Good morning, good morning. Come, welcome, welcome, welcome, welcome. Eating the time now for our community connection and we have the United Way in and how are we doing, Miscarry, We are doing great. You brought French, I bought. I brought an amazing person who is this year's campaign chair. Her and her husband, Tasha and Trevor Wyatt are our campaign cheers and I'm so excited and so proud to have her stand up for a United Way. And she's doing a great job. Tasha, Welcome to the
show. How are we doing so far? That kickoff thing was pretty spectacular. Oh, that's always so fine. It's Oh, it's one of my favorite things that that we do. Just being out at the football game. There's so much energy and so much fun. And you get to go out with all the all the agency directors and and share the United Way story. United begins with you, kick off the campaign. It's it's a great event
and I love that we do that. It's so it's so awesome that the Bartlesville Public Schools partners with us and allows us to do that at the first home football game. And I loved seeing the rally towels that we passed out swinging in the air. I don't know how else to say that. But when we announced our campaign goal, and the goal is two point four million, not too high of a bartet, get is it not at all?
It's a fantastical I mean, United begins with you, so it's just you know, what we really want to talk about is that it is It doesn't matter if you give a dollar or give one hundred thousand dollars, it begins with you. And that can be by giving, by volunteering, by advocating for United Way because really the donor dollars, we will be good stewards of those and we will make sure they help those people most need. And that's
through our partner agencies and of course your partner agency's fourteen in growing. Yes, great, yes, you got that. Now thing going explain that? Okay? So now area is nowata O Sage in Washington Counties and that is our coverage. We are We're proud to be the Regional Artlesville Regional United Way, and it's so important for people to understand that we not only stay in
Washington County, we're able to be there. Now. I don't know how to make it sound catchy, but it's nowata O s Age in Washington County. It works for me, Okay, easy, remember, Tashi, you got a little bit another a bit kind of a small one coming up here, a little bit too. Oh, it's it's just you know, a little twenty year amazing, big week long. Lisa and the team and the committee are working really hard to get it going. Super excited about the United
Way Golf Tournament coming up next week. Yes, this is it. This isn't just a few folks coming around for mixers in a you know, a couple of long shots. This is a big to do. This is a very big to do. One of my favorite stats is, so, this is the twenty year anniversary of the golf tournament and the first year's goal was six thousands. They made eight eight thousand dollars. Yes, and it's growing
a little. Yeah, it's just grown just a little. Yes. Then last year we set a new record of nine hundred and eighty five thousand. Our goal this year is a million, and I'm filing really positive about it. So I think, you know the generosity of Conico Philips and Philip sixty six that they sponsor this tournament and they reach out to their vendors and most of the sponsors, with the exception of two, are from out of town, and a lot of them are out of state. So but they did
you see a value of coming here and having fun? They love Bartlesville, I mean, and yeah, I mean, it's a great community, and without this golf tournament, we wouldn't be able to help our partner agencies as much as as much as we do. So it's a huge, huge deal for us, and it's a lot of work, but it is a lot of fun and we're really excited about it. Gosh, what drew you and your husband to the United Way and wanting to take that big leap into the
position you're now in. Oh, great question, Bartlesville native. I've been around and seen, you know, the wonderful things that the United Way has done. I've been involved in several of the partner agencies for many years, and a few years ago Lisa invited me to be on the board and I graciously humbly said yes, so excited to be a part of what the United Weight does. And then she asked if we would do the co chairs last year and the chairs this year, and just sharing about the United Way,
about the partner agencies and neighbors helping neighbors. The Bartlesville community is such a wonderful, generous community of people who want to be involved, who want to help their neighbors, and being a part of the United Way really helps lets me get back. And so that's one of the reasons I love it. As you very aptly identified Bartlesville and it's character, and what this does with the United Way just amplifies. It does factor ten and over fourteen for that
matter. And this is this really is is a great thing. And I'm sure your heart's just like overflowing with yes, we're going to do this. Yes, yes, we are going to do this. It's going to be amazing, and we're going to hit that campaign goal. I have faith in Lisa, her team and this amazing community that we live in. Oh. Indeed, indeed, how many people would you bring it to town? Did you say? For the golf tournament? Will probably they'll be around nine hundred
twenty golfers. It's a four day tournament with two flights a day, So it's we get those nine hundred golfers through and have a good time, have a lot of good food on the course, and have some great raffle prizes Atoms Golf work course is. I want to give a huge thanks to Tracy Rowles who u and Mike Bailey who did some updates on the clubhouse. It looks great. So the only thing we're worried about now, Tom is a little bit of rain. It can rain before the tournament, and it can
pour on Saturday, but we're really hoping for good weather. It looks like it's going to be cooler and then because we want people to know how special this tournament is, and we want them to understand that it is. It's a pretty big deal for a small town at Bartlesville to put on this tournament. How can we be a part of the campaign? You said a dollar or one hundred thousand, but I'm sure that there are a lot of people who are pretty much in between. What are good ways to go about that?
But they can donate online at Bartlesville UW dot org. Or they can call our office and we can explain to them what we do. Or they can drop by and for fifty et Silo Street and just a lot, give them some literature about what we do, and probably a T shirt. You've probably seen this if you can't walk out of the office of that T shirt. Yes, and you better take one because they are amazing t shirts. Honest, yeah they are. They are very amazing, and they like giving
them away. Now, there's one thing that we do here at work because we're we partner with United Way have since you know, I've been arounding Way probably a long time before that. But if you have a business, or you have a let's say, a franchise of a big business, how do we get involved with just making that an automatic deduction out of our checks? I mean, we are able to help companies do that. Are a lot of companies in our community do that already, and then some of them even
match those funds. So we have a you know, if they need help with that, whether it's a you know, a small company or a bigger one, we're able to give people the information and the tools to help them do that. So this week tomorrow we have the Chronico Phillips kickoff, and then in October we'll have the Philip sixty six kickoff. So it's you know, it's a lot of people doing a lot of stuff for our community.
And that's what blows me away. I've lived here twenty eight years and I just love having knowing that each year the community steps up and do it and gives and helps those people be the best versions of themselves. This is great the United Way. What a great story, and of course, folks, you can help write that story here during our big campaign. Gosha, thank you for being here with us. Thanks
