Matchday 4 recap: The one where Elche get revenge

We’ve just had the first midweek round of the 2020/21 LaLiga season, so here comes our first midweek matchday recap. We start by discussing Elche's win over Eibar and hear about Eibar’s problems from Basque journalist Beñat Gutiérrez (@beinatguti).

There’s also praise for league leaders Getafe, with Geta fan Dom Tancock (@dorsetdom1905) joining the pod to explain what they’re doing so well. Barcelona fan Román de Arquer (@Aeroslave) does likewise, expressing his surprise at the Catalan side's perfect start to the campaign.

There’s also a happier Paco Polit (@pacopolitENG), after Valencia pulled off a shock win at Real Sociedad, their first away win of 2020. Plus, host Euan McTear (@emctear) reflects on Real Madrid and the Benzema-Jović partnership and marvels at nine-man Cádiz’s impressive win in Bilbao. Finally, Matt Clark (@MattClark_08) rounds up the eccentric commentary from Movistar and Cadena Cope that added atmosphere to a fun Villarreal-Alavés clash.
