Good morning, good morning, good morning, and welcome, welcome, welcome. It's time now for our community connection right here on K one, the one you trust, and we're talking with the Bartlesville Regional United Wade today. How you doing. We got Katie's On and Julia Baron in with us here today. First of all, Katie, welcome back. Thank you. It's great to be back in the studio and thanks for bringing the new Julia. Yeah, so Lisa's on vacation a bles, sir, So we brought Julia,
who is our summer intern. This is her second year with us, and we're very excited that she's back. I'm excited to be here. Well, great, where do you study? So I'm at Oklahoma State. I'll be a junior in the fall and I'm majoring in business management with the concentration in nonprofit management. So happy to be happy to be OSU. Great. Now, we've got a bigger bet that's coming up here, and I'm gonna just say it right here. You know the way does you go bigger you
go? Now? Yeah, this year we're going big for sure. Now. We used to call this a Pace Center, but it's called United in Giving. But for the folks who aren't familiar with it, tell us a little bit about what it is. So this is our third year of doing this, and we are mixing things up a little bit. So this event has always kind of been our pacesetter event. We've had all of our sponsors in the same room, We've had our companies that do their internal campaigns.
But this year we are we are having this be our pride and true kickoff, So we are announcing our goal at the events and we are kicking off our annual campaign. So you're not gonna wait to the football game run out there and you'll blow up all these you know things. No, we're gonna mix it up a little bit. We do have some surprise with this one with our kickoff and announcing the goal, so I'm not going to get into that. But Uniting Giving it's going to be great. It's twenty dollars for
a ticket that gets you a lunch catered by Shorties. Chris is going to do some really good food for this event. But you can purchase this online at Bartlesville UW dot org. But we're also going to be selling these really cool T shirts and you yeah, and you can see on the video on TV. We are wearing our T shirts today, so you can buy those. We're also going to have some really cool color changing mugs that we'll be
able to sell. Nice. Yeah, So we've got some really cool things played for United and Giving and we'll also have our online auction there too. All right, once again, this is August first, from eleven thirty am to one pm. It's twenty dollars and you just go to Bartlesville UW dot org. Now that we've got people kind of locked in here, let's pull the trigger. Why do we need this auction because it looks just too cool?
Yeah, So all of the money that is raised from our online auction, United and Giving, our annual campaign, goes to fund over thirty programs from fifteen different partner agencies across the nowada O age in Washington Counties. I'll let Julia kind of talk about that. Let's do that the feeling you had to do a lot of the first work. Yes, So Katie and I've kind of been double teaming the online auction. We're getting super excited. We
have a lot of really cool items donated. I think we have over over fifteen baskets are around that amount they're going to be super cool. Thanks. That'll appeal to everyone in the community. So I would definitely say get excited, show up, and get ready to bid on some cool baskets. All right, now, I'm seeing some things here. You got something from Always Shoes, So I wonder where that camp men's basketball tickets? Yeah, very good. We got a nice little trip to Austin, Texas. Yes,
a girls' weekend trip to a husket. Geez. There couldn't be any shopping involved there none. We've got some really great ones and we have really seen the community kind of come together. We've hit up a lot of local businesses and they have been more than generous with donating items for this. So we're really excited to kind of put all these things together and have a really awesome online auction. Yeah. Now, we've already got some of the folks kind
of hooked in already on what we're doing here at the auction. But can we go someplace like online? I guess a couple of different places to find this, right, Yeah. So we will have all of the items in person at United in Giving, so you can bid there, but we'll also have a separate website set up that you can bid online. The auction will run from July twenty ninth to August thirteenth, so that gives you plenty of time to get online, check out all of the items, be able to
kind of bid. You can kind of even sneak some of those ninja bids in last minute. But it's gonna be a really great thing. We'll have all the information posted to our website and our social media when it gets a little bit closer. Did you wear out a couple of pairs of shoes running
around try to get all this stuff? We actually just all all of us at United Way just went around and asked for some donations from different businesses in the community, and honestly, everyone has been so gracious towards us and just helped us out with this. You guys are like the best friends in the community. Hopefully, Well we are. Yeah, we have like what fourteen partner agencies that we assist, so we make sure that nobody in our footprint
goes through the cracks. Yes, and we're super excited because this is the first year that Ray of Hope has become one of our partner agencies. So yeah, and now we're at fifteen. We're excited to bring them on. Ronda and her team over there are just phenomenal. H So we're so excited that they are a partner agency. Well, I'll tell you what, We're going to take a quick break. We'll come back. We'll let folks know a little bit more about United Giving in the auction, but we're also going
to talk about the gear up too. Okay, all right, we'll be back after these words from Wesley and College. Katie's on and Julia Barron and we've been talking about United and Giving and that is coming up on August the one. It is August first. It is going to be at Bartleswell Community Center. We are always excited to have our event there. They are just phenomenal. It will be twenty dollars for a
ticket and the ticket gets you a lunch from Shorty Scrill. I'm not exactly sure what he's got cooked up, but I know it's go ahead. Yeah, that's gonna be drot. Oh yeah, everything he makes is fantastic, so you can't go wrong. Oh got you online auction? Yes, so we will also have our online auction there so you can see the items in person, but the online auction will run from July twenty ninth to August thirteenth. the details will be there when it gets a little bit closer now. Also, yeahit in living. We're announcing of course the goal, so we've changed that up a little bit. We still have the europe for kickoff, so yes, plain it for me. So again we this year we're doing things a little bit different. We're gonna go a little bit bigger this year, and we are hopefully going to raise even more money this year, and the need is stronger in the community, so we're pulling out all this stuff.
So we're going to announce our goal at United in Giving, but we're also going to have a kickoff week, So that's going to run August fifth through ninth, and it's going to be a week full of community related events that it's going to really kind of kick off that annual campaign. So August fifth, Lisa and our campaign chair, we'll be here in the radio with you, Tom, And then August sixth, we are going to do a thank you event for our first responders. We're still kind of planning what that looks
like. And then August seventh, we are going to have a pie in the Face contest and we've got some really awesome people lined up for that. We've got Jamie Imamoto with Conico Phillips, Matt Epperson from Phillip sixty six, We've got Chris Batchelder, David Nicol from Ourvest, and Misty Wishaw. How much does it cost for a pie? So it's going to be a dollar a vote, So we're hoping that these will be some you don't get that.
No, we do have a pie in the Face sponsor. Yeah, so if you really want to be the one to kind of, you know, slam the pie and the taste, yeah, we do have some opportunities for that. Yeah. So it's going to be really cool. The whole week is going to be really awesome, and then we'll end it with a walk around downtown and then a happy hour at Palace Rooms. Well, that'd be great. I was thinking you'd have like a pie catapult, you know,
that would be cool. Yeah, but I didn't know. Yeah, well, right now, Lisa is the one who's lined up to kind of, you know, do the pie to the face of the winner. But there's an opportunity. So if you are listening to this and you're like, I really want to be the one to do that, we can make that happen. Yes, you know, we're always volunteers. I take the volunteers for for you know, taking one for the team exactly. Yes, now, you know pie in the Face not as It's not as easy as it
looks now. No, we're very excited about it and the people who are going to be involved in that. They're they're pretty excited to see how much money we can raise from it. I bet they are. Yeah, and you got a great lineup. Yeah, I really think that you got a nice all star cast. Yes, yeah, so I don't think those dollars are going to be in the mini area. I think you're going to probably be in the thousands here before, so fingers crossed, that's what they're Yeah,
well, I think it's going to be great. And what is your website so that folks can go to it and otain more information? Yeah, so our website is Bartlesville UW dot org and you can go there to find more information about really anything, but especially to buy tickets for United and giving. Katie set up a link on there, so go on there, buy the tickets. They're twenty dollars in. That day is August first, at eleven thirty. You can't missy cam. And of course stay with you guys
on the social media. Yeah, for sure, as you update things on that almost every day. Absolutely we try. Yeah, yeah, posting a lot about the kickoff week I'm sure leading up to that on social media.
