I have ninety Bible. Good morning, good morning, good morning, Welcome, welcome, welcome. It's time now for our community connection right here on K one, the one you trust. It's time to talk a little wild bro Daniel, how you doing, my man? Doing well? Great to be here this morning, Well, great to have you in here. We do this every year, and I call you. This is really grown from just a kind of a nice little party to a big my got it?

Can we find some more room? Absolutely so, the greatest party ever Hatch. We've got it happening this year at the Cox Convention Center August twenty fourth, between five and eight. We're gonna have us and thousands of our friends coming out to enjoy lots of food, lots of drinks, and help support

conservation topics here in Oklahoma. Tell us a little bit about the Sutton Center, the Aviation, the Avian Center here in Bartlesville, and we what a history we've got you, absolutely over forty years of conservation sixcets stories here in Bartlesville. Started with the bald Eagle project. Eagles, of course, hadn't been nesting here for some time, and now we've got over three hundred nesting pairs here in Oklahoma. It's part of everyday life seeing our national symbol.

And it all started at the Sutton Center forty years ago. My goodness sakes, that is something you just don't take lightly. And of course that got a lot of a worldwide press too. Oh. Absolutely, this is a species that again our national symbol on the endangered species list. We almost lost it, and now you see these guys everywhere. They're no longer on the endangered species list. We were able to really reinforce the fact that people have

the ability to change the environment that we live in for the better. I understand that once upon time you've got a little help from another kind of eagle. Don Henley. Yeah, Don Henley, Absolutely, he was a big contributor right off the bat. Hey, when eagles of a kind they fly together, and he did. Great. Now you're gonna be you do a lot with the edge cation side of it here, and you're going to be bringing some of the birds to the event, aren't you. Absolutely Yep.

So the education birds, the birds that I normally bring out to classrooms and events that you got to Guys might have seen me in the community before you out the County Fair quite a few times This is going to be such an experience because all these birds all at once are going to come out to the Cox Convention Center, and you're gonna be able to come out and see and

interact with a lot of these birds. In fact, we're gonna have stations set up if you want to come in and get a selfie with Artemis our redtail. Oh my, yep, this is the chance to do it. You're not gonna have a chance like this. So if you want to come out and meet some of our education birds and really have a really close encounter with one of our fabulous birds of prey, come out to Wild Brew.

I'd love to meet you. I'd love to show you my birds. Now, Artemis has done this the time O're six styles, and so don't worry about that. He's cool with the selfie, isn't absolutely So it's old hat for Artemis. She's been doing this for a few years. For me now this will be her third year on Glove for me, so's she's doing great. Wow, this is right, this is awesome. Now I understand that we we have like a big rush of vendors who like to just say get

me it. Yep, that's how that's how good this is for sure. So with wild Brew, obviously this is the longest running food and craft beer crawl here in Oklahoma, and so every year we have new vendors that are signing up and if you're if you are a vendor and you haven't signed up, it's not too late. We actually take submissions right up until the right

up to the buzzer. If you can get in at least a week before and say, hey, you know what, I'd love to be represented and help support these these great causes, get hold of us wildbrew dot org, the same place you go to buy your tickets, there's a little link for any of the vendors that want to be part of this. Okay, we go to the website for the tickets right absolutely so on wildbrew dot org. That's where you can get your tickets. And this is a variety of options.

If you just want to come and join and make new friends, that's awesome. If you want to get a whole table worth of people together and you can bring your all your friends. If you want to support us in any way, go to that website and come and see what's being done. We'd love to have you. That is so cool. That is so cool, And every years it's kind of like the big thing that time of year, and it's one of those things where folks have got a clambering to get

their tickets too. So don't wait till the last moment, I guess is what we're saying here. We don't want anybody to be left behind. Yep. Absolutely, We've had some years where it came down to the wire and we were like, I don't think we can fit anybody else in here. Wid Marshall may have something to tell them about this. So if you plan on coming, if you plan on bringing your friends, we're just meeting people up there is imperative to go ahead and get your tickets early instead of waiting

till the door. Again, you've got a couple of options. We've got our standard fair If you want to come in five to eight, that's three hours of all you can eat, all you can drink, you come out and enjoy the fun, and that's three hours. If you want to be there early and get that early early time before everybody else comes in, get the early samples, come and meet me before everything gets a little crazy. You can get patron tickets on that same website. Nice, and that Patroon

ticket gets you in an hour earlier, which is really nice. And there's a special area that only you can visit that's got some very premium offerings. Let me say, okay, well, you'll have to go on the website to know more about that. We're just gonna hang that out there for them. Okay, absolutely, Okay. Now we brought the eagles back at the

Sutain Avian Research Center. What are the ongoing conservation projects going on? Absolutely so, We've got a number of ongoing conservation projects, two of which are two of the most endangered birds in North America. So we've got the masked bob white quail. If you're familiar with the northern bob white quails, I'm not going to imitate the sound, but y'all can look it up. It's the sounds like they're saying bob white Yep. Absolutely so very similar birds.

But these are a desert species. And this is a bird that literally went almost the almost a decade, the better part of a decade without being seen in the wild. Wow. And now we're here, we are bringing them back from the brink of extinction in Bartlesville. Wow. That's cool. Yep. The other bird, the Atwater's prairie chicken Texas Louisiana native. Don't hold that against them, but very similar to the prairie chickens we have up here.

We learn a lot from bringing these species back and bringing them back to the habitat that they used to occupy. What makes a prairie chicken a prairie chicken? Yeah, absolutely so uh not actually a chicken, believe it or not. Oh yeah, I'm there. But but you see these prairie chickens if you've ever seen if you haven't seen it, I'm gonna really encourage you to go look these guys up or come out to wild Brew because we've got

some of the aavy cultures that want to show you. We got videos and we want to show you and what these guys look like, what they do, and if if you are inclined to have these in our environment, to have them here in Oklahoma in our prairies, in our uh both our tall and short grass prairies up around. I mean it's not a two hour drive from here to get to areas where these birds used to be very prolific. Yeah, and to have these guys back in our vin is something that we

can do. It's something that we can have an impact. Well, this is great. See, folks, you get a chance to learn something and you have a good time at the same time, and you're saying, well, dog got and I learned something. How do you like that? And you know, yeah, and I did it while I was having fun.

Dog gone. Well that's what it's all about. Its having fun, learning and also contributing to a great cause, which is the Avian Research Center right here that's bringing these species back from the brink of extinction and having them proliferate. Absolutely, So come out to Wildberer that's Wildbreer dot org. Get those tickets, drink a beer, save a bird. I like that. You must have t shirts that say that come out, Come out and get a T shirt. We got those for you. If you're really located here in

town. So here in town we've got we've got two offices, but right around Circle Mountain is our main office. We're not open to the public on a regular daily basis, but if you're in didn't learning more or scheduling a tour for a group. classrooms. So if you'd like to have me come out.
