the people ended up being super nice elderly lady she was sweetheart and her daughter so yeah it was all good but

I'm just saying. So G-Rag didn't break in and beat the shit out of her or something? He didn't, but I feel like in G-Rag, you need to let us know. I feel like you would have did that. I think he would have came in hot and been like, hey. Oh, he would have.

Absolutely. He absolutely was. I love that. And Greg, have you gone through every single one of the tapes? Do you know all of them? Yeah, I've went through and just pulled them all out so I know what we got. And there's no real what I would call horror. But there is some really damn good movies and they all look in really good shape. No mold. Clean tapes.

I cannot wait. There will be a YouTube video where I'll go through all these. It was like 180 tapes. Which is covering one-fourth of the living room space we had left. Well, once I get the video done, then we'll find somewhere to put them. I have no clue. I have no clue. But it's bonkers. But anyways, I'm super excited. So let's go to the next call. And I know, Dave, you're going to like this call. We're going to love this call. Let's go to Kyle Bishop. I love it. Love this dude.

Hey, creepers. Val, Dr. Walking Dead here. Sometimes I tell my students, you know what? You're so far behind. If you keep trying to catch up, you're never going to catch up. You just got to cut your losses and move on. So clearly my efforts of late to catch up have been ineffective. Always one episode behind. So you know what? I didn't even try to come up with anything to say about metal music and horror films. It's kind of a blind spot for me anyway. So I'm trying to cut right to...

The best of 2024 episode. And according to Pearl's posts on Facebook, still got time. Now, I'm not super confident. This may be one of those voicemails that makes the show. after everybody's gone home and it's just me and Greg and hopefully Pearl in the background. Yeah, man. Well, Pearl has to listen to all of them because she's the editor. Good job, Pearl. Oh, thank you. Anyway, trying to slow things down.

I was really stressed out last time trying to do these voicemails, get them in fast. And as a result, I called Greg P., Dave, because, you know, Greg's on the show. Dave's on the show. Greg, Dave. Dave, Greg. Sorry, Greg P. Remember, everybody, Bruce and Toosan, Greg P., and Amy Lee. They're awesome. Yes, they are. So, yeah. Been late a lot. Been slow. Try to start this new year off with a...

with less stressful. All right. Now that I've slowed the pace down, I do want to say, man, if you guys don't listen to the outtakes, you're missing out. Dave Becker's rant. about socks. It was like Seinfeld-level comedy. What's the deal with one sock? So, Dave, you're a prince among men. Also... I tried to send everybody, all the hosts, a little something to make up for my own professionalism. So there you go. Well, now I have about 30 seconds to talk about...

Best horror of 2024. But I'm not really going to, because over on new horror movies, we're going to be doing that. And I don't want to spoil everything. I will say, here's some ones I really liked that I wasn't expecting to like. So I know there's a lot of buzz about the biggies, right? Nosferatu, long legs, substance, et cetera. But for your consideration, I also really like eczema, strange darling.

lowlife, and especially oddity. So, not necessarily mainstream, but definitely good. Anyway, thanks for keeping horror alive. You guys are awesome. No, you are, Kyle. You're awesome, buddy. I love that. He is super awesome. Now, my daughter, Ella, loves her squirty juice, Kyle. Did I really rant about socks? Yeah. Another moment that Dave just never remembers. That's what we love about it. That's why bloopers are so fun. You need more Jamaican Me Crazy. Yeah, Jamaican Me Crazy.

Jesus, I wouldn't think coffee would do that to me. Love it, Kyle. Appreciate you, brother, man. And Low Life had not been mentioned yet, so that's out there. Yeah, Low Life. That's a Tubi movie. It wasn't bad, actually. No, I really like that one. I like that movie. Nice. All right, let's go to our next caller here. Hey, this is for the top 10 of 2024.

This is Sean, the Sean half of Susan and Sean from Texas. Okay, I lied. Technically, I only have six for 2024 because I didn't get around to 10. But it was still hard to put together those lists. And I blame all of you for making me do it. At number six, I got The Beast Within. This movie was decent for a werewolf movie. Cinematography looks good.

It was gothic. Had some good set design. But I think the themes and the allegorical stuff could have been handled a little better. Pretty mid. Number five, I'm gonna go with Immaculate. uh very good uh like i said gothic a lot of atmosphere creepy catholic uh creepy catholic stuff uh pretty good and number four i'll go with first omen

Very similar to Immaculate. I could almost put them on a tie. Sorry, Bill. I think First Woman's a little better for me. Maybe because I saw it earlier in the year. But I would like to see a spinoff where Damien conjures an army to fight the army of the Clone Messiah from Immaculate. That would be pretty cool. Number three, I would put Nosferatu.

The masterpiece from Eggers, he did it again. Everything I've seen from him is awesome. No complaints. Did exactly what I expected it to do. You know, lived up to every expectation. Number two, I put Late Night with the Devil. This one really just blew me away. I couldn't believe how engrossing it was with the 70s aesthetic. It was so realistic, I could just watch it.

movie about that guy's late night career on its own. And number one really surprised me. Alien Romulus just blew me away with the set design. The kind of cassette retro 80s vibe I've got going on. I'm not a huge fan of Alien franchise in general, but that one really hit all the marks for me this year. All right. Thanks, guys. Bye. love it sean and susan over on facebook love it yep all righty so we got one more call uh sean actually called back in so let's go to his next call

Hey, it's Rob from Texas again. Did I get benched? I noticed my call was over three minutes long, but I didn't hear a disconnect tone or anything like that. So if my list is incomplete, well, I guess you just missed out on it. My bad. Thanks again. Bye-bye. We did get your call in. Boy, that would have sucked. Let's go to our next caller here. Bam.

Happy New Year, creeps. This is Tony Kanopka from Detroit, Michigan. Hope everybody is doing great. This is my favorite episode of the year, and I mean every year. Really, really looking forward to what everybody has to say. I would guarantee every list is going to be totally different because this year was freaking awesome. My goal was to watch 100 2024 horror films, and I only caught 71.

I am kind of bummed about that. I thought I watched more than that, but I did my best. Next year, I'm hitting 100. Okay, here we go. I'll roll through them quick. Number 10, Nosferatu. Number 9, In a Violent Nature. Number eight, and I'm sure, I've got a feeling I'm the only one who's going to have this top ten list. Godzilla vs. Kong, The New Empire. That made it to number eight. Number seven, oddity. Six, smile two. Five, stop motion. Four, the first omen. Three, exuma. Two,

I think is going to be in a lot of top fives, long legs, and I hope to hear this on many lists. Number one, The Substance. Freakin' loved that film. The Body Horror is superb. Quick honorable mentions, Maxine, Alien Romulus, the prequel to The Quiet Place. I just watched that. I really liked that, Day One or something like that. It was really good.

Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice. I don't know if it says it's horror. I don't know if we really consider that horror, but I'll throw it in there. And Winnie the Pooh Part 2. All right, guys. Can't wait to hear what you have to say and gals. Hope everybody's doing great. Talk to you later. Bam, love old Tony. Yeah, Tony's great. And you know what? He and I watched Long Legs on the big screen together. Nice.

Back when it was first released. And he's probably the main reason that I regret it's not higher on my list. Yeah. Well, they come in with stop motion and Winnie the Pooh part two. I don't think either one of those. No, no. You know what? Both of those are first time mentions. I love it. All right. Let's go to. Oh, let's go to the bencher. All right, land of the creeps. Here it is, the best of 2024 of horror. Now, I...

I'm in the minority, I feel, on this one because I had a struggle not because of greatness, because I really don't know what to include in the 10. And it's not the... They're not worthy of being in the 10. It's how do I draw the line? Where, you know, 2024 was just not a year that I had multiple movies that wowed me.

these movies that blew me out of the water. I appreciate all these different people that have championed different movies, but some of them I watched and I was like, that wasn't that great. Again, it's just me, and I'm just voicing my thoughts and opinions on this because it's really kind of weird. Normally I have something much more decisive. There were definitely a few that...

Throughout the year they stayed in the list, but then there were others where it's like I can't include that in my top ten because it just wasn't Wowie Zowie the whole number Number 10, and maybe this is not really in any particular order, but I'm going to go with Strange Darling. Some may put this on horror adjacent, some may not. I feel like it goes there. But I just was compelled. It was just a cool movie. And, you know, some said they predicted it.

And that's fine. More power to you. But I just like the way that it was executed. I like the way that everything unfolded. So why not like that? At number nine, we're going to make bads? I don't know. Let's go with Abigail. That thing would have been higher on my list if Abigail wouldn't have been spoiled by the trailer. Yeah, it's just, it's still a fun movie.

And I rewatched it recently, snippets of it actually, mostly the beginning, because that's where I felt like the surprise was spoiled. And he got cut off, so... Let's go there. All right. Me again. I was rambling way too much, but mostly it's because I just hate my list. The lower part. The lower part. I shouldn't say that I hate my list. That's a bit extreme.

I'm just not, again, I don't know. Forget what I said. Next up, number eight, Destroy the Neighbors. This one was early in the year. And it's just, at first, I was like, I don't know. I'm not getting into this. and it does this tonal shift really quick that is it just hits all these notes where it's just enjoyable it's quit overthinking it it's it's there's all this visual treats and

The sound and the noises and just what's going on. It's just lunacy at its best. It's a fever dream. I don't know. I loved it. And I had to put it on the list. And I stuck it there at number eight. It could have been higher. It could have been lower. I don't know. But I needed to mention it, and it deserves to be on somebody's list, so it's on mine. Up next would be It's What's Inside. This was similar in story because...

I was, at first I'm like, there's a lot going on, the concept's cool, but are they going to be able to pull it out in the end? And that answer is yes. This is a twisted movie, twisted, twisted, and... It's a fun watch. And, again, would probably be higher on my list. It's just that some of them edged it out, edged it down towards the bottom a little bit more. But It's What's Inside was...

It was a good film for me. I enjoyed it. It deserved to be on the list. Number six, it's probably lower on my list than on others. That's fine. But Long Legs. This is on the list just because of how dark this movie is and how this was one of the movies when I was in the theater, it struck fear. It struck... exactly what it was going for it freaked me out i did not see how it was going to end that was kind of cool not that i didn't guess some of the things i just didn't

I didn't know it was going to take a leap out of reality, if you will, into the supernatural. That freaked me out, and it was done very well. And then, of course, you start reading things. You get that face that Leonardo DiCaprio makes. And he got cut off again. Love Greg. As per usual. Yep, let's go to Bench Bench. Once upon a time in Hollywood. It's that picture and he's pointing at the screen.

what basically what i was referencing and i apologize but silhouettes darkness bodies creatures in the background in multiple scenes and it's one of those things where the movie's going on And you're like, did I just see that? And you don't have enough time to register it. There's not enough time. And I mean, it's making the hair stand up on my arms right now. It's freaky. When you actually see it and you're like, oh, what the hell?

messed me up but number five is the substance and it's on my list a hundred percent because of demi moore's performance she nailed it out of the park I didn't write down the other girl's name. I can't think of it. She did a wonderful job. She's a hot commodity right now in movies. She had like three or four in 2024. So that was just awesome for her. And she deserves all the accolades. You know, she is just an actress to watch.

how her career is going to continue to ascend. But Demi Moore, kudos to her for winning the Golden Globe. Awesome, awesome, awesome. Hopefully she gets a nomination for the Oscars because she deserves it. like many other actors that are going to get overlooked because they're horror. But you know what? She nailed the role, and it blown me away. And I'm just rambling, and I'm only on number five. Number four is Heretic.

And again, Hugh Grant crushed this movie. He is a force to be reckoned with and a force to watch. And it was just awesome. And awesome, awesome, awesome. I'm using some stupid words, but... It was good. Number three is Lisa Frankenstein. Yep. I have to have one of my horror comedies. A lot of people don't collude this with horror. I don't care. I do. There's flying dongs.

I mean, right there, that's horror enough, right? I mean, it's basically a modern retelling of the story of Frankenstein in a loose way, but it's still such a cool movie, and I loved it from start to finish. And it was a surprise watch for me because it was a mystery movie Monday. And, yeah, right on. It was great. And number two is Red Rooms. This one goes out to you, Bill. French-Canadian. Awesome.

I was hesitant to put this on the list because I didn't know if it went horror enough. I felt it did. Others didn't. Then other people started to chime in at the end of the year, and I'm like, boom, number two. And now you're wondering what number one is. I'm going to have to call back. And he got cut off. So now we got to wait. Now we got one whole call for his number one. Let's see what Greg Bench's number one is. Am I number one? If I got cut off with number two, it was Red Rooms.

And it's just dark. It goes places. And it's chilling. And that's how it's horror is because it's subtle. It gets underneath your skin. And it doesn't come out. It just continues to dig and fester. And it's horror all the way up to the end. And I believe that wholeheartedly. But that's why it's number two, because it was done in such a way. Number one, though, is Oddity. Ever since I saw this way back when, I've seen it more times this year than any other movie. It's all in the delivery.

It's in the suspense. It's in the story. It's in the simplicity. Yeah, it's frightful. It's freaky. If people say that it was predictable, that's fine for me. I wasn't trying. to predict that I was enjoying what was being presented, and this was that movie this year. If there was one that gave me the wowie-zowie, this was it. Next to Lisa Frankenstein and Red Room.

So my top three were the Wowie Zowie's, if you will. I did struggle making my list because there were so many that could have been put on the list. Like We Are Zombies, Nosferatu, Late Night with the Devil, Monster Summer. First, Omen and Immaculate canceled each other out. They're so similar, just so different, but yet I couldn't pick one. And, hey, Bill, no ties, right? So they canceled each other out.

They didn't get put on there. Stop Motion was one that was a late comer for me. I watched that one, and it was really kind of interesting. It was kind of cool and bizarre. Mads was one that I wish it could have been a little bit better, but I enjoyed it. Cuckoo, that was all right, just not that great for me. And Slay was another one that was such a fun watch.

I just wish that some of the quality just would have been pulled out a little bit better. And the last thing I wanted to say, well, two things. One, horror adjacent ghosts and boy kills world. This movie was just, it was violent. And it was such a fun watch. And the last thing was, kill of the year, if there's even such a thing, would be in a violent nature. And if you saw the movie, you know exactly which one I'm talking about. So, all right.

Can't wait to hear the episode. Later. There you go. Greg B with his calls, man. Love it. And he is in for the drawling. All right, let's go to, oh, here we go, Dave. We'll remember this one. Hello, LOTC. This is Jason popping my cherry. Please be gentle with me with my top 10 of 2024. How y'all doing?

I've been listening a long time. My first time ever calling. Took forever. It's just kind of how I rolled, I guess. I'm trying to start with my top ten. Normally I did not watch. So if you're wondering where the hell's that one, well... I never saw 3, never saw Heretic, never saw Smile 2, never saw Nosferatu. I'm mentioning those because, well, they probably would have been on my list if I saw them. But let's start. Number 10, VHS Beyond.

Love the VHS movies. Kind of hard not to put in one of those. Number nine, In a Violent Nature. I'm from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and him walking through them woods was just like my backyard. Love that movie. All the parts that people hated with him walking around. Kind of loved it. Number eight, we got Immaculate. Just love these kinds of movies. Beautiful atmosphere, beautiful location, beautiful actress.

Then we got number seven, we got Asriel. Love the cult movies. Love it in the woods. Number six, The First Omen. Great movie in the series. Beautiful shot as well. Great atmosphere. Alien Romulus. Alien is one of my favorite series. I even like the ones that suck. I just love the space settings. Number four, we got Abigail. This movie is the biggest surprise for me. This little girl was tough.

Creepy. Great child actress. Probably got a bright future ahead of her. Fun movie. Long legs. Loved this movie. Felt like a 90s style horror thriller. Felt like Seven. Felt like Trials with Lambs. Just really loved this movie. number two giant surprise oddity wow that's probably the scariest in my opinion for me um and then of course i got to save some time for the number one is the substance

This movie says so much without being overbearing about it. Danny Moore killed it. She's still beautiful. She deserved her awards. Weird they had to call it comedy music or whatever bullshit that was. But hey y'all, I got my call in. Love y'all. Love being on the group. Y'all been cool and kind. We'll talk to you later. Bam. Jason from Poppin' the Scary. Check out Poppin' from the Scary. You got to check out their podcast, man. Good shit. Oh, yeah. That was awesome.

Yeah, Dave and I have been on there. The one I did get to go for, Chainsaw Massacre 4. Gotta appreciate it. Thank you, Jason. Let's go to... Let's go to Derrick Johns again. Let's see what he's got. Derrick Johns calling in for the top 10 of 2024. I know I've already called in with my list, and I wasn't sure if mine got cut off at the end about my comments about the Beetlejuice movie, saying I didn't feel it was a horror movie.

Just calling in to let everybody know I never thought that, or even the original ones, Ghostbusters, Beetlejuices, our horror movie. But that's just my opinion, and it's not meant to piss anybody else off. If you have it on your list, you have it on your list. It's why it's your list.

um but i'm just calling in to say how much i love these shows top tens top fives of the years and things like that i always look forward to the year end show and uh just wanted to call in and fix the beetlejuice comment and just in case I pissed somebody off and had it on their list. I thought it was a great movie, just not horror for me.

Anyway, keep up the great work, Dave, Greg, Bill, and Pearl. Love everybody there. Everybody does a great job. Thank you guys for everything you do and look forward to another great year in 2025. Bye. Boom. Love it, bro. Good call there for sure. Love Derek calling in. So let's go to Patrick Gunner.

gotta give patrick gunner a shout out he this is his top 10 guys number one now let's do it 10 to 1 how's that let's do it like we do it number 10 for him is alien romulus Number nine, guys, was apartment 7A, first mentioned tonight.

Number eight was Smile 2. Number seven, Strange Darling. Number six, The First Omen. Number five, Immaculate. Number four, Infested. Number three, Abigail. Number two... the substance and his number one film of 2024 was late night with the devil and he said Nosferatu 2024 would probably be on here but I didn't have time to see it

and his honorable mentions here's his honorable mentions um let's see stop uh cuckoo first i'm sorry cuckoo stop motion beetlejuice beetlejuice and a tv show called hysteria on peacock So there you go. That is Patrick Gunner's call in, and I appreciate him calling in like that dude. Love, love, love that dude. Really cool guy, man. All right, so let's go. We've got a couple more calls here, and then we've got...

Got Greg P and Shannon. We got so many cool voicemails to get to, guys. We cannot wait. So let's go to Ian Urza. Let's see what Ian Urza has for his top 10. I guess it'd be top 10 for him. Let's see what we got here. Hey, Land of the Creeps, it's Ian Urza sending in a recording of the top horror movies of 2024. And before I get to my list, I just wanted to talk about some of the movies I haven't seen yet, because there's still a few that I do want to watch.

and I'm sure some of these movies might be on your list or someone else who calls into the show or they might just be movies you talk about. Even though I don't suspect this one will be on my list because I haven't heard the best things about it, I do want to watch Watchers.

some point uh that's the one directed by M. Night Shyamalan's daughter that one looked at least interesting enough and it's if it's directed by his daughter I'll definitely try to give it a shot Y2K was another one wasn't able to catch it in theaters I didn't have the biggest interest but I'll probably end up watching it at some point.

Just looking around here. Mads, I think that's a French film that I do want to try to watch eventually. The Devil's Bath is another one I want to try to watch, even though I haven't heard good things about this one. The Exorcism, the other... Russell Crowe Exorcist movie. And then there was one more, Low Lives, which is, I think, a Tubi original, if I'm not mistaken, that actually got a pretty good reception that I'd like to try at some point. Carb is another one I'd like to try.

And without further ado, I'll get to my list. I have a few honorable mentions. There were a lot of movies this year I liked, but I'm putting the things in my honorable mentions that got my strongest rating that just didn't happen to make my top.

10 like uh i'm just i'll name some of the movies i'll exclude like i liked oddity fine but it wasn't like a movie i loved uh heretic was another movie i thought was fine but i didn't love it that won't be on my honorable mentions but or my top 10 but i just wanted to mention

in case people were wondering how I felt about those. Honorable mentions, I'll start with A Quiet Place Day 1. I actually really enjoyed that film. Smile 2 was another one. Cuckoo and Blink Twice. I really liked all of those films.

couldn't make the cut of my top 10 as I was going through it so at number 10 I'll start with Nosferatu which might be a little low for some people I think that movie was a little long but I really enjoyed almost everything else about it and number nine even though this movie was technically made in 2023 and i believe it's a uh

I think it's a Scandinavian Nordic film. I can't remember from where. Maybe Norway, maybe Sweden. I can't remember for sure. It's Nightwatch 2, Demons Are Forever. Great sequel to a film from the 90s. Number eight, I got asked. Azrael, a movie I liked a lot more than most people did. Number seven, The First Omen, which is actually my number one film at the beginning of the year. And this is how far it got knocked down as the year went on. Number six is Exuma, the Korean film. Number five.

uh strange darling number four long legs number three the substance number two alien romulus and number one of course is terrifier three who could have predicted uh predicted that from me but uh And just to know, I Saw the TV Glow is a movie I really loved. It would probably be like in my top.

three or top four i'm not exactly sure where it land i just don't see that as a horror film um it didn't really evoke any of the emotions i normally feel while watching a horror film so for me i just didn't really have that on my list because i just don't see it as a horror film like

When I watch it, I'm like, yeah, this is artsy. It's got some weird stuff in it, but I just don't really see it as a horror film. So I'm eagerly awaiting everyone's lists and all of your lists as well. And I wonder if there will be some. Some films that I haven't heard of or that are kind of deep cuts that maybe I'll have to check out after hearing someone talk about them. As always, guys, thanks for letting us send our stuff into the show, our recordings and our voicemails. And I hope.

And he cut himself off for whatever reason. Love Ian, dude. Man, great list for sure. That dude. Super list. And it brought up the movie that... i saw high on a lot of people's lists and maybe it's just me but the movie did nothing for me and that was i saw the tv glow yeah i wasn't really high and i watched it and i'm like

Why do people have this rank so high? Maybe it's a generational thing. I think that's what it is, Bill. I think it's the 90s generational... you know 90s 2000s maybe i didn't get into it as much either but i feel like it hit that spirit of of generation kind of more of a you know like an oddball fantasy kind of film I don't know. Maybe, as I said, it could be a generational thing. And I'm not anti-film. Everybody deserves to like something that they like. I just couldn't get into it.

All righty. So let's get to Brian Scott. He said, this in-year list is always one of the best LOTC episodes. I really look forward to each year. So let's see what Brian Scott's going to bring. Get ready to take extensive notes. Yes. Here we go, Brian. Howdy, folks. Brian Scott, horror movie fanboy here. The top 20, 24 movies.

is one of my favorite LOTC episodes every year. I'm sure all the listeners really look forward to this episode, as well do I. And I just wanted to say this is one of the best years for horror. In my recent memory, I've seen probably 60 or more movies from this year. And there are 20 movies that would have made my top 10 of most other years. For example, a movie like Time Cut.

Very similar to last year's Totally Killer, which Totally Killer was in my top five last year. This year has been so strong, Time Cut will not be. Now, Time Cut is not as good as Totally Killer. But in some years, it could have broken into my top ten. I mean, that's just an example of how strong the year is. And there were so many mainstream movies that went to the theaters that I think are going to be a lot of top tens this year. I know mine.

It has a lot of mainstream movies. So what a good year. And I won't reveal my top ten here since I was invited on a podcast coming up here soon where I'll reveal it. But I do want to... Really look forward to hearing all the listeners and the host top 10. L-O-T-C, for life. For life. Brian.

You're my brother from, we call ourselves, this is when Brian and I text, he says we're our 80s brothers, right? And I love Brian, appreciate him so much. And he has had some things going on. And we send our love to you, buddy, and your wife or brother. So we love you. I appreciate you and can't wait to hear your list. We know where it's going to be at. And stay tuned, listeners. We'll share it as soon as that list comes out for sure. Brian, I'll take a photo and send it to you later.

I love it. All righty. So we got three more voicemails to get to, and then we'll go to our honorable mentions. We'll close out, and it'll be the end of our show, listeners. So we're at that spot. Let's go to our next voicemail. All righty. So first.

up here we're going to go to none other than dan johnson take it away dan take 97 Hello LOTC, this is Dan Johnson from the frozen tundra of Fargo, North Dakota and it's about four below zero Fahrenheit right now and we're hoping to get to a high of four above this afternoon. I'm recording my top 24 horror favorites of the year. I've been logging my watches on Letterboxd as I see them all year, and I keep a favorite horror list and a favorite non-horror list there.

The non-horror list is where most of the questionable horror-adjacent films end up for me. I usually include the good horror TV series from the year on my list, but this time the only really good one to me that I saw... was True Detective Night Country, and I decided to leave it off the list. Here are my top 15 favorites. I saw five of these in the theater. seven of them VOD from Apple iTunes, two of them on Shudder, and one on Hulu. Number 15, Broken Bird.

This is a late-edition sleeper I just watched a couple of weeks ago. Rebecca Calder plays Sybil, a damaged female Norman Bates type of character, in this slow-burn film with a great ending. Number 14 Red Rooms. Bill would appreciate this one. It's a French-Canadian film. It's an uncomfortable examination of some people's obsession with true crime. It has an excellent lead performance from Juliet Garepi.

as we watch how far she will go with her obsession of the trial of an accused serial killer. 13. The Soul Eater French film from the creators of 2007's amazing film, Inside. It's a police procedural with disturbing and bleak subject matter. It's got a great story, excellent leads, good cinematography, and great practical gore special effects.

Strange Darling. Now this is a very fun, unpredictable, violent serial killer story told out of order with amazing lead performances from Willa Fitzgerald and Kyle Gallner. It's great looking and shot on film by Giovanni Ribisi and also has very good gore special effects. Number 11, Maxine, the final film in Taiwes Miagath Trilogy.

All of which were shot with different styles, and this one is set in the not-so-glamorous 1985 Hollywood. Goss, Undeniable Charisma, and the rest of the Very Good cast elevates this film for me. Number 10 Exuma, another excellent South Korean film that has a good script, a great cast, an eerie soundtrack, good special effects, and interesting historical themes. Number 9

The First Omen. It's an excellent prequel that really goes all out with the graphic gore and has a very creepy feel in general. It also has a very noteworthy amazing lead performance from Nell Tiger Free. Number eight, Immaculate. It's a great film and Sidney Sweeney deserves way more respect and credit for being a very involved producer in getting this 10-year-old longtime dead project finally made.

She delivers a film that looks amazing with atmospheric scares that escalate until the exciting conclusion. 7. Late Night with the Devil I am a late-night fan and still currently watch The Late Show with Stephen Colbert every day, so maybe I'm more impressed with how much fun this film is than most. It's got great scares and excellent performances from the cast, especially David Dasmalchian, Reese Arturi as the co-host Gus, and Ingrid Torelli as the creepy girl Lily.

Number six, Cuckoo. I saw this opening weekend in the theater and loved it. The excellent lead, Hunter Schaefer battling Dan Stevens' Herr Koenig was lots of fun. It also looks great and has a good soundtrack. Number five, Long Legs. It's a very eerie Silence of the Lambs-style film with a supernatural twist. Micah Monroe, Nick Cage, Blair Underwood, Kiernan Shipka, and Alicia Witt are all very good here. Number four, The Substance.

Finally, we get the true story of what happens to aging women in the entertainment industry when they are dealing with men in power like Dennis Quaid's executive character Harvey, and it's very eye-opening. It has what should be award-winning performances from Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley. It also has awesome, gory, practical special effects. 3. Alien Romulus

This was probably my most exciting and funnest movie experience in the theater all year. Now I've been hearing a good amount of people dismiss this as just another series sequel that isn't needed. But I would say that it takes balls the size of cantaloupes to try to make a film that goes in between Ridley Scott's Alien and James Cameron's Aliens, which are both amazing masterpieces.

So I salute Fetty Alvarez for delivering this great film. I also don't think the fan service moments were that big of a deal since things like that are way more egregious in recent films like the horrible new Ghostbusters movies. Number two, Oddity. For me, Damian McCarthy's Oddity is easily one of my favorite horror films of the year. It's got a really creepy atmosphere, very tense moments, and the cast performances are excellent.

Also, I love the wood golem. It looks very cool. Number one, Nosferatu. To me, this is another Eggers masterpiece when you look at his mind-blowing attention to detail, the sound design, the score, the set design, the costume design, the cinematography, the practical effects, the casting, and the acting performances.

The culmination of Egger's films has led to this. He mixes the previous Nosferatu films with historic Romanian folklore relating to vampires and the real-life Vlad the Impaler to create the ultimate Nosferatu film. Now, there were a couple notable films I didn't get to see yet, and those are Smile 2 and The Heretic. Thanks for another year of great podcast episodes, Greg, Bill, Dave, and Pearl. All righty, strong list. And the first thing I've got to say, Bill, Dave, Pearl.

this dude needs to get to a very warmer climate because being negative is that well bill knows all about that but i'm not used to negative weather and i'm gonna tell you what when you get down into negative weather who and what was it north dakota i think it is or something like it oh my god i think that's where you from uh dan no no uh but anyways i'm sure all those movies really he might he might even be further north than i am

I had never heard of the movie Broken Bird. I hadn't either. I hadn't either. And that was one I've got to really... really check out but then i i was gonna say i still need to check out red rooms so thanks for putting that back up on my yeah reader yeah and that's the those two movies right there just by his mentioning piqued my interest right i was like okay

dead bird love the name and then this one so we'll check them out so dan appreciate you calling in brother and uh we'll see what we got from there all right next up we're going to go to shannon barnes let's go to shannon's voicemail and see what she's got for us Hello? Oh creeps, it's Shannon calling in. I know it's been forever, but it's part of my New Year's resolution for 2025 to stay more in touch with friends and to call in to this podcast and to

write more, run more, exercise more, eat better. But anyway, enough about that. I'm calling in for my top 10 2024 movies. And let's start with number 10. That was Beetlejuice. Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice or whatever, Beetlejuice 3, whatever. The new Beetlejuice. I liked it. I thought it was wholly unnecessary and I wish Hollywood would stay out of my childhood, but it was super entertaining.

and I thought it was a great gateway horror. The next one is number nine, and I'm sorry, Bill, don't be mad, but it's a tie. It's A Quiet Place 3 and Arcadian, and the reason why... it's a tie is because I really liked Arcadian because I love Nick Cage but I like the movie A Quiet Place better which Arcadian was pretty much a ripoff of A Quiet Place. Anyway Um...

The next one is a small little film that I saw, which is called Daddy's Head. I enjoyed it. I sort of named it the Babadook for stepparents, but I really enjoyed the ending. ending um and it goes a couple of wild places which um i thought was super interesting um number eight is late night with the devil excellent set design very nostalgic It was a really well-made movie.

It could have done with some rewrites, and I don't think it went far enough, but it was really, really great. Number seven is Speak No Evil. I know I'm probably in the minority for this. I love the original. I think it's... I think it's a Danish film. Anyway, I love the original, but I had no intention of liking this movie because I like the original so much. I thought there was no need for it. I thought the OG was so infuriating.

But I did think that they wrote some alternative sets of events in here. And it goes to show you that if you have a great script and a talented cast of actors, you cannot not make a great film. So I thought Speak No Evil 2024 was a really well-made film and I enjoyed it. Number six is Apartment 7A, which is the prequel to Rosemary's Baby. And although it suffers from all the things that prequels suffer from, I thought it was...

Really intriguing. And for anybody who hasn't seen Rosemary's Baby, you're crazy. It's the best movie ever. And I thought it was really well done. Number five is Woman of the Hour.

hour a bit of a small film but I thought it was really great it's based on a real story and directed by first time directing debut I think Anna Kendrick really good also stars Anna Kendrick it was also a it's a period piece I think it's 1960s or late 50s something like that and I thought it was really well done number four is alien Romulus I'm a sucker for this franchise I love it so much

That I feel like they can't make a bad alien movie. Even the bad alien movies are good alien movies to me. So Alien Romulus is my number four. Number three is coming in. So now we're at my top three. So number three I have is long legs. Long legs kept me at the edge of my seat. I thought the way it was shot. I thought the way it was acted. I thought the sound design. It was all so creepy.

that I was constantly looking around the corners of the film to see if I could see more. I did want it to be more leaning towards the Silence of the Lambs Buffalo Bills situation and less of a supernatural, but... that's just me and I didn't write it and I didn't direct it and it did just fine on its own um number two okay my number two film is I'm sure being said many times on this podcast is The Heretic uh I thought uh actresses Sophie Thatcher and Cleo East were just

They were phenomenal. And casting Hugh Grant as a creep is just genius. I love when people cast against type. i love that they put a little sneaky peek in there from topher grace who is the king of creeps in hollywood so i thought it was really well written i like movies that inspire conversation um i would love I would love to talk to Watson about this movie. I heard him do a review on another podcast and I would love to be able to talk to people about this movie.

Anyway, that's my number two, The Heretic. And number one, my number one movie, which I thought was so inspiring, was The Substance. I think body horror is going to be... center stage this year I think social horror is going to be center stage this year I thought the set design and cinematography was amazing I thought the performances were original and raw and I loved it and I love seeing original

horror and i think we need to see more of it and um that brings me to the end my runners-up were like oddity maxine i don't think maxine was a horror movie but in my opinion it was totally fun i still need to see cuckoo and I still need to see Nosferatu I know I know don't get mad no one wants to see horror movies with me okay great anyway wrapping up I love you guys be well be safe anybody who's on the west coast please be safe and

And reach out if you need anything. And I will call back in soon. Okay. Goodbye. There's Shannon coming in. Bill Day Pearl. Yay. Yay. And even if you don't. And even if you end up not exercising as much, jogging as much, listening, whatever, you better keep calling in, girl. We love hearing Shannon's calls. Absolutely. We can never be mad at Shannon. Oh, hell no, dude. And she brought up the film Daddy's Head. Yes.

And that was an interesting film. It's so weird. That's an odd one. It really was. And I'll tell you the other one, and I knew it was going to be on our list. Pearl, you knew I knew it was going to be on our list. Room 7A. Because we know... Her favorite movie is Rosemary's Baby. So why would this movie not be on there, dude? I just knew it wasn't. It's a good damn movie. It really is. Have all of y'all seen it?

prequel to rosemary's baby if you've not seen room 7a i'm telling you check it out and i'm not motivated to but you know what i think i probably have to you have to now it's a must I had never heard of the film Woman of the Hour. Me neither. I looked it up and I was like, hmm.

So see, this is why we love you callers. That's why we love you. That's right. Because y'all bring them to our attention and we'll get to them eventually. That's right. So last up now we're going to do, we have got Greg P and Amy Lee. you Once again, I apologize for the terrible audio quality waiting on the new microphone. The current one we have is possessed and doesn't like to pick up Amy's voice, so all apologies.

It will get better. Is that your list there? Yeah. Cool. All right. So this is your gruesome twosome here for the top 10 of 2024. This kind of came as a surprise. I actually thought this would be an episode down the road. That's all good. Here we are. Here we are. And we watched a couple of movies today. We watched way more than I thought in general. Well, that's the way it always is. Every time I go back and look, it's like, holy crap. We did watch them today.

Two today. One made our list, the other one did not. Let's start with your number 10. I don't know. Yes, let's go backwards. I wasn't sure whether it was that heretic movie, thought-provoking versus crazy. That's true. So you made a tie? Yes. Oh, Bill VanVegel's going to love it. But it depends on what day do I want to go straight up? Well, I guess they're both straight up crazy. But at least Heretic gives you a bit more to think about. It's cracking me up. But it's awesome.

Okay, anyway. Sorry, Neil. all right so my number 10 is gonna be a heretic okay um You know, I didn't mind the movie. I thought, what's his name? We both had our own Hugh Grant. Hugh Grant. I thought Hugh Grant did an excellent job. And I listened to this over to Jay of the Dead explain a lot of the Latter-day Saint ideology. i'm the religious one she's not so That's almost the only thing that we differ on other than me. Well, you're funny. I'm kidding. All right, I'm going to let that go.

Love you. I know you love your old man. But what were you going to say about it? We have very differing opinions. Neither right or wrong. Right. I agree. It's just a matter of how you look at it, either from a religious arena or from an outsider.

that can see all of those sides. Yes and no, but I'm not Latter-day Saint. No, but religion and religion at some level. No, it's not. It's very different. This is a horror podcast, but what I want to say is... i look at all kinds of things objectively i can look at these things and take myself out and look at the other side and look at things but we did talk about this quite a bit and i wasn't offended by what he had to say because he had a

valid point with all those things. But again, for any kind of believer, regardless of what it is, it ultimately comes down to a matter of faith. is that is a personal thing because you can't force them that on somebody all right let's move on jeez i didn't know that was gonna be like that gee whiz all right what's your number nine which is funny because you don't think i saw

I'm telling you watch that on the back of the TV. I have a solid state hard drive on the back of our TV that has thousands of movies or whatever. So anytime I can get one. Well, we can definitely talk about that. So I did not. I know I didn't share this to you. It's because of the whole age thing and you've talked about getting older and you're not happy about getting older well.

And so I didn't want to push that button, and that's why we did it. However, that is an excellent film, and that is further up my list, but it is on my list. I did like it. If I watched it with you or not, I liked the movie. All right, so I guess my next one will be Azrael, which is a movie that you saw and you can't remember, but that's okay.

this movie has samara weaving basically in a post-apocalyptic time apparently after the rapture there's these burnt demons you know again it has another cult theme to it and it's kind of a survivalist horror movie so all right Your next number eight, I believe? It would be Nosferatu. Nosferatu. Okay. That is going to be my number eight as well, so we can talk about that. Okay.

Love the aesthetic, love the coloring. The director, Robert Eggers, his stuff is always so very bleak. My favorite of his is the northern. He's the same director. Yeah, Eric. Of all his films. You didn't see The Lighthouse, but I didn't figure you wanted to see two men farting and masturbating. No. Yeah, I didn't figure that would be your thing. Raised a boy with enough of smell smell. That's true. And then...

You know, The Witch was never your favorite. We did like the film, but I found that it was the only problem with it because the acting was fantastic. The cinematography is fantastic. But his movies have a bleakness the entire time. There's no highs and lows. Remember I said that when we came out, that you don't get a moment to breathe through any of it.

have a scary moment or be startled by something that happened. People brought up jump scares and I don't remember any jump scares. I remember their loud music and Orlok being very loud when he would talk sometimes. But I don't remember any jump scares. But anyhow, very good movie, but it made our number eight.

No, I guess I didn't know going in what to expect. I've never seen the 19, 20, whatever, Nosferatu, other than what you see on, you know, the creepy walk up the stair or whatever. I've never seen the movie. So... Based on the commercials, the few that I did, it just kind of looked like a Dracula, Graham Stoker Dracula sort of remake. Well, it is actually the first. It's a Dracula ripoff where they...

wanted the rights, couldn't get the rights, so they just changed the names and recorded the story, and then they got sued by the Bram Stoker estate. There's so many similarities. So they had to pay out for that. But it was good. It was very cool. it made me feel very cold just the dark i agree but everybody it was definitely so bleak that everybody died you wanted to be there at the end he was like who would want to live in that world

So that was not good. All right. Number seven for you. So it would have been the Immaculate movie until we just watched Cuckoo. Right. So I guess that would be a toss-up too. All right. Well, I will make Cuckoo number seven on my list to shorten this a little bit. Again, we just watched this, and I'm glad we did because, wow, we both like weird-ass movies.

And I mean, seriously, I kept saying through the whole movie, I said, this movie is weird and I love it. I love the weird music soundtrack. I want to go get all that music and listen to it. I just like that bizarre stuff.

going what is it supposed to be old but she's got a cell phone but they all dress like the 80s and they have old cars and then by there you know she had like a cd walkman so it was very yeah oh my god the old school um answering machine yeah and you'd have a you'd record your little audio tape and people call the house so but yeah she had that this movie was a low reflex but also So body horror.

It had that David Cronenberg feel, so I liked that. What was it that you compared it to? In the Mouth of Madness, which is one of my favorite movies. Yes, because it was all over the place and you didn't know. But you're trapped in this weird kind of reality. You're not sure if it's reality.

strange there's people out there have not seen it i highly recommend it i will not give away anything but it definitely has the weird body horror stuff like Cronenberg and I don't like that stuff so I I mean yes you like all the Cronenberg movies I don't like a lot of that stuff like whatever but no you're right I like the movies but

So that specific genre of things is not, I wouldn't put it on my favorite list, but it didn't give me that vibe through a whole lot of it. You know, I mean, yeah, I had some, anyway. Would it be your six? All right, go to number six. What's your six? Beetlejuice, okay. Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice. I could have put this one on lots of lines. That's true. And, you know, for what it was, it was very nostalgic. I think they could have done more with Lydia. Oh, yeah, absolutely. And I totally...

I love Monica Bellucci's character in it as the bride going looking for Beetlejuice. I mean, I don't know about Beetlejuice. I don't want it because of the nostalgia part. I loved this movie as a kid, and it was just fun to see it. see another one now and yeah i did like it it didn't make my list but i did like it all right my number six will be the substance demie moore did a fantastic job also another book body horror i don't know how she got a golden glow for dark comedy

It's a horror movie. No, I didn't remember anything being too comedic in that movie. I highly recommend it to you. And you already heard us talk about that. Anyways, moving on, you're number five. Oh, yeah, that's right. Speak no evil. So this was a remake from Denmark or somewhere. He's just an excellent actor. Oh, he is. I don't remember his name, but he's Patricia. James. Patricia.

All right, Patricia. McAvoy, James McAvoy, honey. Yeah, him. He is excellent. He's an excellent actor in anything he's in, but this is the kind of stuff that scares Greg Morgan. It's the real-life horror kind of stuff. Yeah, I mean, you can see that happening. Who's going to go to somebody's house? that they're a little weird and creepy, you get vibes. You go, oh, I'm not going offline, though. Well, maybe you, not me. You know, I get a reading on people.

I'm like the dog. The hairs on the back of my head go up, and I start wanting to bark. Well, for me, even if we had been invited by the time we got halfway to this house, it was like... the never-ending driveway you're going to the texas chainsaw massacre hello in the middle of nowhere uh no so that part was unbelievable to me but overall the movie is very good so

Sorry, and I'll get off my comedic rant. All right, so my next one is going to be Nicolas Cage in drag. Long Legs. Did that make your list? No. No? Wow. Another weird-ass movie that I loved. I love the aesthetic. It also had that bleak thing. The mother was just creepy as hell in that movie.

It was. And so, like I said, anything that ends weird like that, I really like. All right. You're number four. Quiet Place. Quiet Place. Which is funny because this is probably my favorite of the movies. Really? Interesting. I did like how you get around the camaraderie, the bonding that happens because of the monsters. I thought that was really cool. I did enjoy the film. My number four is going to be Immaculate. That is my number four. Okay. All right. Sydney Sweeney kills the baby Jesus.

beat it over the head with a rock so that was a like wow kind of moment and you could see she actually had some acting chops that was the trip that that movie was a trip didn't know where it was going uh but i did enjoy it all right next number three for you abigail wow that made you number three huh

All right, you know, that was a toss-up for me because I thought that might be my number one. I totally enjoyed that movie. It was just fun. We came out of that just elated. It was like we had fun at the movie. What do we do? yes you can you see where it's going of course you can but sometimes that's okay i thought all the acting was great the little ballerina vampire was great

All right. Where am I at? Number three? Yes. Well, my number three is going to be Hairfire 3. I realize you didn't see this film, but I just had to see it for completist's sake. And I'm not big on the just absolute gore kind of thing. A lot of people like the gore in this film. I actually like the story. And I like where it went with things. And there are some parts in there that are just like, whoa. Like, there is some...

self mutilation things that I won't even tell you about that are just mind blowing. Again, the acting was great. And that's where I'll leave it at that. So what's your number two? First Omen, funny enough, that's going to be my same one too. We both like this movie quite a bit. I know probably a lot of people might like Immaculate a little better, but we like First Omen.

I really felt like it was a continuation of those old films. You know what I mean? It felt like it was fit right in with the regular Omen and Omen 2 and all that. And the aesthetic, it was creepy. There were genuine parts in that movie that were very creepy that made you kind of... make your skin crawl and you don't get that much these days to be done so far after yeah i mean they did an excellent job and to have such a well-fitted puzzle piece so for your number one

Your number one is my number one. We've never had this early life. No, we really don't. Well, it's funny because because of adding cuckoo on mine, I ended up leaving Abigail off. So guess what, Bill? is a tie abigail late night with the devil is my number one but really late night with the devil

That was an excellent movie. I have watched that like three times now. I've actually bought the DVD. It's sitting up in Bristol, Tennessee right now. We saw it before we did the whole thing. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah, absolutely. Yes, that movie just hit on all cylinders. I love the 70s aesthetic of it. Well, exactly. That was very nostalgic. Well, exactly.

It kind of goes off the rails there. I don't know. So that's our top ten list. How about you got any that didn't make the list that you wish you put on or any that disappointed you? Was it great to remember this, you know? Disappointment? Maybe. See, I like the Ghostbusters movie more than I did the Beetlejuice movie. So that's interesting.

Sorry. It's just not the original. It's never going to be the original. None of them are. Well, none of it is. But the original actors came back for this one. So that's what made it a little better. No, it wasn't bad at all. I, you know, I heard so many people say Smile 2, which is the other movie that we watched today. And we liked the first one better, actually. Definitely better.

the girl that was the main actress in this holy crap she can act i don't know it was just there was something missing from it that i just couldn't get it was really slow and there was no new premise to it like it's the same thing there's the first enemy you know All right. movie i like but not as high on the list as a lot of people's it's oddity we saw that yes and so but it was it was just i can't remember but It was just okay. I mean, it was good, but it was kind of okay. And then...

I think my biggest disappointment because I went in with such high expectations. I think I whined and cried about it the entire way home. That music drove me crazy. so i was like i'm in a miami vice episode the only saving grace was the uncle like just the look oh that's what i'm saying because you're like

But he was the only part of that was like... Oh, Frank Rillo looked good for his... He looked damn good for his age. And yes, he could do a Wolverine for sure. Oh, God. Because you did say that, so... If it wasn't for him, I would have had zero interest in watching. Yeah, the rest of the movie was kind of boring as hell. But it was low budget. All right, so we have another one to do later. I guess with that, we're going to say... Night, guys. Good night.

bam metal metal dude how insane and and greg your list is great dude amy lee of course your list is better I didn't see what I did there, Greg. See what I did? I threw you off, didn't I? But now I heard it. I was listening to their voicemail and I was sitting there laughing. I'm like, dude, they sound like Pearl and I all the freaking time when we're talking back and forth. It's almost like if you put a recorder on because it just feels that way, right?

It's like we reminisce and we're like, hey. They sound like us. That's what we sound like to everyone? Probably. I'm sure we are. It's so cute, though. Love the call. Love the... I love the call. I like how Greg goes, oh, you know, we were talking about...

Oh, the director for Nosferatu, Eggers. He goes, you know, we watched some of their old ones, you know, but Amy didn't really want to watch The Lighthouse. You mean Amy didn't want to watch the sea guys masturbating and farting? You mean that really didn't appeal to her?

But you know, why don't you want to watch farting and masturbating? Come on, you live with it every day. Come on now. Yeah, I was going to say, what's the difference between rolling over and... I'm kidding. I'm kidding. Don't you be calling me, cussing me out now. You know I'm picking on you. Oh, you can take some cuss. Oh, hell yeah, I can. But I do agree, Greg, that Cuckoo had a really nice retro feel to it. Yeah. That was an odd film.

And I'm not going to backtrack on Greg P and Amy Lee, but I totally got to backtrack to Shannon. Because she did mention one, and I've officially gone to 57 movies watched this year. Because Pearl and I did see Woman of the Hour. Duh. I told you. Duh. That movie, guys, is so freaking... What's her name again? Kendrick or whatever. One from Pittsburgh. Yes. Yeah. It's based on the true story of the serial killer who had his moment on the dating game show. Oh, my God.

So this movie is basically telling the story of how this guy, who he was, and how he got on the show, and all this stuff. Now, it's really good. I'll be honest. Straight up, it is a solid film. Didn't make my list, but I do recommend everybody check it out. Woman of the Hour. And there again, if you know anything about the serial killer back in the day that was on the Dayton game, this is the movie that kind of...

talks about this. There you go. Yeah, I know about that. Holy Christ. There's a movie about it? Yes. That's amazing. Yes, Anna Kendrick. stars in it and it's really good it's really good yeah so i'm glad you did mention that one shannon sorry about that and back to you greg p and amy lee you know we love you keep rocking it

Cannot wait. Once you get your mic, because your mic was a little bit off, but that happens, dude. And when you get them, man, I cannot wait. We can still listen to you all day long, my friend. So with that said, that is all our calls. Man, you guys crushed it. I think, Pearl, let's go ahead and...

do the contest and then we will do what we'll do guys is we'll do our honorable mentions as well as our outros okay so what movies you want to throw out you throw them out and then we'll do our outros and pearls shaking this thing up for me so i'm gonna pick two okay i'm gonna pick the

Okay, well Pearl will pick it, damn it. So she's going to pick one, and that is going to be the winner. But now if that winner ends up being a P.O. box, we'll have to go to the second one we're going to pick. So Pearl, you can hear it. Yeah. There you go. All right, so Pearl, pick out the winner, and let's see who we got. This is the winner for the poster of My Bloody Valentine. All right, she's handing it to me.

My Bloody Valentine. Shannon Barnes, you are the winner of the My Bloody Valentine Scream Factory poster. I can't wait to see this hanging up with you all. She does have an address. She does have an address? Okay, so Pearl knows the address. She does, yeah.

So we will not be picking a second one since we know 100% she does have. So, Shannon, we want to see a big picture of this on the wall in your bedroom. Or beside your TV room or wherever you got it at. But, Shannon Barnes, you are the winner of the My. bloody valentine uh poster dave and bill and pearl has seen it and it looks really awesome it's really really awesome uh so we'll get your information over to the individual that's going to be mailing this out and once again they won

to keep anonymous. Thank you, Mr. Anonymous. We know who you are and we appreciate you. So that said, let's go ahead and do our honorable mentions and our outros. Dave, we'll start over with you, brother. Throw out your honorable mentions and then throw out your outro final plugs. Oh, God, Greg. You know what? I said I had a top 20 for this year. Uh-huh.

But I promised the host over in Jan of the Dead's new horror movies that I would not reveal my top 20. So I can't give it. I can't give my honorable mentions yet. That's fine. And my plugs are what they always are. DVDinfatuation.com on Twitter or X, whatever the fuck. DVDinfatuation. The Facebook group. I have, you know what? I'm basically on Land of the Creeps more than I am anywhere else on Facebook and other podcasts. Yeah, the Dead's New Horror Movies.

Considering the cinema, we have the weekly watch list as well as the DVD Infatuation podcast. I think that's it. Nice. Well, follow Dave over here and stay tuned because on Jay the Dead's new horror movie podcast, we will be doing our top tens over there as well. And who knows? I still got another week. I may throw a couple more movies on and watch and my list may change a little bit. So Dave says...

I would like to think my list would change, but we'll see. We'll see. So go over there and listen. If not, you're going to hear seven other hosts besides Dave and I give out the list. No, that's the reason to listen. Yep. On the episode that I'm going to be doing, it is going to be Dave Z, Kyle Bishop, and Brian Scott. Yes. Listing their top tens. So even if you know what my top tens are, you don't know what their top tens are going to be. That's right.

So you got to stay tuned. So cool, Dave. Love you, buddy. Follow them on all these. Let's head over to you, Bill. What are your movie honorable mentions as well as your plugs? Well, I'll... give a few honorable mentions to ones that haven't been uh there was a vampire film called the radleys uh well worth checking out okay uh there was a fun one with danny trejo called seven cemeteries

that has a bit of a comedy horror aspect to it where he gets his old gang of fellow fighters up from the dead to join his posse. It's a pretty good kind of fun film. There's a really weird one called Frankie Frico. Little things. If you like little horror, I know Joel likes little horror. Frankie Frico is right up his alley. Y2K, it's not a bad film for people my age or so. It has a bit of reminiscing in it.

And there was one called Rumors, where it's like a G7 meeting, a group of seven political leaders are having a meeting out in the forest. And it's events that unfold from that. An interesting little film. I also wrote down my lowest rated movie of the year. I think I saw 62, 63 films. There was one called They Are Watching. It is a found footage.

film about a guy who bought a mystery box from the dark web oh it's dumb it's one out of five dumb one and i saw the tv glow i only gave one and a half stars to i it really didn't do anything for me What movies are left that I still want to see? I still need to see Speak No Evil. There was one that Don and Ellie had as his number one film of the year called The Well. I couldn't find a good copy of it.

art restorer in italy from what i understand so i wonder what it's at and there's one i saw on a couple lists called dead talent society but i haven't been able to find this film So if anybody else has seen those and liked them, I still need to see them. Anyways, I hope everybody is doing well. And I don't really have anything else to plug. I'm working on a few other things where you might see me show up here and there.

Anyways, I hope everybody's enjoying the new year and getting on well. I hope everybody's being good people. Everybody's behaving themselves. Everybody's being polite and kind. And let's keep horror alive. I love it. Bill, I had not heard of any of those that you mentioned. Really? Yes. I would have thought that Pearl would have seen Frankie Freako. Yeah. Bill, it sounded like you were listening off a bunch of bullshit.

I dig deep. You definitely dug deep. There's one other movie called Humane. Did anybody see one? You see that one? Yeah, Pearl and I actually watched that in Utah with... Jay of the Dead himself. Humane is a good one. Where the government... has made a decision that it has to eliminate a certain amount of people in England. Families have to choose if they participate and who leaves. And it's a really interesting dynamic that shows up. Yep.

Nice. All right, Pearl, let's head over to you. What do you got on honorable mentions and outro plugs? My honorable mention, there's one that's called Heresy. and it's a uh like a dark ages uh dutch village it kind of makes you think of the village okay cool girls having a hard time conceiving you know they're not supposed to be going the woods because they believe that you know there's a portal to god and a portal to the devil

Her husband goes after her, you know, and he doesn't come back, but she does return. And now, you know, things escalate because they think like, okay, you did something. And you said the village, and this is a crack on Jay the Dead. I hope it's better than the village. Ha! There you go, Jay. Go ahead. This one's Indonesia. It's Kuyang.

And this one is about like the greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world that he did not exist. And this is like... a wife and her future child and there's a creature that's amongst them it's really good and it's kind of creepy this one's a fun one it's called monster match and it's only 90 minutes long but you got

Exactly what it is. You got like Dracula, Werewolf, Invisible Man. They're all working together to stop Frankenstein from creating another unstoppable monster. Is this like a cartoon or is this real? No, it's real. Really? Oh, yeah. And they got Frankenstein and Dracula and everybody? Yeah, it's a fun one. I mean, it's not like the greatest, greatest, but it's fun to watch. Holy cow. This one I've seen.

i think it was in 2022 i seen the first one but this is the new one this one's called butcher book two raghorn and if you've seen part one you would remember because it's a family of sadistic like butchers that live in the back country and you know anyone who crosses their path you know it's dead meat but part two is supposed to be the continuation and there's an accident and that happens people are left

behind and they come across these cannibal guys and oh wow cannibals yep last one is uh second to last this one's called jimmy it's only 80 minutes long this one's about a childhood friend who goes back home because uh to go to a funeral and then also a reunion okay there's also something going on people are getting killed off because there is a certain haunted true crime podcast that if you listen to it

you get to hear the killer the last one is called anthology because i have to have my anthology in there but you got older sister who's uh running away with her sibling but in order to comfort her she has an odd way of comforting her. Like, she's telling her stories along the way, and some of these stories around the hometown might not be really fake stories at all. Right. But...

there's a couple ones that she talks about and you kind of have a sense of like the willies kind of in this, but it's, it's, it's okay. It's pretty good. Okay, cool. Uh, outro? I got no outro. I'm anywhere. You know, you guys know I'm in the main LOTC group page. And...

I won't say about Letterboxd. Anywho, how many where Greg Amor is this at? Oh, there you go. Twisted Temptress coming in with a bunch I haven't seen either. Oh, my God. I'm curious about the one that had Dracula and Frankenstein and all of them. I think you would like it. I would definitely like it. All right. So for me, I'm not going to throw out many either because I just really...

Most of these have been named. There's one that Dave Z recommended to me, and I want to throw this out. This was on the Arrow video streaming channel, and I think it's a rental, too, if you want to look at it. And it's worth it, guys. It's called The Last Video Store.

Has anybody seen the last video store? That's not the one about the blockbuster. No. no this is an actual movie okay so the last video store is set up here's the setup of it it's really cool so basically uh there is this guy who runs his own video rental store is um he's got his favorite

customer which is basically his only customer uh has some movies well his daughter returns these movies and he's a little bit suspicious about why the daughter's there and not him because he's the only one but a couple He's a couple days later, a couple weeks late on the movies or whatever. But anyways, she brings these three movies back and he starts going into the whole spill about what each movie is and how great it is. You know, this guy's a film nerd. And then there's this special tape.

that she pulls out, which looks almost like the Necronomicon. The Necronomicon, not Necromomicon. It's Jay's mom. But Necronomicon, the book from Evil Dead, it's even kind of shaped like that. And he puts the tape in and it ends up throwing into an alternate world. So this is a... trippy, colorful, fun movie. We found out, Dave Z didn't even know this until I looked it up, that there was a short film of this back in 2013, a little 10-minute...

video that I have not had a chance to check out. But anyways, last video store. If you like these kind of Astron 6 type movies, that's where it's at. This is fun. It's just a really fun cheese fest. And if you love old blockbusters and old...

You know, mom and pop video rental stores. This is definitely worth a watch. Nice. Another one I wanted to throw out, and it's already been mentioned, but I definitely want to throw it out anyways. And where was it? It was on my list. Oh, the first Omen. The first Omen was on my list.

up until the end uh threw it off but anyways that was there other than that uh what lurks beneath i don't know if anybody got a chance to see what lurks beneath uh is set up as a military well it's not really military I get what it is military but anyways there's submarine and the Americans are in the submarine and they're also a couple Brits that are with them and they're on a mission and the Russians are there and it's one of these things

and then something happens with a mermaid being brought on board and it's just it actually turned out to be super low budget but it's actually really entertaining if you've not seen it what lurks beneath and the last one i'm gonna mention guys is a movie that pearl and i watched the other day it's called coffee table oh god oh yeah now coffee table i gave it a seven jesus christ yes yes i gave it a seven

I'll be honest. It's a one-time watch. I will never watch it again. And you know what? I give it a nine. It is also a one-time watch. Yeah, it's just the subject matter of it, I don't need to revisit. But the reason I'm giving it a seven... and i'm saying i didn't it didn't hit for me like it did others was because it was just so the guy was doing so many stupid decisions that it was driving me nuts put yourself in his place yeah would you

do? Well, I wouldn't do what he did. That's for damn sure. Oh no, I'd be honest with you. I might have. There's no way. I might have done exactly what he did. He got the prize at the end. He did get the prize. You got something at the end. But this movie, if you've not seen it, it's called Coffee Table. We went into it knowing nothing about it. So it definitely hit us. So I don't want to say anything that will throw it off on you guys either.

So just watch the movie. It's worth a one-time watch, but I don't know many people other than Bill that will re-watch this again. For me, my thing is, if it was going to go where it went, it should have gone further. No, it didn't. It didn't need to go any further. This movie is further. Are you kidding me, Bill? I know, right, Dave? If you're going to go there where it went, you might as well go the whole way.

The fucking thing went the whole way. I'm kind of with Dave. I would have made it more visceral. Okay. More visceral. No spoilers. You're fucking kidding me right now. Because I remember watching it going, where's the hype? What's all the, you know. I watched it thinking, holy shit. And you mentioned all those other bullshit titles? What, you mean you've never seen Frankie Frico? Oh.

Frankie Frico is better than the coffee table. Is that what you're telling me right now? No, I'm not saying it. Well, it could be to me. If I want extreme, I want extreme. That was extreme. And the coffee table. is less extreme than Frankie Freako. Oh, no, no, no, no. Frankie Freako is just a silly, fluffy movie. I'm saying that this movie, if it was going to go there, it should have gone further.

I didn't need it to. Pearl was in tears watching this movie. That's it. It made my jaw drop and then I started crying. The Coffee Table might be the most intense film I've seen this year. Same. I agree with you. It is the most intense that I've seen, by far. And that's just me. I'm softy. I'm just saying. Bill over there watching the guinea pigs. I'm sure that was nothing to me. But I'm just saying.

There were no guinea pigs. There was no guinea pigs. There was no guinea pigs. Watch Coffee Table, but know that we warned you that it's not of subject matter that is. But anyways, we'll move on. No, I was going to say, if you're a parent, it will definitely hit you. No. Oh, yeah, absolutely. Oh, yeah, absolutely. Check that one out. If you're a parent who was carrying your infant son around, oh, my God. It gets into Eric Clapton territory. Eric Clapton. There you go. We'll leave it alone.

13 year old girl oh god I want to oh yeah So there you go. So with that said, the only other movie, let me throw this one out. It's been mentioned, but let me throw it out. Arcadian with Nicolas Cage. Great movie. Check it out. Loved it. Absolutely loved it. Give it a watch.

For me, you can follow me at Facebook, Instagram, X, all them spots, YouTube. Check out our YouTube channel, trying to put out more content. Would love for you to check it out, man. Appreciate you doing that to all that have subscribed and watched. Like I said, we'll try to be more active. So with that said, check us out at Jay of the Dead's new horror movie podcast. We're recording next week for our top 10, so hopefully we'll get that out in the next 16 months.

We'll see how long it takes Jay to get out. He's been on fire. He's been on fire, dude. He's releasing episodes like crazy. Jay absolutely has been on fire. He has. Yes. Dude, he is banging it. And I'm just busting his balls. I love Jay. So that said, so. We're ending. This is it. We're done. This is our top 10. Thank you for tuning in. Oh, one more, one more, one more. Go ahead, Bill. He's just bullshit. So the next episode you are physically going to hear will be our Black Glove Mysteries.

So we've got that coming up. And then our top five of 1990 will be coming out. So too late for you to call because it's already a done deal. So don't call for top fives or anything. You'll be calling for the following episode. Me too. So that's how we're ending. Love you guys. See you on the flip side. Help keep forward alive. We do that one movie at a time, one review at a time. Peace. Bonjour, bonjour, bonjour. Bonjour. Pearl will be here in one second. All right.

Man, I got this VHS hall, dude, Dave. Oh, my God. I saw you post about that. That's amazing. Is it mostly horror or is it just everything? No, it's mostly everything else. There's not hardly any horror. Oh, okay. I'm trying to even think if there's any horror in there. There's some like thriller, but still there's some of the titles. You go to eBay and look for just lots of boxes. I do, but this one, I actually, it popped up on my marketplace on Facebook.

And, uh, it was one of those where you only saw like one image and there was like eight or 10 VHS. So, but it said 180 VHS for $21. I'm like, holy shit. So I'm, I'm literally like I'm texting. message back still available say yes so i told pearl we went up there today to get it and i messaged greg because you know he lives here in town so i said greg we're fixing to go to this place i gave him the address i had pearl type and i said give him the address and tell him

We're going, if you don't hear nothing from us for about an hour, this is the address we went to. You never know, man. You never know with those things. My wife goes to those things all the time. She'll make deals on Facebook. I'm going to go get this hutch or something. You never know. You never know what this is. Yeah. So it's funny. Could be Hugh Grant.

It could be. Totally. So I get like, I get up there, I get it. It's an older lady and her daughter and all this stuff. And they got like a really nice house. You walk in the house and as soon as you open the door, she's got all this stuff for sale right here. Like she said, you get the DVDs or you get the VHS.

came for a vhs so uh she said okay cool she asked her daughter she said do you know what he's getting she said yeah so she's got all these boxes and a tub plastic tub she said i want to keep the tub i said that's fine i'll take it out there bring the tub right back in yeah i'll just put it in the 180 180 for 21 shit i mean you can have a damn you could be getting little timmy's bar mitzvah well here it is now now There are a few Barney.

tapes in there i'm not gonna lie there's some taboo or whatever that show that uh exercise some denise austin some stuff like that but but here's the kicker one of the movies is in that pack or in the box is striking distance with bruce willis which is the one that ian and i are doing on black glove mysteries this tuesday i'm like fuck score i'm watching it on vhs for the episode oh that's awesome dude i can't beat that are there any like old ones from the

the 80s in there so that's what i always look for i always look for the ones like that from when i was collecting and you could tell exactly you look at the box you immediately know if it's from the 80s yeah like there's uh now you got some of the uh what do you call like chris columbus and stuff

so like can't buy me loves in there you got um basic instincts stuff like that uh paris bueller's day off uh back to the future i think i have that first bueller's one yeah one of them i bet i used to have lot more but that's the only one i can still find one of the few i can still nice pearls labyrinths in there so they had a nice cop clean car all these movies are clean too no mold that's great great condition man but one of the movies i was super excited pearl and i reviewed

on Mortis Vision last year, but Farrah Fawcett's The Burning Bed. Oh, yeah. I have that on DVD, yeah. Paul LaMatte. Yes, Paul LaMatte. The husband, right. Yep. So that's one of those hidden, you know, you can question whether it's horror, but God damn, it's horror. Yeah, it is. For her, it definitely is. Yeah. Maybe the old Rodney Dangerfield joke is a gun. I get no respect for my family. That's for sure. I was, I was, uh,

A fire broke out of my house. My wife said, kids, don't wake up your dad. No, quiet, kids, or you'll wake up your dad. Home videos, not knowing a thing about what's on them. Oh, yeah. And then we'll watch them. Yeah, and you never know what you're getting. You have no idea what you're getting. They're always more fascinated about the commercials. That's the thing. That's what I have. I still have a ton of those that I recorded off TV.

For the first couple of years, I was trying to be a purist and edit the commercials out until I realized that the VHS technology just hadn't caught up with it yet. Because when I would take it off, pause, it would take about five seconds to kick in and I'd miss a little bit of them.

just after i'm like screw it i can just fast forward through the commercials well pearl and i found this place we got a place called whatever wilmington which is a used they just it's like a flea market inside right they got everything in the world in there so pearl and i are in there last week or the week before and pearl you'll have to edit this out probably so we're we're in there looking no i'm not embarrassed but we're in there looking around right and

It's like all these wrestling tapes, VHSs, comic books. You name it, they got it. Well, in the back corner, there's an adult section. It's not even a curtain. It's like a... grass grassy ivy type little thing that you got to pull apart go in there so you know we're going out told guys what's back there and he said it's just you know movies and stuff so i said well i'm gonna walk back here so i walk in and he's got it's like a really very tiny four

by six room like it's super small it's like a closet so i walk in there and you you elbow to elbow you know stuff so look around there's like vhs dvds and then there's this whole uh shelf and on top of it there's probably What do you think, love? Probably about 400 envelope discs.

Yeah. Movies in envelopes. Yeah. With all kinds of, like, written. And I said, what the fuck is this? So, anyways. Well, that's the shady stuff that guys would get. And they'd send them in, like, a regular envelope. Well, no. No. No. They were getting porno. No. What they are, what we found out is.

is that it's people that took like vhs's and ripped you know vhs on the dvd stuff like that stuff has been oh okay right so anyways we'll get ready to leave told the guy uh whatever and bought some stuff you know some regular stuff so gary leave i told process i want to call him asking what the hell those envelopes were so i call him back and i said hey dude i was wanting to come in there and buy some wrestling i bought her uh what's the fucking uh

Rick Rude, wrestling figure and a couple of things. So I called him back. I said, dude, I bought the Rick Rude. He said, yeah, yeah, he was just in there. I said, yeah. I said, dude, I said, question. I said, there were some envelopes back in that adult section. What is that? And he said, that's just stuff that people's burned on there. I said.

How much are they? He said, they're free. I said, oh, I'll be back. So I go back in there and I grab like three of them. And the ones that we got, check these out, guys. ET, the vaginal something. And then there's one called E.T. the extra testicle. And then there's something else, and I swear to God, the E.T. vaginal is fucking this.

creature look at this a woman in a creature suit that's does not look like et hardly at all i mean i'm just saying but but these big it looks like i don't think that was their motive and it's like in german or sweden or something i'm laughing through this fucking thing skimming through it and then et the testicle is basically somebody took and put like green makeup on this guy it's all the other one was some kind of just weird porn it was just weird porn

Who knew you would get two of the same genre? Well, I specifically picked those two. I went through a few and I saw E.T. I was like, fuck, let's try E.T. and see what the hell this is. There was no Strange Encounters parody? Well, I don't know. So I'm going to go back and try to grab a whole stack. So what led up? It probably wasn't his finger. No, it wasn't. He had a finger, I'll tell you that, but he had not that kind of finger.

And I won't ask where it went. Oh, no. You don't want to know where that finger. He was wanting to go home. He phoned home. He definitely phoned home many times. No, no, he got lost. He couldn't find it. Yeah. God, dude. He got more than Reese's pieces, that's for sure. Yeah, there were some pieces going out, that's for sure.
