He began his music career at age 15. Derrick’s favorite inspiring artists are El Debarge , Michael Jackson,
Tyrone Davis, and The Late Great Johnnie Taylor. He has also participated in shows with other Southern Soul Artists, such as Tucka “The King Of Swing." Derrick has been on LadyDiva's shows since 2020 presenting all his albums and singles.
