Good morning, good morning, good morning, and welcome, welcome, welcome, and it is time now for our conversation with US Senator James Langford and Senator first of all, Merry Christmas to you. It's coming up soon. It is Merry Christmas to you as well. We are all ready for that holiday to be able to get gives. Got a lot of busyness that's been taking place here. Your friend mister Mayorkas has been getting a little bit of

a business. You've been in his here a little bit, and we have actually we had a lot of face to face meetings lately trying to be able to work through the issues on border. The administration and Senate Democrats have been furious that we're trying to be able to actually solve the border issues. But our focus has been we're going to work on national security issues, which we

are dealing with Israel and Ukraine and other areas. We're going to work on American national security issues as well, and to be able to solve this border issue. So yes, we've been in the thick of a lot of negotiations. I've had a lot of face to face meetings in the past several days with the White House and with Senate Democrats to be able to hash out well, what we pray and hope is a really solid the deal to be able

to deal with border security. Senator, A lot's been going on, some of it's been over there in the House, and of course you're in the Senate. Bet them know that you're keeping an eye on it. The big ieword came up with impeachment inquiry with the Hunter Biden and possibly Joe Biden. Can you give us maybe what you're seeing from your vantage point. It's not in the Senate yet and it won't be for a while and if it ever

does get there. Yeah, it seems to be the month of the eyeword at this point, where we've got immigration, inflation, and now impeachment all in conversation. The impeachment dialogue in the House has been there frustration that the administration is not turning over documents for them to be able to do their investigation. And their statement is we don't have to turn it over until there's some formal proceedings dealing with subpoenas and impeachment inquiry. Otherwise we're not going to turn

it over. So the House responded yesterday with all right, we'll open a formal impeachment inquiry and we want all these documents, which means the courts will actually compel the White House to start turning things over. So that's the next step they're going to. It doesn't necessarily mean impeachments will actually occur, but it will force the White House to actually start turning documents over and let them get a chance to be able to complete their work. The way that it

works is the House does the investigation. If they determine there is enough evidence there for impeachment, then they votes for that and it sends it over to the Senate and there's a formal trial. And we've seen those recently to be able to know what those look like. Well, there are a lot of things going on here too. I believe the Defense Bill got passed, correct,

did it did? It got passed through the Senate. The House is scheduled to be able to take up the National Defense Bill today actually, and that's incredibly significant for all of our bases and posts in Oklahoma and our total national security. It's a race for members of our military. It has one of the aspects that I have in it dealing with not only there's lots of

individual pieces that I have in there for Oklahoma bases and the post. But then also the issue about the spouses, because a lot of spouses in the military, they travel with their spouse all the time from base to base. They're not able to get a career, and so we have special language and there to be able to allow the ways for the spouses to be able to get a career and so they can also develop a career at the same time that the member of the military who serve in the nation can do it as

well. Senator, you know with this defense bill, I mean, we're doing some great things here with Oklahoma, but on the larger scale, a lot of the left it didn't move on several things abortion and pronouns and a few other things. Where are we with that. Yeah, there's a mix on this. So we have pushed very hard, obviously because the Biden administration is doing something no administration's ever done. That they're actually paying members of the

military and their travel to be able to go and get an abortion. No one's ever done that with federal funds. And we continue to be able to push that and are pushing towards litigation to be able to stop that as well. That's something Democrats dug in on on the during final negotiations. But on the flip side of it, we actually took out a lot of these DEI offices and prohibited CRT training in the military. And this was a big issue

for us where they lost on it. Where we were pushing back to be able to say, hey, we want the military to end up being moral, professional, and lethal, not a you know, left wing organization. That's deal with de I all the time. We should have no racism, we should have no anything else in the military. But when they're spending all their time in training classes on DBI rather than actually learning how to be able

to break things, that that's a bigger issue. Indeed, thanks for kind of clearing that up there, because there were a lot of questions going into the boat over that other things. In Washington, d C. We mentioned the I word earlier inflation. Boy, you know you read the headlines today and it says Wall Street had a record breaker. Well good, a handful of stocks. He did very very well. But how does that relate to

mom and pop and the babies back home? Yep. It helps a lot of folks in their retirement because a lot of folks have different plans and retirement investments and such that will actually help them long term for their retirement. But the inflation continues to be able to rise here and stay stubbornly high. It was the massive overspending in the earliest days of the Biden administration that really triggered

this that we continue to be able to suffer the consequences for it. When you do massive amounts of spending like that on the federal side, it does have a real effective economy. Well, everyone's great to have free money all the time, prices go up, wages go up, all those things to start to accelerate, and it's really hard to stop inflation once it gets started.

So this has been a big issue and President Biden's travel around the country touting his Bidenomics and saying, isn't the economy great, and the American people are saying, no, it's not, it's not great, and so this has been a big issue for him on the election front, but quite frankly, it's a bigger issue for the American people struggling with the cost of everything right now and trying to be able to get some kind of balance back in

their life. Well as Congress gets ready for the Christmas break here looking forward to twenty twenty four, what do you have coming up here as far as bills that you're presenting. Yeah, I'm working on the border security bill. This is twenty four to seven for me for weeks and weeks trying to be able to push across the finish line this border security bill. If we can get it done, that will happen in the next ten days basically, so

I will be here all weekend working through those issues. If we can get to resolution, then the Senate would vote on it next week. In the House would vote on it at the end of that week, and that would be an epic shift. This would be the largest change in border security policy in decades if we're able to get this thing across the finish line. So that's the main project that I'm working on right now for the end of the year. All righty, Well, Merry Christmas to you and your family and

to all your staff and everybody that's working with you. To get a hold of you, maybe ask you a question or just wish you merry Christmas. How do they do that, Senator bet Yeah, they can reach out online. You can go to Langford dot Senate dot gov. It's gov Langford dot center dot gov. That side has gotten my email address, snail mail address, phone numbers. You can go to at Senator Langford at any of the social media platforms and get a chance to be able to see what we're doing.

We try to post there frequently to let people know what's going on in the latest stats and figures. And then I would encourage folks in a couple of things, not only enjoy time with your family during this season, remember the reason for this season as well, the incarnation of God himself and that reminder that He is with us. But I would also ask just people to pray for us. We've got a lot of really serious work to get done and we're just asking God's favor to be able to finish this up for the

sake of the nation. Thank you, Senator,
