Derrick Washington was born on December 7, 1982, in Hattiesburg, ms. Where he began his music career at the age of 15 and was later introduced to the producer/CEO (William Woodard)- aka –“Mr. woody” of knock on wood records. By Chester Coleman of point south entertainment. Since working under knock-on-wood records. An album has been completed with 3 hit singles. In 2012, his first single “who am I fooling” was released, “love bone” and in 2013 “help me turn this house into a home” in 2014 derrick’s inspiring artists are el DeBarge, Michael Jackson, Tyrone Davis & the late great Johnnie Taylor. He has also participated in shows with other “ southern soul artists”, such as tucka “the king of swing” at the VFW in Hattiesburg, ms on July 14, & with big pokey at the VFW in Pascagoula, ms on April 2015. In January 2020 his latest “hit single was released” the name of his hit single is called “sexy lady” Derrick Washington returns back on the show with a new music single called 'Come over here featuring artist Heavy House'
